Would give it three and a half if I could. I've only ever been on Thursdays for the drag show, which is generally hilarious, if not particularly impressive. That being said $3 you call it, yeah like Ketel One on the rocks for $3, is worth it ANY Thursday! That and you'll definitely have a few laughs with the queens and the crowd. From what I've heard, groups of girls, and bachelorette parties beware, they don't take kindly to the "let's go to the zoo" attitude about gay bars.
Review Source:For a country club for gay men, Charlie's is part of a very few country based clubs that I have been to in a long time that boast some of the best country music around. I remember Charlie's back in the day and it seems that is  still formidable when it comes to entertaining. I found it really fun to see the men doing the dosey doe around the place but the talent to know these dances is incredible. I only wish I could be so lucky. I did speak to a manager who says that on some nights they do offer classes for those who aren't really able to grasp the whole concept of square dancing. SO this is a good thing. But the dancing they do is really beautiful to look at, why couldn't I have those country genes? (No pun intended)
So for a quick country romp on the dance floor, Charlie's is the place. And of course for a nice drink while your at it.
I've been there on many Thursday nights to watch their drag shows. Â Plus they have $3.00 you call its...so it's a very affordable night out. Â Anything they serve is only $3.00. Â It's a big bar and their staff is super friendly, very welcoming. Â They usually don't get busy until later, like after 11pm. Â Great place to go and hang out...
