    Red Ginger, poor Red Ginger. There are a few things wrong with the place, like for one, the location. This place would be a plus pan-asian eatery in Andersonville, Lincon Park or Lakeview, but out in the middle of nowhere, it's really suffering for customers. Which is a real shame, because they have a number of excellent dishes.

    Red Ginger offers an eclectic mix of Thai, Chinese, Japanese and West indian cuisine, and most everything on the menu is well executed. Most Thai places on chicago offer 5.95, unmemorable entrees, but here the higher quality is noticeable. Various salads featuring meat and fruit with the vegetables make you sit up and take notice, and the chef's specialties like duck with blackberry sauce and a curried crepe captivate the mouth. Even the run-of-the mill dishes like gyoza and cashew chicken are impeccably executed.

    The last time I went, it was with a friend who had just spent time at Cordon Bleu(cooking institute in France) who remarked with some surprise at the quality of the food at this place in the middle-of-nowhere. And let me tall you friends, if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for you.
