We reserved a table for a 6:30 meal on a Friday.
Wow. Remarkable service, decor and food. We had walked by many times, always seen it busy, and wondered  if the place merited the crowd.
It does, by a wide margin. We started with a sand dab appetizer, which was great. I then had the (new) trout...it was more like a slab of salmon. Just phenomenal. My partner had a pork chop. The pork was succulent, flavorful and well presented.
We complimented the meal with a French sparkling wine. Finished it off with lattes.
The service was impeccable. There is a moderate to loud noise level, but oddly not too much to annoy us.
We can't wait to return and investigate the menu. Highly recommended. Good lively vibe. Huge, active bar. Positive feelings, augmented with superior food.
Terrible experience for the 2nd time.$40 for the worst desserts and coffees is such a letdown. Dried up chalky brownies promoted as fudge and a tasteless pluot dessert that reminded us of breakfast gone awry. Wish I had something positive to say. Alas, once, shame on you, twice, shame on me. Definitely not returning for more. The only word that comes to mind is shameful.
