I was visiting from Seattle and went to check this place out for the live music on a Friday. I went around to the back bar and only saw a few beers on tap, but the bartender was quick to let me know they had many more on tap in the front bar and was more than willing to grab a beer for me from there. As far as food goes, I was really surprised at the selection. They have the standard appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, etc., but there's a wide variety of options when it comes to their wings and "slyders." I decided I was gonna go with the slyders and had the choice of 10-12 different options from beef, turkey, lobster, pulled pork, short ribs and even bison. I went with the Captain Brunch: chopped steak, a fried egg, bacon and American cheese. The 3 slyders served with fries and a Brooklyn Lager hit the spot. I'm not sure how everything else is on the menu, but I'd definitely come back to try the other slyders and wings. Solid place for burgers, brew and live music.
Review Source:Stopped by there for the first time when looking for a quick spot to eat going back to NYC. Â The place is a lot bigger than one would think and its more of a bar than a place to really grab any food. Â We ordered the cod sandwich and lobster sliders both were good. Â Asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular which they forgot but gladly substituted. Â Overall I would say its a nice spot especially since we had no idea what to expect. Â Seems more like just a nice place to hang out and grab drinks though but i can't comment on that.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I were on our way to Cove Park and stopped by this little place. If you enter in the back (which we did) it's a total dive bar in the best way. The bartender was incredibly nice, and there was a group of locals hanging out at the bar. Local in the sense that some were just reading books and spending a lazy afternoon at the tavern - very cute. It looked like there was a stage behind them too, so I'm guessing there is live music on the weekends. We glanced over the menu and didn't even have to think about ordering the lobster grilled cheese - I mean, how good does that sound?! It totally lived up to our expectations and the french fries were delicious.
We stopped back again last weekend and order the lobster grilled cheese again. And again, it was perfection. We got an order of grilled chicken sliders which were good but not great. The lobster bisque was also good but not great in my opinion. However, the clam chowder was SO. GOOD.
In conclusion, order the lobster grilled cheese and a bowl of clam chowder and you will not be disappointed =)
Visited Seaside Tavern after not being there for a long time, moving back to thee neighborhood. The return was disappointing. Great menu is gone and character of the place is gone to a "cold" remodeling. The great menu is now just sliders, wings and pizza. Used to have at least 4 GREAT specials every night.  Not in mood for burger type dinner so chose the fish and chips, it arrived burnt  (2 of the 3 small pieces actually  black patches) and was just so-so food service type fish, not the type usually enjoyed in the area. I guess back to Rory's for fish and chips. Fries were great and cole slaw ehh food service type. My quest's sliders were ok, but nothing more.
Service was was basically ok but surprising how everybody seemed busy while the place was basically empty. Previous Jimmy's Seaside was never that empty , never.
Probably nice place for basic bar fare when in mood for a band or the game room. OK to enjoy a game with friends and some beers and a bite, sadly nothing more than that.
Disappointing  to revisit and find the great food and legendary charm gone.
I've been to the Seaside Tavern a couple of times and every time I've had a good time. Two bars, an outdoor patio, a "game" room and a sit down restaurant area. They also have live music.
Despite having a "restaurant area" the food is more bar food. However, the food is definitely better then your usual bar food. I do wish they had a couple more vegetarian options on the menu, however, the staff has been accommodating with making off the menu items that are more veggie friendly.
While the "game room" has one arcade game, a pool table and a shuffle board, the music is the main event, and Seaside did not spare any expense on their sound sound board.
Overall, it's always a good time with extremely friendly and nice staff.
I like Seaside for a lot of reasons but I feel I need to be honest about a couple of things.
The good: The location, the service, the funnel cake fries, the sweet potato fries, the pretzel roll, the beer. Finally draft beer thats actually COLD and they dont skimp on the orange slices for my Blue Moon! The atmosphere is very chill and laid back. They have live music, and a separate area you can go to if you dont want to listen to it, and outdoor seating. And, its very affordable.
Yes, they have a parking lot. However, its tight. If you find a space youll have to back out into the street. Sometimes someone will be nice and let you out other times you just have to wait and then gun it. Best bet is to park in the lot across the street or street parking.
Some of the food is just MEH. Their salad dressing is horrible and they drown the salad in it. It has that fake, commercial taste like the Ken's packets you get at McDonalds. Some of the food items are just hit or miss. I find it to be bland and very low quality. But I guess for the price I shouldnt complain. Dont bother with the kobe sliders. Its the size of a ping pong ball on a gooey duck food roll. And dont bother with anything with lobster. This is not the place to order lobster parts.
I wish I could give 3.5 stars..the extra .5 star would definitely be for the service..the people there are always busy and always friendly and my friends are always making alterations/substitutions to their dishes which they always get right. The food is a little slow but we go there to stay a while so its no biggie.
Hi All,
This is a great bar, especially since they renovated a bit.  The food isn't very good for a restaurant, but it is better than most bars.  The restaurant  entrance is in the front, the bar entrance is on the parking lot side.  There is also a parking lot across the street for overflow...which is necessary when a band plays. Â
This is the best venue for local bands...good stage and floor positioned well across from the bar. Â Then in the other room, several pool tables, and a wonderful shuffle board table. Â
There is also a front deck for smokers, and a back deck for 'other' smokers.
Great place...I don't go often, but do look forward my friend's bands play there. Â I did stop going for dinner there, cause if just dinner, you will be disappointed for the price. Â But for dinner and drinks..go for it!
