Seymour's is my kind of place. It combines the laid back, neighborhood regulars type of feel that I have missed since leaving New Hampshire; with the no frills quality breakfast that I miss from New York favorites like Broadway Restaurant.
The food is excellent, and reasonably priced. The service is quick and friendly. The place is tiny, but always seems to have plenty of open seating when I come on Tuesdays.
Flat out, the best salad I have ever had.
Their chopped salad, which is design your own, is amazing.
The rest of their lunch counter style food is very good, but why would you order anything else here besides the chopped salad???
The only negative to this great old fashioned joint is their bizarre hours. I wish they were open more!!!
I haven't been here since there was a change in ownership, so I cant speak for it now, but I'll assume that it hasn't changed.
Seymours has always been one of my favorite lunch spots anywhere. Â Its a tiny luncheonette, the kind that rarely exists anymore, with a counter and a grill, and some of the best breakfast and lunches you can buy. Â Its incredibly reasonably priced, but they only use the freshest ingredients. Â I dont know how but somehow even their eggs taste better than everywhere else. Â
They are really popular for their chopped salads (i get the turkey) Â and i love their addition of chopped pickles in addition to turkey lettuce tomato, and onions. Â The portions are normal sized-- not to small, not oversized-- just right and if you go in winter their soups are good and burning hot.
Oh, they also make a killer milkshake and a great taylor ham egg and cheese, great burgers and good fries (ask for them well done).
