I love Sherlocks! Fish N Chips are great, the nachos are excellent and I can't get enough MAC N Chz Bites (ALERT: do NOT eat the whole basket by yourself! You will not feel good about  yourself later. Sharing means caring).  At any rate, when you come in ask for Amy, she is by far our favorite waitress!  Hilarious, beautiful, whitty an all around awesome chick! Monday is the best day to come for a visit.  It seems to me that I always get pretty drunk for about $25.  Also on Monday they do Live Band Kareoke, where everybody thinks they have magically turnes into rock stars.  Talk about a good time.

Monday $3 burgers and Happy Hour til 9p! Live music on the weekends, Trivia on Wednesday...what's not to love. Best part about this place is the all day Happy Hour on Sunday's. The crowd has always been eclectic and fun. I can't remember having a bad time at Sherlock's. The food is good also and the portions are sometimes enough for two people to munch on. This place is great to hang, play pool, and just get out of the house!

Went to Sherlock's for a friend's birthday (months ago). Not exactly my 'scene', but our waitress was adorable and awesome.

The place is loud and very smokey. As a smoker, it's hard to breathe in there. The only reason this place gets 5 stars is because our waitress has an awesome personality and was very attentive.

Drinks were delivered quickly and all of our food orders were correct. Congrats to Madi, for making Sherlock's a 5 star bar to me.

Lots of outdoor seating in the front and in the back. This place is much larger than it looks. Be prepared for a dark and smokey pub inside. Large menu with good options. Many good beers on draft. 8+ dart boards, pool tables, etc.

I liked this place, but when i walked in I was a lil disappointed I guess I was expecting to see the servers and bartenders wearing Sherlock Holmes n Watson gear...(hence the name of the place)they have a great beer selection and the ambience was really cool n hip,I didn't order any food because it was so busy and honestly I love to frequent different places to find good booze!!..It seems like an awesome place to start your night out..FYI the parking sucks ass! Go with valet parking.

Sherlock's served as a meet up spot for my friends and I to get together before an eventful night in Addison. It's situated in a busy plaza right off of the tollway. So as you can imagine, parking was a sure pain. I've learned now that if you're planning on hitting up any of these places (especially on the weekend) bring cash to valet. It's not worth the far park otherwise. Exactly what I did.

In any case, Sherlock's played great music and it was pretty packed but not so much that you couldn't find a seat. Exactly how I like it. We opted for a booth while we waited for our group to arrive. For a bar-type atmosphere, the service was great. We had a very attentive server and the host was very welcoming too!

My friend ordered food: fried fish and french fries with ketchup and tartar sauce. I only had a sample of it, but it was pretty tasty. Standard greasy bar food, but done very well. I had a Tito's with water and lime which was done right with the perfect ratio. This place was nothing extraordinary, but it did meet my expectations and made for a fun start to a great night!

My husband and I used to go to the location off Central Expressway all the time and loved it. We recently moved to the Addison area and decided to try this location. We're not smokers, and this is the first place I've gone where I felt out of place for not smoking. This was on a Wednesday night and I felt like I had a cigarette myself. The drinks were good and cheap and I did manage to get a good buzz. Service was slow. My husband's meal was supposed to have fries, and by the time they showed he was done with the rest of his meal. Waitress was very friendly and pleasant though. I guess you could say we definitely had mixed feelings!

My wife and I stumbled upon this place while we were at Twin Peaks and The Flying Saucer in the same shopping center. What a find! We were there on a Monday night around 10-11pm and they were doing karaoke night. That, coupled with the beer selection and great atmosphere (it was packed!) made for a memorable evening.

Went to go check out the music scene on a Sat night. Crowded, smoky and the music was not that great. People mostly ignored the music anyway. They need to get more variety in the groups that play here. The service was harried and the barkeeps were not friendly. Parking can be challenging. When I finally got some food and drink it was okay but not exceptional. The cheap drink price is the best thing going here, so if you don't want to be a sardine swimming upstream there are other better places.

This is a nice fun place.  Great service and cheap drinks.

If you are a smoker then this is one of last few places where you can smoke upwind of people and let everyone enjoy your cigarette,

Nothing to write home about in my opinion.  I will say, I thought the drinks were good, but the food was just ok.  It wasn't outstanding for me.  It wasn't bad either, just pretty much in-line with other places.

This is a to go pub for me, whenever i wanna feel like i am in Boston...  The place is good, though recently finding a table is hard...  great drinks and ok live music on weekends... Parking is too difficult to find...  good part is they have a lot of room as the place is huge... and live crowd, but...  (Buzzed people have no right to judge)

I don't know why, but each time I visit this particular location I expect good service and each time I am sorely disappointed. You'd think I would've learned by now.

I recall meeting a friend there and I was so embarrassed by my choice. Getting a drink took too long, refills took too long, and our tab took too long. This seems to be an on going theme.

I'll give it some stars because of the cheap drinks and the kindness of the waitresses. Other than that, not much to brag about.

I'm sorry, can I not drink with my friends and have a good time without being hounded for "drinking too quickly" or ordering my first beer of the night without being asked if I'm drunk?

I think an irresponsible drunk person/people caused Sherlock' s to change by interrogation, but their tactics are ridiculous.

We will not repeat our business here.

Highlights: $2.50 wells until 9pm on a Friday night! Fried jalapeno macaroni and cheese bites!

We had planned to meet up at the Flying Saucer, but they didn't have any available tables by 8pm so we moseyed across the parking lot to Sherlock's. Once inside, we learned of their delightful and long lasting happy hour - most places in Dallas proper don't do happy hour on Fridays, and those that do, typically end by 7pm. Here, you can continue to order deeply discounted libations until 9pm. The drinks were strong, and the glassware not miniature. I hadn't had dinner so I ordered the chicken tacos (which come with chips and salsa), the macaroni and cheese balls, and at least 8 drinks to wash it all down. [Thank you designated driver!] My tab was under $50 before tip. The food was delicious, although the 2 chicken tacos were insufficient to really make a meal. The mac n' cheese balls were amazing. The batter was just right. They were not too greasy, and the cheese was hot, melty, and not chunky as sometimes happens when cheese cools.

The place is really smokey, yes. So if you're not into that, just don't go here. They do have some tables outside in front and since there were people out there, I imagine they must have also had heaters going, so perhaps you could sit out there and not be subject to the barrage of smoke.

If you are in Addison, want cheap drinks, and tasty bar food, this place is a solid choice.

If you're looking for a relatively low key place to hang out and get drinks, Sherlock's is a good option. The food is average, but drinks are reasonable, especially if you're on a budget in Addison.

First of all: Their chicken strips are amazing.

When we lived closer to Addison, this was our fave local hangout.  Totally casual with some really great live music.  Sometimes it was a little too crowded for the likes of me, but whatever, it's a bar so that's what ya get.  Drink/food prices are cheap, so that makes it a great place to hang out.

What I don't like is the SMOKING. Blech!  I didn't mind it so much back then because all the bars were smoking, but now what we predominately hang out in places that are nonsmoking, the cloud of lung cancer here KILLS me. Literally.

TIP: If you're a male - you will get really great service.  If you're female, good luck! Unless it's slow, then they miiiiight just talk to you.

I have had some great times at Sherlocks....as well as some awful times. Dont care to get into any details of those incidents....but I just feel like I am now a grown up...and Shercocks (misspelled for a reason...hehe) isnt for me anymore.

In my 20s...I had a great time! There was always great live music...and the drinks were cheap. Usually some guy buying my drinks all night too. The last time I went....it was ugly and fat guy night.  This was the first time I have been there in a long time...like over a year. Went there completely over dressed (as usual) for a girlfriend's birthday. I was waiting on the patio...and saw nothing but guys wearing those god awful MEK or BEK bedazzled jeans...and affliction wannabe shirts. When will that style die?? The door guys wouldnt let a friend of a friend in because he was wearing a white shirt...nice jeans and nice shoes. He is a doctor for shits sake....yet they will let these tools in? When did Shercocks have standards?  Girls are a hot mess here too. If only I could give citations for what some of these chicks were wearing. Its still the same ol' smokey meet market with not much else going for them other than the cheap drinks and maybe the occasional chick that wants to grab your boobs. Nice.

Live band karaoke is always fun...just wish it wasnt so smokey. I think I might be getting old...no...thats not it. I am just over the place...ready for something more. Its great for a very casual jeans and flip flops night...but I like to dress up and meet more professional people versus the same old people I would have hung out with in my 20s... that are still up to the same things (ucky peeps...vomit!)...people I have little or nothing in common with now in my 30s.

I honestly can do without bars in Addison.  I don't smoke and it's fine if you do but prefer to leave smoking sections outdoors.  I spent a few hours with dry eyes and left smelling awful...it's such a stale gross smell afterward being cooped up in a place full of it.
The atmosphere was nice though, crowds young and old.  A table full of frat boys cheersing every sip with an odd chant preceeded it, the old men staring at the young girls.
The food...all fried and heavy options.  Can a girl get a grilled chicken sandwich?  No. Not here.
Nearly the whole parking lot was turned into valet.  PET PEEVE!!! If I am paying you I don't want you to park my car in a spot in front of the restaurant where any other time I could park my car there myself...you know, in the establishment's own lot.  I hate paying for that crap!  I have a broken foot and a boot and went out of my way to find free parking.  It's there, just further away...and people hunt you down when you're leaving for your spot...took me back to that awful decision I made my first semester in college to take my frist class at 11A so that I could sleep in...yeah, everyone else tried making that decision too.
I'm not saying I wouldn't go back but I am in no rush...after all, I'm not Russian.

Ya know.. I actually like this place. Great patio in the back.

But beware of their watchdog aka I dont know the job title, but the guy on the patio checking IDs was weird... He asked us if we are still good to drink. We were totally sober lol We are just a fun sarcastic crowd. What a Penishead he was.

The bar inside is fast, dude... the bartenders attentive and crowd soso. I had a girls face in my boobs the minute we walked in, which was nice. Unfortunately it wasnt a strip club, which I happen to like.

I don't enjoy being in extremely packed and smokey bars. And Sherlocks is usually not too bad. But the last time I was there on a Saturday night it was packed and it was smokey.

The place is really enjoyable on a not so packed day.

This is probably my new favorite bar in Addison. It's more of a typical irish pub. There seems to be two sides of this bar.

There's one side for the old people like me who like to sit down and have a conversation and then there's another side where you can yell at each other while loud music is playing.

I didn't get to experience that but i probably will another time. They apparently have live bands play there so it's a pretty cool place to catch kids playing covers of current artists.

The drinks are moderately priced. They seem to have a pretty good selection. I just stuck to something cheap because my goal was just to get plastered. Not really to sip and enjoy a good tasty beer.

Oh and there is a patio just not the best around in Addison. In terms of attire. It's pretty casual here.

Overall, it's a great place to just relax with friends and grab a drink.

Bad bad bad bad bad....Sherlocks is such a fun place, but there's so many things wrong about this place...it just makes me so mad because I want to give it 4 stars, but even giving it 2 is kind of pushing it.

We come in and it's pretty much grab a seat wherever you want.  We grab a booth and look at the small menu already on the table. I think there is a regular menu but didn't know where it was and I thought the waitress would bring us one. So we are chatting and 10 minutes go by, then 15, 20... You get the point. We saw ONE waitress but gosh she was so quick I couldn't get her attention. I asked one of the bus boys to grab us a waiter and he said "Oh, shes probably on a smoke break" what the heck, for that long? So I finally saw a lady dressed business style and I quickly got out of my seat to ask her for a waitress.  Well that didn't work so well, still had to wait an extra 10min.

We finally get to order: 2 moscato sangrias, and 3 appetizers.  She comes back after a couple of minutes with our drinks and at first we're kind of looking at her like huh? The drink was so watered down it looked like water. It was sweet, but no alcohol in it whatsoever! I could literally down this thing in a minute and feel no buzz. And the darn thing was $5...could have ordered a beer! Bummer.  After downing the drink I needed water, but getting a glass took an extra 10 minutes.  I had to flag down someone else to get it for us.

So we get our food and finally, some redemption! :) jalapeño bacon mac n cheese, this meatball-sausage hard boiled egg dish, and the trio of chips n dip. Delicious! A lot of food for us girls, but we did the best we could to finish it...we failed :P

I don't like smoke bc I hate smelling like smoke and I don't like loud crazy music...but that didn't bother me at all yesterday (I already knew it was gonna be like that)... I was just so frustrated with the service and my sangria. Will I be back? Tough call...we'll see.

I love this place! My friends and i chill here all the time! Happy hour drink specials are great (2 dollar wells and such) and made well!

They have pool tables, great food, and live bands - who are always really good and so much fun to listen/dance to!

Last night i had such a BAD experience with a bartender! I was still upset about it this morning because he was seriously such a douche bag. I decided to call in and talk to a manager. I was kinda skeptical about calling in at first because I've never done it before, but i'm so glad i did. The manager was such a sweet heart (makes sense cause her name is Jennifer too lol) and apologized for everything! She even said next time we come the first round of drinks is on the house because we were mistreated. How sweet is that?!

It's honestly not about the drinks, but the fact that she took the time to hear me out and listen to my concerns makes me want to encourage other people to chill at this spot!  I'm all about customer service. If you don't like your job.. change it.. I've had jobs that i didn't enjoy but i ever took it out on the customer! The way i see it.. if im spending the money than treat me with some sort of respect.. thank you and come again :)

Rob one of the managers is awesome and there are some cool bartenders.

The lunch specials are good, been hooked on the Watson's chicken platter lately (sweet chili sauce!).
Also their fajita taco is great!  Very tasty!

They do the lunch punch card and it's worth it every 4th meal free!

Let's be honest!  Sherlocks is the best place to find drunk chicks and relive those college years of bad bands and random cougar chicks hitting on young guys and of course the friendly waitresses with boyfriend problems and a kid at  home!

Life doesn't get any better or sadder than at Sherlocks! It's the melting pot of Addison, no matter what race, creed, or whatever you are..there's a beer and a drunk person for you!

Good times, good beer, decent food, and there's always people there to talk to or hook up with!  Just add a few more pool tables and I'm home! Warning..Sherlocks owners nor staff are responsible for any late night STDs you might encounter-drink safely my friends!

    Food - 4/5
    Service - 3/5
    Price - 3/5
    Atmosphere - 5/5

I've been to the Sherlocks in San Antonio many many times before so I already knew what I was getting into--a crowded bar with live music. However, I had a more than expected good time at the Addison one for some reason. It was probably because of the people I was with and one of my good friends I don't get to see very often even came out. There are dart boards and other games in one half of the bar. In the other half, there is a stage where a band usually rocks out on. So if you want to talk to your friends, the game side is where you want to be because you won't be able to hear anyone on the other side. The band that played the night I went was performing old country and rock hits and had a female lead singer. In my opinion, people were a lot more friendly at the Addison one than the San Antonio one. I had no trouble conversing with random people and the dance floor was always crowded.

Funny story: The band played "Man I Feel Like a Woman!" and a few of us were dancing to the hit song (no shame). During the song, I whispered in the lead singer's ear and told her that Shania had nothing on her...she proceeded to give me a hug and kiss--my friends went crazy. Good times.

UGH i just dont think i can ever go back here again. i think i just got lung cancer:-X seriously, addison really needs to get on the "no smoking in bars" bandwagon as dallas (& almost every other major city in the US) has. this place makes my asthma act up & i regretted not bringing my inhalers the other weekend!! im only 27 guys but seriously, you walk in & its a plume of smoke hanging over you allll the time even in the bathrooms. you can see it in the air its soo thick & disgusting.

the place is spacey, 2 rooms, one more calmer than the other (one has the band & huge bar) me & my friends always joke that if we cant decide on where to go, then we unfortunately will end up at sherlocks, sooo that always makes SOMEONE in the group decide on where were going:-) the live bands i have seen play here are decent, especially the cover bands. but honestly, i am avoiding addison like the black plague these days cause i am NOT into the ashtray eau du toilette scent...:-X

So I have just moved here and my friend suggested that I go because he thought I may like it.  He does not know me very well.

I think it would be a super fun time for some kinds of people, but not for me.  I saw on some reviews people complained about the smoke.. it didnt seem too bad to me.

Men- Lots of Ed Hardys here - bedazzled shirts... all layered with sport coats, lots of hair gel.

Ladies - Lots of skin showing, even tho it was 30 degrees out, lots of boobs, lots of drunkeness.

10 years ago, I would have thought this place was awesome, at 35 years old, Im looking for a little more in life.

I don't frequent Sherlock's often, but every now & then I don't want to venture far from home.  Given that I can walk here, it's not a bad option.  So, last weekend, a friend & I went here for some drinks & to watch some sports.  The waitress was kind enough to get one of the TVs changed to the game we were looking for, all while balancing our drink orders & her other tables.  She was quick, cool, & checked on us often, even once it got ridiculously crowded.

They still allow smoking inside, though there is an outdoor patio if you need more ventilation.  I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, but didn't really notice it here.  I guess my only real complaint was my bill at the end of the night - much pricier than 1) I was expecting & 2) it should have been given our beverages.

Every now & then, you can catch live bands here, too.  Be prepared to valet on weekends since the parking lot is shared with surrounding businesses.

Sherlock's is best suited for when its late at night, you want a drink, and you are [perhaps] in a mood for something to eat.

The ambiance consist of dark lighting and loud music.

In summation, if you want a place to just have a drink -- and perhaps a bite to eat -- with friends (amid a loud atmosphere), Sherlock's isn't a terrible choice.

    Additional Notes:

    - Parking is scarce on weekend nights.

Is this the over-weight club? -I Guess that is what happens when you live, work, (never exercise) and hang out in Addison! I mean I have nothing against chub's - don't get me wrong - I am a chubby chaser at times but not when I am also smoke blinded!

This place is disgustingly filled with smokey air, you can barely make out the people around you let alone breathe!

It really is the same ol' douche pick up place. At one point someone had bought us shots and immediately after some guys tried talking to us pretending they were with the guy who bought us a shot- absolutely hilarious!

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wasn't absolutely desperate for alcohol and within the immediate vicinity. This place is one stop up before drinking the hand sanitizer in your purse!

(2stars because the wings were not half bad ^^)

Do you like to listen to some live rock and blues music? Do you want to have a beer and just sit down and chill with your friends? Well.. THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

I haven't heard any other genre of music but rock and some blues.
I came here a couple of times with an uncle of mine who's 4 years older than me and a couple of friends. Great atmosphere to just chill and drink beer.

The men's restroom was huge so you won't have to wait in line when nature calls.  I had a couple of drinks and asked the waitress to order a black and bleu burger. The wait was decent and my burger finally came but it was a bacon cheeseburger. Too bad I was too hungry and ate the burger in just a couple of minutes. I didn't really complain because the black and bleu and the bacon cheeseburger was the same price. I don't think it was the waitress fault. Oh well, the burger was DELICIOUS! It was JUICY and TENDER! I finished off the fries and those were good too.

This is a good place to drink beer and to hang out. Not a good place for non-smokers though. You'll go home and smell like cigarettes which means a shower afterwards is a MUST!

"I'd fight a cougar for you." I can assure you that isn't a very good opening line when talking to a girl. Not even if you gaze around the room for cougars so that you might have a chance to prove it. Nope, while you're talking to her she will  begin mentally cataloging all of the exits. Apparently cougars are less of a threat than they used to be.

All rejection aside, this place is still in my rotation of places to go despite it's "on the prowl" crowd and it has everything to do with economics. It has to be the happy hour until 9pm.  I work until 6pm so this is one of the few places I can go and take advantage. I'm very cheap. $6 pitchers earns this place stars.

I prefer the weeknight (or day) crowds as they are slightly more casual. You will smell like smoke when you leave. The cover bands they employ generally tend to sing the same songs each night. The food isn't too bad though. If you enjoy meeting up with friends for cheap drinks and can handle the occasional rejection from a pretty girl, this is a great place to experience both.

Kelly: Did you have a happy birthday?
Sarah: Oh man I was so smashed.  I'm glad there wasn't a band playing or I would have danced like an idiot.
Kelly: Um, Sarah, there WAS a band.  And you DID dance.  Like an idiot.
    Sarah:  Oh, noooo.

I've heard its incredibly difficult to get kicked out of Sherlocks.  You either have to be fighting or VERY very drunk.  I was VERY very drunk AND refused to stay seated.  I got kicked out.  After the embarrassment of getting the boot in front of my friends and the newly-crowned boyfriend, and after a few dozen minutes of face-to-cement upchuck action in the parking lot, I was pretty proud of this frat-boyesque accomplishment by petite, militant me.

On nights when I'm NOT making an ass of myself, Sherlock's is pretty cool.  I love dancing, and the crowd on the dance floor and patio is much cooler than the sausage-festers at the bar trying to hit on anything with a miniskirt and long hair.

We went this weekend with a group of 6, and all agreed that the waitress we had on the patio was in fact the BEST waitress we'd ever had at this place.  When told so, she said, "yes, I actually like to wait on my tables."  So cute.  I don't know her name, but she has chin-length small-curl hair that's red/light brownish.  She'll be the one NOT all over the table of tools.

Oh, Sherlock's, how many drunken nights you have bestowed upon me.

I have to hand it to this place. I've had a lot of good times here. When I still lived in Richardson, there was a period when I was going practically every Wednesday with one of my friends.

The two best things about Sherlock's are the cheap drinks and the live music. My friend and I made a habit out of showing up early to take advantage of the $1.75 wells before 9:00. And after 9:00, they were still only $2 a lot of the time! This is probably the reason why Sherlock's is still the only bar in which I've prayed to the porcelain gods, haha.

I love live music, so the fact that they have it every night adds some major points. I used to visit a lot on Mondays after being at the Saucer with a bunch of my beer-drinking friends, and I always enjoyed seeing AM Zeros play. They're pretty good.

The place is big enough that you usually don't have to fight for space, and I like that. The tables can fill up when it's busy, but you can always stand around near the bar. It's pretty much smoke city throughout the whole place, though, so be prepared for that.

The service is pretty good (there was confusion over a tab one time, but it was taken care of), and the bartenders have always been attentive. I usually just order from the bar, and I love being able to walk up, nod, and get another drink just like that.

Sherlock's really isn't missing too much for what it is. The crowd is pretty average, I guess, but who cares as long as you're bringing a group of your awesome friends with you? It's not worth the drive from Dallas now that I live down here, but I'm sure I'd still be going pretty frequently if I were in the area.
