We had a Groupon that was expiring, so we stopped in on a Wednesday evening. Â We had the Red Curry with tofu and the Pad Khee Mao with tofu. Â We ordered both spicy, but only the noodle dish had any appreciable spice (this is typical of our experiences with Thai restaurants, so it's not a big deal).
Neither dish had many vegetables, which was a disappointment. Â The red curry was basically a curry-flavored soup, which might've been fine, but the execution was not very exciting. Â We liked the Pad Khee Mao pretty well, but it was about average for a noodle dish, so we wouldn't go out of our way to come back for it.
I should also note that the Thai Iced Coffees we'd had on a previous trip (the Groupon was after 3 pm only, which we didn't notice the first time around) were pretty weak. Â We just had water for our second visit.
The food was fine, but it does not compare favorably with the Thai we've had at other restaurants in the area.
Hit here first thing for lunch. Heard some good things but it did not rank a return visit. (The Thai Consulate was next door and seemed to be an endorsement. I did not know they were also the operators of the "sushi" bar upstairs.)
Could not get the non-soy sauce. Chicken was a little rubbery and lacked flavor. Rice was good, but the portion masked the lack of other food on the plate. Tom Yum soup was not yum. (Jeopardy answer? "Where is the missing cilantro, Alex?") Crab Rangoon was pretty good. My better half says there are too many good Chicago restaurants to give the bad or boring ones a second chance.
