Snarf's is my favorite sandwich in town. The bread is amazing and some how their hot pepper mix magically transforms a plain old turkey and cheese into some truly delicious. Also love that they have Vernor's soda! Parking can be a pain in the arse, so I normally try to go off-peak lunch hours.

Snarfs seems like a popular place, and I wish I was a fan, but I'm not.
This was our first time and we had been trying to get here for almost a year.
I got the eggplant parm and my partner got the chicken salad.
My sandwich, simply put, was tasteless. I could taste the bread and the marinara sauce.
My partner, who was the most excited about checking this place out, said it was the worst chicken salad she's had in her entire life. There is dark and white meat and she kept getting pieces of fat and gristle in her sandwich.
Another negative is the lay out of this place is awkward. I ran into literally everyone as I was leaving, getting a refill, as they were ordering, etc. -partly annoying.

This is a cute little place and the music selection rocked my socks a bit. All of the employees were very friendly.

We will actually probably come back to check out the salad selections, but man, how I wanted to love this place and have it become a favorite.

Oh my gosh, I'm obsessed. I've been dying to try Snarf's now for quite some time. Finally, I had the chance and was not disappointed.

Snarf's rocked my socks off. I ordered the Italian and it was amazing. I wouldn't change a thing. The bread was insanely fresh and delicious. It had the perfect amount of crunch and chew. The meat was also fresh and tasty. I am already planning my next trip back this upcoming weekend to get another.

The husband had the French Dip and it was equally as awesome as my Italian. The meat was tender and delicious. The cheese, meat, bread, au jus combo was mouth-gasm inducing. Luckily, he ordered the biggest sandwich and couldn't eat it all, so I got his leftovers for lunch.

I will warn you, the wait was rather long and space is limited. Don't be frightened off by this though, it is totally worth it.  I can confidently say that Snarf's is probably one of the best sandwich shops in Denver and worth checking out.

This is probably one of my favorite comfort food sandwich shops (e.g., it's been a sh*tty day, I'm going to stuff my face with amazing fatty food until I feel better). I highly recommend the Italian with everything on it.  Although, get it and eat it there in the shop.  The sandwiches don't travel well and results can be inconsistent if you take it to go or have it delivered.

Pricy for a sandwich but worth every penny. Service with a smile. Be sure to add the hot peppers. Best to park a block away and walk - the lot gets a little crowded.

Whenever I had to do laundry next door, I would always go and get a sandwich here while I wait for my clothes to dry.

Very tasty sandwiches and I would definitely go here more often if I could, but I'll be a little bit farther away.

If you want a good sandwich in Cap Hill, this is one of those good places to go to. Great staff, very friendly.

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a sandwich shop on more than one occassion. I placed a delivery order on their app after waiting for an hour and hearing nothing from them I called they told me it be another hour I went down to get the order myself. I found the staff to be uncaring unable to refund my money and the food was cold. Absolutely unacceptable. I would not count on them to be able to think. They do a semi decent job if you go in person and they aren't too chemically indulged to function.

Snarfs is an institution. A staple. What all great sandwich shops should try to emulate.

The hot pepper mix, with toasted bread, cheese and any meat that you choose will leave you satisfied. I recommend the pastrami, the prime rib, or just the cheese and mushroom. So much flavor. The sandwiches come with very thinly sliced pickles, onions, and tomatoes if you like and the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of its parts!

I recently realized if you throw 2-3 bucks in the tip jar, your sandwich might go from 12 to 15 inches. Little food for thought.

Snarfs is great. I go once a week. Best sandwich shop in town!

Mmmmm....giardiniera. If you are unfamiliar with this little-known (Outside of Chicago) food add-on, then you need to be edu-ma-cated. Snarf's smartly decided to use giardiniera as a flavor kick for many of their sandwiches. Why this is not regular practice in sandwich shops across the country baffles me. I love this stuff. I would put it on every table if I owned a restaurant. Anyway, I digress.

This should really be about the sandwiches. EVERY sandwich comes with L, T, O, pickles, mayo, mustard, peppers, and more! Of course, you can amend your order to make a sandwich to your liking. Even better you can do all this on your phone with an app. Snarf's offers a free app that you can use to order a sandwich, set a time for pickup, and pay for everything all in one. Not so novel a concept in this modern age except that it is set up for easy use and works really well. So many times when I place an internet order for food I feel like I am gambling with my meal. Not here. My sandwich is always ready at the chosen pick-up time. (Warning: Their sandwiches are served warm, so make sure you are on time for pick up so you don't miss out on the toasty goodness).

The app is a big selling point for me, but eating in doesn't suck either. Be prepared to wait a little bit for your sandwich, because the gang at Snarf's actually takes time to make it the right way. Your mouth and stomach will thank you for waiting.

Nuff said. I am getting hungry and they don't open for a few more hours.

I love Snarf's! Get the app for your smartphone to avoid the annoying wait. There's a wait because the sandwiches are addicting but calling in or using the app to order makes it  amazing. I like the veggie with everything the best.

I'm very conflicted because I live in the Bay Area where there are Ike's sandwiches to be had. Snarf's has a sign up that says "The best toasted sandwiches ever" and while that is pretty darn close to true, it's still a solid four star spot.

The sammies were warm and delish and the chip and soda offerings were pretty solid. Talking to some locals, this is a pretty reliable place that draws a huge line most of the time.

I would definitely put it on your lunch list in Denver!

    Fantastic sandwiches!

But when ordering delivery, make sure you confirm the address with the person taking the order - apparently if they don't understand where you live or what address you gave, they'll write down whatever. And if they are having trouble finding it, they'll wait for you to call in instead of calling you.

    But the sandwiches are great!!

Hands down, my absolute favorite sandwich shop in Colorado. The bread is divinely delicious, and the hot peppers tickle your taste buds in all the right spots. I believe that bigger is better, so I end up getting the Pro size and making two gloriously satisfying meals out of it. It's definitely a toss up between the French dip, Italian, and Eggplant parm as favorites.

Yesterday, I walked on over to Snarf's and ordered a 7" meatball sub with provolone and a bag of chips.  While some may say, "Oink, oink," I say, "smart" because yesterday's face stuffing was a strategic maneuver to prep my stomach for the ensuing madness of the Great American Beer Festival.

I don't just eat Snarf's sandwiches when I need something, say protection from copious amounts of beer.  No, the sandwiches are too good for that and that's why I've found myself somewhat of a regular.

My favorites are the Italian and the meatball, but regardless of what you order all of the sandwiches come on toasted bread with cheese and generous toppings.  Even your hollow leg will be full for less than $10.

I typically take my sandwiches to go (they actually have an iPhone app that allows you to place a take away order) not just because I live around the corner, but because the tables in the dining area get a little nasty and could use a little cleaning attention before I want to put my food on them.  You'll be fine, but just don't believe that whole "Five Second Rule" hype.

The sandwiches were OK.  I didn't ask for it, but I received a huge helping of attitude from the pseudo-hipster staff that works there.  Hope there isn't an extra charge for that.

There are sandwiches ... and there are meat, cheese and pepper-infused mouth parties that leave you fully satisfied. Snarfs is the latter. I could go on and on about how happy my face is right now.

This is the kind of place where you'll likely hear Creedence Clearwater Revival playing on the stereo and bearded hippies making your artisanal sammies, and that's ok by me. Hippies know a good sandwich. And they're so damn friendly.

I went with a utility item; the turkey and swiss. But the toppings are what make this sandwich nums; hot peppers, mustard, mayo, tomatoes, pickles, oil and some sort of magical seasoning most likely from the Keebler tree. The bread is fresh and toasted and everything is melted and delicious. When it's all pieced together, the wonder twin powers activate and the sandwich party in your mouth begins.

I would have shared a picture of my turkey and swiss, but I ate it too fast.

Snarfs is a fantastic sandwich shop. The sandwiches are classic and simple. Although there's nothing super fancy, everything they sell is fresh and fantastic. The bread the use is awesome, and they have all the ingredients you could ever want on a sandwich. Everything is toasted perfectly.

The only pitfall is that sometimes it is ungodly hot in the little dining area. However the staff is friendly and quick and the sandwiches are great! It's well worth it.

Neither fantastic nor terrible...but closer to the latter. Just what you would expect from a business started in Boulder. Also, it seems that the snarky attitude from Boulder has trickled into the employees at this location. Would it kill ya to smile every now and then?

Now to the subs: decent but nothing that I crave. I've had the BLT, the Ham and Cheese and the Club sandwiches. The big draw back it the bread is OVER toasted most of the time so it just seems stale. Crusty flakes are good for baklava not sub sandwiches. I don't think $12 for two, 5 inch subs is really worth it.

I really like the convenient location when you are in the need for something close. At least there is a wide variety of drinks to choose from. Oh, and they have ice cream.

There always seems to be a long wait even when the place is empty. Granted, there are a ton of topping but slow service with attitude is usually a pass for me

Let's be honest tho - the logo design looks like a near sighted child's sketch who failed art class. This place will do in a pinch but I won't be going out of my way.

This pains me to rate it low, because I really love the Boulder location, but I had bad service there and now I feel hesitant to go back. I ordered Snarf's salad and they were "out of salad"...(How are you out of salad?) so I ordered a turkey sandwich, very clearly saying no cheese. I got home and it was covered in cheese and all ingredients seemed a little stale. Everyone working there seemed pretty out of it. I want to like this location, so hoping this was just a fluke. I'm going to try it on a different day and update my review.

Solid sandwich place.  I had the Italian grinder, pretty tasty.  The bread was "sort of Subway-ish" according to my husband, but the sandwich was still good.  Friendly service and fairly quick, kinda pricey for a sammy, but if it's good, I'll pay it.
Pro:  Parking in Cap Hill...what the?!?!!  I know!!!

I very much enjoyed trying out Snarf's, mostly because of the friendly staff.  I tried the prime rib sandwich, which was great.  Cool little Cap Hill joint, with a pretty decent selection. I'll definitely be back.

Every time I visit Denver and get the day to myself I bike over here. Their tuna sandwich and their french dip are both delicious. I always end up gobbling up my whole sandwich in s short amount of time. Must mean I love it:) Also noteworthy is their pepper mix very tasty. Their customer service is awesome and I like how they have it where you can order in advance with a app or just online. They are very quick but tasty food.

Hot damn I love you Snarf's. Your Italian hot sammy makes me crave your meats and cheeses. I want you, now. I was a fan in college in Boulder, where my girls and I would cure our hangovers with your amazing bread and I would switch it up form the go-to Italian with the eggplant parm and even a turkey sandwich but I stay true to your Italian. I continue to be a fan especially since I can eat you in Denver and like 5 blocks from my friends house where I usually stay.

You are so perfectly warmed and crispy, the oil, vinegar and mayonaise on your delicious bread mixed with your amazing meats, cheese and l,t, o & hot peppers make a ridiculous combo of chewiness, texture and satiation. I finish off your medium sized 7" sammy and I'm perfect and actually wish I had just 2 more bites. Just two more wonderful bites.

Snarf's I really may love you more than is healthy. I only wish you would move to Jersey City where I could eat you on the regular and share you with the world rather than having to travel 2000 miles to get a taste. Sometimes love does suck.

THE BOTTOM LINE: I would give this 3 1/2 stars if possible.  The sandwiches are great, the sole reason I can't give it 4 is because of the price.  However, even in spite of the price, it's worth it, even if you feel like you slightly overpaid each time.

PROS: Some of the best subs I've had.  Prime rib and provolone, BBQ brisket, both great.  Something about the way they toast the subs really adds to the quality.  Honestly, the subs are great, in terms of the ingredients, presentation, portion, everything.  I also like the delivery option, very well done and drivers have always been friendly.

CONS: Only downside is price.  A 12" sub is upwards of $11.  I understand that higher quality subs will cost more.  But one of the whole points of getting subs is that you're not trying to drop $15 plus tax and drink; you can spend $15 sitting down at a real restaurant.  A 12" sub, no matter how quality, doesn't need to cost more than $10.

I found myself amongst a crowd when I showed up at Snarf's on Monday to meet Kelly T for a late lunch.  It was her suggestion, and I knew it was a good one based on both the yelp reviews and the line... not to worry, it moves fast!

I went with the turkey swiss sandwich - medium size - on wheat - with the works.  I literally snarfed the entire thing down, and while I'm typically a snacker and eat a little something every few hours, my Snarf's sandwich left me stuffed to the gills for hours!  Literally, I didn't even start thinking about dinner for another six hours!  The sandwich was not only filling, but delicious.  I liked how they stuffed it all in and that the bread was toasted just right!

This is a very casual place where you order at the counter and then grab a cup and fill your own drink.  They yell your name when your sandwich is ready.  The table we snagged hadn't been cleaned, so we wiped it off ourselves - no biggie, but also one of the reasons that Snarf's isn't five star worthy in my book.

If you like large sandwiches, shopping local, and find yourself hungry around lunchtime in Denver, don't hesitate to head to Snarf's!

I finally took my friends' advice and went to Snarf's for a sandwich. A pox on both their houses! How will I ever eat anything else, now? I'm going to be as big as a house and it's not my fault. Also I will be poor.

Solid bread, tasty toppings, lots of meat, and a cheerful atmosphere. I can't wait to try all the sandwiches, particularly the artichoke and feta, which i've only tried a bite of, but was instantly sad I hadn't ordered it (not that my chicken salad wasn't sublime in itself.)

It was really busy in there, so we had a bit of a wait for the sandwiches, but I think it was worth it. Also there's an app for your phone which purports to let you order and pay in advance. I'll update when I try it.

    TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

    So here's the story:

I place my order, via phone for a sub & a shake, "10 minutes". I show up in 10, and I tell the guy I had placed a pickup order. "Ryan right?" he says, "Yep". He rings me up, and just after running my card I realize that he overcharged me and hasn't given me my shake. I asked him about it, and he says "Oh, this is for John". So he voids my first charge (which I will now have to wait for about 10 DAYS for the refund to go through), and charges me again for the corrected amount. Then he realizes that somebody else took my order (?) or something, and he has to make it over so he says "Sorry, man. We'll make your sandwich pretty quick though." He made me my shake promptly and gave it to me.

15 MINUTES LATER, the same guy sees me sitting there, still waiting for my sandwich, and asks "You got your sandwich, right?". I shook my head. Then another guy asks what I wanted on it... FINALLY.

At this point my shake has melted, and I get home (3 blocks away) only to find my meatball sub is COLD. Apparently it has been sitting there, out of the toaster getting cold before anybody realized what was going on with it.. I am baffled. They send me out the door without making it right. No discount, no complimentary chips, drink, cookie... ANYTHING. Its not that I expect t get free food, but as a fellow member of the industry, I know what customer service is.

So much for Snarf's, so much for customer service. Too bad to say, being a regular customer and all, but I know I will never be back.

    Very good toasted sandwiches!

But I can't give these guys 5-stars because:
    * Ike's Sandwiches in San Francisco makes an even better sandwich (their dirty sauce is to-die-for)
    * Snarf's prices are high.  For $11 for a foot-long sandwich I expect a bag of chips included and a lollipop (as Ike's does)

    Still, this place is great!

This is a great alternative to the more corporate Subway chains.  It's hip, has quality ingredients, and is more or less in the same price range.

That said, be weary of going on a Saturday afternoon with decent weather.  I was trying to quickly grab a sandwich so I could run off and meet some friends in Cheeseman park (with limited time to do so) and I quickly figured out that that was an adorable fantasy.  I've been to crazy sandwich shops of all varieties during busy lunch hour rushes, but this was seriously ridiculous.  I believe I was in line for somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 minutes (with only 10ish people ahead of me) and waited an additional 20+ minutes for my order to be done.  They need a second register or another person helping make sandwiches...something.

Finally, as a well documented Italian food snob, their meatball sandwich is actually kind of above acceptable...in fact it may be my favorite in Denver yet.  High praise from me.  Score!

    Superb french dip!

Delectable bread.  Crunchy crust, soft inside.  High quality, medium rare roast beef.  Helpful, friendly energetic staff.  An all around great meal.

If I have any gripes at all, they are minor.  The au jus was on the salty side and the meat portion could have been a bit more generous.  That being said, I did dunk every single bite in the juice, I just didn't drink the rest of it when I was done!

I'll be back again.  And again.

Maybe I am just a hard judge of sandwiches (or really picky about my bread) but either way, I find that Snarf just isn't that good. It is overpriced, and the bread is sub par. The meat is usually served in hefty quantities which I love, but the cheese options are limited.

Disclaimer is that I am boring in my sandwich pick, so if they don't have the simple turkey bread and maybe mayo combo down, then I move on.

If you are looking for an awesome sandwich, drive 5 blocks and go to luckys on Washington and 6th.

    EXCELLENT!!!!   EXCELLENT!!!!!    EXCELLENT!!!!!
    SUPERIOR!!!   OUTSTANDING!!!!   TOP  NOTCH!!!!

Snarf's has the BEST toasted sandwiches AROUND DENVER!!!!
The store located at 11th is very bright inside, cheery, and always, always busy! This alone is a good sign of a Great sandwich!

The sandwich sizes are:  Novice (5"), Snarf (7"), and Pro (12").

I have tried the majority of the sandwiches, but the ones I like the best are:

    1. The Italian - Salami, Pepperoni, Capicola, Mortadella, Provolone

    2.  The Portabello - portabello and provolone. Add chicken for an even better sandwich, which is hard to believe.  **This is our absolute favorite! We split this sandwich.  It is WONDERFUL!!!

    3.  BLT = of course, add avocado

    4.  French dip

You get to choose from quite a few "extras," most of them don't cost extra - another added plus!

Their sweet tea is incredible, and always goes fast - another good sign.

In the warmer weather, the "garage type doors" are open, and you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the neighborhood!

I really HATED writing a Yelp on this restaurant, as  this will only increase their success! DARN   IT   Snarf's for being SOOOOO GOOD!!!!

BEST sandwich in Denver, without a doubt!!!

The bread is perfect - toasty and crunchy and perfect proportion of bread to sandwich toppings! My favorite order is the 7" vegetarian on wheat with no sprouts - it is to die for! Avocado, hot peppers, melty cheese, onions, hot mustard and tomatoes..my stomach is growling just thinking about it.

My boyfriend likes to get the french dip or the ham and cheese - he's just as crazy about Snarfs as I am. Also, my sister, one of the world's pickiest eaters, loves the Snarfs grilled cheese, which is technically for kids, but they let her get it anyway! I've never had a milkshake here, but I see other people ordering them and they look amazing. Basically, you can't go wrong here! The service is friendly and relatively quick. I would eat here everyday if I could!

Had the italian, which tops their menu. Not even close to a real italian grinder. All sandwiches are served toasted and with the same condiments. My italian had no flavor in particular, except for meat that was way too salty. Ordered some extra dressing, but that was bland. Bread was more than a day old. Sandwich was light on veggies, as well.

Would equate this place with Quizzno's, maybe, quality wise. However, at over $10 for a 12" sub (that's just the sub, no chips or drink) I can't justify this place.

    Won't be going back.

Here's the thing...I'm a huge fan of Snarf's, but I'd never been to this location.  I don't seem to recall seeing Zapp's chips in other Snarf's I've visited, but they had them here on this evening and to hell if I'm not going to get some Cajun Crawfish Zapp's chips!  Seriously!  To hell if I'm not.

Anyway, bread is perfect.  Nice crunch to the outside, not too much inside.  I got the Italian as I've been known to do, with the works.  Sandwich nirvana.  Yup, smelled like teen spirt, and I freakin loved it.  Just go...Italian with the works, and Cajun Crawfish chips.  Frasca, you've been outdone.  ;)  OK, not really.

This sub shop is a breath of fresh air in a city that doesn't really have good sandwiches.  I have tried several of the sandwiches - swiss and mushroom, roast beef, and the italian.  They are all great. I've only used the take-out method, but the place looks fine to eat in and I know they deliver - which I have been meaning to try since the $10 minimum is easy to hit with 2 people.  Plus they have giardiniera peppers!!! I mean come on if a sub place does not have these they shouldn't be in business.

I would say it's comparable to Pot Belly's (a chain out in the midwest and east), but it's a tad slower.  But hey - they have enough posters and fliers plus the Westword to keep me occupied while I wait for the only sandwiches I would wait for in Denver.

We'll keep coming back for sure.

Hold on tight you are about to enter the roller coaster of Flavor-town!

I don't know if I have enough words in my vocabulary to describe this place.  Every yummy word you could think of applies to this place.

The reviews on Yelp drove me to this place and I need to thank you all very much for the Snarf 10 - yep I said it, know that  I found this place I anticipate a gain of 10 pounds in the near future - so worth it!

Totally love the vibe of this place.  Very hip and cool.  Since all the reviews talked about the Italian I had to go with that.  I was feeling adventurous and was like "what the heck" give me the foot long Italian - that's right I did it.  Don't forget the peppers!  All sandwiches are served hot - really brings the sandwiches home I must say.  I was talking with the guy making my sandwich who was very nice and I enjoyed watching him make all the sandwiches - very impressive skills.  I could taste all the ingredients in my sandwich, all the meat, the mayo, the cheese, the lettuce, onions, and most of all the hot peppers.

These peppers deserve a story in the Times or something.  Their crispy, snappy, and hot (only the good kind).  The spice that gives your lips a tingle in a good way where you just can't stop eating them.  Realized a couple heavenly bites in that the foot long was a bad idea since it was the size of my car, next time I will definitely order the next size down.

I think I will find myself here often to try the rest of their menu, might be difficult to avoid the Italian yumminess but I will make the effort.

My Dad (Steven B.) would love this place.  Maybe I shouldn't take him here, he might have a mini heart attach after tasting this sandwich and biting into these succulent peppers.  He is a sandwich connoisseur, and can really appreciate the level of spiciness these peppers have to offer.

Dad - If you're reading this, the next time you come out we're totally coming here.

Man, Denver has really cornered the market on tasty sandwich shops. I used to eat at a Snarf's all the time in Boulder and so I was pretty pleased when I came back to Colorado to find one in my very own neighborhood. Truthfully there's never been a sandwich here that I didn't like, but I'm a big fan of the BLT with avocado. Really though it's the nice, crispy bread (toasted for your pleasure!) that makes all the sandwiches top notch for me.

Bonus! You can now order Snarf's from your phone using their mobile app. Download the app on your iPhone or Android, place your order and pay right from your phone. Then just walk into Snarf's, pickup your order and go. How easy is that? And it's highly recommended; otherwise the wait can be a little long.

This is EXACTLY why I like Yelp.  Trying to figure out what I wanted for lunch, I glanced at my Yelp bookmarks and saw Snarf's.

For those of you who know Potbelly's in Chicago, this is like the better version of that sandwich style.  I ordered both an Italian and a Corned Beef and Swiss.  My goal was to have half of each and then save the rest for later - yeah....that would have worked if they weren't so absolutely awesome.  The bread was that perfect blend between soft and crispy, the meats were tender, and the hot peppers were perfection!

Seeing that there could be long lines, I ordered on their iphone app and walked right in and right out.

If you are looking for a quality sandwich and don't want to suffer another Subway run or hit the $20/sandwich joints, this is your perfect choice.

Loved it --- just writing this makes me hungry!
