Food was great! The Stuebie Snacks dipping sauce is YUM! Gravy fries too! Certainly not ifor the "diet friendly" dinner...but great if you feel like splurging! Mac & Cheese is great as a side...I think it's too rich for a full meal.

I think I may have missed something when it comes to all the hype that goes along with Steuben's. Yes, it is a fun part of town with a great crowd, but the food is terrible. I order the $20 lobster roll and it tasted like I was eating chewy erasers on a bun with no flavor at all. I have given this restaurant may tries. I ordered the BBQ pork, fried chicken, and the grilled chicken club. I always leave disappointed.

Ridculious bad service, poor food, and not worth anyone's time to come in. A group of coworkers and I tried to come into this place and we were ignored during the lunch hour. We sat down and the waitress barely looked up at us and then proceeded to go to the bathroom.  Another server came over to bring us waters, and we never saw our waitress again. After 15 minutes, we left and went over to Cheesecake Factory.  Would never visit this place EVER again. If you want to be ignored...this is your place.

I was recommended not only from Yelp, but from a local as well. I saw a lot of complaints in regards to the wait, but the secret is to "pony up" to the bar. I had great service, with not one, but two bar tenders waiting on me and giving me awesome service and small talk.

The turquoise cocktail (forgot the whole name) was uh-mae-ziiing. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with a kick of basil that totally rocked my world. I would go back just for that.

As far as food, JP the bartender recommended the BLT. It was great, with crispy (not wilty!) lettuce. I believe that can make or break a sandwich. The bacon was just right, not too salty or tough. Also got a side of mac n' cheese that tasted like white cheddar cheezits. Sooo good. Beware the portions are large!-- I couldn't even finish most of it which disappointed the glutton in me.

The only negative was the parking situation. The lot to park in is really small, and almost always full according to another local I talked to. I had to pay $5 to park in a shady lot across the street that had one hell of a confusing way to pay.

Give this place a shot, especially if you appreciate good cocktails. These people know what they're doing!!

Everyone suggested we try this place specifically while we were in town, so of course we did. It was a little bit of a wait but we were able to get some drinks at the bar so it was no big deal. And the bartender was super friendly and very attentive to our needs even though the bar was packed and we didn't even have anywhere to sit. Drink specials for Happy Hour were great and the Moscow Mule was really great.

I think I probably would only give this place 3 stars based on the food alone, but the atmosphere and the friendly and attentive staff got the extra star. Also the pricing was very reasonable. Our meal consisted of:

the fried corn appetizer - this is easily the best thing I ate here. It was awesome and not at all what I expected. There were also a lot of other things we wanted to try but you can only eat so much.

Chicken Pot Pie- which is the Friday special. It was really good, except it had bacon in it. Which I know, everyone else would probably think that would make it better, but I just think the bacon was over powering and almost all I could taste. Didn't stop me from eating quite a bit though.

Macaroni and Cheese (with green chilies added)- It was good. not amazing. not the best I've ever had, but good.

Steuben's fries- pretty good. not amazing. not the best I've ever had. but good. They were a little soggy but had good flavor.

All in all, the food was fine. The corn was great. And the staff was really wonderful.

I love that Steubens has two Gluten free menus - one for Gluten Free and one for Celiac.  If you're super sensitive, go for the Celiac menu.  In either case, there are a lot of delicious options that don't involve eating salads.

Took my parents here this weekend (they were visiting from out of town). While I usually have a hard time finding something that we will all like, everyone loved this place ( so much so, they requested to go back twice during the trip). Over the course of the weekend we tried the Cubano, the meatloaf, the pot roast, the blue plate steak, and the flat iron steak. All the dishes were fantastic (although a side of Mac and Cheese was a little bland). I highly recommend if you or your out of town guests like really good, traditional American food.

Have to say I was extremely disappointed with this place.  Understand a Friday night is busy, however they don't know how to seat people.   Waited over an 1 1/2 to be seated when we saw tables empty for over 20 min.  Terrible seating arrangements.  Come on guys, this is 20th century......ever hear of calling peoples names instead of looking around for pictures on placards.  Pass them up if they were smart enough to leave for a better dinner.
Drinks are the only good thing going.

The food is never a disappointment - at least until I became gluten-free, but that may have been circumstantial with the waitress that I had.  Their brunch was pretty enjoyable and it's a great place to go pre- or post-event (whatever that may be) on a weekend-night.  The drinks are pretty awesome, and I'd recommend the Moscow Mule.

Love Steuben's, particularly their brunch.  My father jokes about flying in from Michigan just to get a bacon bloody Mary and Crab Cake Benedict.  Dinner or brunch, you can't go wrong with Steuben's, their full parking lot will tell you.

Steuben's is amazing for comfort food. I had the meatloaf special which was awesome! The staff is hipster/trendy and fun, and the food comes out very fast and hot! The food truck is also amazing! LOVE!

We love this place, it is delicious and affordable as far as dining out goes. It is one of the few places that we can go and enjoy a meal as adults and we can also bring our kids along and they can find something that they really enjoy.

The macaroni and cheese is worth of the word awesome, the chicken and waffles are out-of-this-world! My husband loves the deviled eggs too!

The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Brunch edition:  Steubens can definitely be trusted for top notch service.  A little bit different twist on brunch since you can get some variations on classic comfort foods.  On this particular date, it was chicken and waffles.  I must confess, that I wouldn't know the difference between Church's chicken and Blackberry farms, but I thought Steubens chicken was as good as any I've had around town.  The red eye syrup that came with it was pretty darn good too.  One warning about Steubens, its not for those on a diet.  This is comfort food on steroids.

On a side note, Steubens becomes more relevant in the brunch conversation now that Olivea has closed down :(.

I had a late dinner at Steuben's and overall was impressed. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere, and the service is good. It took a little while to get our drinks, but not an unacceptable amount of time considering how busy the place was.

I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was crispy with a great flavor and the mash potatoes and gravy were fantastic. The meal also came with a roll. One of the people I was with had their breakfast burrito, and it also looked terrific. The portions are a good size, and there is plenty of things to choose from.

The main dining room is a little loud so I wouldn't recommend Steuben's for a quiet romantic dinner. However if, you are looking for good comfort food with a fun atmosphere than Steuben's might be the place for you.

Dieter's beware!  Steuben's has huge portions that are hard to resist!

My husband and I stopped in for an early brunch.  I had the crab cakes benedict which was served on the thickest english muffins I have ever seen. The crab cakes and the poached eggs were really thick, too.  I guess that sounds good, but it actually makes it  a little difficult to eat.  I like to be able to slice through the egg, crab cake, and english muffin so that I can blend all the yumminess together in one bite. But, because they were all so thick, I either had to unhinge my jaw or eat them separately.   (I ate them separately). Also, the texture of the crab cake was a little off.  The cake  was mushy, whereas, I prefer the crab meat to be more lumpy.  On a positive note, my entree was served with an oversized helping of hash browns and they were quite yummy.

My husband ordered the chicken and waffles which is served with 4 pieces of chicken, a dinner plate-sized waffle, gravy, and two types of syrup.  I didn't try it, but boy did it look good.

after spotting this place from an old Food Network show, my husband and I checked it out- I had the maine lobster roll which was good but needed a little more flavor. The zombie drink is good and crazy strong. My husband loved his mac and cheese- overall good food and nice atmosphere but I wasn't blown away.

Went because of DDD.  Parking is hard.  Got take out because they were busy.  Food was good,  Fried brussel sprouts got me to try a vegi I hated as a kid for the first time in years.  I liked it and will now eat it even at home.  Want to go back and sample a little more of that menu.  I'm sure there is some more gems on that menu.

So glad I made it here on my trip to Denver.

The Bloody Mary was awesome. I had the vegetarian breakfast burrito, which was huge and delicious. My boyfriend got the shrimp po boy sandwich, which he really enjoyed.

Place had a great atmosphere and our server was super nice. We got there around 2pm on Sunday and didn't have to wait, which was nice considering how busy everyone says it gets on the weekend.

The food was good, but it wasn't really worth the wait nor the price. Steuben's tries to pull off a rugged hipster look, like the one that men try with a lumberjack beard and horn-rimmed glasses. And it somewhat accomplishes that. It feels like somewhere that I could call my "local bar" or "watering hole". But nonetheless, you can't get around decent food. The fried chicken is good, but definitely not the best I've tried. I think the best part is the gravy that comes with it. It is very creamy and tastes great. Also the 30-40 minute wait for a table for 2 during off-hours was not appealing at all. I would definitely try this place again to give it another shot, but right now it's not making the list of "go-to" places.

If you're hungry and in need of awesome cocktails with comfort food this is your place! Bartenders kick @$$! fun comfort food items like fried chicken, mac n cheese, etouffe, and bottled beers. Bartenders nailed our classic cocktail requests as well as made fantastic recommendations for fun twists on classics. awesome spot for late night food.

This is a local restaurant that does not exactly serve the healthiest of food but it sure is yummy.  The atmosphere is always full of energy.  It is great for kids and you can easily fall off your diet with their gravy fries.  The drinks are unique and be sure to look for their daily special.  Only downside is that there can be a wait and they do not take reservations.

Steubens is one of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Denver. Not only does it have a cool ambiance and atmosphere but the food is excellent. Like any good place downtown, be prepared to wait for a table, especially on the weekends (though the last time I went on a Friday we were seated right away).

I'd definitely recommend the gravy fries if you go with an appetizer. They're super simple but awesome. The fried chicken is also fabulous (though I've had several other things I like too). If you've never been to Steubens and you live in the Denver area, it needs to be the next place you eat.

We were disappointed with Steuben's, especially considering how much we love their sister restaurant (Vesta Dipping Grill).

My wife was craving fried chicken, and apparently Steuben's has some of the best, so she ordered that. It came out cold. Not warm, not room temperature, but cold. The flavor on the breading was actually pretty good, but fried chicken needs to be hot to really hit the spot.

I ordered the crawfish etouffee, which is served over dirty rice. It was ok, but the shrimp on top were also cold, and hadn't been mixed into the etouffee. I get that Denver isn't exactly on the Gulf Coast and that frozen shrimp in a diner are pretty much a given, but it wouldn't hurt to stir the shrimp in once so that they don't taste colder than the rest of an otherwise hot dish.

We also tried a side of mac and cheese. It was ok, but wasn't inspirational.

Steuben's is obviously a popular place, given the parking difficulties and long waits, but I'm not sure it's worth it.

I've been her twice and apparently been ordering the wrong food because it's been not as amzning as the prices would make you expect. First time I went I ordered a fancy salad since I was going to a play and have gas. It was so-so, but regrettable.  I went about two weeks ago with my sister and her husband but this time was worth the two stars. My sister liked her fancy salad, her husband liked his burger that red robins could've made it better but my shrimp gumbo was not good. I can honestly say it tastes just like the gumbo I ate when I was in a nursing facility in cherry creek. Service was good but you need more than that to get more stars sorry.

Maybe I showed up late to the party but when I ate here it was just OK. The service was not stellar but was okay. The food was meh at best ad that was the most disappointing thing since I had heard such good things about this place. I ordered a burger and it was #1. over priced and #2 lacking in flavor. I did like the french fries but for the price you would think they would come with the burger. We also started with the deviled eggs which I didn't care for at all. They just tasted of egg and if all I wanted was a hardboiled egg I would have stayed at home. Over all I was not really that impressed and I probably wont be back.

Amazing food and amazing drinks. I love the atmosphere. It reminds me of an old school diner that got reinvented as upscale and nice... but left traces of it's simple roots.

It gets pretty packed on the weekends, so if you don't have time to wait for a table, I recommend the bar. It's pretty lively and you can order food there too. Their dark & stormy actually uses Gosling's for their ginger beer *and* their rum. A nice touch. Their Moscow Mule and Old Fashioned were very well done classics as well.

I had the meatloaf with mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes.. it's been a long time since iI've had meatloaf and it was great! My friend got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and it was very good too..

I'll definitely come back. Awesome food... really knowledgeable staff.. and great crowd!

I've been to this place every time that I've come to Denver and it never disappoints.  What I find particularly striking about this place is that not only is the food consistently above average, it's clear that whoever arranged the decor, menu, and operations side of things clearly put a lot of effort into coming up with what would stand out as not only good, but unique 'experience,' a word that I hate using, as it's terribly overused, but is justified in connection with Steuben's.  Definitely worth a visit, and I hope to be able to come here many more times in the future.

This place is awesome.  I've gotten a few different things here and they've all been quite delicious.  I'm not even a big dessert guy, but every dessert I've had has been a slam dunk so far.  Even their milkshakes taste better than normal milkshakes, I'm not sure how they do it.

Food aside the restaurant itself has a nice feel to it as well, and the waiting staff has always been nothing less than attentive.  I've always gone to beat the rush, because I hear it can get pretty busy, but there's a reason for that! There's also a reason this place has so many reviews, and is generally highly rated it's a great restaurant you should definitely check out.

I love everything about Steuben's.  The decor. The ambiance. The service. The cocktails. The food. Mmmmm the food....

There was a famous Yelp List in Chicago called "Fried Chicken = Sex" (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/list/fried-chicken-sex-chicago">http://www.yelp.com/list…</a>).  This restaurant belongs on that list.  Delicious.

And can we talk about that chocolate cake for a minute? Now that I've been introduced to it, I must order it every time I'm here. It's that good. The recipe must be from Bill Knapp himself (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.billknapps.com%2Fimages%2Fbill-knapps-classic-7inch-cake.jpg&s=7d2eb188a2a476f679cc64d68d60ff7194c9e8903e6f1a4f7b5b593d52f5046d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.billknapps.co…</a>).

Kudos to the owner and interior decorator......remarkable attention to detail.  I was so busy admiring the vintage punch bowls on the shelf, I almost missed one being used at the next table. It kinda feels like you stepped onto a diner off the set of Mad Men.  And I've never seen a restaurant outside of the Midwest that serves Little Kings.

I feel like people have been telling me to go to Steuben's for years, and I always brush them off. For some reason, nothing about it seemed like my like of place, so I didn't get around to it until recently.

For my inaugural Steuben's meal, I went for brunch with a friend. It was SO much better than I expected! I always assume that brunch is going to be mediocre ("nothing I can't make better at home!"), but this was really a stand-out breakfast. I got the avocado and tomato benny, and damn if it didn't impress. It was big enough for me to take half of it home (which I never do with breakfast food unless it's truly spectacular). My friend had a cobb salad, which also looked amazing.

We went at 11am on a Sunday and the line wasn't outrageous, but by the time we left it was pretty long. I imagine that the earlier, the better.

Wow, unfortunately I am not in agreement with most others' review for this restaurant. The reason for my rating was that it was way, way overpriced for what you get. We ordered, of course, fries, and tried what was recommended by our waitress--the salmon and the herb roasted chicken. There really wasn't anything special about either entree :(. The salmon piece was very small and the chicken really wasn't that satisfying either, so then we ordered a green chili hamburger in hopes to fill the emptiness. We enjoyed the hamburger and fries the most. :)

I did like that they were open later than the sometimes typical 10 PM close time of so many other restaurants that we frequent. Also the service was really great. Our waitress was full of energy and fun.

So try it out if you haven't. I would probably go back to try it again :). You just shouldn't expect too much from their overpriced entrees if you end up choosing one of them. We likely will stick to the burger and fries.

This place hits home for this California native on the cheeseburger. I may get shunned for saying this, but this cheeseburger actually satisfied my In-N-Out craving. Crazy, I know!!!

My friend and I walked in late after being next door at Ace for drinks during GABF. I was hungry and glad they took me next door. They told me everything was good and coming from living off of not so good foo lately, I wanted everything!

The value was insane! After 10PM you can get a burger and a beer for five bucks. The size of the burger was well worth over five dollars. I'll definitely be back.

I still need to try the mac n cheese, I ended up never receiving (which was great because my eyes were bigger than my stomach). The gravy fries, they were good, but I'm still keen on my animal style fries back in CA.

Overall, the value and taste was there, definitely may have to make this a monthly visit!

Well I have to say I felt RIGHT at home as soon as I walked into this place. We came in on a whim, sat down, and the first thing we saw was that they carry Philly Amoroso Rolls! Sold!

Next, we asked what the Stuebie snacks are. Fried pork? Rolled in sugar? I'M IN! Extra points when our server high-fived me for calling them meat donuts!

Next, I got brussel sprouts and the lobster roll, and the hubby got the blue plate steak special.

The lobster roll was fresh and tasty, fries were perfect (with malt vinegar, NOT ketchup!) The sprouts were perfect with their accompanying dipping sauce.

Hubby looked across the table from me and said, "Yo. (pointing to his dish) This is better than the Palm!

The food was awesome, but I have to say my server knocked it out of the park. We were too full for dessert, but we will be back for more!

Really cool concept. I dined here via curb service. I called in my order about 20 minutes ahead of time as we were driving into town after an exhausting day and just wanted to grab yummy food to go. Viola Stueben's Food Service to the Rescue. We told them what kind of vehicle we were driving and were able to pull up on their curb, wait for them to come out, greet us and bring us our food.

I ordered the trout dish and subbed mashed potatoes for their baby potatoes and mixed veggies for the green beans.

Delicious! The trout had almonds and grapes as a sauce on top. The grapes were very unexpected but tasty. The veggies were great. Asparagus, Pearl onions, real baby carrots with the greens still partially on them and summer squash. Great colors, lovely presentation and lots of food. Super fancy for takeout. I think $15 for my dish was reasonable. The serving of trout was huge. I could have had  two meals from it.

Love the concept. Love the Service. Love the food.
