Stout Barrel House and Galley

Came in for drinks for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night after having dinner a couple blocks away. We had a pretty large party and had to wait around for quite awhile to get a booth, but that's expected on a Saturday night in River North. There are lots of TVs to watch the game, etc. which was nice.

Unfortunately, I felt like the crowd in this place was a little overdone for its bar atmosphere, almost like it was trying to be a club or a lounge. Never my favorite. So for that, three stars. When I go to a bar expected a bar atmosphere but find a bunch of young, clubby types, I'm disappointed.

Great beer selection, attentive bartenders, and nice upgraded versions of pub fare.  Unfortunately, they go into Club mode after 10.

Went there on a Friday night hostas sat us a group of ten or more at times. We were there from about 6:00pm till 11:00 when the waitress comes up and said we have to close our tab out because they just sold our table for bottle service!! If you have been to this place why would you spend $500.00 on a bottle at this place second off we had spent way way way over five hundred dollars there!!! So we won't come back hope they made a lot off one bottle. To loose the business of ten or more!!! Oh ya we all went down the street to twenty five degrees that place is great had a great time and service was a hundred times better!!
