Inventive, fresh, creative, and delicious are what we experienced here.  Do not let the location or the outside look deter you.  This place serves excellent sushi.

We went for lunch and had excellent service! We had not found a good sushi place in Eugene for the last couple years but now we have! So excited. Everything we had was very good, tempera, sushi rolls and salad. Yum!!!

What makes this place great is that the owners actually work in the restaurant and treat their customers right. They were very friendly and offered us a bunch of free samples. They showed genuine interest in us and really made an extra effort. I wish more restaurant employees in general would be as invested in the success of the restaurant as this family. We had a great time there and the food was good too.

Outstanding. The sushi was very fresh with an excellent presentation. Strip mall on the outside, comfortable on the inside. The service was excellent. If your looking for fresh fish in Eugene, look no more.

Driving up from Monterey to Seattle and I picked this restaurant from the excellent Yelp reviews. Mom had Bibimbap, my brother bulgogi, and my sister-in-law and I had sushi. Everything was delicious, fresh, in generous portions and the service was super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely remember this restaurant if we're ever in the area again!! YUMMY!

We just had a fantastic sushi dinner here!!  We live in San Francisco and love sushi!  This competes with fantastic sushi restaurants in SF!  We will definitely go back every time we are in Eugene!!

After a frustrating Sunday evening in Eugene and every restaurant we wanted to try being closed we stumbled across this little place. We went in with low expectations and were pleasantly surprised, we both got a bento box that was around $11 if I remember correctly. They would not substitute my roll for another of the same price and that's my only complaint really. Food was good and quite cheap.

Probably my favorite place to get sushi in town! Sushi Seoul has very fresh, amazing tasting sushi, and they never fail to impress. I usually get a daily special, order a bento box, or go during happy hour, because that's the best value and as usual is very good! The staff are very nice and helpful, and the owner/sushi chef almost always comes by to ask how the food is. I would definitely recommend this place!

Eugene is definitely not known for their restaurants, but his place by far has best sushi in all of Eugene. I've been to the other sushi restaurants and this is still my favorite. The people are always really friendly and the service has always been great. The food is fantastic, both their sushi and korean has been consistently delicious no matter what I order. The fish is always fresh and all the rolls I've ordered are always well made and are presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner (The black widow is probably my favorite). And you also get a few banchan (small side dishes) with your meal along with miso soup and tea.

Plus they have happy hour from 3-5pm

I'm a Sheldon high school mom who shops at Market of Choice just about every other day - so I find myself near Sushi Seoul quite often.

    And I love sushi.

And I love Korean food. And noodles. :)

I don't know why, but it took a little while for this place to grow on me. I think it has something to do with the decor: European (Tuscan?) columns? Southwest Tex-Mex pepper things on the wall? Japanese lanterns, wild west wooden chairs with cushions upholstered in some 70's print fabric? And those haphazardly hung xmas lights... I could go on but I'll stop!

Suffice it to say that the decor of the place is confusing, but once I had been there a few times... for me it has become like an old relatives home that you had grown to love because it was so weird and unique. If they removed those peppers from the wall now, or updated the old wooden chairs with cushions that remind me of that old show Three's Company... or took out those columns... the whole place would feel sad to me now.

ANYWAY - enough about all that. The food here is great! I've loved everything I've tried thus far. My favorite time to come here lately has been breakfast. They do really good breakfasts here that are comforting and satisfying without being either too healthy or overly greasy or heavy - they are just right.

And the Korean lady (owner perhaps? I've never inquired, but always assumed so...) is so super nice. I love her. She will stop and talk with you and is just so sweet.

I really hope more people discover this place and start to come here more regularly. I will be so sad if it ever closes. It's gone from this funky place I was skeptical of at first (mainly due to the decor), to being among probably my top five favorite casual places to eat out at in Eugene.

I went here a couple of days ago for lunch, I really like this place. They have fresh quality sushi/sashimi and the prices are great. They are super friendly and give you a couple extra sides for free. I had a couple of nigiri and a couple of rolls and they were all delicious. They get my stamp of approval and I will for sure be going back again soon!!!

Sushi Seoul is our (relatively new) favorite place to go for sushi+korean in town. Perhaps I have a different favorite sushi restaurant in town, and my husband a favorite korean place, but none of them satisfies our combined needs the way Cafe Seoul does. They have sandwiches as well, in case you're looking for something more familiar for lunch, or have someone with you who doesn't like "weird things".

Let me start by emphasizing how incredibly nice the owners are. We've talked to the lady who runs the place every time we've come in, and she has to be friendliest restaurant proprietor in town. She's recognized us from the second time we came in, always comes over to chat and to hear (and actually listen!) how we're doing, and how we felt about the food, etc.

I tend to go for the Japanese side of the menu, especially the (I know, sin of all sushi) deep fried rolls. My recommendation is the Red Moon, which offers a lovely combination of spiciness and creaminess. The creamy reddish sauce on top is quite spicy at Cafe Seoul too, more so than at most sushi places.

My husband loves the kimchi at Sushi Seoul, which is housemade, not from a can. He loves the other sides, as do I, especially the little pancakes with sauce. Mmmm. The Chap Chae he often orders is delicious and I usually end up eating a good amount of his dish. It's not spicy, but I just love the thick glass noodles.

My husband does want me to add that he wishes their food was spicier, and that they had a larger Korean menu, but that the incredible niceness of the owners makes up for that.

For me, the place is fantastic though. Again, it's not necessarily the individual sushi rolls or dishes so much (though I find them very good) as the overall experience, the wide range of food, and the great service that make this place a 5 star. The versatility makes it so easy to please any member of your party, and I feel good about supporting the family that owns this place.

We came here using a groupon and will definitely go back. The service was great, and our food was all very satisfying (edamame, potstickers, 4 sushi rolls, bibimbap, plus the free extras they gave us).  The waitress was very accommodating and was willing to adjust the rolls without a problem (add cucumber, remove tempura).

Service was quick. All the staff was very friendly, it was a pleasurable dining experience.  The food was very tasty and they are open late at night even on Sundays. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Overall decent sushi.  The service was good, albeit very slow.  But the establishment made this up by give my party tons of extras like appetizers, soups, desserts in between the wait for our sushi orders.  I really appreciated that gesture.  I wished more businesses did stuff like this.

If you are looking for good sushi then look elsewhere.  Some of their Korean food is actually pretty good but I could not get over the lack luster quality of their fish.

I came with here with my family the other night for dinner. We ordered bi bim bop (rice bowl with veggies, beef and a cracked egg on top with a spicy sauce...my go to order at Korean restaurants), and my mom had an udon soup.
All of the food was great!  My bi bim bop was sizzling and had a nice variety of vegetables.  It was a lot of food and reasonably priced.  The others liked the bi bim bop as well.  My mom's Udon was huge with generous portions of tempura shrimp and delicious thick noodles.

The food came with a complimentary Korean pancake.  I had never had one before and it was really good, especially dipped in the citrus sauce it came in.

Service was excellent, this is a family run place and everyone there was very nice and welcoming.  They also serve sushi and in the mornings they have coffee and american breakfasts.

Highly recommend!  I look forward to returning.

New sushi on the North side of town. Sushi was okay, not Sada's or Shiki. Two companions has bento boxes and were mildly pleased. Lots of room for improvement. Service was excellent.
