Taqueria El Pueblo

Taqueria El Pueblo is a pretty outstanding hole in the wall taqueria.
The venue is very low key, wooden tables, no frills and cafe style inside. A place for great food as opposed to a romantic dinner.
The crowd on a Thursday night pretty much local and Hispanic (a good sign). Single dudes and a table or two of couples.
For the food we started off with the complimentary tortilla chips served with three dips, one of these a habanero dip that was pretty damn hot. Followed with a taco combination (3 choices) with rice and beans. The pork taco and chorizo taco were absolutely awesome, real tasty, good toppings and a generous wedge of lime. The chicken taco just OK. I am not a rice and bean guy, but these were also really good and fresh. Probably some of the best tacos I have had and for three with a plate of beans and rice for around $8 - amazing.
Service patient with us gringos and very efficient and cordial.
I would give this place 5 stars if it had BYOB or even a license - I do love me some beers with my tacos and was disappointed to miss out.

The food was fantastic. I ordered the three taco dinner, with one carne asada, one carnitas, and one pollo. Five stars for the carnitas (seriously fantastic), four stars for the asada, and three for the pollo.

This is a great little out of the way place with a variety of options and very good food. Highly recommended.

GREAT tacos!  I'm a huge fan.  There is a huge variety (steak, lengua, chicken, cochinita pibil, chorizo, etc...)  We often get tacos for take out, or chorizo and eggs for breakfast on the weekend.  The portions are huge and the staff is nice. I always phone in my order and it's ready when I walk over.
