Me and my wife had guests from another country and we decided to look online to find an exceptional steakhouse nearby. We found this Ted's Grill and going through the reviews it seemed like worth trying.

I know it's a long review but I truly hope it will help some of you avoid a big dining mistake.

First of all let me start by saying that who gives nice reviews to this place has absolutely no clue of what a nice dining experience is and a very vague idea of what good food is in general.

We entered the place and at the entrance there was a manager and a host working. They see us entering but neither acknowledged our presence. We figured they were busy and we don't like to bother so we decided to wait. After a few minutes another group enters and they pass right in front of us and go talk to the host. We figured they might have had a reservation so we wait still. After a few minutes another group comes in and they do the same thing, this time we hear that they just ask for a table and the host puts them on a list. At that point we realized that we had to go and ask to be sat down. We do that and after 20 minutes and the two groups who arrived after us, we get set.

The waitress was nice, the food was nothing but mediocre and pricey. They didn't bring us any complimentary bread although they did when we asked for some. The buffalo steak everybody mentions is nothing but a mediocre steak in any way more flavorful then a nice beef steak although they charge a lot for one. Same goes with the buffalo burger, nothing special, grilled in a mediocre way and served on a cold. not toasted bun.

For the price we paid, this place should have ZERO customers. It makes absolutely no sense to dine here. It is so blend and mediocre that you are much better off going to Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn Steakhouse. Same if not better quality, complimentary bread, much cheaper prices and much better greeting.

Went there on a Thursday night and it was very busy. We were lucky enough to get a table with a short wait. For the 1st time in my life, I tried the bison burger. It tasted slightly different than a "regular" burger, and I liked it. You have to try it once. Service was above average. The only downside was as we were leaving, we saw a crowd of people waiting.

Ted's is consistent, tasty and the restaurant itself just has a good "feel" to it. The food is nothing extra special but it's solid - reliable, not too overpriced and something on the menu for everyone. The service is impeccable. And the layout of the restaurant feels very private even though it's quite small.

We went here while on vacation & I had one of the best Bison burgers, let alone hamburgers, I've ever had! Definitely give this place a try!

First, one of my favorite jokes:

What did the mother buffalo say to her child as he left for school?
...
BISON!
....

Perfect for Ted's Montana, right?!?!

Ok. For realz now. Here's my review: 2.5

Came in to grab a small bite with my friend K.O. I don't remember why but we just decided to dine at the bar. We were greeted by the barkeep and got some menus. We needed a couple minutes to review them so we did just that... but then for an additional 15 minutes! Why? Because there was no waiter or bartender in sight! I was like whaaaa??? It was like 3:30PM on a Thursday and it barely any patrons. Come on! Anyway, we eventually got our order in.

Sooo, once we got our food, we couldn't help notice that the kitchen and wait staff were just standing around the the border the kitchen and bar. Some were even eating right there, clearly visible, which I don't think you're suppose to do. Oh, there were also a lot of people, who assumed were management walking in and out of the back room near the by the bar. Just kinda distracting and kinda odd....

Anyway, we both got appetizers; the bison sliders and the bison nachos. The bison sliders with the corn biscuit were pretty great but the nachos were so-so.

Food was aiight and the service was kinda eh. Maybe they were having an off day, who knows. I won't them write them off just yet but my first impression... not so good.

Well, this blindsided me. I expected an overpriced, under tasty, and badly served meal. I was wrong and I might as well spit that out. I am easily prepared to dislike, complain about and argue against most things in Naperville & Ted's surprised me. Granted, I prefer the city but when in the burbs, this place will do!

A couple of friends and I stopped in on an early Saturday evening. We waited around 30 minutes and were seated at booth. Not too shabby with no reservations. Our server was friendly, quick, and helpful. When it came time to order-one of us had the short ribs, two of us had burgers of the bison variety. The sweet potato fries were A-ok and the burgers were right on. The short ribs looked pretty awesome but I did not partake. For dessert two split the cookies. Reports were pretty outstanding. The bill was reasonable.

All around, little pretension (unheard of in these quarters), reasonable service and decent food. I would happily return.

Eaten there twice and I'm not gonna go back. The food quality is severely lacking, especially at the prices they charge. Last night was the $16 bison bacon blue burger. They set the thing down in front of me and the first thing I said was "where's the beef?" Very small patty. The condiments on the burger are the usual lousy and pathetic tomato, lettuce, pickle that looked like it was from a cheap roadside diner. The fries were average. And the buffalo meat was too salty. The best thing about the burger was either the bacon, or the bun. The appetizer was the nachos. All chips, few toppings. Very little meat. Overall, a very sad meal. I expected more from the burger, especially at $16 which is one of the more expensive burgers I've ever had. The service was slow as well. I can't remember what I had the first time I went, but it was not very good either as I recall telling myself that I would not go back, but last night I was duped.

This has to be one of the best restaurants to eat at in Downtown Naperville.

I was surprised to find that I really liked the Bison burger! All of the food I have tried here has been pretty good. I have found the service to be good too. What's not to like about Ted's Montana Grill? Maybe the straws that feel weird when you sip, but at least they are environmentally responsible!

Good food. It seems that seating for bigger groups, even for 5 people is an issue. Make a reservation.

Love this place. Always quality, in food as well as service.

TIP: if it's busy and your party is small enough, look for bar seating. We've had pretty good luck the last few times in avoiding waiting during peak rush hour!

This was my first time to Ted's Montana Grill and I was amazed at the customer service. Additionally, I would highly recommend the bison to anyone. If you can afford to do it, splurge for the Bison filet. It is the greatest steak you will ever have outside of a steakhouse. Perfectly seasoned, cooked to order, the bison burgers elevate burgers to a whole new level.

This Ted's is my favorite place to eat, ever. I work in the city and go to trendy restaurants quite often, but Ted's is still my favorite. They make everything from scratch and it shows. The salmon is the best I have ever had. My husband and I go there often and the service in Naperville is terrific. I have not had as good of service in Bolingbrook and it's just not as good of an experience.

Went there this evening (a Wednesday) and didn't have a wait at all. Tried a drink at the bar and looked over the menu. The bartender was more than helpful in talking through his preferences and the strengths (bison) on the restaurant.

The wait staff was awesome -- attentive, explaining and super quick. The complementary half-pickled pickles as a warm-up were fantastic and unexpected. Today's soup -- a gumbo -- was beyond awesome, the best we've ever had. We had the meat loaf and pot roast -- both bison -- and they were awesome.

We're definitely coming back and trying the bison filet. It's tops on our list for new restaurants.

Very enjoyable meal!

"Save a horse, Ride a Cowboy" is a good theory to live by I think, and at Ted's you can save a cow, eat a bison..I tried the bison meatloaf with homemade mash and Aunt Frannie's Squash casserole. The food was yummilicious, and the service was fan freakin' tastic! You must have a fresh squeezed cherry lemonade....best I've ever had and I must say I'm a gourmet lemonade kinda girl, so I've tried my fair share. The atmosphere makes me wanna throw on my favorite jeans and hang out for a while...it's got a downhome, settle in feel to it for sure. I love downtown Naperville, and Ted's is a great spot to eat with the fam or for a date night. Hey, and to top it off, Ted's is a "green" and sustainable restaurant...Yeah for Mother Earth and Great Food!

This is my 2nd favorite restaurant. The service is always great, it's very comfortable, and the Bison, my god the Bison. If you can afford to do it, splurge for the Bison filet. It is the greatest steak you will ever have outside of a $$$$ steakhouse. If you don't have that kind of money then get a bison burger. Perfectly seasoned, cooked to order, the bison burgers elevate burgers to a whole new level. If you've only ever had a beef burger you need to get to Ted's ASAP and have your life changed.

As far as sides go, I highly recommend trying the onion rings. They are absolutely enormous. actually taste good, and dont come sliding out of their crust. Also, make sure to ask what they have on tap, because I made the mistake of not doing that the first half dozen or so times I went and found out they have some great beers on tap.

I am heartbroken to give Ted's two stars. My hubby and I LOVED the Ted's in Schaumburg and were super stoked to come to this location with another couple after paddle boating! Im not a big meat eater and the Schaumburg locaiton used to have the Beef, Bison and Chiken option for the burgers...not anymore apparently! :(

I had two options for my chicken sandwhich...not very pleased about that! The service was HORRIBLE!!! Our waitress took almost 15 minutes to first come to our table, then took forever to get our drinks and didn't even bring out our food! Another waiter (who we were jealous of his tables because he was a rockstar!) brought out our food! Really? Another waiter with tables as well can bring out our food but our waitress cant?

My husbands meal was incorrect, my chicken was kind of gross, which is SO disappointing because we would go to the Schaumburg location on a regular basis and loved it!

I do love the eco-friendliness of Ted's! That is probably my favorite aspect of the restaurant!

We will not be coming back to this location unfortienetly...

I always have high ambitions towards straying off the reservation of just ordering a bison burger every time I come here, but it doesn't help that Ted's is one of the only places I've been to in town that'll actually serve a burger rare when you order it that way. Typically it seems in suburban restaurants "rare" is "medium," "medium" is "well," and "well" is... Well, I don't even know how you classify a burger that burnt. You people who like their meat cooked how they order it know what I'm talking about!

I'm sort of confused by the reviews here that mention small portions, as a trip to Ted's almost always induces the food sweats for me. A couple tips- Don't skimp on the salad. The wedge with blue cheese (and crumbles) is heavenly. Also, swap out your fries for garlic mashed potatoes, you'll thank me later. ...Not that the fries are bad, but, man, those mashed potatoes. If I could fit it in the trunk of my car, I'd just bring a 55 gallon drum for them to fill up.

Docked a star because it seems like there's almost always a considerable wait whenever we come here. I guess it's good that a restaurant is that busy, but, the typical (at least in my experience) 20ish minute wait isn't that fun. If they did reservations via OpenTable or a similar online system, I'd be all over that.

Good bison burger and HUGE portions. I really like how you can choose any side item in place of the standard fries with the sandwiches & burgers. I also like how you can have any "burger" made with bison, beef, chicken or veggie patty. They have SO MANY types of toppings, some interesting combinations - all sounding delicious it was hard to choose.

Our server, Kelsey, was fantastic! As it was our first time she explained the menu and just had such a nice, pleasant attitude.

Love Ted's. I can never decide between a bison burger or a grilled chicken salad (sort of the equivalent of a Cobb). Bison burger is wonderful with hand-cut fries. But I absolutely adore their homemade honey mustard salad dressing and fresh salads. It's a debate every time.

Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. It's not cheap but it's quite good.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff, and good food. My only issue is that I felt the entree portions are a bit small. My date ordered the Bison Pot Roast and it looked to be only about a 3/4th of a measuring cup's worth of meat. The sides are definitely generous though and so you will probably still feel full in the end. I had the Bison Meatloaf, which was pretty good. It tasted like how meatloaf would typically taste - nothing really spectacular. The bison has a sweet and kind of smooth aftertaste.

With drinks, our dinner for two was about $45.

Well, I always thought it was cool how Ted Turner had a gigantic, 1,000+ sq. mi. ranch... even though in practice I don't see ho one could enjoy all that land. I mean, it's cool to have, but can you actually use it all. You'd have to ride on horse back for months at a time. There must be entire sections of his ranch he never sees.

Enter Ted's Montana Grill. I figure most of that land has to house all the bison they serve up at Ted's. And thank goodness for that! Delicious burgers, chilli, nachos. You like bison? You want bison? Ted's is your place.

They also made a mean, handmade Arnold Palmer (no, they don't put alcohol in it to make it good... plus that would make it a John Daly). The lemonade is made fresh and tastes awesome.

The one thing that would make this place better would be if they sold sarsaparilla. I mean, they have the whole theme going, so you might as well go all in.

I like this place. I'll probably be back soon.

I wont be back. I wanted to like it and I just didn't. I Blame my taste buds! Many other places in downtown Naperville I'd rather eat at.

I thought everything was so salty! Seriously that is the only thing that comes to mind when I think of this place.

The Service is great, and the wait wasn't long. The decor is right up my alley - I just couldn't love this place. I found on http://restaurants.com a coupon and we were able to use it no hassle.

I'd still suggest it to friends I just didn't care for it.

A friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter. I ordered a bowl of the Bison chili and a side Caesar salad. Although they provide pickle chips at the table, we wanted something a little more substantial; we did the unthinkable and asked if they had any bread. They did! Yay! The waiter brought out a delicious plate of biscuit-like bread. It was really good, flakey yet thick.

My chili had the perfect amount of heat to it. There was a generous amount of meat and the flavors of the sauces, peppers, beans, and cheeses really mixed well together. The Caesar salad was nothing really special; in fact, a few pieces of the Romaine were a little wilted. I just picked around it and enjoyed the ones that were crispy (it was only a side salad).

I enjoyed my night here with the beau. If we go back, I think we will order a couple appetizers and share them. The O-rings were awesome! Huge, hot and served with an amazing horseradish-ranch dip. Ranch is the way to this girl's heart!

I ended up getting the Bison Chili for my entree, and it didn't disappoint. I love Chili though, and unless you totally f*ck it up, I'll devour it. The bison tasted great and very lean in the chili. My boyfriend got the Bison Burger and really liked it too. However, he's German and doesn't really know/can't savor the difference between a bison burger and a regular burger. Burgers=Burgers to him.

The one thing I was disappointed in was the drinks. We both got mixed drinks with their juices; they claim to make all their juice in house. I was enticed by this and decided to get a Margo (going against my better instincts which told me to avoid it--this is no mexican joint) and my boyfriend got some other mixed drink. Both were seriously lacking booze, so we basically spent $20 to drink High-C and margarita mix. Disappointment, for sure.

Awesome, though, is that this place is green! They have recyclable straws, table cloths, etc. which I can really appreciate. Kudos to Ted's for setting a socially responsible standard for dining establishments!

Appetizers= delicious
Entrees= good
Drinks= crap

Over the last few years I've managed to eat at about 98% of the restaurants in downtown Naperville, but somehow Ted's Montana Grill fell through the cracks. Now that we've been, it should become a mainstay.

A dinner with my lovely parents meant eating out at around 5 pm, so it was still quiet on a Saturday evening. If you come through the door on the parking lot side (vs. the Jefferson ve. side), you'll make the looong trek past all the tables to the hostess...only to be most likely led back to one of the booths you've just passed (if you're lucky!)

The setup of the restaurant surely lends itself to the "quiet" feel even when it's busy, as most of the tables are secluded in cozy booths, their high walls blotting out surrounding noise. (Seriously, why don't other restaurants pick up on this idea, instead of thinking that "loud = we're having fun!!") While Ted's is casual, it also manages to give off an intimate vibe if you get one of these tables.

The food was really enjoyable. My filet, topped with lemon butter, was the perfect means of getting some iron into my diet...and was delicious besides. The price was also reasonable (for what steaks generally cost in this city). On the whole we expected this restaurant to be a lot more expensive.

I was the only one who went for meat (beef, not the bison); my dad got crab cakes, and my mom ordered the cranberry-glazed chicken (which she said reminded her of Thanksgiving), and everyone was happy. The one dish I could have lived without was "Aunt Fannie's squash casserole" -- made with yellow squash, it was weird, squishy and salty.
I did enjoy the cherry lemonade, like a grown-up version of the drinks from Sonic Drive-In, something special if you're not partaking in a cocktail.

Our waiter did the disappearing act after initial attention, and since this was a place where someone else brings your dishes to the table, service can break down. We asked the girl who brought the meal for butter, but it never arrived. Finally halfway through the meal (the butter having never arrived) our actual waiter returned, so we asked him for butter again. At last we got some...during the last third of the meal. You know the drill.

Overall though, between the location, the atmosphere and the menu, I hope to make another trip to Montana very soon!

Ted's isn't always a place I think of when deciding where to go to eat, but I always seem to enjoy it.

Went on a Friday a little after 6 p.m. and while it was 80%+ full, the service was fast and attentive. Pros include the wedge salad-freshly cooked and crumbled bacon is always good! The meatloaf sandwich was decent, but the green beans (perfect amount of seasoning and well-cooked) were a highlight.

My son ordered the kids steak and it was undercooked quite a bit. We had cut it into pieces and they took it back and came out with a new steak, which was cooked perfectly as ordered and the manager took it off the bill. An unexpected positive-wasn't that big of a deal, but it was the sort of attention and gesture that won't soon be forgotten.

The service and speed was the factor that brought it up to 4 stars-a good place to eat and a good variety on the menu beyond beef or bison. Their lemonade is a must order-fresh and over crushed ice.

The main hallway has tables on one side, booths on the other and the middle is a little narrow-part of being in an old town building setting, so if you can it in the very front or bar area, I'd recommend that.

I like this place, the creeky old wood floors, the pressed tin ceiling, the private wood booths. I don't much care for the uncomfortable chairs when sitting at a stand alone table but the food is worth it.

I've had the bacon/bbq bison burger and it was great.
Had the meatloaf w/ mashed potatoes and it was great.
I've also had the beer can chicken and it was great.

This seems like a good place for sunday dinner, they have specials on sat/sun and the service is always great.

I dont' like pickles but they give you a little dish of fresh pickles to eat while waiting for your food. I also like their recycling vibe, special low water toilets, recycled paper table toppers etc.

Sleek. Classy. Bison.

How about that for word association?

I liked the feel of the place. The majority of their dining area is essentially a long hallway lined with sleek but comfortable, leather booths on one side. You get the feeling of privacy but it doesn't feel claustrophobic because the other wall is a window that peeks into their bar area.

I ordered a Spikebox Bison Burger, which is Monterey Jack, bacon and jalapenos. This is the first time that I've eaten bison: I found it to be a very lean meat that doesn't leave you feeling bloated.

Note that the service here is quite good. I can see how customers can feel neglected along a row of booths but their staff is very attentive.

Overall, Ted's is a physically-nice place for a burger. However, I don't feel that the higher prices (a regular beef burger with no toppings is $9) are warranted because it doesn't bring anything special to the table.

I checked it out last night while shopping in downtown Naperville with this gal who originally wanted seafood. She said she wanted to give it a try so we did. The wait time wasn't bad (I refuse to wait anywhere for a table) only like 5 minutes or so and the waiters and staff were unbelievably friendly! Not the annoying constantly bothering you kind either. Long story short, she had the prime fillet and I the ribs.
Both entrees came with many choices of sides, but we both had the garlic mashed potatoes, green beans in garlic and a roll. I didn't have a single complaint about the staff, the food, the dessert was fantastic! Nothing special really, just a homemade brownie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top, still it was wonderful!.. The bill was only 65 bucks, but because of the amazing staff..it came out to be 85 total... I'd go back and try a couple new things for sure.

Rocky Mountain High, where are you?

Steakhouses, I tend to avoid like the plague, mainly because they scream wallet unfriendly and lots of clogged artery induced trauma. Not so the case in Ted's, well at least for this trip around the go go.

Spending the day walking through each and every shop, darting away from the cold which has you burning more calories than your grumbling stomach at a certain point, my eating partner and I decided to take up shop at the first place we passed. Enter Ted's.

Aspen Ski Lodge, maybe not but it makes for a good log cabin-esque cozy shack in comfortability. The hostess promptly sat us in one of the many booths and we scoured through the menu. Lots to choose from so if you are a picky steakhouse eater, you've got options so don't stress.

My lunch cohort ordered the meatloaf sandwich with a side of fries. I went with the fish sandwich and cole slaw, both with glasses of wine. The service was on the money, our server was fun and dropped by the booth quite often and was having convos with other dining patrons.

For the food, the meatloaf was up to par and served on a warmed ciabatta loaf. The fish sandwich was mess-ay but still good none the less. The coleslaw was the real winner in my books, light and not overly sweet. There was no rush in getting the bill paid out and we were even approached by the Manager on staff, nice little treats for a smooth dining experience. Good enough for a full 4 starros, I would say no but for dining a la Naperville, we're leaning towards yes.

Affordable dining with that hungry man feel to it. Ted's is a happening place for a real country comfort food fix.

I was reluctant to try this place at first because of a semi-rational hatred of Jane Fonda, and a fear of giving Ted Turner more money while he sits in his secret lair and laughs at me.

Thankfully one night in a moment of crisis, I walked through the front door and asked for a patio table for 1.

I am very glad I did. Both my wife and I have come to enjoy this place as one of our staples for dining out. Our food is always consistently good, and plentiful. The staff is always attentive.

Some of my favorites are the wedge salad, onion rings, and the bleu cheese, bacon burger. On Sunday they have a roast turkey dinner that is pretty darn tasty as well.

Even if you are reluctant, give it a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

To set the scene:

My wedding is just under 3 months away. I have a wedding dress from the wedding that never happened, but I've gained some weight, it won't fit.

I get my lapband filled back up, because darn it, I'm going to wear that dress.

For three days, I eat perfectly. But I'm hungry (and don't want to go back to the mean lap-band people who are all like "Oh, so you gained 50 pounds back? After we took the fluid out? LOSER!"). By the end of day four, I was so hungry and cranky I was going to cry.

My fiance, who loves me and could care less about what size I am, takes one look at me, and drives me to Ted' Montana Grill. And I order a buffalo burger, no bun. With guacamole and jalapenos and all sorts of goodness. And onion rings instead of fries.

I eat it, and I feel good. All is right in the world. The atmosphere is soothing, my fiance loves me, and my stomach is comfortably full.

Two weeks later, I say screw it, and order a lovely dress off eBay from China. It fits, I get married, and live happily ever after.

Next time you are near the Naperville riverwalk check this place out. Thank goodness for the parking lot in rear or else I would have gone elsewhere. I was dining in with a party of (2) however their was no host at 12:30 in the afternoon. It was rather odd to be standing around for 5 minutes with empty booths.

We had a friendly waiter (Bruce) funny guy too! Kind of like a neighbor that always lends a helping hand. Anyways we started off with a delicious chicken tortilla soup that is only available on Thursdays. Washed it down with freshly squeezed lemonade, you only get 1 refill.

I selected the George's Cadillac Bison burger with bbq sauce, cheddar cheese and bacon. Now, I am well done meat kind of guy. I ordered it medium well. It was a tad bit dry, should have gone just medium to ensure the savory flavors would still be house in the burger. Just an FYI people.

I do like the fact this establishment is eco-friendly and they do their part in contributing to a better earth. Hats off to the water-free uniral supply systems in the restroom. No flush! No touch! Saves money and water!....LOL!

I've now eaten at Teds on at least five occasions all with my 18 month old daughter. I've never had a bad experience, the staff are well trained, good with kids, polite, and fast. The food is top notch and has become my favorite burger, homemade or restaurant.

Not going to write a long dissertation, I would highly recommend this place to anyone and have.

Enjoy the bison, its delicious.

This is a three-star place.

Pause.

"Well, then what's with the 4 stars, huckleberry?"

Well, I'll tell you.

Hit Ted's on a Sunday night, as Kim39, Jackie O and I did, and have their turkey dinner special. That's right... put your salivary glands on notice and have Thanksgiving in February (or whatever). They pile tons of real turkey on top of real stuffing. Oh, and bless them little Ted-critters, they do NOT smother the whole thing in gravy! Gravy is off to the side in a mini mashed potato volcano. Add some cranberry and a fresh-made roll and they'll be rolling (ugh) you out of there a happy camper.

Now, it didn't hurt that the big, traditional meal was girding us for the f'ing pluto-like temperature and wind conditions outside that night, but it was a great meal that was special and tough to find.

Jackie O had the chicken Caesar salad, which was OK. Kim39 and I mocked the poor girl for her poor judgment as we snarfed our faux Thanksgiving feast. On another occasion, I have had the bison pot roast. It was fine, 3 stars.

But, especially while the weather blows, get a warm-up on turkey Sundays at Ted's.
gobble... yow, bill

PS - They have Stella on tap.... maybe 3 1/2 stars. He he.

Not a good place to eat if there are more than 4 people in your party. We had 7 and had made a reservation. First they tried to cram us at a table for 4 since we had kids with us. Hello! Some of my kids are BIG like soon I will have to look up at them to yell at them. The table they tried to give us was next to a part of 6 crammed into a table for 4 and they had 3 adults and 3 toddlers.

So then they gave us a table for 6, 3 chairs and the back seat of a booth, thinking that the 4 boys could all sit next to each other. Not good. I got a chair and put it at the end of the table.

This restaurant is long and narrow and mostly booths. So if you have a party of 4 or less, they put you in a booth. More people than that and you are doomed to one of the tables in the back.

Then we ordered and waited....The service was really slow and it was early in the evening. We had to wave our server over for the drink refills, unless they were alcoholic drinks and she was right there for those.

The food was ok. 2 of my kids had burgers from the adult menus and they were an ok size, but REALLY messy. You know how they give them to you in paper at Red Robin? Well, not here, I had the beer can chicken which was good and hubby had the special for the night - bison short ribs. That was kind of a skimpy order.

The desserts were VERY good (gives them an extra star). But even the yummy taste of those couldn't get rid of the bad taste from the rest of the evening!

I went here one night with a girlfriend for dinner. The food was pretty good - but I think many people have used the Miller High Life commercial to express when prices for hamburgers are a little high. I think the Miller High Life guy would pull Ted's license on selling his beer.

I don't eat a whole lot of meat, but I wanted to try the buffalo burger. It was good, but $13.50 good? I'm not so sure.

As a girl who grew up in Naperville, I miss Oswalds and was sad to see a chain take it's place. I mean, where do the kids who grow up in Naperville hang out these days? We used to hang out in Oswalds, perusing the candy selection. Somehow I don't think Ted's will let today's Naperville youth do the same.

We went here for father's day lunch and I had expectations that clearly were not met. I feel bad giving three stars, but from what I could tell looking at my family's meals it couldn't go much farther. I actually enjoyed my "Big Sky" Cobb salad with grilled shrimp and the Buffalo Margarita made with gin (quite awesome actually), but everything else looked sub par at best.
I noticed they have an extensive burger list and perhaps if I go again (under enducement), I will get the salad and margarita and have a bite of some kind of burger.
Also, we had the strawberry shortcake which was really awesome and the drop biscuit was amazing.

The kids and I ducked in here today after a little shopping and had a wonderful experience. It's a chain, owned by Ted Turner, and when you arrive you can feel the chainishness, but it's a place with restaurant values I can totally get behind. Restaurant values...what are those? Well, let's start with ZERO PLASTIC. The place is entirely non-smoking, they use recyclable products whenever possible - even the straws are cardboard - and the food is fresh. They boast the place contains no microwave ovens or freezers.

The best part of the experience was the food and a nice, young guy named Kyle who I hope to have as a server again, because he really cared for us. Nothing like being an outnumbered parent at a restaurant - the 2:1 kid to parent ratio is definitely not recommended - but Kyle thought of everything. Instead of crayons, they hand out wikki sticks - genius, I say. Bendable wax sticks the kids can manipulate to their heart's content.

The kids had the standard burgers and chicken with fries, I had a chicken sandwich with avacado. Everything was perfect. The son's burger was amazing, actually. All meals start with their cucumbers that have gone through half the pickling process - addictive. Being nosy, I asked the people at the table next to me how their bison was - thumbs up all around. I look forward to trying it soon.

Kyle, you get five stars! Four stars overall only because the atmosphere isn't much. But recommended.
