On my second trip to this place, the owner recommended the Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli.  Now she's trying to convince me to try something new, but it's too good (4 out of 5 times - sometimes the pork is a little overcooked).

Also good are the Nam Tok Beef (ask for it medium rare) and the crispy flounder (ask for sauce on the side (keeps it from getting soggy).

The Drunken noodles are above average, but not the best I've had.

The Nam Khao is ok (a bit on the sweet sweet side for some reason - I like it better the Lao way).

I think I would have liked the duck rolls better without that super sweet hoisin sauce that they top it off with - next time.

Service is always good and prices are fair (not dirt cheap, but fair).

This is one of the best Thai places to eat in the Springfield area. Food and service are always great along with reasonable prices.  The restaurant itself is not that big and has about ~12 tables inside.

This is the first Thai restaurant in NoVa that I am looking forward to going back to. Thanks to other Yelp reviewers..we found this gem in a little strip mall. We had the crispy rice sald, Chicken (minced Thai style) ka prow and red curry with chicken. I am already planning my next meal there!

Tiny little gem of a restaurant - hidden away in Brookfield Plaza! My friend found this place - she said the crispy rice salad was as good as Bangkok Golden!  Since this was in our back yard, we had dinner there on Saturday and yes, the food and service was phenominal!  We're definitely going back for more.

I eat at this restaurant typically once a week.  I have started ordering off the special Thai menu.  The food is excellent.  Last night was another stellar meal.  I highly recommend this restaurant.  I had the Duck Roll for the first time tonight.  Absolutely amazing!

Excellent flavors (rich and complex) on most entrees, appetizers, and even the desserts.  Some things seemed to be significantly more straightforward in their flavors and not quite as outstanding, but were still good.  It's a small place, but there're plenty of tables.  It's also warm from the friendly, welcoming staff to the soft tans on the walls and dark wood furnishings.

I have been here a couple of times now and will add this place to my list of favorite Thai restaurant in the Springfield-Lorton area.

Both time my husband and I were here, we ordered off the Thai menu so I can't comment on popular Thai dishes like Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle or Krapow.

    So far we have tried:

Sai Ouai - Spicy Northern Thai style sausage
Hoi Todd - Fried mussels with bean sprout and chili sauce
Nam Khao Todd - Spicy sour sausage and crispy rice salad with ginger and peanut
Fresh Spring Roll - Filled with bean sprout, egg, Chinese sausage, imitation crab meat and green oinion topped with tamarind sauce

The dishes were delicious and the service was great. This will be my favorite place for appetizer-type Thai food.

Just went back for the second time and have to say that I felt rather underwhelmed. Although the main dish I ordered for myself was very good (Guay Tiew Ruer - Boat Noodle) the Por Pia Sod was so-so. Hubby said his Pork Boat Noodle was good, as well the crab fried rice. The bottomline is we have a few other Thai places closer to us that is on par or better than Thai Ghang Waan. Don't think we'll bother trekking it all the way down there. If we're near by and it's meal time we might go again.

Made our 1st trip there in about 2 years and was amazed by the transformation.  Food at House of Siam was always excellent but the decor left a LOT to be desired.

We wondered if the food would be as good and IT DEFINITELY WAS AWESOME!!!  We ordered drunken noodles, pad Thai, and spring rolls and everything was incredible.

If you want to know how good this place is...it is so good I actually texted my ex, who used to eat at House of Siam with me weekly...and told him to check it out.  You might think I was setting him up...but I wasn't.  His new wife is Thai and I knew both of them would love this place!  :-)

My kids and I used to refer to House of Siam as "the dirty Thai place", to distinguish it from "the expensive Thai place" (by K-Mart), and the "blue awning Thai place" behind Springfield Mall...but now we refer to it as the "great Thai place that used to be dirty but is now really nice."

We will definitely be back again soon and plan to make this a regular haunt!

Do not miss this place.  The food is excellent. The owners are friendly and very helpful.  Wesat next to a Thai gentleman who eats there every night.  I can't give a better recommendation.

Try it and you will be glad you did.  We've been packw twice since.

First visit.  Thanks to previous Yelpers, we knew to ask about the Thai menu.  We ordered two items from the regular menu, and two items from the Thai menu.  From the regular menu, we got the duck rolls and papaya salad.  From the Thai menu, we got crispy rice salad and a beef noodle soup.  The duck rolls were a huge portion size for an appetizer, and drizzled with a very sweet sauce.  At first I thought it was too sweet, but it actually balanced the other dishes.  The papaya salad was medium spicy and as good as I've ever eaten.   The best two things that we got were the crispy rice salad and beef noodle soup.  The crispy rice salad was excellent.  It was smaller portion than Bangkok Golden, but very tasty.   The beef noodle soup was hearty and delicious.  The broth was dark and mellow.   Very nice.

The server was extremely nice and patient as we tried to order items that weren't listed on the regular menu.  I am so glad we found this place because it means I don't have to drive all the way out to Seven Corners for a fix of Crispy Rice Salad.

I've been in search high and low for authentic Thai food. I came across reviews of this place from foodies stating that its as authentic as it could get next to Bangkok Golden, so I convinced my boyfriend to take me. Since it was just the two of us, we were limited to the number of dishes we could get but we did order more than what two people could finish!

    1. Shrimp tom yum goong - a little too sour and not enough of the other flavors, imo. The portion, however, was large but the amount of broth drowned all the ingredients.

    2. Duck rolls - these were huge. I was expecting little eggroll-like-rolls but they were almost the size of a small burrito. We ordered one order which were cut into halves. This reminded me a lot of peking duck rolls except that these were crispier on the outside. The ingredients on the inside were the same with duck, green onions, and cucumbers. The sauce accompanying it was a honey-like, sweet syrup that was a little too much to handle after a few bites. It almost felt like I was eating a dessert. Overall, it was an interesting dish that I would get again as a snack and not with other dishes because we were super full after eating the soup and half of the roll.

    3. Crispy rice salad - this was my first time trying this and I've been dying to try it since all the rave about it at Bangkok Golden as well as this restaurant. I definitely like everything about it from the crispy rice, to the herbs, to the Thai salami (basically it is like Vietnamese ne^m but a little stronger in flavors). I am pretty certain that this dish gave me an upset stomach since the salami is basically raw, pickled, ground pork.

    4. Shrimp pad thai - very standard in taste and flavors. Definitely was not the best that I've had in this area.

    5. Custard with sticky rice - I was beyond full before ordering this dessert but figured that I wanted something sweet to end the night. The custard has just the right amount of sweetness and the sticky rice was perfect. We had to take the majority of it home.

We came around 8 in the evening and the little place was just beginning to fill up. By the time we were almost done with our meal, the place was entirely packed on a Friday night.

Service was terrific. We were promptly seated by an old but very sweet man who did not speak English. Our waitress was a Superwman! She was the only one serving the entire restaurant but had time to keep coming back and checking up on us. She was also very informative of each dish.

I would definitely come back again and try their other dishes but hopefully I won't get an upset stomach the next time.

The only reason I didn't give this Five Stars is I don't have a reference point for how good  Thai food can be.  With that said I loved the pork, peppers and basil dish I had here. I love spicy food but I like it when the heat builds. I don't like it when its so spicy you can eat it. The spice in this dish was a little mild but it built nicely and added to the flavor of the dish. The owner / waitress was wonderful and very helpful.

I've been meaning to give this restaurant a try with my family ever since i found it on yelp a little while ago. I must say, i am definitely not disappointed. The decor is pretty sleek and modern-ish. The waitress was very nice and friendly. She would explain what condiments went with what and checked up on us every now and then. I tried the duck rolls that everyone seems to be hyped up on, and yes they are really good! The shrimp cakes appetizer is also pretty good. My parents were overall satisfied with how their food tasted but complained about portion size and how it was sort of small. I personally was content with the portion size since i am not a big eater. My pad thai was alright but nothing really made it stand out to me from other pad thai's I've tried. In conclusion, this is a really great thai place to check out if you haven't already.

Never disappointed with the food here. Especially the Thai menu even though I have no idea what's on it. My Thai wife hooks it up though. Floating market soup is my go to dish.

crispy rice salad and floating market soup are the reasons to come here. they're both on the thai only menu. crispy rice salad is better than bangkok golden, and more on par with duangrat's market (more sour flavor, which i love) and the floating market soup is on par with po siam's country soup (very very similar). highly recommended.

You wanna know where the Thai people get their Thai food fix? This is it, friends.

This place is relatively new, it used to be called House of Siam but they sold it to the current owners who changed the name. The secret to most Thai restaurants for those looking to venture outside the traditional curry and pad thai, is the Thai menu. The items on the menu are usually things that are less popular in America and so even if they were on the English menu, it's not likely that it would be ordered. But I am telling you, bring a Thai friend, be adventurous, and order away!

    My suggestions:
    - tom yum noodle soup (the broth is to die for).
    - kuay tiew lua (floating market soup) - this is legit, tastes like Thailand [photo]
    - som tum pu dong (papaya salad with salted raw crab) - you can tell them how spicy you want it
    - thup waan (literal translation: sweet liver) - if you're a liver lover, this is for you [photo]
    - kao tod nam sot (crispy rice with pork, tastes better than my description)
    - goong krob (crispy shrimp with kale and fried green beans) [photo]
    - mussel pancake [photo]
    - lad na (thai style chow fun with gravy!)

This is where I usually go with my family if my mom doesn't feel like cooking because they have the best options of food we miss from Thailand. I decided to take a few non-Thai friends a couple weeks ago and they absolutely loved it. If you end up going without a Thai friend, ask the server for suggestions, she's also the owner and is always extremely helpful.

This is a hidden gem in an unassuming location in a strip mall.  This is my ideal Mom & Pop kind of place with a nice tables and seating, and excellent food.  The service is great!  Everything that I have eaten there is worth every penny.  Two can eat for $20.  We had two appetizers, one Thai Iced tea, one Diet Coke, two entrées - Drunken noodles, and Pad Prik Prow, all for $37.

You have to eat here at least once!

Ok, this is one of the best Thai restaurant.   The papaya salad we had was spot on, and if you are a Thai person like me, it's hard to find a real/authentic Pork noodle soup, especially the one with all the herb and ingredients (Nam Tok).   Lad Na noodle (with gravy sauce) was flawless, you don't need to put any condiments in it.  The service was excellent, the server also the owner and she pays lot of attention to her customers and her food.   I wouldn't go to any other restaurant around Springfield area,   this place is easy to find, plenty parking spaces.

This place if fantastic!  I love the attention to detail and the love that is put into the food.  Any more I don't even order, I just let the owner bring me what she likes the best.  For the less adventurous I'd suggest the pineapple fried rice or the cashew chicken, both of which are delectable.  For those with a broader palate the seafood with peppercorns is mind-blowingly flavorful. The green pepper berries in the sauce were an entirely new experience for me.

If you don't know what to order or you have special request just ask Bei and she'll take care of you.  I make special trips down from Falls Church just to eat here and it is ALWAYS worth the drive.  Very authentic food with super friendly service makes this my favorite Thai restaurant in the DMV..

I was craving Thai food and decided to try this place out cause they were placed as delivery which was not true. Still I placed my order and was told it would be ready in 15min. The food wasn't bad, their Pad See Ew could of used more chinese broccoli and the flounder fillet did not satisfy my taste for the whole flounder fish which I would've preferred. All in all, not a bad place.

Great new owners of what was previously House Of Siam
A place where other Thai restaurant owners and staff would come to eat.
Food always amazing... Apparently their success is making each dish to order including the complex sauces.
Most places I heard just make a bucket of sauce and add accordingly
Don't let this place fool you it's hidden in a dated strip mall but the inside is redone nicely and the food will not disappoint.

    Service 5
    Cleanliness 4

Our group was very disappointed. The portion size was medium for an $8 lunch (that too in Springfield). Choice for vegetarians is limited. Even the green curry has fish sauce and our food was very very oily.

We had a reservation for 10 people and everything went really well.

The Tord Mun Pla (fish cakes) were quite delicious.  The chicken pad thai wasn't bad either.  But I'd prefer more sauce.  Those who ordered the Ped Ka Prow (Crispy Basil Duck) were happy with their dish.  The chicken Tom Yum soup wasn't the best I've ever eaten but it was OK.

Parking can be difficult on a week night.

In summary, this is a good place to have host a large group and the service is excellent!

So last night my boyfriend and I were in the area, and thought we'd grab dinner before heading home to Georgetown thinking it would be less expensive but not only was it VERY reasonable but absolutely delicious!! Honestly better than any Thai I have had in dc proper.. It rivals a place back home that even the Thais say is the best.. I cannot wait to go back for more !!

Great great place, eat lunch here almost every other day. Better than any Thai place I have tried in dc or nova, Watercress salad is so good. Soups are great. Lived in Bangkok for 2 months and this is as good as it gets. A lot less sugary than westernized Thai food.

    Great first experience!
Read all the reviews and was really looking forward to trying it out, and it did not disappoint.  It is in an older strip mall area, but the inside has been nicely updated with a more modern look.  The menu had a nice presentation and selection, and we were pretty pleased with all the dishes.

The place is pretty popular, so prepare for a bit of a wait on the food on a Friday night, but it is worth the wait.  Ordered green curry, stir fried eggplant (pad ma khur), thom khar gai soup, and the duck rolls.  The duck rolls were by far our favorite, followed by the eggplant.  The green curry was pretty typical (good, but didn't stand out).  The portions were about average, but still reasonable for the price, and the staff is super friendly.  Really looking forward to trying out new dishes on future visits.

This is a pretty good Thai place, the best I've had in the area. It has been recently renovated and has new owners and it looks and functions so much better than before. It looks modern, hip, and clean, and the owner is a super sweet lady who is great to chat with.

The food is always fresh and delicious, with plenty of options from basic pad Thai to more exotic fare.

My partner loves the duck rolls, he raves about them. I love the fried tofu appetizer.

Overall this is a place worth checking out when you're in the area.

One day my thai friend told me about this place so i went to check it out with him. I usually eat at Vannipa, a thai restaurant near my house in Falls Church which offers authentic thai entrees. Thai Ghang offers the same level of authenticity and more with their thai delicacies. At Vannipa, I usually order "Gouy Teaw Lua" which is a bowl of noodles in beef broth very similiar to the vietnamese pho but with a twist to it. So i decided to order it here to see how it is (Note, it is not on the menu so you must ask for it). I was not disappointed. The soup was delicious, the meat seem marinated and tasted wonderful! I recommend it to all of you thai food connoisseurs.

There are only 4-5 Thai food restaurants in the DC Metro Area worth going to and this one has a totally different spin on menu and taste than the others. It is traditional Thai food but not your usual stateside fare. The owner, wait staff, facility, and cleanliness are top notch. The food is excellent.

I won't go on and on about how perfectly the chef has executed Southeast Asian flavor contrasts because you just need to try it for yourself. I will also say that there can be LOTS of spice if you want it and not much at all if you don't.

Make sure you order the watercress appetizer and the ginger lemon iced tea!

We were delighted to find this neighborhood restaurant with a menu that features lots of special dishes you don't find at your average Thai restaurant.  We ordered carry out and everything we had was delicious: duck roll, watercress yum, yellow curry, and shrimp with tamarind sauce. We'll definitely be back!

I first went for dinner on a Friday...  it was SO GOOD that I returned for two consecutive days!  The food is FANTASTIC!  You will not get better Thai food in the metro area.  The owner, Bay, is AMAZING, as well as her brother who is the waiter.  Any dish you get will be FABULOUS!  Please don't go an order the usual pad thai, that's so clique.  Not that the pad thai isn't delicious, but try other Thai dishes.  Ask Bay for her recommendation.  She will not steer you wrong.  Top appetizer:  crispy watercress.  Top soup: tom yum noodles.  Top entree: ALL OF THEM!  Top dessert: coconut and sticky rice.  Best drink (non-alcoholic): Lemon Ginger Iced Tea.  Plus, all of the entrees are VERY reasonably priced.

It is a new Thai restaurant. I like Thai food a lot. I tried all most of all good review Thai restaurants in NOVA. Every time I try a new restaurant, I had Pad Thai and drunken noodle. Pad Thai I had was a little bit salty. the drunken noodle was a bit bland so I added some salty hot peppers by my self. Thai Cafe is a way better than this in this area.

Well I sure do miss the old restaraunt and the family - they were awesome.
i came in with medium expectations thinking there was no way my previous favorite could be competed with

however... i am in love with the new food!  in the last 4 weeks i have been with my wife, my parents, my wife's family, my friends, i tried carry out (lol)

i must have been in 5 or 6 times now

the panaang is amazing. the drunken noodles are wonderful.  and i absolutely love the spring rolls and coconut milk soup.

compared to the old restaraunt, the hours are better - open on mondays, and until 10pm.  they are going to do well, and they definitely have a regular customer in me.
