This is a painful review to write, especially since A-Town is in a great location, and is staffed by people that seem to be passionate about the business. That said, and in my opinion, the customers are the ones that seem to be ruining the overall experience.
A-Town offers an extensive menu, and its available late which is a positive for those that tend to keep a night schedule that is common to the area. Drinks are also reasonably priced.
My main concern is that the customers tend to treat this establishment as an animal house, which is a huge turnoff for those that like to party, but know how to control themselves... for the most part.
I am sure that I am opening myself up to criticism here, and maybe some of that is justified: in my opinion, A-town is not for anyone over age 25, and for those of us in our early to mid 30s, it's a huge turn off.
I frequently witness outdoor urination. Its difficult to move to the designated smoking area without stepping in urine, or watching an epic PDA. I also frequently witness bar patrons that are borderline violent, and certainly unaccommodating to outsiders. This, too, is unfortunate, as area hotels try to promote A-Town as a place to go for late night entertainment. I see visitors to the neighborhood experiencing A-town and leaving with a negative impression of the neighborhood.
The positives: plenty of eye candy, and lots of activity. And as I said, a staff that seems to care. The negatives: public urination, unruly customers, and is not a relaxing environment to socialize with friends and coworkers.
Alas, A-Town seems to have found its niche in the neighborhood. It will likely be very successful. And good for them. Tourists and outsiders looking for a quieter atmosphere, look elsewhere.
A-Town is the place to be...The food is great and the service is top notch. I have eaten here numerous times and every time they exceed my expectations. The Sushi and the Raw Bar are my favorites but everything I have ordered on the menu has  been delicious. I used to come here when it was Caribbean Breeze and I don't miss that place at all. A-Town is the best thing that has happened to Arlington in a long time !!
Review Source:Invited back to give it another chance by the manager, I decided bring a few friends and see. Â Overall, I didn't think my experience was bad at all the first time, just the brunch buffet itself could use a little more attention. Â My friends thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere-my word of caution before was for anyone looking for a typical quiet brunch, to not come here where the atmosphere is very hype and poppin'.
So here are my edits/updates:
Brunch buffet-I actually got to try the flatbreads, empanadas, belgian wafflesand gangnam style chicken this time (hint: chicken and waffles!) and all were very good. Â Rest of the buffet still seemed average.
Mimosa tableside service: Two girls drinking a magnum bottle of champagne = true sunday funday style (we paid for it later haha). $20 for the magnum bottle, $10 for the regular size, both are very good deals, and I think the OJ is unlimited?
Atmosphere: Around 2pm the music and volume do pick up and you start to see people dancing. No fist pumping this time (wasn't house/EDM) but still a great time, we all enjoyed the hip hop/R&B vibe. Â Although our server was a bit tied up with a larger party, it was nice that other servers dropped by asking if we needed anything and if we flagged anyone down (including our own server), everyone was more than happy to help right away. Â So the servers are def hard working here!
Recommendations: More variety/quality desserts would be much appreciated! :)
Heard there may be a new buffet lineup next month-I'll surely be back before then but will definitely update once I see the new buffet!
