Been here twice. In both visits, the food service was REALLY slow. The food is good and still came out hot, but man, was I starving. In my first visit, it was a Friday night and they were super busy with lots of large parties, but our food came out almost 2 hours later and a couple of the orders were incorrect. The manager ended up coming out and comping our entire meal due to the extended wait. Super nice guy and appreciated the comped meal for our party of 8. The second time was on a Wednesday night and not crowded at all. Only a handful of diners, so not sure what the delay on the food was. Our party of 3 waited over 30 minutes before our food came out. So not crazy long, but long enough to make you wonder if they still had to slaughter the cow in the back to make your burger. So overall, I like the food but wish they'd be faster with the food service. Also the crowd seemed much older than expected...as in my parents (50+) could have totally partied here on Friday night with their live band and love it. We made the best of it and partied down with the crowd for a bit before calling it a night. Live music is pretty sweet!
Review Source:Awesome place. Been there twice so far, can't complain. Â It is very huge and the design of it is different and interesting. Â Very inviting. Â The food was delicious of course, I wouldn't go someone a second time if it wasn't worth it. Â Must check it out.
I think they have a private room for dinner there, like a small gathering.
Was not expecting much on my first visit to Trademark. Â I was very pleasantly surprised! Â The food is great, they have a pretty good beer list, and the service has been good. Â I also like the option of tater tots on the menu!
The enchiladas were good, but very salty, almost too salty for my taste. Â The flatbreads have been great, the sushi looks good, though I haven't yet tried it, and the grilled cheese is a nice updated version. Â Be warned that the pork wings are really just ribs. Â Quite messy. Â
The "Trademark Champagne" has been fun to order. Â It's a 40 oz of Miller High Life served with mini bottles -grenades- of High Life. Â Granted, High Life is awful, but it is entertaining to order and is only $15.
I've been to Trademark about a dozen times at this point, and I'm sure I will continue to go back.
I attended Trademark's Easter brunch; they put out a great selection. Omelet station, seafood, prime rib & luscious deserts! And the price was outstanding, amazing value for the quality of food and service! Our server was very pleasant. Overall a great experience! I went back recently after work and the chef prepared the most amazing lamb burger, they also have a very complete assortment of craft beers and spirits, can't wait for Mother's Day brunch; Try it with your family & experience why I love this place!!
Review Source:Seven of us went after a day of fence construction to Trademark.
It's a great interior atmosphere - laid back but very stylish. They carried local craft beers like Two Brothers but I was sad there wasn't any Goose Island or 3 Floyds.
The burger I had was good. It wasn't the best burger I ever had but it came how I ordered - medium rare - most places tend to overlook. My side was the mac & cheese and not only was it delicious it was a very generous side portion to a burger.
Our server was great and overall a great experience. A great place to unwind, have a few to celebrate a long day's labor.
Just went to lunch here with a co-worker today. I'm having trouble comprehending why everyone keeps complaining about the service. We were greeted immediately as we entered the door. Our server was very attentive, and stopped back several times to make sure we were doing ok.
Let me start off by saying the place is gorgeous. At the center of the restaurant is a long, beautifully decorated bar. The stone-work around the restaurant is impressive. Also, there are huge windows in the front to let in some nice sunlight. I can't wait to return here in the summer when the patio is open. They also have a couple of private rooms, so looks like a nice place to have a party with a group of friends.
We requested to be seated at a booth near the back of the restaurant. Each booth was equipped with two beer taps at the table. The menu is great. Everything looked delicious, and very creative. We ordered the Sampler for 2 (cheese curds, reuben rolls, corn fritters, and fried pickles) as an appetizer and I ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich.
The food did not disappoint. Do not leave without trying the cheese curds! They were heavenly, and unlike any I've had before. The Sandwich was delicious.
Give this place a shot! I hope they stay open for a long time.
Trademark's has really good food. Well presented, large portion sizes, and best of all it tastes great! The service was really good, I went during lunch time. The prices are a bit high for lunch, they had no lunch special menu, but  I'd say it was worth the price, especially for dinner time. There are tons of TVs to watch games on and they have a really nice lounge area. Some booths have taps where you can just fill your own beer. Never been to a restaurant that offers that before. I would definitely chose Trademark's tavern again.
Review Source:This review is not for the food so keep that in mind.
We came in after work on a Friday to have a beverage before dinner. Â There weren't many people in the place and we got seated right away. Â The interior is pretty nice - rustic and lots of sun coming through the windows. Â There's a fireplace and a cozy-looking seating area. Â I liked that.
We got our orders in quickly and service was decent. Â The server seemed to be fairly knowledgeable about the beer list. Â And the list is pretty lengthy so that is a good thing. Â They have rotating daily drink specials, too.
Not sure if we will try the food but I think on a cold winter day it will be a nice place to come and have a couple of drinks after a long day at the desk.
First time in, seated promptly even though it was Saturday night. Food was very GOOD! Â Reasonably priced. A little loud, but it is a bar type atmosphere. Will definitely return. Â We ordered 2 meals. Â Lemon pepper chicken with asparagus and a turkey burger with side of sauteed spinach. Â The spinach was delicious. Â Saw the flat bread at another table, will be returning to try that. Â Tried the chocolate chip cookie cooked in the pan, unfortunately that was a little over done. Â All in all a good visit.
Review Source:They rolled out a new menu 2 days before we went on a Wednesday night, they shoulda kept rolling and so should have we, right past this place!
Let's address the menu first. What a schizoid mess.
Sushi
Burgers
Traditional entrees (lemon chicken etc.)
Flatbreads
Did I mention sushi???? What a miss cue.
It seems like they took all of the popular restaurants in the area mashed their menus together and wanted to see if it would fly. It didn't.
Oh boy, this place was an epic fail. Literally the worst meal that I have paid for in a full service restaurant in quite some time.
When we asked the waitress for advice on the menu she actually said she had no idea because it was a new menu. Okay, whatever. She did advise that the burgers were great. I never order burgers because they are 1000 calories plus the mac and cheese or french fries or whatever you eat with it.
So I ordered one, medium rare. What I received was a well done awful burger. Our server was so bad I didn't even want to send it back so I ate 1/4 and dug into the macaroni and cheese which was completely flavorless, paste like sauce, no joke.
$100 bucks plus with cocktails. Nothing we ordered seemed like we were getting any value for the price.
Why 2 stars then?
The buffalo calamari was good, kid of tangy and seemed to have some citrus nuances in the sauce. Oh yeah and the decor was nice.
Trademark is one of my favorite places to eat in the Western Suburbs! Â Probably the best thing is that this is not another bar and grill chain establishment like TGI Friday's. Â The owners, Matt and Mandy, really care about each guest and creating an amazing experience. Â I started coming during the football season to watch Bears games and I have been there over 10 times since writing the review. Â
The food is always really well done. Â I can never decide which appetizer to get; they have so many choices such as Reuben Egg Rolls or Cheese Curds that are not found on a typical menu. Â The nachos are some of the best I have had, especially with steak. Â
For entrees, the menu is a mix between traditional bar and grill type food (burgers, etc), sushi, Â and upscale (steak and fish). Â Pricing is very reasonable for the value here, no matter what you decide to order. Â They recently tripled the size of the menu so there is never a lack of options. Â I usually order a flatbread or the steak tacos. Â The Green Eggs and Ham flatbread in particular is highly recommended. It is something unique and reminds me of the comfort food I enjoyed in college. Â
Drink prices are modest, they have a great list of beers and there are several tables with a tap built in to the table. Â This makes it an excellent place to go to watch a game. Â The only weakness on the menu is that there are only 3 dessert options available, though this is not a big concern when I don't usually order dessert.
The decor is modern and comfortable. Â It feels upscale with the hightops and the beautiful bar. Â There are several side rooms for private events and meetings if you speak with Mandy. Â I booked one for both my fantasy football and baseball drafts this year and plan to continue this trend. Â They have a lounge outside complete with a firepit if anyone in the party is a smoker. Â The little details are present such as clean bathrooms and a fireplace in the main dining room. Â There are TVs just about everywhere and the noise is never too loud as it often can be at a Buffalo Wild Wings. Â The servers are all very attentive; Â I recommend Elizabeth's section as you will never worry about having your glass full. Â Another really nice feature is that Trademark is not overly crowded, though I expect it will be over time as it a relatively new spot!
Was impressed with place. We have visited on multiple occasions to their other restaurant Westwood in Schaumburg, and I would give this place a one up on Westwood. Very nice modern atmosphere, and the resturant felt very spacious. Not as many people as I would of though for a saturday dinner at 6, but that ment great service. Beer selection, one of my keys to a good experience was fullfilled. 15 plus beers on draft with most costing between 3-6 dollars. Also 3 dollar dosmestics for a saturday, I considered to be a good special. Menu was large with burgers, wraps, sushi, salads taking up most of the items. Few higher priced entrees, but did not pay much attention to them. There are a lot of choices around yorktown mall, but I think this is a great option and will be back again.
Review Source:This place was a huge disappointment. I appreciate good beers and was initially impressed by their decent (not great, but decent) selection of beers as well as their atmosphere. I really thought this could turn into a decent hangout spot. That is where the positive portion of the experience ends.
My office mates and I went here for a belated Christmas lunch and the experience was ridiculous. The hostess kept trying to force us to a table while they were slow and we were still waiting for 2 members of our party. Once seated it took 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order and another 15 for her to bring the drinks. Mind you, she had about 4 tables. 10 minutes after we got our drinks, she finally took our food order. The food not only took 40 minutes at lunchtime, during the week, in an area that is primarily all offices, but then our waitress dropped a sandwich belonging to one of my coworkers. She wiped it off and almost placed it back on the plate while we looked on in horror! She seemed to get the hint and brought a new sandwich, but that was pretty scary.
The food was so-so. The corned beef on the rueben was undercooked and leathery. The waitress never brought the glass of water I asked for 5 times either.
In short, I'm never going back. It was okay for a meal that work paid for, but I wouldn't give them a dime of my own money.
I've been here on two separate occasions, neither of which were very positive. Â The first time we came and met some friends. Â We ordered some beers from a pretty good craft beer list (a big plus in my book) and a few appetizers. Â The appetizers were good but nothing special. Â The second time I came here I only had a few beers. Â The service both times I visited was good. Â The reason I gave this place such a low rating is the "atmosphere". Â The first time we were there it was 10:30 or so on a Saturday night, the place was mostly empty but for a couple of other tables. Â They had a DJ in there blasting awful music as if we were in a nightclub. Â We asked our waitress if they could turn down the music a little and she went to ask the manager. Â Our waitress returned and said "No because they are trying to create an atmosphere". Â FOR WHO? There was nobody there and there was certainly nobody dancing to this awful crap. Â The next time I was there was for a friend's birthday. Â The music again was the problem, but for a different reason. Â This time they had a bunch of what looked like high school girls singing karaoke nonstop for the entire time I was there. Â Not only did I have to hear overplayed crap like "Moves like Jagger" and other talentless crap of the same variety, but I had to hear it sung by tone deaf 16 year old girls. Â When I go out for a drink after 10:00pm I don't expect the bar to be filled with minors singing karaoke. Â You lose Trademark.
Review Source:I liked this place so much I'm trying to plan when to return, and it better be soon!!!
I bought one of those living social groupon-type things. Â I forgot where I got it but it wasn't from either I just mentioned but the service covers the sw burbs and I paid $20 for a $40 deal and let's just say it was hard to get to $40 for two people, although we didn't order alcohol, otherwise it would have been easier.
But, for the sake of this review, let's start with the alcohol....extensive beer list and let me just say I LOVE that some of the tables there have the tap AT the table, as ours did. Â The drink menu looked divine as well....so, next time...booze for sure!!! The atmosphere here is casual, yet classy and it's bigger than it looks from outside.
For food, we ordered the fried cheese curds which weren't your culvers-type deal, they weren't the wisconsin-type either, they were lightly breaded and well, just fabulous!!! Â I forgot to mention on this particular night, the sushi chef was out so we couldn't order sushi which was fine by me because that wasn't getting ordered by us. Â Instead, my friend ordered the beet salad and I ordered the buffalo chicken flatbread. Â Both were very tasty, no complaints here. Â Since we had some extra money to spend we got dessert, and we ordered the bananas maki, as I always like to chow down on what's "different" on the menu. Â And after all that we STILL had to spend some money so my friend brought home a dessert for her daughter (the donut sticks) and I got a side of mac and cheese to eat for lunch the next day.
Great experience here, and yes...I'll be back, hopefully soon!!!!
We visited Trademark when it first opened and loved it. Family friendly upscale pub fare. Kids liked. Amazing fish tacos. Went back New Years Eve with kids, friends, and their kids. We were so disappointed to see the menu had changed. (It was not a special new years menu. Â We were there early and ate off the regular menu.) Â The upscale pub fare seems to have been scaled down to just regular pub fare. Â It seemed all the lighter menu items had been eliminated, including my tacos! Â Now just the fried and beef items remained.
I was hungry for more than a gourmet salad, so I took a risk and ordered the "green eggs and ham flatbread." Â Sounded interesting and maybe kids would like it, too. When it was set in front of me, I was sure it was a joke. Â All the adults started laughing/crying/feeling sorry for me/ instantly offering me some of their dinner. Â There was a HUGE soft-boiled egg floating in the middle of this thing! Â Others enjoyed their meals and I eventually enjoyed their meals, too. Â To the waitress' credit, she removed the flatbread from our bill.
I'm giving two stars simply because the menu was changed from something interesting with many choices to pub food I can get anywhere and everywhere. With a restaurant as beautiful as it is, the menu should reflect that.
I am sitting at trademark right now
When we entered tgere was no one at the front
We waited 10 minutes, she finally showed up and took us to our seats
We sat down, ordered drinks and saw the hostess sitting at the next booth chatting with her friends
She has been sitting there for 15 minutes so far, no sign of getting up to do her job!
Even the waitresses are giving her looks
She can not see the front of the restaurant from here
Good food but absolutely horrible hostess
Busboys and waitress are great
She went back to the front for about 3 minutes
Back again at a table in the back chatting with her friends
Despite being located on Butterfield Rd., it's actually hard to find Trademark Tavern. The red cursive logo on black doesn't draw attention to itself. But keep an eye out for this place, as it has a lot to offer. (It's just east of Chik-Fil-A.)
When my wife and I visited at noon on Saturday, at a time when the Yorktown Mall lot was packed, there was hardly anyone here. We couldn't tell if Trademark was open or not until the revolving door let us in.
You know how a current trend is for some women to spend a lot of time and make-up, in hopes of appearing "naturally beautiful"? I feel that way about Trademark's decor. From the cathedral ceiling to the dark and unpolished wood flooring to the slate rock columns, it's easy on the eyes in a rustic and natural way. It's clean and welcoming. There is ample space between tables, and several rooms for private parties accented with tasteful decor.
There are TVs, but they're placed in such a way that you can watch them if you want and ignore them if you don't. The bathrooms are bordering on elegant, if that's possible. The urinals have walls between them. Walls, guys; walls! You usually don't see that level of decency at a place that sells cans of PBR and Schlitz.
The one feature that does stand out is on the back wall, where four special booths reside. Each booth has two beer taps attached to the wall. And yes, they work. Our server Carlyn informed us that patrons get charged by the ounce while sitting at those booths. You want 17.7 ounces of beer? Have at it! Be warned, though; booths don't have the same two taps. Craft beers and cheap beers are interspersed. Along with Coors Light or Miller Lite, you'll see Two Brothers, Blue Moon, Fat Tire... and Moose Drool, which the menu says has a rating of 96. (Ninety-six points for a beer called "Moose Drool"? Insert punch line.)
Neither of us wanted an adult beverage, though we did enjoy reading the entire menu for spelling errors. It's been a while since I've seen that many misspellings and grammatical errors on a menu that wasn't from an Asian restaurant. It's a minor bit a sloppiness in Trademark's presentation.
When asked of their more popular dishes, Carlyn mentioned steak tacos, burgers, mac and cheese, nachos and flatbread pizza. We split our entrees: steak tacos with mac and cheese, and a burger with gruyere and a veggie medley.
The steak tacos were fantastic, as in "the stuff of fantasy." A joy from the first bite. The steak was tender, succulent and smokily flavorful. A generous amount of tomato, with cheese and avocado, sat perched in the perfectly-prepared tortillas. They didn't need the tomatillo sauce that came on the side. The tacos will be my go-to entree and first suggestion for anyone making their maiden voyage here. I' could go for another taco right now! However, the mac and cheese was a bit disappointing. While it was fun stretching the mildly-sharp cheese nearly two feet while grabbing a mouthful, the taste was just okay to me, making me wish I had ordered the fries instead.
The better side dish was the veggie medley. Though it didn't come with red and green peppers as promised, the sliced zucchini, squash, carrots and onion were sauteed in garlic and olive oil, and my fork kept finding its way to the plate.
Before our meal, Carlyn brought us two small cups of ketchup and one cup of mustard. We didn't get fries, so why the ketchup? Because the burger was very dry, that's why.
There are a lot of gourmet burgers out there; Trademark is near DMK, Weber Grill and Tom & Eddie's, with other fancy on-a-bun places in the general area. But this burger didn't measure up. The burger meat was more well done than we asked, on a thin patty, without much flavor. The bun was dry, bordering on stale. The lettuce, tomato and onion were somewhat sparse, and the gruyere slice was barely thicker than the dollar bill it cost. For eleven dollars (including the side dish), the burger was the low-light of the lunch. It was edible but lacking in bang for the buck.
With the offer of free wings (with beer purchase) during Bears games, twice-a-month live band karaoke, and a grilled cheese that contains tomato and pesto (yum) on the menu, I'll want to return soon. But it'll be hard to stray from the steak tacos. For a place that's easy to miss, the tacos are a can't-miss treat. Go now before everybody starts getting them, along with a few ounces of Moose Drool at your peril.
I've been to Trademark 4 times and have enjoyed it each time. The cuisine is more "foodie" than tavern, the beer selection is great and changes with the seasons, and the service has always been exceptional. If you're looking for a new pub option, I'd recommend Trademark for both dinner and drinks. Try it, you'll like it!
Review Source:We went there yesterday evening for a private party, and ended up sitting in their "Chef's Room" which, was very nice. Â It was a perfect setting for the event that we were hosting. Â Additionally, the waitress was very attentive, and the food was excellent. Â
However, there were several flaws. Â The drinks and shots were extremely over priced, they were not able to serve my friend two of the items he requested because 'they ran out,' and despite the 600.00 dollars we spent, they couldn't honor more than one coupon per table. Â What kind of customer service is that?
My recommendation? Â I would stray away from the drinks and stick to the food. Â If we were to ever go back here, it's not going to be for a very long time.
We went last Friday with a group of 10. My sister-in-law recommended it and we were not disappointed. Â Great decor, great service, good beer and wine selection. Oh, and the food was good too! Â Everything was reasonably priced. Â The place is good sized and the tables are not all crammed together so you did not feel like you were on top of other tables, which was nice. There are so many chain restaurants it is refreshing to have a (relatively) new, locally owned restaurant. We definitely will be back.
Review Source:There are many, many sports bars/upscale gastropub-type places along Butterfield and the surrounding Lombard/Oak Brook/Downers Grove area, but I think Trademark is now my favorite.
We've been back multiple times and it never fails to impress. The staff has worked out the kinks and the food is really delicious and well-done. They take familiar food and give it an unusual or interesting twist.
For instance, the aforementioned nachos are deliciously addictive, and the steak is just perfect. You can't stop eating them. Also recommended from the appetizers: the reuben rolls and the fried cheese curds.
The burgers are perfectly cooked, the fries just right, the flatbreads delicious, and so forth. I was sad to see the banh mi is no longer on the menu (bring it back for spring, guys!) but my new amazement is the steak salad, with fresh veggies, jalapeno-lime vinaigrette I wanted to drink and perfectly cooked and seasoned slices of steak.
Fantastic food, good service, nice beer selection -- we need to keep coming back here so I can try everything on the menu.
Let's just talk about the important things in life: Â Beer and burgers.
Beer: Â Trademark has a great craft beer selection. Â They have really decent choices for bottles and have several rotating taps as well. Â I had a hard time choosing which is an impressive feat. Â
Burgers: Â I'm going to go against what I usually say and give accolades to the regular old egg bun. Â It was perfect. Â The burger was also cooked exactly how I ordered it, the cheeses were amazing and melty and delicious (habenero jack and bleu cheese), and the fried egg wasn't too drippy and messy. Â The only thing I could complain about was the bacon. Â Undercooked and thin with lots of fat. Â Blech. Â Otherwise, not a bad burger at all.
For those of you who care about service, it was okay. Â It was pretty slow in there so the sense of urgency wasn't very high. Â I was able to snag samples of the beers on tap before finalizing my decision which was a nice bonus. Â As for the ambiance, it is totally like walking in to a West Elm catalog. Â Truly. Â It's a little fancy for a 'tavern', but it still has tvs for the sports fan. Â (If you ask for them to turn off the crappy gossip news show that currently plays, that is.) Â Overall, not a bad looking or tasting joint.
Came here with a group of friends one day to celebrate a birthday and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as to how well the place was decorated. Â
Their burgers are done well with many of them having their patties stuffed with cheese and other tasty ingredients. Â If you sit at one of the special booths along the wall of the tavern, there are taps right at your table with a selection of 2 beers for you to choose from. Â They also have some pretty good drink specials as well, I would recommend the sangrias. Â
Good atmosphere with friendly service, good burgers, and a decent selection of drinks, how could you possibly go wrong?
This really is a great place. The service is fabulous and the manager they brought in from "The Arena" really gets it...she is one of the best in the business. And I have to say the tappers at the table are a wonderful idea as well as the overall aura... even the food is magnificent. But being the burger and beer guy I am, the tab is just too much after a game to justify being here on a regular basis. I would entertain a client or have a rare football Sunday for the treat of it, but I need to be able to afford the cab ride home after a few frothy ones.
Review Source:SO this place is really cool looking but it was seriously lacking!
The tapper tables are a nice touch but our tapper was all foam the whole time!
The service is great and everyone is really nice but the food was just ok at best.
The sushi was a little fishy and the green beans were just plain GROSS. Â
As far as martinis and mixed drinks...probably the WEAKEST drinks I have ever had and at $10 a pop  I will not be going back here unless of course they do a complete overhaul!
PATHETIC... that's the only word I can apply to Trademark.
I ordered the wood plank salmon special. Â Received the food, both the ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and four asparagus were cold to the touch and the salmon itself was only luke warm. Â The server took it back and had the kitchen remake the entire dish. Â Round 2 consisted of hot sides and what I thought was properly cooked salmon. Â Until I got close to the center of it. Â ICE COLD and still NOT COOKED.
Fast forward to a manager coming over and assuring me that whatever I order will be great. Â Fine, order the steak medallions cooked medium. Â Entree arrived and the first one was cooked perfectly. Â Great I thought, finally I can actually eat something. Â Manager comes by, I give thumbs up. Â All is good. Â Until I start on the second medallion. Â RARE & COLD! Â Check the final medallion, same thing... I swear it was pretty much raw.
I am surprised the inept kitchen staff hasn't been shut down by the health department by now. Â Clearly they have no idea how to cook food correctly and sending out raw & under cooked is a major concern.
For a place that I originally gave high marks to, they really hit rock bottom. Â If they keep this pace, they will most likely be shut down soon.
Don't even ask why they have a live band playing... Well, you could ask, but no one would be able to hear you. Â Acoustics are not this places strong suit.
So bottom line, avoid this place at all costs. Â It's a shame, I used to enjoy this place a lot and even had a birthday celebration here. Â But never again and will make sure to warn everyone about Trademark. Â There are way better options out there!
We visited here with friends. Great atmosphere. Loved the spacious seating area, and the outdoor patio.
We tried the Cheese Curds (as good as you get in Wisconsin), and the Spicy Hummus for an appetizer.
Entrees were the Stuffed burger (which had corned beef and gouda cheese in it) and a cheeseburge. Yummy.
We tried the desserts, donuts (which were more like Churro) and the Banana Foster. It was pretty good end to a good meal.
Nice location. Beautiful scenery! Had the Trademark burger and it was good. Wife & I shared bananas foster for dessert and in one word AWESOME!
Service was outstanding. Our bartender Anthony was very knowledgeable when it came the many drafts and craft beer they have to offer. Â He made a suggestion based upon what I told him I liked, and it was right on the money! Â
Prices were more than fair.
Going to make this a regular spot on our nights out.
Went here last night for a girls' night out. We were promptly greeted and escorted through the restaurant; it's absolutely gorgeous. The bar is well stocked and there are special booths with their own private taps.
After being seated, we were presented with an AMAZING cocktail list...I sampled the Bikinitini and the Trademark Collins, both of which were delicious. We also happened to choose a night where some young ladies were sampling Pimm's with soda and cucumber.
We ordered the cheese curds...you should too. They're so good, not heavy at all. We also ordered the lamb lollipops, which were served with some kind of sauce. I'd recommend stirring the sauce more, since it settled by the time it got to our table. Finally, we rounded out the meal with some sushi. It's good quality, but all the avocado takes away from the taste of the fish. I'd also warn you that the Trademark is delicious but super spicy, especially with the plated sauces. Finally, if you order the Mexican, make sure they put mango on EVERY roll; ours only had 3 out of 8 rolls with a good portion of the fruit.
Wait staff was courteous and prompt. In summary, I look forward to coming back here and sampling more of the food and beverages. :-)
I liked the decor & the atmosphere better than the food. Â Great job on remodel.
Which is okay, but for long term, not great for the bottom line.
Our table had the fried chicken, just fine - not outstanding, not bad.
White fish, two of us did not care for it.
Lamb (or veal - can't recall) chops - very good. Â Two at the table really liked them.
Veggie flat bread, too salty. Â Margarita flat bread, pretty darn good.
For sure would do apps & drinks with the girls. Â Would not dine again with my husband when looking for great, great food. Â But would give it another shot if I hear the food improves.
Menu doesn't flow that great, has good components but keep at it, something's missing but attainable.
Good luck.
Oh yeah, almost forgot - you need shade for the outside seating area. Â Plant some tall trees or buy a "sail" to hang. Â Great looking area but unbearable in this weather.
My lady and I came in for a quick lunch and it was okay. The food was okay, pretty good actually, but the place was empty. It's not like I need an SRO bar area, but it would've been nice to see another table it there. It's not that I dislike this place, but it seems like a last resort on date night.
Review Source:My wife and I stopped in for dinner last night. We love this place! Great decor, clever and comfortable seating with a great staff!
Food: My wife and I started out with the hummus with red pepper glaze I believe which was delicious ! My wife ordered the fish taco's - excellent by the way! And I chose the lamb chops with pearl onions and asparagus . I also had a side of mac & cheese, mmmm...all were cooked to perfection and the timing of the order to cook was spot on. Service was very friendly and attentive. Matt the manager was sure to stop by and create some laughs as well as ensure our meal was up to par. Completely enjoyed our experience here and will def be back! Thanks Trademark ! Jim.
In an area where there at tons of places... This place stands out. I've eaten dinner here and threw a party....we loved it. Beautiful place, great atmosphere, but the food and service was upscale but with a great price. . The owner Mandy made us feel so important and the Manager Kevin made sure everything was perfect and it was. I don't give many reviews but I just couldn't resist. I run a business in the area and I know when people truly care ... They do...and it shows!
Review Source:Went here for lunch today with a few friends and we'll be return customers. Â This is in the old Magnum steakhouse space and they did a nice job with the remodel; an airy space with swank looking bar and plenty of TVs for sports. Â We were very satisfied with the food and while service was friendly, they could use a little more training/attention to detail. Â We had to ask for condiments for our dishes which should be automatically brought with the meal. Â Each person in our party had to separately request drink refills three different times instead of them being offered to everyone at the table by the server. Â I'm chalking that up to inexperience and growing pains at a new place so I won't mark off for that.
As for the food, starters were Reuben Rolls, a Reuben-ized eggroll. Â The wrapper was thin and they didn't skimp on the corned beef in the roll. Â We also had the Wisconsin cheese curds which were lighter than your typical fried cheese curd and tasty. Â For mains, two of us had the Trademark burger, and the Pat LaFrieda supplied patty, a mix of ground chuck and short rib, had outstanding flavor and was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested. Â The other entree was the chicken cutlet sandwich, a lightly breaded take on chicken cordon bleu. Â The chicked breast was a filling portion and the aioli added the needed moisture to the ham and gouda on the sandwich. Â For the side dish, we had their mac and cheese; the small pasta shells were coated in a thin cheese sauce, if it were creamier it would've been much better.
We'll definitely return to check out the other menu items and this is a good addition to the area's lunch offerings.
We are always glad to try out new restaurants, especially if it is the area. Trademark just opened last week. Since they are new, we were skeptical if they were ready to provide good service along with good food.
We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of three hostesses standing at the desk. So far so good. The place is wide open and the first thing you see is the bar that runs the length of one wall. I think this is kind of odd because most places have you walking into the dining area. But it was no big deal.
We followed the hostess who did ask us what kind of seating we wanted. They have high tops in the bar, regular tables and four booths in the dining area. We chose one of the four booths. They are very large booths that could easily seat six people comfortably. We looked around at the decor and both thought it was very nice.
Our server was at our table in no time and took our drink order. Neither of us had a beer or wine so I can not comment on the selection. But the one thing that we noticed was that there was a tap in the wall at the end of the booth. It was set up to deliver Red Tire and the Trademark label beer that had a small decal identifying it as brewed by Two Brothers Brewery. Each booth had it's own beer taps each with different selections. To get the beer you want you have to reserve the corresponding booth. Thought that was kind of odd too. We had to ask our server about this because she did not offer the information.
Our server was very attentive but did not seem that enthusiastic about serving us. She spoke in a very low voice (yes we're old and can't hear like we used to and it is noisy in there due to a lot of hard surfaces and the high ceilings) and so it was hard to hear her. She performed the basics like taking our orders and stopping by to refill drinks and ask how the food was. We thought she should have been much more enthusiastic and offered more information about the place and such.
We both ordered the cheeseburger. They were cooked as ordered and tasted quite good. The burgers are made from ground chuck and short rib meat provided by Pat LaFrieda. For those not familiar with that name, LaFrieda is a meat purveyor out of NYC. Their business is featured in the Food Network show, Meat Men. The bun was equally tasty.
Dining at the Trademark Tavern was a great experience. We will definitely be back.
I'm always on the lookout for new places that combine comforting food with good beer. So on my frequent trips down Butterfield in the DG, LB, OB area, I've been enticed by the "Coming Soon" promises of one Trademark Tavern and Tap. This place must be a place for good food and good beer right? I mean it has Tavern and Tap right in the name. It would be a terrible lie (hah, I just put Nine Inch Nails in your brain now) if it didn't have those things.
Well, it has those things, and those things are very good, and since it's brand new and I've been having a very good couple of weeks, I'm giving it the full-on five.
So first off, considering my wife and I went there on its first day open to the public, the staff seemed on top of things. Now, the place was far from crowded and a few staff members were a bit idle, but our waitress especially was friendly, efficient and eager to get whatever information we needed about the brand new restaurant.
As for the food, I was very impressed. The menu is limited, but it's clear they do those few things very well and I'd take that over a huge selection with no direction and mediocre flavor. Plus everything has that air of classing up traditional bar dishes, which they actually pull off where so many others have failed. The nachos (yeah, I know, I know, whatever) were very tasty, covered in toppings, including absolutely phenomenally seasoned strips of steak that were nearly perfect. If that's what they're putting on the nachos, I can only imagine what the actual entree is like. I had a sort of chicken cordon bleu sandwich with a nicely cook breaded piece of chicken paired with ham and gouda on a delicious Italian style roll. Just awesome.
The beer list is above average, but not particularly spectacular. That said, the craft beer choices they do have are some very good ones, with a solid selection on tap and even more in the bottle. The highlight is their house weiss which is apparently brewed by none other than Warrenville's Two Brothers, so you'd be better believe it's good.
So after months of waiting for this place to open, I was prepared to be disappointed. How could the actual place live up to my expectations. Well, they lived up to those expectations and then some. Give it a shot, and let's give this place the business it deserves.
