Best japanese restaurant in Astoria.  Amazing lunch special and great service.

Food is very fresh and the atmosphere is very nice, though it can get a little noisy when they are busy, so it can be hard to carry on a conversation.

They are quick to serve and friendly, though I didn't see one of the waiters smile the whole time I was there.

I love the little reflecting pool in the back room that has tables for two around it. It has a nice romantic atmosphere. The tables have plenty of room around them, so it isn't crowed like many New York City restaurants. The main floor is more crowded though.

The dress is casual. You don't need to get dressed up, but I wouldn't wear flip flops or shorts.

Am going to begin this update by first saying that I will always be happy to choose this place for a quick lunch or dinner. The food quality is always on point, as is the service. I've never even minded the higher pricing because the food has always been delicious.

The reason I have deducted stars is because I disagree with their recently implemented no-delivery policy. I'm a little amazed at this policy change because I spent more money ordering in than I did going there. But, whether it is a change that now goes with their seemingly clubbier atmosphere, I find it an obnoxious and rude choice to cut delivery off, as well as alienating. I find it a touch arrogant and inconsiderate of the neighborhood that made them so successful.
