I gave it 3 stars because i definitely thought it was above average bar food but it's not really a "typical" bar. It was more like a restaurant with a bar seating. I thought it was a little overpriced for what it was but again everything was above avg but the pricing only gets minus 1 star. I'd probably only go back if somebody wanted specifically to go here but I wouldn't recommend.

Flat bread was the best on the menu.

The food and service here was great. The ambiance was a bit loud to have a nice conversation with your party, but other than that, everything else with great. I had the poke tuna and calamari app (which were both superb) and the mushroom flatbread and brussel sprouts side for the main. Everything was great except for the flatbread which was a bit salty. But some like it salty, especially with the cheese on there, so it's all good. I had a fantastic time and would definitely go back.

Good: Flat Bread, Grilled Peaches and Burrata, and AMAZING Brussell Sprouts. (All big Portions too so thats a plus)

Bad: Crab Cake Salad: WAY TOO FISHY!!! ; Staff (saw server like twice in 2 and a half hours, and host put us by the kitchen/ bathroom and I asked politely if we could switch and she was rude about it)

Parking: Great, three hours free in mall

So Overall 3 Star Experience but Brussell Sprouts should have their own review and be 5++++++ stars ;)

I've come here on multiple occasions just to hang out at the bar. Excellent cocktails at the bar. "And that's all I have to say about that." -Forrest Gump

the place seems nice and trendy. the drinks were ok. i got a Kentucky sweet tea, delish but could barely taste the alcohol lol. but i didnt mind.
got a fritto miso...and i didnt love it...felt like i was mostly eating the fried batter and not so much the ingredient @@...
the waiter was super friendly and nice, loved that part.
maybe i ordered the wrong dish...judging by the other reviews for this place.
i'll prob give it another try next time i watch a movie there.

The perfect place when you are craving all-around good, hearty food. Parking is easy in the parking structure and you get the first 2 hrs free.

The calamari is always a perfect starter. Any of the flatbreads also hit the spot too. The burger is robust and flavorful, a perfect combo with their fries. The lamb sandwich french dip is SO good. They also have really great specials that change all the time, so it keeps you wanting to come back! My favorite so far was a fried chicken they had -- so moist and perfectly breaded! I hope they have it again soon!

It is hard to go wrong here.

You MUST order a flatbread. Trust me, you will not regret it. There menu changes every few months but they always have 3 different kinds of flatbreads and my god they are amazing.

Another must, which unfortunately is not part of their regular menu is the Ahi Tuna Poke. Beyond words. You get a significant size cup of Ahi Tuna mixed in a delicious sauce with a few fried wonton crackers. To die for.

Their hamburger is very good, and so are their fries. Another favorite dish they had about 6 months ago was a dish with salmon, farro, tomatoes, feta, and olives in a lemon sort of sauce. Again, since they change their menu frequently this exact dish might not be available, but if it is, order it!

I personally would prefer big chill or apple pan for dessert near by but my friends think that their sticky toffee pudding is "nuts". They also love their doughnut with dipping sauces.

The only negative thing about this place is that they don't take reservations but the wait is well worth it. Plus, they have jolly ranchers instead of mints on your way out. What's not to love about that?!

I hadn't been to Westside Tavern for a while and had heard ominous rumors of changes in the kitchen. It was a relief to find that all is well. A Thursday stop for a cocktail turned into dinner - a dozen oysters and a crab cake salad. Perfect. We lingered past our bedtime - even though the fire alarm went off and temporarily disabled the kitchen. The customers, always a lively and well dressed crowd, barely missed a beat. Likewise, the staff. Judging from a straight-up Manhattan and a crisp Martini, the bar remains one of the best in town. No room for the amazing flatbreads, but judging by the raves of our neighbors, they're as good as ever. Can't believe I stayed away so long. Can't wait to go back.

Love it. Great food quality. Great parking. Nice place for business lunch. Don't think I would enjoy dinner there though. Bad location if you don't like movie theatre patrons, and I don't.

Love this place! Great food, atmosphere, waitstaff and pretty affordable pricing... never have had a bad meal here... and I try to go here at least 2x's/month. Only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars: if you don't have a lunch reservation, get ready to wait about 15-20 minutes (at least). If you're going at night - it's always packed... but you can catch a movie afterward... it's steps away from the Landmark Theater...

Currently, this is one of my favorite restaurants. You cannot go wrong with whatever you order on the menu. The flatbreads are delicious. The sides (Mac & Cheese, Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower, and Broccoli) are all very tasty. The Salmon & Veggie Burger, and Grilled Cheese are all very flavorful. The desserts are to die for especially the Warm Sticky Toffee Cake. Also the drinks are great (Hemingway & Mai Tai)!

The cons:
- The restaurant is located in the mall therefore, you get mall traffic and people leaving the movie theater
- It gets packed after 6.

The perfect place to hit before a movie. It's a cookie cutter American eatery but more upscale than the usual mall restaurant. The food and drinks are decent and the bar staff are always friendly. I like to sit at the large roomy bar.

Ambiance: very spacious inside, trendy decorations, comfortable chairs and sofas, large collection of winery and you could see their clean kitchen as well. perfect place for big group hangout and night drink

Service: our server was very nice and friendly, though sometimes he could not take care of us fast enough, we had to wait for refilling water, changing plate, and bringing check.

Food: overall it's great
Jar of Chicken Liver Mousse - *** Green Apple Chutney | Grilled Sourdough, fresh taste
The Cheeseburger - **** Tillamook Cheddar | Caramelized Onions | Arugula | Roasted Garlic Aioli | Brioche Bun, cooked medium well, juicy and mouthful
Grilled Salmon Burger - **** Avocado | Fresh Pickles | Tomato-Caper Vin | Wheat Bun, fresh and soft
Chicken & Avocado Club - *** Bacon | Tomato | Roasted Garlic Aioli | Sourdough, crispy and oily but tasty
Mountain Meadows Lamb French Dip - *** Onion Marmalade | Horseradish Cream | Rosemary Au Jus | Soft Roll, less than expected, heavy taste
French fries - ** not very warm
Sweet corn soup - **** so fresh and light, very unique taste
Vegetable Chili - ** tasted so so
Mixed greens - *** about average taste

Price: generally okay, large portions and reasonable prices

My wife's been here several times and I finally got around to trying it. The chicken liver mousse was pretty good..very rich..but very mild taste. The lamb french dip sandwich was loaded with thinly sliced meat and the fries were nice and crisp. I didn't really like the marscapone paired with the sticky toffee cake though. It felt like i was eating globs of softened butter on top of the cake. Cake part was good, a bit too sweet for me...but i think i would have enjoyed it better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead.

Sadly have to retract my 5 star rating from a few months ago....

Service: 2 1/2 Stars
Where do I begin...well I ate there a few weeks to almost a month ago with my parents, lunch time mid week early less than half the restaurant was full, we get seated the closest to the entrance near the host station and bar. Less than a minute to being seated trying to read the menu I hear obnoxiously loud conversation...nothing to do with food or a restaurant...tried to read my menu but couldn't turn around after 15 seconds to find that we were seated directly in front of the servers computer station and it was 2 servers talking unaware of our presence. Politely asked to move tables and was graciously seated somewhere else. Wasn't given a name of our server but he was caucasian with longer brown hair...I know not that descriptive. But this gentleman wasn't really attentive to our table at all...he kind of just did the basics of a servers responsibilities....super quiet like a mouse, but maybe he's use to clientele that doesn't like to get bothered or disturbed, but I personally would like to get bothered if it's going to mean our food is correctly made.

Management: 5 Stars

NOTE: That meat temperatures at Westside Tavern are different than normal temperatures. We originally ordered our steak salad Med, it came out looking rare to my family and immediately asked for it to be cooked longer....The lady who ran the food, had a snobby demeanor and she brought over an extra plate and asked us to put the meat on the plate so she could heat it up and we could continue with the salad.

1. It's a steak salad so why would I eat the salad first and the steak later by itself?
2. I was confused if she was expecting us to use our dirty utensils to put the meat on the extra plate.
3. The presentation would be completely ruined!!!!

So sent the entire dish back....awhile later it comes back to us in my opinion Med Rare, when we ordered it we said we didn't want it red because my mom can't eat rare meat, but he might not have heard that. So we immediately wanted to send it back but our server wasn't really around. It seemed like his section was really busy and he had a lot to do....yet the restaurant itself didn't seem busy. It took way to long for him to check up on us so I just took the salad and went to the kitchen. Never done that before but we had finished the rest of our food and I had to go back to school.

Luckily one of the manager's Amy or Aimee saw my distress and took care of the issue and made me feel a lot better. But sadly the service at this restaurant isn't as professional as it use to be, and servers shouldn't have more tables than they can handle.

Food: 5 Stars

1. Flatbread of course always perfect!

2. The salad had different ingredients from the last time we ordered it so I'm not sure if we miss order the steak salad from the menu but maybe it was a special last time, because It definitely had arugula before and not the most recent time, a few other toppings were different. and before it had a type of balsamic reduction which wasn't on our current dish.

3. The food is always delicious......but when they have a duck or lamb special for pasta....the 2 times I've had it I remember thinking "Oh that sounds good" but when I receive the dish the more unique protein such as duck or lamb has been grounded up....like ground beef, so personally I completely loose the flavor/ taste of the duck or protein...so it's definitely not the same.

This place has a ton of reviews so I will keep mine short.

Three items that have never failed me each time I have dined here:

1. Calamari & Royal Red Shrimp Fritto Misto:
- the peppers and the dipping sauce really make this appetizer great

2. Any of the flatbreads:
- perfect for sharing!!! I've only had 2 of the 3 flatbreads (the Goat Cheese and Artichoke and the Mushroom and Tomato), but I'm sure the third is just as good

3. Lamb Sandwich:
- This sandwich has been perfect every time. The lamb is so juicy and tender, nestled between two nice pieces of bread with all the fixings (au jus, onion marmalade, horseradish)

You're bound to make a good choice with any or all of these.

Came here for this past Sunday for dinner after the movies.
Location was conveniently located next to the landmark, it was late and we wanted to have dinner asap.
I had their short ribs for dinner, which I can't complain much about. It was tender but the sauce was a little to strong for me.
Customer service was fantastic and we were seated right away.
If I'm ever in need of a meal after the movies, I won't hesitate to come here and try something else off their menu.

Am I the only one who walked past the door of this place not realizing it was the door? Seriously, its like this big piece of wood that blends into the siding of the wall that kinda has a door length handle... maybe I'm just retarded.

I liked Western Tavern. Liked it even more because I came with coworkers and my boss bought the appetizers and first round (read: this place is not cheap). Its a large space, cleanly decorated. Very impressive selection of cocktails, whiskeys and scotch (I'll get back to that). We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table but my favorite was the charcuterie board (off menu) which had some delectable cheese, bits of amazing sliced ham and these delicious tiny pickles that were neither sweet nor sour but certainly looked like pickles and made me happy. The calamari was also good though you can get a decent enough calamari at happy hour elsewhere for half the price.

Not everyone in my group ordered dinner. Two got the cheese burger which was raved about but didn't look like much special from my end. I had the sea bass (catch of the day) on a bed of roasted potatoes and green onions. It was one of those meals you're angry at for being so small- perfectly seasoned, the fish was incredibly moist, its skin crispy perfection. The potatoes could have been a WEEE bit softer but they were not lacking for anything.

This place loses a star for service. Impressed by the scotch selection I decided to let my boss treat me to a scotch I'd never tasted before, the Lagavulin 16 year. I usually order my scotch with one ice cube and have never had an issue with a bartender picking up one cube for my glass because most bartenders understand scotch drinkers, like their martini drinking counterparts, are picky mofo's. I ordered my drink as I usually do and then remembered this was a new scotch so I quickly revised my order to have an ice cube in a separate cup so I could taste the undiluted scotch before the melting ice lengthened the drink. Our server walked back to the POS system literally 5 feet away from our table and openly complained to his coworker about me being difficult with my order. His co-worker at one point asked "one ice cube?" and laughed and they both had a moment where they turned back to the table (not sure if it was directed at me or someone else) and scoffed at us with their eyeballs.

My scotch came out accompanied by a glass overflowing with giant ice cubes, a move I thought was jerky and unnecessary until our sever NEVER came back to refill our water and I needed my melted ice water for liquid sustenance. Outside of that moment the service wasn't horrible and it wouldn't stop me from coming back (especially on someone else's dime) but next time I'd appreciate a little more shut up from the wait staff to accompany my scotch.

Never again! The Yellowtail fish entree and calamari appetizer were extremely salty which alone ruined the entire meal. The vegetarian burger was decent 3/5. Nice ambiance somewhat but not the best service.

Overall:
Food 1.5/5 (too much salt)
Service 2.5/5
Ambiance 4/5
Cleanliness 4.5/5

We've dined here several times now, and every time, I'm left unsatisfied.

Everything starts off sounding delicious on the menu. Something about the execution..leave something to be desired. The flavors never balance right. Things are too bitter or too sweet or too over-dressed. Even when i opted for something as plain as a ceasar salad, i was left wanting. Something about it was just so tasteless and uninteresting.

We've ordered the brussel sprouts and the man and cheese each twice now, just to make sure we didn't catch them on an off day and... nope. The sprouts are too vinegary and the mac and cheese is too bland. dare i say... too much cheese? I didn't think such a thing was possible, but there is definitely too much bland cheese in this one.

Had a cup of soup here, too, that was so forgettable, i have actually forgotten what it was...cream of something... something indistinguishable from cream of something else... could have been cream of anything, is the point - it wasn't good.

table service isn't rude at all, but... stand-offish, i might say. they seem to take a long time to come around for your order and then you never see them again after they drop off the food. once, they took so long to come by for the order, we almost left (and we are patient people, to a fault, most times). when i got the ceasar salad, i wanted to ask them if i could exchange it for something else, but by the time i flagged someone down, my boyfriend had already finished his meal and we just decided to be done with it.

I think we have given them enough chances. I won't be taken in by tempting sounding dishes anymore. the result is too meh to bother with.

I had a great time at the Westside Tavern. I went in for a little pre-matinee lunch; it's located just down stairs from the Landmark Theater. The dining room has a comfy warm feeling with a fantastic front window that runs the length of the building. W

I'm a club sandwich fanatic and so I had to have the Chicken & Avocado Club. It came on terrific sliced and toasted sour dough, with bacon, tomato, roasted garlic aioli and a side of sea-salted fries. I sloshed my scrumptious sandy down with a pint of Sculpin-IPA form the Ballast Point Brewing Company. I loved it.

The service was totally adequate, friendly in fact, but they ever so slightly dropped the ball at the end when I had to wait 15-minutes to pay my bill. Not a serious problem other than I was trying to make a movie. Definitely not a deal breaker.

So there it is, great and comfortable atmosphere, great food and good service the trifecta. I'll plan on visiting next time I go to the Landmark for a movie.

There were probably more hits than misses here but it wasn't anything I'll be writing home about (just Yelp).

The Caesar salad was uneventful. The croutons were so sharp and hard that they jabbed and scraped the inside of my mouth. The filet was sliced and I hate it when they do that! Lets all the juices out. The French fries were good.

Service was fine and its a neat atmosphere so it has that. And it was late on a Sunday night so maybe that's it.

Flat face

Westside Tavern is located in Westside Pavilion, so take advantage of the 3 hours of free parking! Unfortunately, they don't offer a happy hour, but that doesn't deter me from enjoying the food! They even offer a private dining room for those special events!

The Mushroom & Roasted Tomato Fontina flatbread is certainly one of the highlights of the menu! The crust is thicker than your typical flatbread, but with just the right amount of crunch! The flatbread is also drizzled with just the right amount of truffle oil.

I ordered the lamb French dip sandwich based off of other Yelp reviews and found it to be above average, but nothing spectacular. I'll probably try something else next time. But they do make a pretty decent Old Fashioned!

I truly do love this restaurant. One of my favorites in LA. The thing is it's literally right beneath one of my favorite Movie Theatres in Los Angeles as well "The Landmark", and the two combined is damn near unstoppable as far as date nights.

I'm not going to lie, my favorite meal here is actually their burger and fries. Not because everything else isn't good. In fact, the other meals I've tried here were fantastic...but I'm writing about the burger. This is a top 10 burger in Los Angeles, and anyone that knows me knows how precious that list is to me lol.

Succulent, juicy, flavorful, spiced perfectly, huge, delicious, and taking me all of our date to eat it...with a huge side of fries as well...there is no question that I won't be back just for that. The problem is, as much as I would like to explore some of the other things I haven't had on the menu, I can't not take advantage of the burger when I'm there...especially if I see someone else eating it. I tend to get jealous in that way.

I only give it a 4 star because the waiter we had that day came off as...fake. You know how sometimes you can see the "i hate my life" behind someone's smile? It just felt too much like that...and that has happened to me on several occasions here, but only with that one water, so maybe it's just him. Regardless, it always takes me out of the experience whenever I get "stuck" with him as our waiter.

I give Westside Tavern, a very yummy 4 out of 5 stars.

Decided to have dinner near the west side. i want to try this restaurant which is located in a mall. They don't take reservation during dinner. Just walk in. During 7:30 on friday night wait wasn't so bad. Place was pack but the turn around was quick.

Ambiance: it nice and cozy feeling where is not to crowded. It was a bit loud but it was okay as we were not close to the bar area.

Service: Our waiter was super friendly, accommodating and attentive

Food: Came out fast and was HOT

Jar of Chicken Liver mousse: Portion of the dish was huge, come with grilled sourdough, It was delicious. Couldn't finish it had to take it to go

Mac & Cheese: it was gooey of goodness. It had the perfect amount of crunch on top. This was a calorie packed side not for the dieters. The waiter had warn us that it is very filling.

Flatbread Roasted mushroom with truffle oil: It had a good combination of the arugula and mushroom. These days anything with truffle oil tastes good.

Soup: Cream corn soup served HOT. It was delicious and YUMMY

Red Quinoa & Kale: First time i tried it and i fell in love with it. All the component and flavor mesh together is absolutely amazing.

Warm Sticky Toffee: First bit was warm but very very sweet. Not my favorite dish

overall, i had good experience and will come back.

First impression: it's not a tavern, or a pub, but a re-branded urbanish-attempt of a Houston's (decor only, this is a smaller menu). It's big, loud, and doesn't have the feel that I am looking for. In no manner do I want a corporate Tavern, and this is what the Westside Tavern feels like. Boo. Is Randy in a stinky, naysayer, poo poo mood? Well, I don't think so. I'm still very excited about the burger and fries that I've ordered...and I write this review while I wait.

I already know what you're thinking, "Hey Randy, you are so picky! What do you like in a tavern, Mr. Big Shot?" Well, since you asked:

I like an urban and rustic decor, lots of crafts, great burgers and apps. I like happy hour specials. I like my servers to be cooler and hipper than myself, with tattoos, and great personalities. Taverns I like play music I know, and an occasional new tune by a new band that I've never heard of before, and I want to immediately download it on my own.

I also like a young, vibrant crowd. This, to say it nicely and respectfully, is the opposite. The Westside Tavern seems to primarily attract a few 20's and 30's, but mostly 55-80. If your looking for vibrant, you'll have to drive a mile to the UCLA campus. If I wanted to be disrespectful, I'd say lots of hunched over 5'0" ladies are gathering here, and a staff that look like Screech (not actors, not models, and definitely not America's Got Talent here).

The structured and underground parking with 3 hours free just adds to my dislike. Can I relax, or have to look at my watch while kicken' it? Who wants to have to rush, hurry outta here, or pay the piper? 3 hours free might be fine, but not if before or after I'm shopping at Macy's, picking up gifts from Gap Kids, or buying See's for my mama.

The color scheme here is 3 shades of brown. No chalkboards of drafts (actually, I saw a medium-sized one on a wall near the kitchen. No one sees this board. No happy hour specials, no color, no artwork, and no "pop" whatsoever. Sorry, I don't count red EXIT signs.

Then, the music. First, its fricken loud already with all openness and no fabrics to absorb it. Beat music, just adds a sporadic beat as most of it is drowned out to loud voices and drunk laughter. It does not add "good" to any part of the experience.

Then, my Cheeseburger and fries ($14) arrive (ya know, it's a Randy Berger favorite). Presentation was just aight, as the burger looked too small compared to the elevated bowl of fries. http://www.yelp.com/biz_… The 6 oz-ish meat is sufficient, with a really nice brioche bun -- perfect. It had a great taste, and it was welcomed down the hatch. But it was really short, like 3". Even with the cheese, and the more-than-delicious caramelized onions, the arugula was a skimp portion. C'mon guys. Water it, and make it grow. It totally lacked presentation points. I'd rate the burger a 4.5 on flavor and quality.

Based on my experience, I have no desire to make this the reason for coming to the Westside Pavilion. If I happen to be there for a movie or otherwise, I suppose as long as there wasn't a wait.

Is Randy in a stinky, naysayer, and poo poo mood after all? Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not. So there.

Cool ambiance - dimly lit and lots of seating for groups. I like that the location is next to the movie theaters so you can grab a bite before or after your show. All the food we tried was good, but my personal favorite was the warm sticky toffee cake with mascarpone cream. Probably the best version of the dessert that I've had so far (and I've tried quite a few!).

There are a lot of things that make this a very typical LA casual dining spot. The mall location is not one of them. Rather than the chain feeling of a lot of mall restaurants, the Westside Tavern feels like a chill version of one of the Hillstone Restaurants.

We split the mac 'n cheese with crispy onions, and this dish was really well-done. The cheese was creamy and the onions provided just enough taste & texture to keep this interesting. I had the Roasted Mary's chicken, which was juicy and tender without falling prey to the dryness that can happen to roasted chicken. The four cheese flatbread was good, but not outstanding.

We enjoyed great service by a dude who seemed like he'd be more at home out on the waves than in this place, but that was just part of the fun. The prices are a little elevated for what you get, but it's overall a nice experience.

Bottom Line: All in all we loved this place. Our server was a real pro and was on top of the game. Our food came out fast, was hot and awesome. This is a great spot!

The place impressed me I have to say. Ill get to the food in a minute because there is a pretty cool thing about this place that 99% of the patrons will never see.
A lot of money and time has been spent in this place to make it aurally pleasing - that is to say it sounds good. Many of these hipster type joints are busy and as a result very noisy. A lot of care has been put into various different types of sound diffusers around the room to keep sound from reverberating. Many of walls are artsy wood panels as well as the ceiling. That's not for art so much as it's to diffuse sound moving around the room keeping it from being a loud, obnoxious room.
The walkways to the bathroom are cork - very good at absorbing sound especially at very high frequencies. The ceiling has slats of wood, the floors and many of the walls are different kinds of gorgeous wood all of which contribute to this place being a nice place to sit and have a conversation.
It's still pretty noisy when it's packed but NEARLY as bad as it would be if they wouldn't have put the thought into making it better.
Almost nobody who owns are restaurant gives a crap about any of this stuff. The people that run this place want you to enjoy yourself while you're there and they want you to come back.
Ok..... now some food perhaps??

I ordered the "man salad" as I call it - Filet salad which was lovely but WATCH OUT for the horseradish. It will kick you in the sinus faster than you can say Mr.Ed. I really liked it but its not for the faint of heart for sure.

My wife had the flatbread pizza thing which was nice. Lots of flavor and she loved it.
Wife's friend had the burger which i was REALLY surprised. It was really good. Ill put it on my top 5 burgers in LA without a doubt. 1/2 pound is way too big for normal people....they should have a 1/3 or 1/4 pound version for less ambitious folks. But again, awesome burger.

Wife's friend's husband got the Grilled cheese and tomato soup and I would say that this was the weakest link at the table. I like that they didnt try to make it too fancy because it's supposed to be basic, and its basic. It comes on two pieces of Texas toast and a little bowl of soup. The actual grilled cheese, there's nothing wrong with it but the Tomato soup is like eating Marinara sauce..... it's VERY tomato-y....... I didnt like it at all. That's just my preference but when I think of Tomato soup there more of a creamy element there...

Met a friend here for lunch, on Saturday, recently.

The place was not too busy, but that could be because we arrived at 2 p.m.

The menu is pretty extensive. It's a contemporary type of place. I had the salmon burger, and my friend ordered the veggie burger. I am shocked to say, the veggie burger was by far better. It wasn't dry but rather juicy and delicious. I highly recommend it.

They have a great cocktail menu as well, and a variety of beers to choose from.

Service was prompt and courteous. It's especially convenient, if you are going to catch a movie at the Landmark.

I liked' the ambiance.

I usually walk past this place on the way to the movies, but happened to stop in here for a drink. They have a nice selection of cocktails-- try the Grapefruit Rickey-- vodka, St. Germain, lime and grapefruit juice.

The service was negligent, though, as the bartender placed my drink down and never came back. This kept me from becoming inebriated, and it's like... you're a bar.

OohhhMeeeGeeee, I must stay away from here every time I see a movie at Landmark. But until that time comes, Westside Tavern is a good dinning spot before a movie.
The Artichoke & Goat Cheese Flatbread is delicious. There were plenty of Artichokes all around. With two types of cheese - goat cheese and mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Flatbread never tasted so good.
The Lamb French Dip is mouthwatering good too. Be mindful that it is a messy sandwich.
The sticky Toffee Cake will forever be the dessert to get here. It comes out warm and gooey with a large lump of mascarpone cream to top it off.

This place was great. I am still rubbing it in to my sister that she didn't get to go. And when I forget to, she reminds me.

I had an amazing basil cocktail here, which I should point out that this is my first review where I feature my drink first. Slightly sweet balanced by the spice of the herb. Plus, bonus points for feeling fancy drinking it.

As far as the food goes, everything we had was a star: From the burger to the grilled cheese to the soup to the macaroni and cheese to brussel sprouts, to the fantastic flatbread.

The Artichoke & Goat Cheese had the perfect amount of crispness to heartiness to balance the toppings.

The tomato-basil soup was creamy and paired will with the crisp yet gooey grilled cheese.

The grilled salmon burger was light with a bit of tang to the dressing which counterpointed well to the creamy avocado.

The burgers were hearty and juicy.

The mac and cheese was incredibly decadent. If it were not impolite in company to lick the bowl, I might have considered it.

And the brussel sprouts were tart with the right amount of crisp added with the fried Prosciutto.

Be prepared for a decently long wait, or play vulture around the bar tables if that suits your fancy.

Yum.. still having happy thoughts about the salmon I had here Saturday night..mmm

We met up with a large party here to celebrate a birthday. They had the back room reserved for the occasion. The restaurant itself was really impressive, very large bar and dining room, modern upscale feel and it was a little loud in the main dining room, but not overly so. The backroom came fully equipped with it's own bar and cocktail menu which was scaled down to accomodate our party. The service for our party was on top of everything and the bartender was really accomodating and friendly.

I had the Grapefruit Rickey, which tasted just like a slightly sweet grapefruit - no alcohol taste which was a little scary because I could easily down several of these in a matter of minutes.. I did not do that however and instead sat down to a delicious dinner.

The prix fixe menu offered a green salad, choice of three entrees off the restaurant menu and the chocolate bread pudding for dessert. I chose the salmon, which was served with roasted carrots, pea shoots and pea pesto.. The fresh spring flavors popped off the plate and the lemon vinaigrette tamed the sweetness of the peas.. overall, a superb dish with seasonality kept in mind. The bread pudding was chocolatey and delicious, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce. Divine!!

This place is located in the Westside Pavilion Mall so plenty of parking.

If you're looking for a quick, casual bite, this place is perfect. It's good for groups or a casual date. Service is also fast and friendly.

As for the food, they have a great SAUSAGE FLAT BREAD, a very flavorful BRAISED SHORT-RIB and an amazing, thick, cheesy GRILLED CHEESE. Get a cup of SOUP DU JOUR to dip your grilled cheese in. It's a slam-dunk combo!!!

The MAC & CHEESE was also delicious. If you're looking for something on the healthier side, there's a patch of grass you can snack on outside by the curb. Just kidding, the NECTARINE & BURRATA SALAD and the GRILLED CHICKEN CLUB were pretty good.

They have a good selection of beers on tap to help wash down all that tasty grub.

The damage was $113 + tip for 4.....PRETTY CHEAP!!!!

Came here for lunch the other day and was very pleased!

We had the chicken liver mousse for our appetizer, which was delicious, and a generous portion for $11. Our server was kind enough to bring out more of the sliced ciabatta so we could make the most of the serving.

For entrees, we had the lamb french dip, the salmon burger, and the chicken club. Everything was solid, but the salmon burger was definitely the winner! The homemade potato chips were also a great side. The sandwich portions were generous, and we ended up taking home quite a few leftovers.

We topped everything off with the warm sticky toffee cake, which was delicious. Topped with cool, whipped mascarpone, the cake was moist and warm, drenched in a caramel sauce with crunchy/chewy pieces of toffee inside. Needless to say, we had major food coma afterwards!

Overall, the food was great, and the service was also spot on. I'm hoping to come back soon for dinner (and to try more of the desserts too)! :)

Another friend who has never tried WST, has now experienced this life-changing event!

Today for lunch, I brought a buddy here who amazingly had never heard of or even been to Westside Tavern. This is unusual as this isn't a person living underground---just a normal Angeleno. (Ok, normal is relative.)

I had the Ahi appetizer and a bowl of lentil soup, both of which were specials and both were excellent. The ahi was like poke with a southwestern spicy sauce. The soup is really large-(I opted for a bowl v a cup).

Great service and free 4 hour parking in the garages below Westside Pavilion.

Hint: The specials are always worth listening to!

This place is amazing and i loved my food.
At first when we entered we thought it should be a $$$ place, because it was so decent looking.
We started by having a flat bread which was Amazing to perfection ,then i ordered tomato soup(which i recently got addicted to) and lamb sandwich.my soup was simple tomato paste but the meat,i sometimes dream about it when i am hungry.
Definitely going back
