Came here for a birthday party a while ago.
It was quiet for a bowling alley. Â We had a few lanes to ourselves.
I had a great time.
Love that they have hard cider!!!
Oh and the staff is friendly, I got the wrong size shoes (my feet can't seem to ever be the same size, like ever). Â The clerk at the front was happy to swap them out for me.
I would come back again! (but I'm a really bad bowler, so only with a group! after all, what's more fun than a little public humiliation?!)
Uhm.... Never ever.....ever....
Soooooo..... My bf and I just bought new bowling balls.... less than a month ago.
We always go to Brunswick (Woodridge).... We bought our balls at Competetive Edge inside Brunswick (Woodridge).
We decided to try bowling somewhere else....
Wrong freakin decision.... Gaaaaaaaaaah :(
We went to Willowbrook lanes Saturday, September 1st around 3ish....
It's like we went inside a time capsule, and went back to the 70's.....
Smelled old, looked old.... Ewwwww....
Bar? What bar?
Not much customers... So we decided to stay.... Fail.... Fail... Fail....
Our bowling balls got stuck... Got chipped all over....
Jerry, I guess one of the managers or tech guys, gave us a ticket, stating that they can fix our balls.
He said, there's no bowling alley that  will "fix" our balls, just them....and that they will "fix" it for free.....
Are you kidding me?????????
I wanted to scream at him.... "maybe you need to update the whole place, and get new bowling lanes and no technical error, will eat the balls and chip brand new ones anymore..."
Ugh... Sooooo annoying....
I don't want my balls "fixed"
I want them to replace my damn ball.
It won't roll the same way anymore.... Not even if they try to patch or re-surface the top.....
We should've stepped away, the moment we saw the old 70's decor vibe...
My verdict... Never ever will I go to a place like this.... Ever....
Really a decent bowling alley, average in just about every way. Â They've got at least 30 lanes here, plus a bar and a group-event room for birthday parties and the like. Â A couple TVs around were showing the White Sox game. Â The only odd thing about it was how empty it was on a Friday night!
Review Source:I called Saturday afternoon to ask when would be a good time to come bowling with my 5-year-old and 3-year-old kids (they've never bowled before). They told me to come Sunday at 10:30am and ask for Bob. When I got there Sunday morning the place was completely packed and I was told they wouldn't have any free lanes available "until at least 9pm." Bob was nowhere to be found and the man behind the desk was curt, brusque, and unsympathetic. He said I should call ahead first to make sure they didn't have any leagues bowling. Considering that's EXACTLY what I did the day before, I will not be returning to Willowbrook Lanes.
Review Source:Can you say AUTO-SCORING? Â That was the deciding factor in selecting this bowling spot AND the Cosmic Bowling.
We went on a Friday night, there were casual leagues, so we couldn't get a lane until after 9pm. Â Points taken away because Cosmic Bowling didn't start until 10:30pm because the leagues went late.
This spot is like an old fashioned bowling alley except for the automatic scoring. Â I found the shoes to be really like, thin and with no support. Â Easy to slip and fall if you're not careful.
There's a bar and there was a classic rock band playing. Â We started bowling at 9pm and were done by 10:30, playing 3 games. Â We did get to at least 'see' what the 'in the dark' bowling looked like. Â
After 9:30pm you can purchase 5 games for $15/pp. Â If you buy 'per game' during this time period, its $6.25/ per game. Â Choose wisely!
It was really cool. Â We'll be back!
I've been here a couple times now and its a pretty decent bowling alley.
Never too crowded and their prices and deals are usually pretty good.
Theres also something really cool about their bar. I can't put my finger on what it is I just know I really like it. Their beer selection is actually pretty good for this kind of place as well, not amazing but definitely above average.
Actually thats my feeling on this place as a whole, not amazing but definitely above average. 4 stars!
Willow Lanes is a great place to go with friends on Friday night. They have great "Bowl all you want" deals and many many lanes. They are never crowded and have cool atmosphere.
Also, you can quench your thirst at the bar. Sometimes they have some bands come and perform live there but I'm not sure on which days. Anyway, great place and the best deals for bowling.
Hands down the best bowling deal I have found living in Illinois! $15 on a Saturday night for all you can bowl from 9:30pm-1am. Shoes are included as well as late night Papa John's pizza! The place wasn't super crowded on our excursion and we were able to get a lane right away and bowled 2 Â 1/2 games. There wasn't a big selection of bowling balls and there is a minimum for your credit card purchases at the bar. I believe karaoke is also available based on the *ahem* terrible singing. A bit of a hike from the city but it is thankfully off of I-55, so no traffic on the weekends.
