This is my go-to bar in Denver. Â If you can't handle real, deep dish pizza, get the thin crust. Â The Big Pizzle is fantastic. Â Awesome servers, awesome service, awesome ambiance. Â Good place to watch sports and a great pool table with cues that aren't totally jacked up.
If you haven't been, and you'd be into lowkey, high quality sports bars... Â this is your spot. Â Even if you aren't a Chicago sports fan.
I have tried to like this joint, but every time the service has been bad.
I went in after midnight with a buddy Friday night. Â The bar was not packed and a few seats were occupied. Â We sat at a booth and waited seven minutes. Â No one came over to greet us (which has happened twice before at this very same booth). Â We decided to get up and get service at the bar.
Flash forward another 10 minutes, and a bartender finally came over to greet us. Â He saw us sit down, but was too busy on the other side of the bar. Â Once he took our drink order, the greeting and interaction was forced. Â The bartender came off and annoyed and intoxicated. Â I ordered a beer and a shot. Â The shot was a very small pour, and was a terrible value. Â
I proceeded to watch the bartender take one shot with a regular, commenting that he was going to have to take a cab home that night. Â The bartender should not have been serving guests, no matter how much fun he wanted to have with his regulars.
I will not be back, unless forced.
