I work just a few blocks from Agostino's, and my coworkers and I eat lunch here at least once a week. Â We were some of his first customers after he opened, and have been returning ever since.
Agostino starts early in the morning and prepares all of the food himself. Â He offers one or two specials every day, including Lasagna, beef ravioli, chicken fettucini alfredo, rigatoni and cheese tortellini. Â He also has stromboli of different varieties and pizza by the slice. Â Fresh breadsticks, salad and garlic bread are on the side. Pepperoni breadsticks are unique and delicious. Â Homemade cheesecake is also very good, I usually take it to go since I have no room for dessert.
I highly recommend the veggie lasagna! Â My coworkers love the homemade stromboli.
Agostino delivers to the local area and throughout downtown. Â We sometimes order pizzas to take home after work, and he delivers to our business. Â We have ordered whole pans of lasagna for company meetings and to take home for entertaining.
The decor is rather plain, but it is clean and bright. Â Agostino is always friendly and cheerful. Â This is a great place to go for a quick lunch downtown.
Been on a pizza kick lately and I drive by Agostino's frequently so I decided to take a lunch break and try out their "New York" style pizza.
I ordered two slices of pepperoni and a small drink. It was $8, which is one of the most expensive "two slices and a drink" lunches I have had in Indianapolis (and even in New York!). The staff was friendly though, and the drinks allow free refills (Coca-Cola!).
My pizza was okay - I still enjoy Giorgio's more. The crust at Agostino's is dense, more doughy and not so crispy. The cheese is fine and the pepperoni had a nice taste, the pizza was super greasy (expected, but really really greasy). They also offer salads and pasta, and offer a slice of cheese for about $1.50.
The decor is blase - white walls and no music, the latter could add a bit more to the environment.
Stick with the lunch special or download a coupon from the Indy Coupon website for a better deal. I don't think that two slices and a small drink are worth just over $8. But, it's nice to have another pizza place in town for a pinch.
