Do Not GO Here for New Years Eve! I bought premium tickets last year for open bar for 3 hrs. What a joke, first the place was packed, second they had two bartenders working the main bar-I got one drink during my open bar, my friends also got served once, what a joke and a big waste of money. They should of had more staff working. I only got more free drinks when the champagne came out.
Review Source:America's Backyard is crazy. this huge venue is awesome! Came here back in the summer when I was down in Fort Lauderdale for a little getaway. After doing some research and getting tired of Miami nightlife, we came across Fort Lauderdale nightlife. Unbeknownst to us, Fort Lauderdale is just as good as Miami, maybe even better. While doing the research we found America's Backyard. It looked really amazing in the pictures provided and they had a yelp deal going on, sweeeet!. We decided to check this place out and if it were not a place for us, there were plenty other lounges in the area.
Arriving at the downtown Fort Lauderdale area on a Thursday night was fairly quick for us. The area was very live and vibrant with club-goers and bar hoppers, some even just for dinner. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. We parked in a lot right across from America's Backyard which is actually on a side street and not the main street with the other lounges, clubs, etc. Walking over the first thing I noticed was that it looked like a factory from the outside and had art on the outside walls. Also it had no roof! It was completely open with just a tent over it. Duh....hence the name "backyard" it was designed to be out in the open like a backyard. They checked our I.d.'s and let us in. I loved it in inside! The big circular shaped bar was in the middle of the room and it had two floors with seating. It wasn't crowded much, but I figured it wouldn't be for a Thursday night. We walked over to the bar and grabbed some seats. The bartender was hot! Lol she gave us the menus and we told her about the yelp deal, which she then informed us that we had to tell the guy at the front door.
One friend went over to tell the guy and we stayed. Looking over the menu, they had good food and drinks. We were all in the mood for frozen drinks but they did not have. Bummer. Not a problem, we decided on the "Pink Lemonade" drink and got a pitcher of it since there were three of us. Since we didn't have dinner we also ordered food. We ordered the "Sliders with homecut fries" "Traditional West Coast Wings" and I think  another friend ordered the "Crab Cakes". My friend came back with tickets for the yelp deal we had purchased. We gave them one ticket for the drink and one for the food. We had an extra one and they even gave us one more! The hot bartender was super sweet! And the "Pink Lemonade" she made was really good! Just like regular plain lemonade!.
The food came and I must admit it was yummers! The sliders were my favorite so so good! The wings were perfect and crispy with the right amount of sauce and so were the fries. I did not try the crab cakes but my friend said it was just okay.
By now a few more people had came in and were dancing and having a good time. The staff at America's Backyard encourage you to get on top of the bar and dance. They even provide hula hoops and whistles. On the other side of the bar they literally have shower heads where you pull a chain and they turn on. They apparently get really wild at this venue lol.
I will most definitely come back here just because I enjoyed everything about this place. And I will also like to see it at its full potential on a real party night.
i LOVE Americas...its very old school and enbraces its name. Very backyard bbq feel. Â DJ goes through old school songs and some current ones but they keep you on the dance floor.
No cover for broward or palm beach residence, sell food early in the night and best buy would be the lemonade pitchers
I came to ABY for the first time while on a bar crawl of Fort Lauderdale. Â The word that comes to mind is -Pleasure Island. Â Its a big open area with variously themed alcohol booths all around the periphery. Â Weekends can be crazy, but...it can also be a nice outdoor place to go with some friends after work/school. Â Its a bit excessive but it can be fun as well. Â Also, its outdoors, so don't come here in the rain unless your already totally wasted.

I've come here twice now. Â The first time my fiance and I came on a Saturday and didnt have to pay a cover charge. For some reason this past Saturday my girlfriend and I came and yes it was a $5.00 cover. Â Which okay $5.00 is not bad but kind of disappointing considering the prices on drinks. Â I could see if they had some kind of drink special going on..then maybe. Â
The Crowd:
It was mostly youngins. Â I would say just turned 21-23. Â Then you had a few creepy very old guys. Â And then about 30% of the crowd 23-35. Â Not sure if I saw anyone over 35 here and the place got packed. Â I liked the fact that they didnt have a lot of girls dressed like they were going to a club in South Beach. Â Most people had jeans and a nice top and flip flops or sandals. Â
The Drinks. Â
The drinks tasted awesome. Â Very strong but very good. Â The bartender was OK. Â We used our YELP certificate deal and I don't think they appreciated that much. Â I mean we did leave a $15.00 tip at the end. Â So no need to think we werent going to tip. Â I asked for a certain drink from the one bartender. Â She told me that she couldnt make that for me because some girl got fired the week before for doing it. Â Meanwhile it was the girl that she asked if she could do it or not who made me the drink the week before. Â I was willing to pay whatever it cost ..I just wanted my drink! :)
Contest:
They have drinkin contests. Â They also give out free shots from the shot girl/guys on the bar at random times.
Dancing:
Oh man..this was the funnest part. Â They do have some good looking dancers on the bar. Â Random people also dance on the bar. Â It did stink when girls would stand up on the bar and then just chat with their friends. Â If you aren't going to dance....GET OFF THE BAR! Â But dancing on the dance floor was so fun. Â I don't like the dang napkins all over the place. Â I think its kinda tacky. Â I did have fun hitting the beach ball around. Â It was fun.
Bathroom:
They should always keep both bathrooms open. Upstairs and downstairs. Â Because waiting in line forever to use the bathroom is just :(
So yeah that was my experience. Â I had fun. Â If the yelp deal continues I might go back again. Â Drinks are expensive here but it is a club..in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.
Did some barhopping last night with some coworkers after work and we started here. Its a pretty chill place, with a fun and energetic crowd. No cover charge, and you can dress relax, since its outdoors. Multiple bars so you're not waiting forever for a drink. The staff is friendly and most importantly the drinks are dirt cheap, they have 1 dollar beers and mix drinks. Obviously they're not the top shelf drinks though lol, but I had a great time!
Review Source:After living in Fort Laudy for school for a few years. We used to find out selves here every Thursday for college night. College Night $1 beers! I think I kept a running total and we were up to 10 weeks in a row of coming here. We were having that much fun. The entire place is outside and there a few bars to get drinks from. The center bar looks like a swimming pool. The music is blasting and dance floor is alway packed after midnight. The only time it wasn't was when we came out even tho it was raining and still the place was happening but not packed. Also this is not the place to show up sober only to show up after a few drinks. As always don't forget your DD when you come here!

If you don't meet the aforementioned requirements, then you'll have to channel your inner 21 year old for a night out here. It's a fun "backyard" party in the downtown Ft. Lauderdale area. The crowd is young, mostly college kids, out for the night having a good time with music blaring from their middle and high school days. There's some recent stuff too, and it's always keeping the party going. The music is definitely a highlight for me every time I've been to ABY because it's fun, upbeat, and doesn't take itself too seriously.
Drinks can get expensive, but that's everywhere, and prices are on par with most places in the area.
Dress code is a little more casual as this place is outdoors- I like this part of ABY too! Inside is Revolution Live, and the first time I went, we were able to go in and out of the two venues. I think there were concerts going on the other times I went so we were only in the main area outside.
So, this place is fun, carefree, and a nice night off from some of the smoke filled, wannabe "upscale" clubs in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Enjoy!
I just remember having a really fun time and it so big. Love that it's outdoors. We went on a special night and they had great drink specials, so we had a lot. Music was fun, crowd as lively, and drinks were pouring. If you want to dance and have a fun, memorable night out with friends, go here!
Review Source:Ok ok ok before you judge...this place is one of those places where you must appreciate it for what it is. And that is TRASHY to the tenth power! This is not a place that is trying to be anything more than a free-for-all get drunk and screw type of place. Girls in mini-skirts, tight dresses, lots and lots of neon. Guys dancing and stumbling and grinding. You get the picture! Go if you are looking for Top 40 music and drinking till falling down. Variety is the spice of life ~Just make sure you use protection!!!
Review Source:A friend and I spent the greater portion of the week in the nearby town of Pompano Beach Florida. After only staying here a few hours, we realized we'd much sooner find our grandmothers strolling the beach than find a local watering hole. An old friend of mine recommended America's Backyard as a solid place to go on a Friday night.
We took her advice and spent the whole night here. As a New Yorker accompanied by a native Philadelphian, I wasn't expecting much other than a beach themed bar... I was wrong. America's Backyard is the common stomping ground for every walk of life in Ft. Lauderdale. Our female bartender seemed to have lost the majority of her clothes as the night progressed, all while the barbacks took turns throwing ice around the outdoor lounge area.
If you're in the area and don't want to spend the small inheritance your aunt left you on a night out in downtown Miami, then this is the place for you. Drinks are reasonable and the atmosphere is vibrant enough to keep Hellen Keller entertained.
America's Backyard gets four stars because the bar tender didn't get completely naked, otherwise, a five in my book. Oh, and try not to get hit with the toilet paper!
One of my favorite places! Never had to pay cover, can dress pretty casual, good drinks, and tons of dancing. Â It's basically a giant party, they pass out free shots on the bar every hour, there are hula hoops, sprinklers, and giant drinks with giant straws to share. Â It's just an awesome place for a good time, and gets really rowdy around 12-1am. Â They are super helpful if you are organizing a birthday or something, so shoot them an email!

Although this is coming from my California-state-of-mind, this place was the ideal Spring Break vibe. Definitely the heart of a younger crowd in the area, the set up was the center bar in the shape of a swimming pool, with bars all around upstairs and down, with girls selling shots all around. Cheap drinks, always a plus. (Stay away from the souvenir mugs and whatever. Do NOT pay $15 for a bunch of juice, unless you really want that souvenir.)
Hourly free shots all around from the friendly bar tenders dressed as lifeguards aka hardly dressed, a "splash zone" sprinklers above creating a "dancing in the rain" except drunk and in the beautiful 80 degree weather at 3 a.m, no cover, this place is a winnnnner to get belligerently wild. And honestly, who doesn't love having a good time?
Friendly bouncer (say what? unheard of!) Great music, good looking crowd, amazing vibe, very friendly people. Will definitely make a stop back here if I'm ever in the area again.
I've been here for a concert and for a night out on the town. It's not the biggest space, and it is mainly outdoors. They have some really good drink specials and if you know someone who works or promotes for there they can hook you up with free drinks. The cups they serve the drinks in are  really funky! It's definitely a nice place to chill at in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Review Source:Too old for Spring Break?! NEVER (as anyone who knows me can attest to). And as such, America's Backyard is right up my 21-year-old alley.
We were chilling next door at the Poorhouse when my gaze slowly started to wander towards the frat boys, yupsters and hot chicks I saw lining up for AB. Not to mention the Spring Break posters and raucous sounds wafting our way. This was enough to lure me from my comfy chair and PBR and get me through their door.
This place is two massive stories of drunken debauchery. Bartenders stand on the counters and pour out free shots. There's a "candy bar" (cutest thing ever) serving jolly ranchers and jello shots. They make giant drinks and hand out hula hoops for patrons to practice with.
I fully intended to make off with one of the Svedka pitchers (in which they serve a wickedly strong and delicious drink, complete with long sharing straws), but after multiple shots and a hefty portion of the pitcher, I plumb forgot.
Seriously, for a girl like me, what's not to love? This is Hannah Banana in all her glory. If you like to party, if you like easy-to-dance-to tunes and strong drinks, if you like to get a 'lil wild, you'll love it here. Trust me. :)
If you got tribal tattoos and/or a tramp stamp and enjoy having a "DJ" use Virtual DJ to play music for a supposedly up-scale bar in Las Olas; then you're at the right place. If you're like every normal human being with the IQ slightly higher than a piece of broccoli then you'll realize how artificial and ridiculous this place is. Shitty music, shitty drinks, shitty people, and a plethora of napkins in the air to hype to the place over 20 mins. No thanks. Next time I'll take my money elsewhere.

I'm not really into straight bars lol but once in awhile I'd like to come and join my straight friends and there womanizing adventures lol. As i said earlier it is a great place, I really don't know there specials to be honest but I went on a Saturday and every saturday they give away free drinks about every hour I believe. The drinks are actually DRINKS they're not like 20% alcohol and the rest mixed drinks... so you're actually getting what you pay... Â The environment is a nice setting, the crowd is around 21 to about 30 I would say... also ladies... this is for you the men to women ratio is pretty slim to about the same.. so it really isn't a cockfest as they call it.
Recommend for anyone who wants to party somewhere else besides downtown miami :)
This place was only fun because we got in for free and the drinks were cheap and readily available. Â The bartenders were very attentive.
They were playing Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" and I Â was dancing and jammin' because MJ is the shit child molester or not- he is the motherfucking king! Â I got up on the bar and danced with some breezies then I jumped right off when they started to play Right Said Fred. Totally lame.
There were 50 year old men trying to get me to dance on the bar- fucking evil rapists. Â I wasn't really into the crowd at all.
Anyway, it is an alright place to go if you don't have to pay a cover. The DJ played something for everyone and there were two large television screens that were simultaneously playing the music videos. The Pyrex test tube vodka shots were pretty good. Â It was more of the Billboard top hits kind of shit playing... but eh.... I wasn't really into it.
It was a very diverse crowd in terms of age group, but I don't think I'll be rushing to come back there again
America's Back Yard. Â How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways:
One: The number of stars I am giving you.
Two: The number of bathrooms stalls i think this whole place has.
Three: The number of times every minute I wanted to murder my friend for dragging me there.
You get the point. Â Drinks are VERY weak and watered down. Â I had to ask to have it remade twice. Â It was hot, sticky and the line for the bathroom was unreal. Â The music was OK but not good enough to get me to come back.
I won tickets from Y100 to come here for a "St. Practice Day" festival and it was awesome. Although my friend and I were getting everything for free, they had several specials that wouldn't make a dent in your wallet. Since we're around St. Patricks day, they have $3 bud light green beer drafts and long tube shots for $3 also. Even the LITER mug for any domestic beer was $9! There were girls promoting for Absolute wild tea, and they were handing out free shot samples and the Budweiser girls were giving away free shirts! Too good to be true, but it's true for this St. Patricks day week so I suggest you GO NOW.
They had a live cover band playing typical Y100 music and everything altogether had a crazy-energized-ready to party atmosphere.
The only thing we paid the most money for was the parking. It was $10- $15 dollars for every lot around the venue. I don't know about any of the secret parking places around here, but if you wanna park farther for less, that's all on you.
As far as the downtown area goes, this is probably one of the better places to go as far as the crowd/atmosphere. Â They have $10 all-you-can-play beer pong on Thursdays, which essentially equates to all-you-can-drink beer. Â Unfortunately, they only serve Bud Select on these nights, which is by far the most disgusting beer in the existence of humanity. Â If you have not yet tried Bud Select, save yourself the pain and anguish and skip the experience. Â If, however, you are evolutionarily superior to 99% of the population and can actually stomach this vile concoction, check out ABY on a Thursday.
They have a lot of interesting events and specials, and I love their Wednesday ladies night. Â It can get pretty packed here after shows at Revolution, but weekends are hit or miss as far as how busy it will be. Â Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

But overall, it wins some star points because it's outdoors and it has a nice atmosphere. Also, the bouncers are cool and there is no cover (at least when I go). The drinks are decent and the crowd is slightly older than college students.
It's a very large venue and it gets packed so they must be doing something right!

I was going to give this place 3 stars but just remembered the awesome bouncer at the front door that let us skip the line and just walk in. Cool points for him!! So my 4th star goes directly to him!! :)
They have several bars throughout the place. The bartenders are really quick to get you your drinks. Our favorite would have to be the blue long islands ice teas in the pitchers with extra long straws but we settled with the mugs this time. Prices are very reasonable too.
Music is good and they play a variety. I love it that they incorporate Latin music!
I will definitely be back here again. Fort Lauderdale is always a good place to have a FUN night!
Another fun place in good old Fort Lauderdale.
Good crowd, good drinks, good music. Â They play just about everything you can dance to, hip-hop, salsa, pop, and more.
Drinks are big ... Â They have pitchers with these tall colorful straws - pretty - and some other big mugs, with handle - easy to carry while walking around the bar or dancing. Â Smart!
Bartenders are quick, and always cool. Â Plus, the few times we've been there, we end up making new 'friends' - this is one of those laid back, everyone there to have a good time type of place.
You'll see me there again.
The highlight of the bars in Riverfront in Ft. Lauderdale. If you know where to park in the area its pretty cheap, some lots are $1 an hour. They have a line sometimes but its always pretty short. Multiple bars here and an upstairs area makes it even better. There is a bunch of big television screens where they will play music videos or other clips during the night. The Dj's here are pretty bad though, every time I went they kept going on microphone and tried to get the crowd hype but It just got annoying, they just wanted attention and were not really interested in the music they were playing. The crowd here is pretty mixed though which is good.
Other highlights are they have the skanky shot girls, Hula hoops which encourage drunken college girls to get on the bar and sloppily try to hula hoop.
Also if you are in the military and have ID on a Friday night they will give you wrist band where you can get ANY mixed drink or beer for $3 (No Top Shelf) But compared to Miami prices on a Friday and for a night club this was an amazing deal.
I'm going to call this part one.... because I only visited the backyard of America's Backyard... I wanted to go upstairs and follow the awesome smell of whatever it was they were grilling but couldn't tear myself away from the free open bar and the more than fairly attractive bartender... and I was trying to peek into the inside of the bar but MTV was onsite casting for one their lame reality shows... since you know, they don't show music videos anymore.
It was a soggy evening because we had a good dose of rain earlier I think that had something to do with the fact that the bar took a while to get even remotely packed... I was with a good group so we just hung around watching the clock making sure we got as many drinks in before 11, I know... we're lushes... I digress...
The service was good and the atmosphere was light, maybe the Dolphins winning had something to do with that since it was playing on all available tv's. I will definately go back to try the food and see the rest of the place...
This place almost merits 3 different reviews - The average sadly comes out to be 2 stars - So I can safely say that no matter how many Useful, Cool or Funny it gets, this will never be the REVIEW OF THE DAY !!
Now for the real deal - 5 STARS solely because of the free drinks until 11 PM and from here on we begin removing stars - The parking is retarded !!! $ 10.00 Dollars, no matter where you park, so might as well park close, if you can find a spot.
We got in for free because it was my friend's birthday party so still supporting the 5 stars.
Until midnight or so, it is OK ... but as the night wears on, the crowd gets more stupid, probably has a lot to do with the cheap or free drinks and certainly a lot more dense. I mean you can't walk around the place, not even to get to the bathroom, or at least to the 20 minute line to get to the bathroom.
What's up with that - thousands of people and only a few bathroom stalls?? and for the ladies, it is even worse, the line can be up to 1 hour wait, no kidding.
The music is OK, but once again it just feels like you are in college in the middle of a spring break and the crowd is drunk and stupid.
So far we are down to 1 star - it only climbs back to 2 stars because there is an indoors bar as well and people seem to either not know about it or they prefer the mass of stupidity outdoors -
Anyhow, there is a pretty good live band inside playing some good ROCK music and best of all - there is no line to use the bathrooms.
Apparently the upstairs/indoor area doesn't open until later, but our whole experience changed once it did, because we went to the bar upstairs and had a blast !!! couches, game of Twister on the floor and easy access to the bathrooms- life got good-

Lets start from the beginning! Â Parking was terrible and expensive - $10. We got there early because the birthday party we were attending had open bar from 9 - 11 (sweet!!) but considering we got the LAST spot in the parking lot, it is terrible for anyone coming after 9:30 (and who parties early in SoFla) No one. Â Only us lushes going for the open bar.
There IS a cover! Â We didn't pay (again - birthday party), but for those who do have to pay you already have dropped $10 for parking and not one drink yet.
The setting is super cute, huge outdoor 'pool' for a bar, stands that sell ice cream, beer, hot dogs (i heard about the hot dog ones, never got close enough to see) big screens a DJ playing FUN music, oldies and new songs. Â
Ahhh the open bar. Â In the two hours we were at the bar I got two drinks. TWO! Thats IT! Why? The place is ginormous and they only have 2 bartenders tending there! By the way the chick was a b***ch. Â The guy just overwhelmed but she went out of her way to really be a b**ch. Â
The bathroom situation is RIDICULOUS! Â Only one bathroom available before 11PM in a place that can hold (I saw the sign) one THOUSAND people so the line was wretched. Â I was in tears, literally! Â It took 45 minutes to go to the bathroom.
Then the crowds started coming in droves. Â Drunk idiotic guys and what seemed like college girls, spring break anyone?? We were pushed so hard against each other we couldn't move. Â Someone had the brilliant idea to go to the indoor bar. Â Who knew there was another HUGE bar inside? Â It was EMPTY! Â Plus they had a great band playing. Â I felt bad for the band, because there was no one inside while the stupid drunken droves were outside. Â We went upstairs where we could hear the live band, there were sofas, and like Gustavo said .. twister.. much fun had by all at that point! Â Best part? Â The bathrooms. Â No wait.
All in all.... I don't think I will be back unless its on a weeknight.

I think the cover charge was to cover all the silly napkins they kept throwing in the air (Florida's equivalent of snow) and although it looked kinda cool, it really just made the floor filthy.
It's outside which is great on a hot night, but some women were covering little more than what a bikini would. Â Not really the classiest of places, but I guess... what should we have expected, from

Went there for a party on the upper level on Saturday night. Â It was a roped off, private party and it was a blast. Â The music was enjoyable as background-ish music. Â Service was really solid and it was cool.
I'd seen a bunch of concerts in that area before, but they did a great job of turning it into an great outdoor bar/club type area.
Would definitely return for just a night out.
Big place, lots of different areas to hang out, fun atmosphere... but I found it to be too much for a hot summer night. Â If you're in the mood to get sticky, sweaty and get drinks spilled on you... this is the place to be.
Also, if you're from Miami-Dade County, there's a cover... which is disappointing when everyone in your group is from Broward, and you're the only one paying. Â
The drinks are festive... and the music was good... with music videos playing on the screens everywhere-- and a cover band playing in one area. Â The tequila bar was also fun. Â

I really can't figure out how they serve food in this place but supposedly they have a full menu before the place becomes a dance club at night. If you wanna hear some hits and dance to various types of music then come here. The drinks are cheap which is great. The place itself is so big. There is a large round bar in the center and everyone just crowds around it. There is also a large stage which usually has a cover band of some kind. There is a big upstairs section as well but this was about the 4th bar I went to that night so I can't account for much.
