Best place to dance in the AVL. I go both Friday + Saturdays at least once or twice a month. Music is up-to date but they still play the classics. The DJs always play my requests. The bouncers arn't to ruff or jerks like other places in town. And the cover is half of what the other dance clubs seem to be charging.
Also worth mentioning is all drinks are half off on sundays.
Recommanded by a local!
I came here and at first was disappointed. I visited their Web site, and had high hopes, with fancy video-game themed drinks. Don't go to the Web site. Definitely don't look at the menu. The drinks don't exist, and I don't think they serve food at all.
They said they didn't exist. I was sad. I didn't know what to order. :*( I wrote a pretty mean "tip" that I should probably go delete.
But then I chilled out. It was Sunday night, and so much was closed, but they were there for us. And they had half price drinks! I had tons to drink, and I spent hardly anything. We left, had one drink (between the two of us elsewhere), and came promptly right back!
Long Island Iced Teas - Tokyo Tea (similar but with Midori), other fancy stuff that I don't remember... I drank them. And I spent like $20 or less on the first and second visit for two of us.
The place wasn't exactly kickin'. But it was a school night. It's a hipster town, but maybe Sunday is stil sacred? Upstairs is Club Tetris. I wished something was going on, but it was bare. :(
They have a Nintendo at the bar - yay! The old school guy that you grew up with. Super Mario Bros. is a lot harder after a few drinks than I remember. It's always nice to have two players. It's a nice ice breaker. They should have at least one at every bar. New rule. I just made it. Deal with it.
The place is littered with video games of the past. You'll have to go to a specialty arcade to play them otherwise, but you'll be elbow to shoulder with the little ones, and unlikely to have a decent drink, if one at all.
Unfortunately, many were in disrepair. Some buttons didn't work. Some just couldn't be played at all - the start button wouldn't work. For some reason, a lot of them already had credits. I didn't even spend the two dollars in quarters that I got from the bar.
All in all, we had a good ol' time on the cheap. I'll have a good ol' time again when I come back. But I have anxiety mixed with some OCD that doesn't do well when I expect one thing and get another... but now you've read my review and know what to expect. Yay for Yelp!
I want to say four stars, but I want to see the place in action. Next time in town, I'll cut out an evening to kick it in Club Tetris. But what to wear?........
This place is awesome! Â I was visiting from out of state and our bachelorette party happened to stumble into Arcade. Â The staff & manager were super accomodating and helpful to everyone in our group and we ended up having an amazing time. Â I wish there were more bars like Arcade in my hometown!
