Been to Grey Eagle 6-8 times for music.Have eaten there a couple of times.Went there last night to see Dehlia Low and there was a modest crowd, but a good show.
My concern was the food. No,not the food, the service.Sign said that the food was served during shows, but there was no one at the food counter.I asked the bartender if they were serving food and he casually said he would get the food guy.
Two guys came out of the back room.No smiles. No "I'm glad to see you.Glad you are here"
In fact,I don't remember them saying anything.I asked for a menu and the non skinny one simply pointed at the chalk board.I asked if they had a hamburger and, again,he pointed at the chalk board.
Order a pork kimchi bowl for $7 and it was decent/good.But ...but...boy,the the staff was worthless.
The food was great!! This is by far the best "bar food" I've had! The pulled pork tacos and the tempha wraps were the best. Their grilled cheese and special garlic spread is out of this world. We didn't stay for the concert, but got to listen to the band rehearse 1.5 hours before the show and what we heard was fantastic.
Review Source:We saw Scythian at the Grey Eagle (wish i could yelp about how great THEY are). This venue is awesome! They have a little patio to the side where you can hear the music, or just go during a break. Decent beers on tap, most of them local.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the parking. I had to park down the street a little, and felt unsafe. It's pretty dark.
