Best place to dance in the AVL. I go both Friday + Saturdays at least once or twice a month. Music is up-to date but they still play the classics. The DJs always play my requests. The bouncers arn't to ruff or jerks like other places in town. And the cover is half of what the other dance clubs seem to be charging.

Also worth mentioning is all drinks are half off on sundays.

    Recommanded by a local!

I came here and at first was disappointed. I visited their Web site, and had high hopes, with fancy video-game themed drinks. Don't go to the Web site. Definitely don't look at the menu. The drinks don't exist, and I don't think they serve food at all.

They said they didn't exist. I was sad. I didn't know what to order. :*( I wrote a pretty mean "tip" that I should probably go delete.

But then I chilled out. It was Sunday night, and so much was closed, but they were there for us. And they had half price drinks! I had tons to drink, and I spent hardly anything. We left, had one drink (between the two of us elsewhere), and came promptly right back!

Long Island Iced Teas - Tokyo Tea (similar but with Midori), other fancy stuff that I don't remember... I drank them. And I spent like $20 or less on the first and second visit for two of us.

The place wasn't exactly kickin'. But it was a school night. It's a hipster town, but maybe Sunday is stil sacred? Upstairs is Club Tetris. I wished something was going on, but it was bare. :(

They have a Nintendo at the bar - yay! The old school guy that you grew up with. Super Mario Bros. is a lot harder after a few drinks than I remember. It's always nice to have two players. It's a nice ice breaker. They should have at least one at every bar. New rule. I just made it. Deal with it.

The place is littered with video games of the past. You'll have to go to a specialty arcade to play them otherwise, but you'll be elbow to shoulder with the little ones, and unlikely to have a decent drink, if one at all.

Unfortunately, many were in disrepair. Some buttons didn't work. Some just couldn't be played at all - the start button wouldn't work. For some reason, a lot of them already had credits. I didn't even spend the two dollars in quarters that I got from the bar.

All in all, we had a good ol' time on the cheap. I'll have a good ol' time again when I come back. But I have anxiety mixed with some OCD that doesn't do well when I expect one thing and get another... but now you've read my review and know what to expect. Yay for Yelp!

I want to say four stars, but I want to see the place in action. Next time in town, I'll cut out an evening to kick it in Club Tetris. But what to wear?........

This place is awesome!  I was visiting from out of state and our bachelorette party happened to stumble into Arcade.  The staff & manager were super accomodating and helpful to everyone in our group and we ended up having an amazing time.  I wish there were more bars like Arcade in my hometown!

This place is okay, definitely been to a lot better bars. It feels kind of sloppy and messy in this place but they do play good music and the drinks are alright.

Great concept and I have been to many places like this, Blue Post in Wilmington is a great one....Just to name one off the top of my head....

They have older arcade games, pinball machines and those digger/claw machines that you can try and win prizes out of.

Unfortunately, this particular one is in need of some work or management.  While we were there machines were not working properly and it just wasn't a fun experience as it seemed like folks were hogging the machines that did work.

Busy place and numerous people there.  Earthy/Organic/Mountain types working there that doesn't seem to care if you are enjoying yourself or not.

If you are ever in Wilmington, try out Blue Post Billiards.  Great bar with games!

HOLY CRAP!!! Greatest Bar on the planet. I didn't know 25 cent games still exsisted. This was gamer heaven. The bone yard of Arcade games. It got 4 stars because when i wanted to play games, I didn't have anywhere to put my delicious tequila and sprite!! Get more tables!

This place is awesome, awesome, awesome! I totally dug the super retro feel of the place. I was visiting my friend and he invited me out to go to trivia night here. It is super fun and fabulous and everyone makes you feel super welcome!

Trivia night here starts at 9pm on Thursdays and our party of six met up to begin this glorious night of the most random categories ever. First things first though a pitcher of nice beer was ordered for $10, man that's cheap. The trivia is divided into categories with different theme shows such as Family Feud, The Price is Right, Name That Tune, and others with a bit of a naughty twist! By the end of the night guessing the color of my underwear had turned into the bonus round for an extra five points as decided by the mighty birthday girls and guy. I feel special that everyone wanted to see my undies. We had a fabulous time and it was a fairly close race, with us being in the lead at the halftime and ending up in second place which won us pizza for next time!

Cheers to you Arcade for showing me one of the funnest nights I've had in a while, and I got to meet so many cool new people!

Dear God, I love this place.

After having seen enough of the standard AVL bluegrass jam band scene in most of the bars on most weekend nights, it was such cathartic release to be in the middle of a sweaty dance party. It was so good to see actual diversity--not just the typical swath of scenester hippy folk this town is so full of (not that I'm hating, but I've sincerely missed urban racial integration since having left a bigger city). It was so good to hear not one but TWO DJs (one on each floor) spinning innovative mixes that were not 100% Top 40 countdowns. (Thanks again for honoring my Weezy request, by the way.)

Yes, you may have to wait in a line for a drink. But they're reasonably priced & potent. Yes, the bar staff is hot hipster elite. But they're not pretentious ass-holes, & they are attentive to their patrons. Yes, The Arcade can be chaos. It's exactly why you need to go. See you on the dance floor, bitches.

One the best spots we hit on our honeymoon. Cheap drinks and we had loads of fun.

Man, I wanted to love this place-- it's such a great concept. Old school arcade games like Space Invaders, Arnold Schwarzenegger pinball machines, plus live music and drinks should be a hit, but it's a miss in my book.

First off, we were there on a claw-game machine mission.  The 3 of us wanted to win some prizes, since we had a bet going on over who could claw the most stuffed animals.  This machine was bursting with an awesome toy selection.  Mario figurines, Domo-Kun plush toys, even multiple beavers.  Unfortunately, the machine was out of order.  When I asked if it would be fixed at some point, all I got was some inaudible grunts from the manager on duty.

No biggie, we went upstairs to play Skee-Ball.  The machines don't register your score correctly!! One gave us 10 more points than the hole was worth, another gave us too few points, and the third, was just right.  Goodness, I sound like that children's book the Three Little Bears!  (Is that what it's called?)

The other video machines would either eat our money, or weren't working at all.

Someone needs to get some maintenance in this place...fast!

Dissapointing, the concept has so much potential.
My husband and I went here with a couple of friends for a few pre dinner drinks and apps followed by fun game time for his birthday. It was about 4 pm on a Saturday. There were only a handful of people in the place but the uber hipster staff still managed to make you feel like they were doing you a favor by acknowledging your presence.

Over half of the games were not working, I hoped that they were just turned off for down hours, but no they "have a guy who hasn't been by" per wait staff. To their credit they did find us and offer at game drink service, once.

The biggest problem was that the upstairs game area was nauseatingly hot when we arrived, I asked about it at the bar leading them to actually turn on the ac and noting that it was 89 degrees.

Pluses were  the pinball machines, the xbox connect dance game (free) and classic nintendo at the bar (also free). The skee ball machines worked but lose their charm without prizes or tickets. We thought the old school game themed drink menu was cute and as expected the drinks tasted like candy. No food was available for some unknown and unexplained reason, so we left early and went for dinner.

I really wanted to like this place. The murals and art by a local artist are worth seeing on their own.  We might try it again in a few months on a different night.

Haven't been here yet. But this looks like a place that is more of a REAL arcade and has people taking care of the games. Beat that, Dave & Buster's!!!!

Tons of old arcade games and Nintendos at the bar.  Good appetizers, good bartenders.  I think they also have xbox dance revolution.  Good place to go for an interactive night out.

OK. I'm the (original) target demographic for this place. I was a pre-teen (we didn't have "tweens" back then) when Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-man, and (holy crap!) Joust were in the arcades.

The original arcade "feeling" is here -- although I doubt intentionally -- in that it is dark, dank, and stressful.

But you can buy a Gaelic Ale on tap, so that's cool.

And being able to supply your kids (and their friends) with limitless quarters is a feeling I never experienced as a kid.

Nostalgic value alone has carried me and the boy through a few visits. If you've never been, make it a night visit and have some of their reasonable food and decent drinks. If you live in town, it's a fun hour or two with the kids.

Definitely get your kids to play Robotron, though. Today's console games don't come close to the adrenaline-releasing power of this standup. Also? Defender.

This place is awesome and very unique. What used to be Joli Rouge is now 2 floors of drinking, laid back locals and tons of old video games. Burger time, street fighter, galaga, skee ball and old pinball machines. This place has it all, even projection screens set up for playing Wii and Xbox. They have that new Xbox dancing game and it way entertaining to watch people dance it out upstairs.

The drink special on Sunday night is completely insane. Everything was half off...so high balls were only $2.25 a piece. The drinks weren't strong but who cares, it's still an amazing deal. We bought like 23 drinks for 7 bucks...okay so that's not accurate but you get my point. It's cheap as balls.

    Nice large outdoor patio too!

This is the type of bar I'd envision in the suburbs, not a place like Asheville.  Prices were reasonable, and the games were kind of fun.  Although, really, I can't say it added that much to the experience to have the quantity of games that they did.  Any bar with a few skeeball machines and some pinball would be 90% as fun.

The worst thing is that generally you can escape terrible music at a bar by stepping outside for a smoke, but his place actually had the speakers facing outside, so it was louder outside than in.

Not my scene.  I find it hard to believe it's the scene of most people that live in Asheville, either, but who knows.
