This might be considered fast food but the word fast applies here very loosely. Â It took about ten minutes for them to make a Philly steak sandwich and a lemonade.
The lemonades are basically slushies and the Philly steaks won't win any Philly steak awards but they are enjoyable.
I wouldn't go out of the way to come here but if you're down by McCormick place and don't feel like going to China Town, you should enjoy it.
There are no seats in Baba's, and no counter either, so be prepared to take your food to go. But inside that take-out carton will be one fantastic meal. If you're a fan of greasy food stands, this place is for you. The "famous steak" is a Philly cheesesteak covered in cheese, peppers, mushrooms and some seasoning salt. It's just juicy enough and the bun holds up well. They also offer cheesesteaks with chicken and maybe turkey. They will cover your fries in the seasoning of your choice. They also offer the predictable gyros, hamburgers, etc.
The food is good, but the real star here is the "lemonade." It's a slushy concoction that comes in several flavors - strawberry, grape, watermelon, pina colada, pineapple, fruit punch, orange, cherry and green apple (maybe a few others, too). It comes topped with a watermelon or orange wedge and a maraschino cherry and there's a huge chunk of lemon in the cup. It far surpasses any lemonade I've had before - the combo of slush and fruit flavor with the tang of lemonade is fantastic.
