I think that I'll jump on the band wagon and give my two cents!

I speak for both the Theatre Side and the Grill side with the following:

    Positives:
    *Great customer service
    *Excellent Food
    *Wide Food Selection
    *Decent Prices

    Negatives:
*Long wait times to order food and especially drinks on the Theater side
*Horrible Parking Options (watch yourself, you'll get towed!)

I knocked a star for the negatives but if you show up (super) early problem solved! I just don't have time for that so I order out.

I'm staying in Anchorage for work by myself for 2 1/2 weeks. I barely have any time off, so after work one night I had just enough time to catch a movie at Bear Tooth Theater Pub. I went to see The Big Lebowski (of course), and was a little sad to see the line out the door. I was starving too. I waited in line and ended up being pretty much blown away by the end.

    1. Only $3.50 for a movie!??!? I did a double take.
    2. The food was soo good, and they bring it to you in the theater!
    3. Great beer, and many different sizes. You can get a big one or a pitcher so you don't have to get up during the movie. They also had white russians to go with the theme.
    4. The whole experience was awesome. No one ruined the movie, everyone made it better! The crowd was in costume, cheering, laughing, clapping. I have never had such a fun time in a movie, and I was by myself!!

I can't wait to go back before I leave Alaska!!!

The salmon was very good. But be warned they don't serve pizza in the restaurant.

Standard order for our table is chicken nachos and Santas Little Helper.  Just don't ask me to chose which one between the two, although I have to admit that Santa's Little Helper may lead just slightly.  Admittedly, I have not eaten at this place every time I am in town, but when I do, the family and I can seriously eat the hell out of nachos and pizza.

Great food, good service and some damn good beer.  If you are going to catch a second run movie there is no better place then this.

Hint: go early reserve a booth then you won't have to wait in line, you can jsut go in and sit down and get your food.

Three of us were blessed with good fortune at 6:30 pm.  Immediately found good parking on the street, we were immediately seated at a table, and had our pitcher of beer, large pizza, and breadsticks ordered within 15 minutes.  The dining area was full, but not real noisy.  We had a good time and enjoyed a very good meal.  I was told that Bear Tooth does not get quite as busy as the Moose's Tooth; but, it looked pretty darned busy to me.  Both of these pizza restaurants have great tasting pizzas.

Went Sunday for Lunch. Ordered Chicken quesadilla and their chicken ricebowl. Not bad. Wasn't happy with the hair on my quesadilla, but it happens and didn't care telling the server. Later that day though and the next. I got sick and the dookie squirts.......

Their burgers are awesome, I also LOVE the seasoned fries. Another long line, but I guess I have to wait for quality. :-)

The fish tacos were yummy but the sangria was off.  Had to ask for another drink, which the server was glad to do (she actually tasted it and said it was off!)

I have had two experiences here, one in the Theatre where they bring your order to you, and the other on the Grill side- both times I had delicious food! I thought the fish tacos at the theater were tasty and just filling enough. The Bahn Mi Burger I had at the Grill was the best burger I have had in Anchorage so far. The patty was thick and juicy, homemade bun, spicy slaw - the bomb! The garlic cilantro fries were yummy too. This is a solid place to go and get a good meal - just get there before 6pm cuz it gets really busy!

GREAT food. Awesome craft beers. Sold choice in movies shown. Service and environment always friendly. Parking tough at times, but experience is worth it!

Caught a cab to the Bear Tooth Grill after arriving by train from Fairbanks 1/20/2013. This was my second stop there, the first being 3/2011.

The place was busy so I grabbed a spot at the bar, but they found a booth for me so I could relax after a 12-hour train trip and before a long flight. Had a half-order of the nachos (very good) and a delicious personal-sized chocolate mousse dessert. Perfect portions for a snack-type meal prior to flying.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful; it was a great place to hang out for awhile prior to heading for the airport. Maybe one day I'll get back with time to have dinner in the theater; couldn't manage it this trip, but still had a very enjoyable time. Definitely recommend!

Bear Tooth has the best breadsticks in town!  I'm not a fan of their ranch dipping sauce as it resembles the taste of blue cheese - blech, but their house sauce is quite delicious!  I also ordered a personal plate of the nachos with ground beef, which was more than enough for two people.  They were quite tasty with fresh jalapenos and just the right amount of melted cheese and vegetables.  Yum!

I was told repeatedly, "before you leave Alaska, you need to go to Beartooth"
So alas...mere hours before my flight, my hosts and I made our way to a jampacked Beartooth. Soooo glad to have experienced this place. Extensive menu...it was hard to decide on just one item. Luckily as a group, we could substitute any meats listed for tofu, and share each items. Burritos packed with flavours... and for the pizza we could split into two specialties, offering best of both worlds.
Make this a stop on your way in/around Anchorage.

The food was great! I believe this is owned by the same people as Moose's Tooth... Possibly as some of the wait staff was wearing Moose's tooth shirts. The fish tacos were great with the garlic cilantro fries. My hubby had the salmon which he thoroughly enjoyed. The beer is great as well. Also the same beers from Moose's  Tooth.  The service was not as good as the Moose's tooth. The waitstaff was chatting in a cluster rather than taking our order or checking on us... food good, service was questionable....

I can't believe it has taken me a so long to go here, but I finally did. Its hard to rate adequately because overall it gets a 5 star for its uniqueness and successful juxtaposition of food, and entertainment: movies, concerts, etc. However, I thought the pizza totally sucked. I was shocked because I really like Moose's Tooth pizza. My friend and I ordered a large Classic from the Pub for the movie, and it was doughy, way undercooked (I mean way!) floppy soggy, bland, and just all out hugely dissappointing. I would have loved to have sent it back for another 5 mintues in the oven. And oh, by the way, needs lots of salt, or something.

The other huge disappointment was just getting a beer before the theater doors opened. I had to go to the grill, not knowing I could have got a beer in the theatre, I even asked the person at the food counter in the theatre If I could get a beer in there and they said "No", Really, they said "no, there is no server in there and that I have to get it at the Grill" Maybe must mayabe, she thought, right now, but the doors were closed, so obviously I couldn't go in there NOW and get a beer.. Wow. So I went to the grill to get our beers just before the theatre opened.

At the Grill waiting for my beers, standing at the bar looking dumb, realizing I was in the wrong spot for to go orders, I quickly figured it out and had two people ahead of me. My god, I stood there for what seemed like forever, not just waiting for the two people ahead of me, but me too.

And then, even funnier, I put my money on the table as soon as the beers landed, a twenty, for a $10 order, I had to wait and excruciatingly long time for change, the bartender didn't even pick up my money, it was right there, she watched me get it out. She looked at it and walked about, and made someone else a drink. I saw her take a straw she used to stir the drink she made, lick it, and put it back in the drink. I KID YOU NOT!!

So I'm standing there, with two beers, waiting for the damn bartender to do something with my money. No, I am not giving you a 10 dollar tip, for a 10 dollar order. AT this point, I'm thinking stiff, but no I had some heart, and left a buck. More than she deserved for handling the whole affair.

Finally, into the theatre with two beers, and guess what, yep, the theatre has a bar, with beer !!!

The second I walk in there with my beer the bartender yells at me, saying that I can't go in there with glasses, that I need plastic cups. OMG, I really can't believe the disfunction of this place. Luckily, I did not have to wait in the huge long line that had already built up in the theatre to transfer my beer to plastic. Chalk a LOT up to learning, I know I was a bit ignorant, and I'll KNow better next time, buy I am quite appalled at the total lack of competence, and professionalism in the service aspects. So, Yeah, I'll definitely go again, but sheesh. I'll hide my own beer in my coat, and order a taco or burrito. They definitely need to deliver beers faster to the theater crowd. People were still standing in line while the movie was going.

I have been going here for years.  My favorite thing to get is the blue cheese salad and the strawberry banana smoothie! It is the best! The pizza is a hit or miss sometimes but overall good food.

I love this place! I love the idea of watching a movie and having your food brought out to you! You order before going into the movie and they give you a numbered cone. Once the movie is going they bring out your food. I have had their sandwiches and they are good. They are known for the Pizza, I got the Santa's Little Helper and it was an awesome pizza!

Place was packed on a Tuesday!

    Good Beer!
Habanero Chicken Skewers were over cooked, sent back.  Came back still hard, could only eat 2.  Shared one with a bartop neighbor and same, thought it was too tough.
Blackened Fish Tacos were great!!! The flavor, flakiness, and the FRIES!  Incredible.
Service was good, not great.  One bartender was really on top of things.  She hustled fast, knew the most and commanded the whole area.  The other two "helpers" were okay.  They could have had my skewers comped or something.

The ambience is fair. I was hoping that the Moose's Tooth decor would carry over.  I think the people that designed this place used to design cheap cafes or diners.  The section in front of the kitchen looks so silly for a joint with this much vibe.

Need bigger bar areas...like Glacier Brewery.

$3 movie tickets. Only $3!!! How could you not pass this up. Obviously, they make their money on the food and drinks, but still, only $3!
Went with a couple of friends and got there a little late. Bad move on our part. There were no seats together so we had to sit on the barstools in the very back row. I usually get easily distracted during movies by little sounds, people talking, moving aroud, eating popcorn, blah, blah. However, I knew this wasn't going to be a full movie experience so I wasnt too concerned about the servers rushing past us every few minutes to deliver someone's food. It still amazes me that they can get people's food to them without using lights to find them. For those that don't know, every seat in the theater has a table in front of it for eating and drinking. (Another reason I knew I had to let go of my frustrations due to distractions.) Besides getting there early for a seat I also recommend getting there early to order your food. We didn't receive our food until more than an hour through the film.
After going to the Moose's Tooth I was excited to have another chance to order the Avalanche pizza! It didn't disappoint!

"Down hill" isn't just an alpine skiing term.  A once decent restaurant now, apparently,  circling the bowl...as perhaps accountants have usurped quality and customer service?  If your perfect evening includes long lines, overpriced pizza, palatable beer,  and a movie stick to the theater side.  No real disappointment there.  However, if you're in the mood for a quality meal move along.

The Bear Tooth grill has managed to incorporate the long wait for orders with a serving bordering on shelf-life expiration (how they managed a soaking wet bun on a most assuredly dry blackened cod sandwich is anyone's' guess).  You might think a server would ask why only a bite was taken from an entree.  Had she bothered,  I might have mentioned the wringing wet run-of-the-mill  hamburger bun, cool dry"Alaskan" cod, bland tzatziki sauce, factory processed oil-soaked onion rings...for a $1 premium no less...and don't get me started on the wife-unit's Bahn Mi Burger.

Though not as bad it certainly was nothing to rave about...in truth Micky D's or the BK  Lounge would have been a better choice.  The accompanying "garlic-cilantro" fries were in effect garlic oil over-spritzed fries with at least five tasteless green flecks.

On the plus side:  Water, with the real lemon slices we requested, was refreshing and the attendant kept our glasses full.  The beer did not disappoint...but not in sufficient quantity to erase this poor dining experience.

Contrasting:  At the Moose,  a  wait, no matter how busy, has always been worth it.  Quality has, in this diner's multiple experiences, never been sacrificed...regardless of the crowd.   Not so at the Bear.

I just ate on the grill side, the fresh kale salad - will blow your mind.  I had their special sonoran shrimp enchiladas - very, very well done.  Tequila menu is outta site - wish I could have tried them all(and not woken up with strange tattoos), but I was driving so I didn't get to over indulge as much as I wanted.
I appreciated this place even more than their sister restaraunt - the Moose's Tooth.
If you haven't been yet, make the trip from wherever you are staying in Anchorage and try this out.  Best meal yet on my trip here!

I love the BTP&G. Not only is is awesome to have a place that serves brunch 7 days a week!!!! But their drinks and food....ALWAYS DELISH! The El Cielo Margarita is amazing. And so is there Basil Crush - and seriously alllll of their food is great. If you like avocados - get the avocado and tomato corn salad. If you like burritos get one!

    I love Bear Tooth!

This quirky dinner theatre allows you to order delicious food before your movie and have it delivered right to your seat.  Also, there is a beer/wine bar inside the theatre, how can you beat that!

For those who prefer not to see a movie, there is a separate dining area as well as the "Grill" side which served a completely different, more upscale menu.

The movies are cheap too, never more than $5

Its also one of the best places to see a concert in Anchorage, and books some decent acts from all over, which is great because a good music scene is one of the many areas in which Anchorage is lacking.

Our family loves Bear Tooth.  It's the only movie/eating place in Anchorage.  It has all the great Moose's tooth pizzas as well as burritos etc.  And, it's a plus that you can get a beer or glass of wine while you watch a good movie.  If you are going on Monday night, get there early as it fills up quickly.

Theater Pubs are the only type of cinemas I go out of my way to watch a film at.

    Why?

:::  My Reasons:  The Short List  :::
    1)  Over 21*
    2)  Libations
    3)  Decent Food

    * This theater actually does have an under-21 section for the kiddos though.

And now for the Bear Tooth I was surprised to see how hustling and bustling the joint was!  It was hard to find parking out front (well, just park on the side...NOT across the street because you WILL get towed).

The Bear Tooth is not ONLY a theater, but also has its own restaurant (it was packed and I believe I saw people going here JUST for the restaurant).  There is also a store inside which sells Bear Tooth paraphernalia.

But the Theater Pub is where it's at.  Of all the theater pubs I've been to, this theater has the BEST food---hands down.  From pizza to burritos, you are going to find flavors you won't find anywhere else.  The food definitely feels like "real" food (nothing frozen or from a box).  And they have tons of cool options to choose from.

At this theater, after you buy your ticket, head to the food counter.  Check out the formidable menu and then make your order.  (They'll bring it to you in the theater.)

Once in the theater, find a spot to sit, and then get ready for your next mission:  Drink.

In the back corner of the theater you will find a bar!  This was a first for me.  Back here you can order some wine, or choose from a plethora of good beers on tap.  Broken Tooth Brewing is connected with the theater, so many of their beers are on tap.  You can even order a sampler---but you are limited to how many glasses you can carry (coreyg, yours truly, managed four glasses, btw.  Yeah, I have big hands ladies.)

    Food:::CHECK
    Beer:::CHECK

Now you are ready to watch a movie in the lap of luxury.  One thing I really liked about this theater was their film selections.  They had some mainstream stuff on schedule, but what really got me going were the independent/foreign films they had on tap.  I just know that if I lived in Anchorage, the Bear Tooth would be my second home.

If you are ever up north, do stop by, and tell them Corey sent ya.

The theater is an excellent place to watch a movie and eat a good meal at the same time.
The restraunt is one of my favorites because of the late hours. I wish they had a broader menu as I am not into the sundried tomato and cilantro type foods, I prefer more plain foods and condiments.
The staff is always friendly, without fail.
The drinks are very well made.

Bear Tooth Theater Pub and Grill is definitely one of the highlights of Anchorage.    There are two sides to the restaurant -- the theater side and the "restaurant side."

The theater side has a small cafe where you can order food (I believe its similar to the food offered  in the restaurant but the food is cheaper).   I've ordered pizza from here to go (the menu is nearly identical to the pizza offered at the sister restaurant Moose's Tooth), but it didn't taste as good as the pizza at Moose's Tooth.

The movie theater is very comfortable -- food and drink are available for purchase.     Having the option to purchase adult beverages at a theater?   Very cool.....

The food on the restaurant side is great -- I think the main courses are a little on the pricey side ($15 to $30) -- for this reason I typically opt for wine and apps.    My favorites include the habanero chicken skewers -- awesome!

All in all, a solid option for dining in Anchorage.  Recommended.

    LOVE this place.
This is our go to place for good food, well made drinks, cheap movies if the mood strikes you, or even take out.
My favorite part about bear tooth is the consistency of the food, so delicious and the same level of tasty every time. They are always on it, and the servers are attentive and friendly.  The drinks are not pre-made gross stuff, but made there when ordered. Not to mention this place really pulls anchorage together with the 1st taps and concerts they hold in the theater.

Really, I could go on and on about how much I love having this place around, especially since I live so close, but I have been going here for years and needed to finally post a review.
    So thanks B.tooth!

This may as well be called "my second kitchen" since we eat here so much (and get takeout regularly).

Bear Tooth is something Anchorage lacks, which is a good restaurant catering to a number of tastes. If I'm feeling like more "entree-style dining," the Grill usually satisfies my needs. In fact, the Grill and the Theater Pub are so different I'm going to give a rundown of each.

    GRILL:
The nicer, sit-down dining portion of Bear Tooth. You can order food to-go, however the Grill is composed of many entrees that taste better when you eat them in house. The dinner menu is weighted heavily towards Southwestern/ Mexican food, which is probably my main gripe. I mean this with love, but it is certainly gringo Mexican food. There are only a few items from the Mexican category that I like at Bear Tooth, and thus I have less desirable options at dinner. Lunch may be the standout.

Nevertheless, I've eaten my way around this menu. Below are the grades:

Garlic Cilantro Fries: A+ (so good they should be outlawed)
Habanero Chicken Skewers: A+ (crunchy outside, moist inside, delish)
Buiscuts and Gravy: A (brunch only)
    Fresh Jalapeno Poppers: A
Mexican Corn (special veggie side dish): A
    Guacamole and Chips: A-
Peanut Noodles with Tofu and Veggies: A- (available vegan)
    Lamb Skewer: A-
    Mushroom and Chicken Fettuccine: A-
Pork Tenderloin with Mac and Cheese: A- (B+ for the pork, A for the mac)
Potato Burrito: B+ (delicious in a sinful way, but gets too heavy)
Pork Colorado Tacos: B+ (colorado sauce is good, pork can be dry)
Harissa Pork Chop with Kale and Farro (special): B (kale A-)
    El Oso Salad: B
    Chile Rellenos: B
Blackened Scallops: B- (have not been seared well every time I've ordered)
    Shrimp Tostadas: C (lacking flavor)
Tri-Salsa Plate: C (lacking substance, portion is small)
Avocado Tomato Salad: C (underwhelming, could use some ingenuity)
    Anaheim Turkey Club: C
Breakfast Burrito: D (never again, tasted like spicy baby food in a tortilla)

    THEATER PUB:
The Theater Pub must have been the brainchild of an extremely wise owner who said, "Okay world, I will give you a second Moose's Tooth, but not call it Moose's Tooth, so we can have all the tourists convene in one location and not spoil the second one."

    Thank you, wise owner.

In truth, the Theater Pub is almost indistinguishable from Moose's Tooth, except you're on the theater side of Bear Tooth, which seriously lacks the Moose's Tooth charm. Other than that and a few sparing menu items, I can close my eyes and taste Moose's Tooth Perfection.

As before, below is the breakdown:

Mozzarella Breadsticks: A+ (and on the second day, God created these)
    The Classic Pizza: A
Pizza, in general: A (need to order a medium to get the full effect)
    Chipotle Steak Pizza: A
    Homemade Root Beer: A
Chocolate Chip Cookie a la Mode: A-
    Hot Turkey Sandwich: A-
Caesar Salad: B+ (good dressing, but that's all)
    Barbecue Chicken Pizza: B
    Apple Walnut Salad: C
Blue Cheese Salad: C (half the grapes are usually mushy)
ALL burritos: C (tortillas are cold, taste is underwhelming no matter the combo)
Tostada Salad: D (looks like the Mexican prep counter spilled in a plate)
Breadsticks: D (such a vast difference between these and the mozzarella ones)

***If you are startled by the breadth of my grade list, note the second sentence of my review. I wasn't kidding about the whole "second kitchen" thing.

Overall, Bear Tooth holds a special place in my heart and my cell phone speed dial. It's a local favorite for a reason. And the events are great too.

Very cool setup to this joint.

Discounted movies, a plethora of tasty pizza combinations and a cozy theater make for an enjoyable night out, especially when washed down with a couple of locally brewed pitchers available at the bar in the theater.

The restaurant side is also a cool setup with pretty good eats and tasty libations. Unfortunately, the service has been pretty lousy every time outside of the theater side of the operation, but it's not unexpected given the general low-key vibe of the establishment.

If you're in need some tasty pub grub, a growler refill and/or a second run movie, this is the place for you.

We decided to eat here at the movie theater side.  This place was not busy at the time and a was a bit dirty. This place is one of the movie theaters where you can order field and and watch a movie.  Not movie was showing which explains why the place was not busy.

We ordered our pizza and when it came out it was average.  The food may be ok while watching a movie but not the choice to have lunch or dinner at.

Who knew Bear tooth Grill would have a kickin' brunch menu to start the day off right? Came here for Sunday breakfast around 11.30AM and got sat a booth right away, which feels like winning the lottery even though it was relatively early in the day.

I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak that came topped with 2 eggs all smothered with a rich country gravy , and a side of breakfast potatoes, ($13). My friend ordered the BT Benny which is 2 eggs, thinly sliced ham, on 2 wheat english muffins, all covered with a chipoltle hollandaise, and a side of breakfast potatoes. ($12). I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of ingrediants on these traditional breakfasts; you could tell the oil used to fry the steak was top shelf, as was the breaded coating. I felt like I ate like an obese the healthy way.

Service was great and so was the food and prices. I'll be back for brunch another time.

The Bear Tooth Theatre Pub and Grill should really be broken down into two businesses since they are two separate entities.

    First, the Theatre Pub

Five stars! I mean, there is a bar in the movie theatre! So all you have to do is walk to the back to refill your pint or pitchers, not missing any of the movie/ show! They also bring your food to you in the theatre so you can enjoy your gourmet pizza/ salad/ whatever you're into. And did I mention that movies are only $3.50? They are second run, but who cares? If you want a good seat get there about 30+ minutes before the show because lines can wrap around the building.

All the pizza is great, but avoid the Chicken Bomber Burrito. It is bland and just kind of sucks.

    Secondly, the Grill

I'm torn. I'm giving it a solid three stars.

The grill has great service and for the most part the food is good. But it is expensive! I've also seen some reviews where people complain about how the bartenders measure drinks. I personally like it this way. I know that my drinks at the Bear Tooth Bar are always going to be good and taste the same no matter who is pouring them.

Really good- the Oso salad and goat cheese crostini

Really bad - the tuna tostadas. I keep forgetting how bland and boring they are and order them once every couple years only to find that nothing has changed. What a pity, especially with the high price tag!

The beer for all Mooses Tooth/ Bear Tooth is brewed in their local brewery here in Anchorage and it is really good! I personally love their Apple Ale (not nearly as sweet as an apple cider) and Heffeweisen. My boyfriend loves their Moonflower ESB, Prince William Porter and Pipeline Stout. It's also worth sampling their monthly special on tap.
