I was traveling home through Indiana and stopped at FFF.  I found FFF annoying,so we went to check out Beer Geeks pub.  4pm sunday afternoon, only a few people in the bar.  It was easy to get a seat at the bar and chat with the bartender.  The bar is dark; black tables, black chairs, black bar, black vinyl bar stools.  But there is  a nice mural all the way around the room of famous folks from history (real and imagined)  enjoying brew.  This mural really brightens the room,
Another thing that brightens the room is 20 tappers of craft beer. Â The menu has 20 meads and ciders as well, which my girlfriend will often prefer over ale. Â The other folks at the bar are friendly and it is an easy place to get the BS going. Â The woman bartender is chatty too, so the place seems very comfortable. Â She has Reefer Madness on the screen.
This place was a wonderful stop after the disappointment at FFF.
I would have never believed that there would be such a cool beer bar in Highland Indiana. Lots of tap handles that are always rotating with hard to find brews. They do not serve food, but they let you bring in your own. There is a taqueria and pizza place nextdoor so food is not far away. I like the feel of the place too. No windows and very dim lighting. If you are in northwest Indiana and want to grab a good craft brew, beer geeks is worth the stop.
