On this occassion I was celebrating my birthday. If you join their email club you get a $30 voucher as well as ice cream on your birth month. We were also celebrating my son's birthday so he got a nice ceramic buddha mug and ice cream. The only issue was that I did not make reservations and we waited a very long time and with 2 little ones that was a bad thing. We were one of the last 3 groups to be sat and the whole place was really hot for some reason. I kept my cool and enjoyed margaritas while entertaining the birthday boy. Every dish I order I enjoy but I love the noodles with chicken. My bf always orders steak or shrimp. Dinner was amazing and at the end they sang happy birthday to my son and I which made the whole evening special. I will definitely be back except next time I will make a reservation.

Really enjoy Benihana, but the chef I got the time I went was sloppy and was tight with his portions. What made it worse I sat next to some annoying people. I personally like the Encino location more.

I received the infamous $30 birthday coupon. After trying to go on my actual birthday and not getting a reservation (word of the wise: make sure you make a reservation well in advance!) my boyfriend and I decided to go to PF Changs.

Since it was coming to the end of the month, I still wanted to use my coupon. I did it right this time, made a reservation, came on time, and expected to be somewhat blown away.

Even with the reservation, our wait was over a half hour. We sincerely thought about ditching the entire experience and going to PF Changs again (omg free cake on your birthday!) but when we asked if we had to wait much longer, the host said that we could be seated. Finally!

As we sat down, we over heard the other people at our table having to wait an hour or more to be seated, we had it easy! But then again, it's a popular restaurant and a somewhat unique dining experience, if you don't eat at Japanese steak houses every day.

The food was really great and our chef was friendly and put on a fun show. I had the shrimp and chicken combination but immediately regretted not ordering the lobster. It looked absolutely fantastic. If I could rate based on the food, I would give the place 4 stars. The food is great, albiet pricey, but great!

The problem we had was with the service. After we had just received our food, the server came by with boxes and began to box everyone's meals up. It was incredibly rushed. Also, when it came to paying, they provided me with the bill and I had tried to return it with my coupon. I had never received such an icy death stare in my life! This was followed with a "oh.. I have to run your bill again." I had mentioned the coupon in my reservation, and was so surprised at the reaction.

To sum up: Great food! Make a reservation but expect to wait a half hour or more. Tell your server about your coupon or otherwise face the wrath!

I've been wanting teppanyaki style Japanese food for a long time, and I figured Benihana would be a good choice. They're not necessarily the most daring or adventurous in terms of flavor, but Restaurant Row is at least a safe choice for good food. Right?

I went here with a group of friends on a weeknight. Benihana is a smaller restaurant, so make sure you make reservations, even for a weeknight. The menu features a variety of meats as part of the teppan menu, as well as sushi options. Their combination options were the most intriguing, and I knew I wanted steak and lobster.

I was trying to decide between the Benihana Special, with hibachi steak and lobster, and the Hibachi Supreme, with chateaubriand and lobster. (Note that the menu at this location had a different description from the menu on their website). I asked our server what is chateaubriand and how is it different from the hibachi steak. She said she has no idea and couldn't even tell me what kind of cut they use for the hibachi steak. Unacceptable. I expect cluelessness from Denny's servers, not from a server at a restaurant on Restaurant Row. I decided on the Hibachi Supreme and fried rice.

There's a good selection of hard and soft drinks, featuring a good variety of Japanese favorites. Fellow camels rejoice, they have free refills on lemonade and sodas. Don't let your image of delicious lemonade cloud your judgment - their strawberry lemonade was terrible.

Our chef was on his game and gave a great performance. Unfortunately, as great as the spectacle is, the food still needs to be prepared well. It wasn't.

    Chicken Fried Rice
Teppanyaki fried rice is one of my favorite things ever. Benihana's fried rice is as tasty as people say, but the chef was a little heavy handed with the oil. What a shame.

Sides: Hibachi vegetables, shrimp, salad, miso soup
These were all as good as they needed to be. I personally prefer to choose between soup or salad and for fried rice to be included instead.

    Chateaubriand and Lobster
Chateaubriand is a center cut, while the hibachi steak is new york strip. Had my server answered my earlier question, I would have gone with the cheaper Benihana special. The steak was incredibly tender and flavorful, but the fat on one of the pieces was raw, and that hurt my stomach. The lobster was mostly good, with the biggest pieces having an incredible buttery flavor.

Service was terrible throughout the experience. In addition to not knowing the menu, our server was not fully paying attention when taking our order. She didn't check on us nearly enough during the meal, leading to some fairly extended periods of empty cups. I'd be more understanding if it weren't for the fact that Benihana's servers have only slightly more responsibility than buffet servers.

2.25 stars. What a shame. I absolutely love teppanyaki style restaurants, but there is a higher standard for places on restaurant row with high valet rates and even higher food prices. Even without this in consideration, Benihana still remains one of the worst teppanyaki style Japanese restaurants that I have experienced.

My boyfriend brought me here for our 3 year anniversary on May 8. We were both excited! (since this was our first Benihana experience) When making reservations he was asked if it was for a special occasion (btw, for anniversaries and dinners you get yummy ice cream and they take your picture and put it in a cute little frame as a souvenir), he said it was for our anniversary.

We got there right on time and were seated right away. They also sat down a party of four at our table. We ordered and our chef came to start entertaining us!! The other party then asked us if it was our anniversary, they were so friendly and nice!!! We finished eating, and to our surprise they brought out a little bowl of ice cream with a candle on top.

While eating the other party at our table got up to leave. We said goodbye and they congratulated us over and over. We finished eating our ice cream and thats when our waiter came up and told us our bill was "taken care of". WHAAATTTT?!?!

The party sitting at our table had paid for our whole bill and left before we got the chance to ask for our check. We were in total shock!!! We had an absolutely amazing time!!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO THE KIND GROUP OF PEOPLE AND BENIHANA FOR MAKING OUR ANNIVERSARY ONE WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

I love Benihana's but I can't stand this restaurant . First off the cooks put a lot more butter and oil than the others. Also there is a waiter in his twenties that is a horrible waiter. We ask for no dressing on the salad and he brings it and asks us if that's ok if we could eat it. He also looks bothered by every time we would call him

I love Behihana's that is why I took my Mom and Mother in law there for Mothers Day. While I will say the food and service were good everything else about the experience was a failure. This is why I am giving such a low ratting.

For starters we had a 6 pm dinner reservation, we were not seated until 6:35 pm this in my opinion is not acceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. The second failure was from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left it was extremely uncomfortably hot. I complained several time requesting the AC be turned up to no avail. I had to go outside 3 time to cool off, seriously. All I got was a smile of we will turn up the AC it never happened. I heard people at all the tables complaining it was too hot.

This is just not what you should expect from a restaurant in Beverly hills to deliver this type of dinning experience on Mothers Day. I say to everyone think twice before you choose Benihana's of Beverly Hills for your holiday or business dinning experience.

I love Behihana, and last night my daughter brought me here as a treat. It was my first time at this location. They are all pretty much the same.

My favorite chicken fried rice is right here at Benihana. I got the splash & meadow this time, because I love the steak and the shrimp SO VERY MUCH. All was delicious. I am a fan of both sauses, as well.  We also had Asahi beer and some sake. Our waitress forgot the sake and it took about 30 minutes to get it, but that stuff happens in a busy place.

Usually the patrons are somewhat interactive at these places, but not so here last night. That was a little odd.

If you sign up online, they send you a certificate for a free birthday meal. They always give you a souvenier photo when it is your birthday or anniversary, so be sure to tell them, it's a nice touch.

    Valet parking was 6.50.

Been to this location a couple of times for lunch so my review is based on all of them...

    The Good
*Lunch specials are a good deal (compared to dinner prices)
*Still get a little of the show even for lunch

    Bad
    *Portions are smaller (lower price)
*Crowded (reservations on a Friday lunch are a must)
*Terrible servers (rude and unattentive--blame it on the how busy they are)
*Wait (plan for a long lunch if the place is busy)

Overall, the place is ok for the novelty but with so many other great restaurants in the area this place pales in comparison.

I called 2 hours in advance to make a reservation for saturday lunch and was surprised that it wasn't crowded at all. The restaurant was very dim it was pretty hard to read the menu.
Our party of five was soon joined by two other guests. After orders were taken the salad and soup came out pretty fast and the chef came just in time as we finished those.
Our whole table ordered the chicken fried rice. The fried rice really wasn't the best I had tasted but watching the chef make it is definitely a delight. There's way too much butter in it but that's what makes it taste good.
Our chef seemed to pay more attention to the two guests but hey who wouldn't like to talk to attractive ladies than a boring family of five? I ordered the chef special seafood diablo, which I thought was a pretty good deal - $20 for shrimp, scallop and squid steak with udon, all pan fried in a spicy sauce. That was pretty good stuff. I was so stuffed I took half of it home for dinner.

This is a place I remember fondly from the early 2000's when the experience of robata was still new.  Benihana though seems to have been frozen in time as without any new tricks we're forced to look at the food and the price which I gotta tell you people; it ain't pretty.

A small group of us went here because we were nostalgic and because they give you a 30 dollar gift certificate for your birthday.  Who am I to say no to a good deal?  Upon arriving we were sent back in time to my college days, where families encircled the robata tables, the stereotypical Asian decor lined the walls and little kids looked on in wonder at the onion volcanoes.

Although the food is decent, for the price it's just ridiculous.  Yes it's true you do get a lot for the price as 50 dollars can get you a surf and turf with a weird onion soup, fried rice and some shrimp, but is any of it really that great?  I don't think so.  The food is either over or under seasoned but really who am I to complain?  Is anyone really paying attention to the food when there are meats flying about?  Probably not, but after a decade the novelty has worn off on me much like N'Sync has and I'm left with a bland taste in my mouth.

We came on a Tuesday night and ordered the Seafood Diablo since it was the chef's special this month and the Splash and Meadows because it was the closest entree meal to $30, and 2 orders of chicken fried rice for $48 (Used the $30 off birthday coupon)

    - Valet only for Benihana $6.50. Credit card accepted.
    - Suggest making a reservation. We had to wait 15-20min.
    - Open bar. No happy hour during the time we were there which was after 8pm.
    - Sat with 2 other parties, total of 8 at the table
    - Meal comes with: onion soup, salad, choice of white or chicken fried rice ($3.75 an order), grilled onions, mushrooms, and veggies.
    - Seafood Diablo: mixed seafood (scallop, shrimp, lobster, squid) with udon noodles with your choice spicy degree. Tasted great. Usually 22.75, but this month it's 20.
    -  Splash and Meadows: Shrimp and filet mignon. Delicious. tender meet!
    - Fancy show! Better than the Las Vegas Benihana! He kept over-estimating the food and most of us got extras! Martin, our chef, got a bit over excited as we saw pieces of fried rice flying everywhere and almost landing in my gfs water. haha! Close! He's great! Such an entertainer.
    - 2x the green tea ice cream! Such a nice waitress.
    - Frame picture of us :D!
    - Birthday coupon still good for 30day after bday, M-Thurs, Regular menu.
    - Benihana is good fun to spice up a boring weeknight.

I went here because I had a $30 dollar coupon.

The restaurant itself is kind of dim. But it's bright at the actual tables. Me and my two other friends were shared a table with another three customers.

My friends and I really wanted the sushi. But they said they weren't serving sushi at the time. HUGE disappointment. I ordered the Filet Mignon which was "Tenderloin* and mushrooms lightly seasoned and grilled to perfection." I asked for medium rare. The chef cooked it in front of us. The fried rice was just OK. The salad they served at the beginning was delicious. The steak and shrimp were pretty good!

Since I had the birthday coupon thing, they waived 30 dollars from the total bill! Which was awesome, because I thought it would only go towards my meal only. They then gave me free green tea ice cream. I've had bad green tea ice cream before, so I was rather pleased that theirs was exceptional.  They then took a picture and gave me a copy of it in a benihana frame. I thought that was super cute and sweet of them.

There was valet parking that was pretty cheap. And the one in charge of that made sure my car was safe (I was kind of paranoid).

    Overall, a good experience.

It's too bad Yelp doesn't allow you to give zero or negative stars.
If they did, that's what Benihana would get.

First of all, the entire staff (waiter, hostess, and chef) was extremely unenthusiastic and gave off an extremely jaded atmosphere. They were all "so over" this entire teppanyaki thing.

Wait a sec, aren't I here for their famous cooking shows? NO, they gave anything but that. Everyone was very unfriendly and wanted to get our table in and out ASAP. Our meal was rushed, and there were NO special cooking shows.

So far, I'm thinking, whatever, I guess maybe I just hyped this place up too much. What really made it a ONE STAR experience was when our chef (Jesus) accidentally dropped a couple pieces of shrimp on the table as he was trying to place them on my plate. Ok, I can live without a couple pieces of shrimp, BUT THEN he proceeds to pick up the 2 pieces of shrimp OFF THE TABLE AND PLACED THEM BACK ON MY PLATE, without one word - no apology. I was mortified and disgusted at the lack of hygiene and rudeness of this chef.

I was so excited to finally try out the famous Benihana. I'm sorry to say it ended up to be a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I really miss the days when this location was special! I don't know why, but lately the excitement has been missing  in the chefs we have had. Maybe the customers are numb to the skill and tricks the chefs use like flipping little shrimps in their hats or pockets, because the past couple times I've been there no little tricks like that were even done. So sad! Food is still great, but when I take my family there, we go for the entertainment aspect as well. At least the food is still great!! This is still my favorite location...JUST PLEASE don't take the customers for granted and Entertain ALWAYS as it was meant to be!!! Show us that skill!

Make a reservation!! If you show up, even on a weeknight, and don't have a reservation, you'll be waiting a long time.

Your experience here will be measured by 5 factors:

    1. Is this is your first time here? Are you on vacation from Minnesota? You'll probably love it. Have you been to many Benihanas over the years? You'll probably be tired of the experience. I've been going to Benihanas for so long I can even remember when the onion soup tasted like something.

    2. Are you looking for a romantic evening for two? Not here. Here is where you come if you don't mind rubbing elbows with families you just met or couples staring down awkwardly at their plates. It's noisy, crowded, and you wonder how all these people can afford a $120 dinner.

    3. How much alcohol are you planning on consuming? If you are crowd-averse, like me, this will aid immensely with the first two factors. Hell, alcohol makes this tired, loud experience bearable--actually somewhat enjoyable.

    4. Are you on a diet? Yeah? F*ck you. You're eating butter tonight, and good thing too, because nearly everything on the table has been positively drowned in it. I haven't seen that much butter used since my last midget swinger party.

    5. Do you like fried rice? No? F*ck you, order it anyway. Tell them I sent you. It's amazing. For bonus points, take some of the "seafood" sauce and pour it on top. It's like a hot liquid party in your mouth. The kind you can invite your grandmother to and she won't be put off by your trashy friends.

Our server was prompt and friendly and kept me liquored up with sake bottles throughout the evening. She got a generous tip for that, as it was the only way I hoped to get out of there alive.

Our chef for the night, Jesus, was enthusiastic and showed pride in what must be the most mundane public food preparation in the world. Again, alcohol helps to appreciate all his tricks that you've seen fifty times before, and he's probably done since time immemorial (because, you know, he's Jesus).

4 stars with the $30 birthday coupon.

Fun atmosphere for your first time! I had a great experience here despite all I've heard...My friend and I came here because she had a birthday coupon..$30 off any day of the month. Score!!!

This location can get packed even on a weeknight so make reservations!

Cool chefs. You can tell they take pride in their art of cooking. There is community seating...You are seated next to other parties and the chef comes by after all orders are taken. The chef brings all fresh ingredients to the table and cooks it for you on the spot with various tricks! Our table was a mix. No one at our table seemed interested, but that's why they shouldn't have came here for dinner in the first place. C'mon people, don't come here if you aren't in the mood to have some cheesy fun! I felt bad for the chefs, but one mom clapped and goofy me joined her. All in all, my friend and I had a good time anyway.

Food was average, so dont expect too much. I had the Filet mignon which tasted exactly like the New York cut. Couldn't tell the difference. I thought the meat tasted pretty good though, just not amazing.

Get the fried rice, too. It's cheap, but tasty.

Valet parking is $6. Cheap and convenient.

The Benitini is a very good cocktail if you decide to drink, but I caution you that you'll need a couple to feel that alcoholic kick. At least that's the case if you have a strong tummy like mine. That goes for all their drinks, though so choose the Benitini should you decide to have a cocktail! $10

I'm definitely coming back here for my own birthday month so I can cash in on that coupon! Without the coupon, the food is a bit pricey and I probably wouldn't find myself here again only for that reason. Also taking my mom here. She would get a kick out of this.

    Tip:
    - Go with people who would appreciate the environment. People who have been before may find the routine old and can ruin your experience.
    - Go for your birthday month. You gotta sign up online for the coupon.

My fist time here and the experience was awesome i loved this place, i got the yakisoba that was so delicious!

for drinks i got the blue moon something, that thing was strong but good :)
and i got a strawberry colada? idk  cant remember the names but any way the drinks were great!

overall great show and experience... you REALLY get your money's worth, oh and i didnt know this but the table is for 8 ppl so try to go with a group of friends that will fill up all the spots or else you will have strangers at your table... its awkward & uncomfortable since there were children in our table and we had to keep remembering to keep our potty mouths to a minimal lol

I don't know what to say about this place?!?!

I have been here five times in the past 7 years, twice for my birthday.

I don't think I will coming here again after the last experience this month but I don't want to tell you not to--it's not bad--it's just not great, but the folks that work here are so nice, especially how they treat you on your birthday.

Just that our last meal here was just bla. There was no passion--it was like going through the motions and faking it.  The Filet was OK, not great.  The Scallops were bitter and we can't order them again.  The chicken was OK.  The shrimp and veggies are very good. The Benihana fried rice was very good.  The soup was like drinking water with some color added.  The salad dressing needs serious improvement.  The sauces had no spike, and were watered down, or not prepared correctly.

The show by the chef was exactly the same as last year, movement by movement--he was friendly and kind, but with the enthusiasm of a government worker doing a rote choir.

The ventilation is poor.  Our clothes smelled from grease and you can see some of the residue on your eyeglasses.  They need to clean the vent hoods or improve the fans--I don't know what--but I had trouble breathing at the table.  We inhaled more fumes than a firefighter that day.   I had to wash all my clothes after that meal.

Five stars for their CHICKEN FRIED RICE ($3.50)!!!  I never ever eat fried rice because the majority of restaurants don't know how to properly cook fried rice. As a result, it's never tasty. Benihana made an exception and quite surprised me. It's the best fried rice I've eaten in years. I will come back here solely for chicken fried rice. Yes, it's that good. Moreover, the portion is generous.

My entree, Spicy Hibachi chicken was delicious. They use good quality chicken. So my left over which lasts for two other meals was still quite enjoyable. I think you can skip the spicy sauce-I would just order plain Hibachi chicken without the hot sauce next time. Not worthy of extra 2 dollars.

I've read so many negative reviews about this location. But my experience was okay- nothing bad nothing good. Service can be a little slow but manageable. I would come back because this location is very close to my place and once again CHICKEN FRIED RICE rocks.

Come here during lunch for great specials and quick seating! At dinner time, everything is double the price and crowded. I had lunch with my co-workers and we were seated (thanks to reservations, just in case) and fed and out of the place in about an hour. They have a great lunch combo, where you can get 2 entrees, which is great if you can't make up your mind. I went for the scallops and chicken, but I always forget I'm not the biggest fan of the chicken.

If you rate the place strictly on food, then it's not that spectacular. But you're not here solely for food. You come here for the experience of the chefs cooking right in front of you, seeing your food made and a few tricks here and there. That itself makes the food taste good.

I'd recommend the shrimp and scallops. And make sure you get the friend rice. om nom nom. if you ask for more fried rice and don't eat all your food, you've got lunch for the next day! You also get mushrooms, zucchini and onion, which taste good, even though I'm not normally a fan of thick cut veggies.

Come here, have fun, leave happy!

Oh, and if it's your b-day, you get green tea ice cream :)

Great service and of course, you get to watch as your meal is prepared before your eyes. My only suggestion: each cook station seats 8 people. This is a great opportunity for larger groups. If your party fills fewer than 8 seats, at least be friendly to the people you are sharing your station with!

I went here with my coworkers one Friday for lunch, and we had a great time. We made a reservation two weeks in advance, and when we arrived, we were seated right away.

The food was great. Our chef was less of a showman than the chef at the table nearby, but he was still very capable and the food tasted delicious. Our server didn't clear our plates or refill our drinks as often as we needed her to, but she was still better than average.

The best part of Benihanas though is that they actually do something if it's your birthday! My coworkers told them that it was my special day, and I was surprised with a song sung by two employees, free ice cream, and a commemorative photo of me and my party. I hate that some restaurants have gotten rid of their birthday celebrations, so it was nice to be at a place that still made people feel special!

How can you go wrong at Benihana?

The focus is on teppanyaki grill filet mignon, chicken & shrimp, served with egg fried rice & veggies, all cooked in front of you at your table. The food consistently tastes great & there should be no surprises. The serving sizes are very generous: no little gourmet dishes here. You will leave feeling fat & satiated!

The chef's "Japanese" table show is always a good little novelty, regardless of whether you're with family, friends, entertaining tourists or on a date. The vibe is always busy & bubbly, but I must admit that the service is always average. It's just that kinda place, so they get away with it.

If you know the way forwards, you come at lunchtime & it's $20 for the same meal that costs $50 in the evening.

This place has changed from the time when I was living in Los Angeles.
Chef's were Japanese...not the case anymore..

Price is decent if you go during lunch time. Portions are ok. Not a lot
not too little.  Ambiance is good. What do you expect in Beverly Hills?

Recently visited due to my nephew's Birthday. Would I go back and eat at
their other locations. Sure, if you pay.

If you like Teppan Grill.. I suggest you ready my review regarding Bari-Bari  in

I know....been there done that....seriously, I have been coming here for over 13yrs....anyhow the founders long gone.....but his concept lives on in this well established LA favorite. This review is to praise the consistently very good service and care by the staff and management; specifically the skills , humor and technique of one of this joints famed chefs. If you are bringing guests...do yourself a favor and ask for "Ismael", the guy has excellent skills ....Teppanyaki is not for the faint hearted ..and this guy delivers with the skill of a Samuarai Iron chef!  We had  shrimp, lobster, chic and filet mignon, for 9 people......everything was cooked perfectly as we ordered......he was entertaining, quick and after everything was served.....this Sensei simply bowed and left!!!  Thank you staff and management...our guests absolutely enjoyed the whole experience.

I give this place 3 stars.. The food wasn't as good as I thought it would be. We got the chicken rice I got the regular of course.. The filet mignon, emperor salad and veggies for me. Basically the chef does his thing Nd prepares your food I front of u and does little fun tricks. I guess it would be a good date spot?

Yelp says 3 stars is A-OK. I think that's what I'd describe Benihana as. My first experience was great: the show, crowding the 8 seats around the chef with all your friends, decent prices for the amount of food they give you (A LOT. Be prepared to come home with leftovers). But after you experience it once, I don't know if you'd come back again. The entire course is basically grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, grilled steak, grilled fish (depending on what you order, basically)... a pinch of salt and pepper here and there. Interestingly enough, the only food thing I remember being super memorable that night is the soup.

Agree with other yelpers that the chicken fried rice is a must. I just got normal rice and remember being totally jealous of my friends who got the fried rice.

Ah, Benihana one of my favorite family places to eat since childhood.
Awesome for kids, the date, the whole fam-jam or just friends! Always a good time and the food is good as well. I have been to Benihanas across the country but my favorite is definitely this one in Beverly Hills (second best would have to be Ontario).

My latest encounter with this particular Benihana was on my birthday so there was singing and polaroid pictures and dessert given to me which I think was very sweet. The service at this Benihana is always amazing and the servers and cooks are always friendly and go the extra mile no matter what day it is (they are even nicer on birthdays).

For those of you who are new to the whole teppankayi craze, basically you get to watch your food being cooked right in front of you on a stove table with lots of smoke and the chef usually puts on a pretty good show (it gets old after a few times, but hey it's all fun). There are many items to choose from - seafood, meats veggies - to be cooked on the stove. Also there are many a la carte items as well such as the salads, soups and sushi which is surprisingly very good. Rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll are great, they both are not generic rolls you would find at any restaurant - lots of flavor jam packed into a roll.

I'd highly recommend getting the set meals which come with a salad, amazing onion soup, entrees and ice cream for dessert. My personal favorite is the Land N Sea which comes with a nice portion of filet mignon and scallops. Also Rocky's choice is great for the meat lover which comes with hibachi steak and chicken breast. If you like raw fish, the tuna steak is phenomenal, it is grilled to your desired rareness and then put in a vinegar onion and veggie mix - amazing! Each one of these is good for one person and you can always share - just tell your chef! A good tip is to get the fried rice for the $3 upgrade, it is really tasty and worth it!

There is valet parking at this particular location, although there is street parking which is evidently cheaper. Great food, great service and good times what more is there to ask for?

I've been to a couple Benihanas for birthday dinners and had a great experience however this time, I came here with coworkers for a going away lunch at the Beverly Hills location and the service was terrible! We had a party of 10 and it seriously took 15 minutes to get seated while the restaurant was empty! The waitress was nice but the service was extremely slow when bringing out our drinks, salads and soups.  I ordered the Lunch Duet and chose the Hibachi Chicken and Yakisoba noodles. Our chef was entertaining to watch- gotta love the onion volcano and choo choo train. The beating fried rice heart is also cute.

It took awhile to flag down our server for any condiments and drink refills so you can imagine how long it took for us to get the check. I tried flagging down another waitress who was just standing at the kitchen door looking down at her nails but she looked up and back at her cuticles. I've never seen anyone so rude before. The manager was also no where to be found so no complaint could be filed.

The food is pretty pricey for the quality of food but you do get a large portion. I won't be coming back for awhile unless it's another birthday or work event and I definitely will not be going back to the Beverly Hills location.

When I'm rating one star, do I even need to say anything? One star tells you everything.
One of the worst sashimi/fish/ I've ever had. not fresh, awful. I know people come here for teppan/entertainment, but if you are serving sashimi, it still should be fresh. And if you are charging me extra for fried rice when I ordered lunch boat, they should say so. Don't even ask me "white rice or fried rice?".
And I don't like the fact they don't have a table for one person. Why did I have to share teppan table with others? I'm not going back with my own money. I'll only be back when I get $30 birthday gift certificate, like this time.

Benihana has made me betray my faithfulness to Shoguns (in pasadena) when it comes to teppanyaki restaurants. Now dont get me wrong, Shoguns is still a good place to eat, But Benihana just won me over.

Last visit was on a Monday night. Came here with my wife, bro in law, his fiance and our nephew. It was a Monday night so no wait at all. For appetizer's we ordered the shrimp crunchy rolls. They were extremely good. I ordered the hibachi steak with fried rice. We also ordered shrimp to share between all of us. I ordered my steak medium well and was cooked to perfection. Very tender and juicy. I love the fried rice here. Tastes so good. So much so that my wife was asking the chef the ingridients he uses for it, as she writes them down to make it herself. We all left satisfied with the service and great tasting food.

There is parking on the street, or valet for $6. Basically for a huge chain restaurant the food is outstanding. Till next time...

Visited this Beverly Hills staple last night after seeing the Paleyfest at the Saban Theatre..

It was a little bit of a wait but I felt compelled to be a kid again and enjoy the ORIGINAL cooking show that is Benihana!

From having your Mai Tai in a ceramic mug to sitting with total strangers enjoying either a Filet Mignon, Seafood or Chicken along with their ever famous fried rice has been an LA staple since it's inception in 1964.

I shared the Filet Mignon & Chicken dish for 2 which was a bargain which came with veggies, shrimp (i suggest getting more shrimp a la cart), and green tea. The whole dinner with cocktails came out to about 77 dollars which was decent compared to some of the other menu items that can be a little more expensive.

Everything was delicious, but it can be a bit loud since everyone goes here for their birthdays and most likely lots of drunk rich kids blowing their parent's dough.

It's definitely a once or twice a year visit for me but I'm glad we did it. I definitely suggest the chef specials! They're always a good move!

The sushi here is just mediocre. Most people come for the teppan, which is good, but not great and especially not for their prices.. I usually get the Surf Side, which has calamari, jumbo shrimp, and scallops. The scallops are pretty good but the shrimp and calamari are nothing special. I do like their chicken fried rice though.

WATCH OUT FOR THEIR VALET PARKING. Check your car for scratches before you leave!!! The guy there scratched my car (probably against someone else's car) and it completely removed the paint. I would have complained but didn't see it until I got home. ):

Three stars for the food, but two overall because I'm the bitter owner of a scratched Honda Civic..
