I went here a few days ago and it just wasn't the same.  The batter was too oily and the fries were a little burnt.  The fish was still good, but the batter just really disappointed me.  Too bad this place isn't consistent.  I'll give it another try, but I'm skeptical and doubtful.  I'm disappointed because it's Lent and I NEED good fish and chips on a Friday night.

This place is really good.  Wonderful fish n chips, and the fries are pretty darn tasty too.  We also found this place through a groupon, which I agree was well spent.  Because you don't get any money back with it, we kind of went all out.  We got the salmon fish n chips, albacore sandwich, onion rings and the battered mushrooms.  My wife also got a latte there (which they make with coffee from Wandering Goat).

Fried at the right temperature, not soggy, real tasty.  I think you should go.

I had the opportunity to check out this little "hut" thanks to a Groupon offer that turned out to be well worth it!  We tried the albacore fish sandwich and it was absolutely amazing!  No question the best I have ever had with every ingredient fresh and just the right amount.....except for the huge amount of generous portions of albacore!

The lady was so helpful and friendly providing quick service.  I can't wait for my next visit which will be soon....but what to order?

Go here and you'll be glad you did plus they support local businesses...Wandering Goat, The Fish Market, etc.

Drop everything you are doing and go to Blazing Chef now.

While it's easy to miss, you shouldn't let the location deter you. Blazing Chef sets the bar so high for fried fish in the Emerald Valley it's equivalent to star gazing. They source their fish locally, they source their coffee locally, they donate their used oil to those clunker bio-diesel Mercedes you get stuck behind on 126 on your way to the coast.  Well, two out of three isn't so bad!

The food, the food, the glorious, deep fried, beer battered food. The artery clogging, guilt inducing, who gives a rip it's amazing food!

The customers that claim Blazing Chef has the best fish sandwich around are not fibbing. No over exaggerations here folks. I had the tilapia and it was a transcendent experience.

Here's what I knew about fish sandwiches before Blazing Chef:

    1. Filet-O-Fish
    2. Carl's Catch
    3. DQ Fish Sandwich

    Nasty. Nasty. Nasty.

Here's what I know after Blazing Chef:

Eating fish will never be the same.

This sandwich was loaded for $5.50. Swiss melting into a wheat bun on one side and perfectly deep fried tilapia on the other. Throw in some lettuce, some onions, and slather that bad boy in tartar sauce (is there dill in it?) and you have a hand held piece of fish sammich history.

Blazing Chef is great. I started writing this review at 4 stars and decided to bump it to 5. The food is great and the business history in the community is great. If you like fried fish, you'll love Blazing Chef.

    Something to chew on:

While I don't support the abuse of fungi, you should probably try the battered mushrooms. They kick ass.
