Can be hit or miss here. Place is huge and a great sound system. Sometimes I have been here and danced my ass off. Other times you go and you can't find a person anywhere. No rhyme or reason. They really need some theme nights and maybe get some dancers. They often have bad drag shows or karoake but nothing that kept my attention. The right promoter could really get something going on here.

This is an amazing bar with the hottest dj's and best bartenders.  They offer theme parties which they transform the club into just about any theme.  My favorite is there Studio 54 parties and thier Disco T- Dances on Sunday.  Check out legendary Studio 54 bartender Sal Defalco and Dj Frank Coor.  Dj Richie Rich turns out the many hot disco tunes its simply amazing.  Want to feel like a star come to Club Boom, its awesome.

BOOM! Sometimes called Atomic is located in the gay strip (sorry, has nothing to do with "strippers") mall, The Shoppes at Wilton Manor, and as one might correctly assume is a gay bar/disco.

I've walked by this place for years, but never bothered to go inside, which was a mistake. It's a nice place and a lot of fun. The entrance leads you into a bar which is separated from the loud music of the dance floor area. The bartenders are rather attentive, unlike what you find in most places of this sort, and there are not only bar stools but sofa lounges on which to sit. This part of Boom is quiet enough for conversation or for a game of pool on their pool table. To get to the dance area, you go through some other doors which are intended to contain the loud noise. There are plenty of people dancing, generally a healthy cross section of all ages as well as types, like a few college, Goths, bears, oldsters, a drag queen or two, and you might not believe me on this, but I even spotted a middle aged Emo. I never thought Emo's came in the middle age variety. This, and there is a lot of visual people humor. At least it was humorous to me to see two huge bear guys of near sumo wrestler size attempting to dance to an upbeat Lambada dance style tune. The inside dance floor also has a bar downstairs and a bar on the balcony above. Best off, it has a high ceiling complete with the usual disco lighting, mirrored balls and the like.

All in all not a bad place to go when out on the town, though as far as disco/dance joints I have been to a lot better.

FUN! This is a great dance club in Wilton Manors!  I came here last Friday night and just danced the night away!  Friendly staff - HUGE dance floor and lots of hot patrons!  Not stuffy in the least. Great music, lighting and sound system! This is a place where you can REALLY let go, and I think it fills a void for good gay dance clubs in Fort Lauderdale.  I'll definitely be back again!

If a club goes boom and no one is there to hear it does it actually make a sound? The answer is probably yes, but what's the point?

This place is huge and the sound system is pumping. Unfortunately, no one is here. A handful of younger guys. A handful of notsoyounger guys. And a couple of drag queens. Last night one of them celebrated her birthday with a special show. I can't even remember the song she performed because her tuck was out of control. I mean, if you're going to stand on your head and then do a series of splits please have the sense to tape your dick up and away from view. Sporting a moose knuckle is a quick way to lose your audience.

Aside from the entertainment, the drinks are okay, but this is the type of place where it's probably good to know someone. They pour well, but expect to pay for it. It's a good thing they take credit cards.

Ok the hot uncut Latins are everywhere!  I'm gonna have to repent for the things I have done!  Good drinks and flirty men in a good safe area.  Put this one on your list.

This place is pretty vanilla if you ask me...
I feel like ever since The Manor opened people have flocked over there instead. It still has decent music and a nice crowed but it just doesn't compare to the newer places.
The smoke inside kind of sucks too, but I can deal with it.

I came here with Thais A. over spring break '11. It has 1 bar upstairs and one downstairs, but the main reason to come here is to dance. The dance floor is pretty big and they were playing some good music.

Apparently Boom stays open later than most places on weekdays because the bartender at New Moon suggested us to come here since it was the only place still open (and our friend really wanted to get his moves on).

I definitely wasn't drunk enough for this because dancing and/or watching gay males dance isn't my cup of tea, but everyone there seemed like they were having a good time.

The only dance club on Wilton Drive leaves a lot to be desired.  While it's physical setup inside is great, the music is either dated (Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez, etc.) or too circuit party (Junior Vasquez, Tony Moran).  How about just playing a Rihanna or Lady Gaga club remix?

Hate to say it, but a big part of why I avoid this place like the plague is how smokey it is inside.  Since Florida's smoking laws are behind a lot of the country, you can light up anywhere inside this bar.  I recently visited here for five minutes after a night at the Manor and boy, did I smell it on my clothes the next day.  If they banned smoking inside, I'm sure they would get a lot more patrons back.  I know a ton of people (myself included) that only try to patronize the non-smoking bars (Matty's, Manor and Alibi).

The bartenders really make this Bar... Jeremy has to be my favorite. If hot sweaty men and a crowded dance floor are your thing, come on a thursday and enjoy!

We have been here for Karaoke night on Wednesday and back again Sunday for their T-Dance.  Everyone here is here to have a good time and nothing else.

It is a gay male club - and they turn up the heat just enough for boys to have to take their shirts off... and it is a nice view!

Just fun - no raunchiness! No judgment!  No pretentious jerks!  Lots of good drinks!  Great music!  I'm a fan!

Club-hopping on a Thursday night is not my usual thing, but here we are, arriving around 11:30PM.  Boom had great music/DJ, an adequate dance floor, but the crowd was a bit older (on a Thursday anyway).  After 30 minutes of really fun dancing (alone, no hot grinding here), we left knowing that the night probably has climaxed and on a slow fizzle.  I might consider coming back on a different night if I were in the area again to see what its true potential is.

Pretty decent place.  Nice music, ok drinks. its a "hangout with the boys" kinda place. Not a "make friends kinda place" (at least on my trips there but i still have fun with the friends that come with me"

I was here on a Friday night with a few friends, we arrived at about 12:30a.m. and to be honest, the place was pretty dead.  I'm not sure if it was an off night or what, because most other reviewers gave Boom 4 star reviews and I know some people swear by this place.  When we were here there wasn't much in the way of "eye candy", and neither the video bar area or the club space were very full (however Alibi across the lot, which usually thins out early, was still pretty full at this time which is a bit odd).  I was drinking Coronas, but my friends who were drinking vodka drinks said they were generous pours.  Maybe on another night I'd give this club more stars; On the night we were here, it was pretty disappointing.

love the video room that plays music videos and boasts a nice pool table, but i really wish they would be something else other than the anthem music that is constantly playing in the main room.

other than that, it's fun and there's hardly ever a cover.

Just returned from a Florida and had a chance to check this place out as it was recommended by our taxi-driver. lol.

Well we were'nt disappointed because we got some cheap drinks, they had a larger dance floor, and had 2 levels of fun !

The only reason I did'nt give it a stellar rating was because it's out of the way for tourist...maybe it was intended that way?  Also I figured it was Florida and the clubs stay open longer but no....everything still closes at 2am like most of the country. Oh well.

The night we went it was crowded..not packed and it seems there was a wide array of ages, tastes, and waist-lines. lol.

So have fun here because you'll fit right in !

So, I was already tipsy by the time we got to Boom. I already had 8 cocktails at Alibi next door.

But, I definitely remember the hot bartender smiling and handing me a margarita (who ordered one??). He was so hot I would have taken anything he handed. I finish the drink in three gulps.

I come home, throw up and go to bed.

The next morning my partner tells me that the margarita had at least 4 shots worth of Patron in it. No wonder I threw up.

Now, that is how you make a drink.....stiff!!! Just like the bartender...yummmm!!

And this is how a gay nightclub should be done!
Different rooms, different levels, video bar in one room milling around the bar in pink cascade lighting, in another darker, house music with a small stage for drag queens, voguers and everyone post midnight with remixed diva house music and clang clang on the drums with good drinks at decent prices poured by good looking muscle boys!

I was watching "Fight Club" on TV on my last night in Ft. Lauderdale, and something about Brad Pitt's performance (read: naked torso) made me think I should go check out the local scene. I went to Boom, which turned out to be nothing like Brad Pitt's naked torso.

Boom is two bars in one-- a fairly bright video/pool bar and a darker dance club, separated by glass doors that keep the music volumes distinct. This is good or bad depending on your tolerance for dance mixes of Toni Braxton, Deborah Cox, and Whitney Houston. (I have a high tolerance, BTW.)  At one point I heard a full 20-minute Whitney rock block, to wild applause from the patrons.

A thirty-something man, built like a wire coat hanger and wearing a half-unbuttoned color-block full-placket polo, pleated khaki shorts, and flip-flops was holding his drink rather elegantly, pinkie extended, while he shuffled across the empty dance floor. As the music segued fluidly from "Whatchulookinat" to "So Emotional," he kicked off his flip-flops and jumped up on the stage. He completely unbuttoned the polo, threw it onto the empty dance floor below, did a vertical push-up off the mirrored wall behind the stage, and promptly fell ass over teakettle, also to wild applause from the patrons.

If top-40 cheese is your scene, this is a little crumble of bleu from the gods.
