End of story: Classic French Bistro food in New Canaan. Go there for the steak and frites.

We go to Boulevard 18 quite often, probably the most of all the restaurants in town.  I would have given the restaurant 4 stars but have noticed that food consistency is going down a little bit.  For example, I was blown away by the French onion soup the first time I had it, but most recently, the soup I had was too sweet. The potato-wrapped sea bass was succulent and crispy the first time I had it and flaccid the second time.  Not good.

Still we go for the gougeres and steak and frites, which my kids love. I also love the kale salad. Service is also very good.

Very nicely done table settings white table cloths, beautiful crystal etc.. We had the Halibut special very good.  They still have growing pains staff gathers in corners chatting people moving things through the restaurant while dinner service is going on.  They couldn't find the bottle of wine I ordered they eventually did &Andrea our Server apologized.
Not an inexpensive place as a matter of fact very pricey.  Good not great.

Just okay. Went back for a second visit it's Just okay not great &with the tariff they charge they have to be great.  Maybe we'll give it another try not sure.

It's a good restaurant.  People are very friendly and the owners are nice guys too.  Two women sat down and were blabbing all night long and wouldn't leave our table for our 8:00 reservation.  They comped us some appetizers and we had a nice time at the bar, and then gave us a nice big table, while they apologized profusely for something that was completely out of their control.  The food was very good and they make excellent drinks also.

We had a disappointing experience. We ordered a bottle of wine and had finished our appetizer before the hostess told us they were out of the bottle we ordered. Services is exceptionally quick, but comes at a price. My duck duo was either barely warm or totally overcooked. To be fair, they offered to replace it with another entree and offered a free dessert, but we declined since my wife would have finished her entree by the time a replacement arrived. We were puzzled to see a guy in Chef Whites come out of the kitchen every few minutes and hang out at the bar (especially give this was a busy Friday). Apparently this was the Executive Chef, not the Chef, but either way he would have been better served checking that the food was hot before leaving the kitchen. When we left he was having a glass of champagne at the bar. To be fair, we had lunch there a few weeks earlier when the kitchen was not under stress and it was fine.

Meh.  Really nice and cozy ambience, quiet enough for a meal with friends.
Visited with a group of 4 and only one dish stood out as being delicious.
The grilled octopus app was very tender and very good, except for the overly strong warm potato salad (with too much vinegar and olives?).
My french onion soup was much too sweet.
Chopped vegetable salad with fava beans and grilled chicken- entirely lacked flavor.
Short ribs special - neither of the guys flipped over this dish.  Must say the homemade short ribs I have had taste a million times more tender and flavorful.  This dish was a real expensive letdown.
Best dish - the special arctic char.  Fish was prepared perfectly, served over the most delicious sauteed vegetables (swiss chard, perhaps).
Now if the rest of the meals were like this dish, I would definitely return.  Given the prices though and the fact we had 1 excellent item out of so many, it is yet another one on the list not to go back to.

I'm excited to finally have a French restaurant in town.  Relaxed atomosphere, wonderful waitstaff, and very good food.  The wine list is also extensive.

The bar area is small (about 8 stools) but friendly and comfortable.  The dining area isn't too small or cramped but also not so large that it gets very noisy.

I hope to go here often!

Just celebrated Thanksgiving here with my husband and had a wonderful meal!  Truly delicious food and a warm and inviting atmosphere.  Every single course was better than expected.  Kudos to the kitchen on a job well done.

I love the remodel inside too - red and white chic decor with a lovely tin ceiling.  A Parisian atmosphere in New Canaan - and just what the town needs.  I hope it will be a huge success.

We'll be back to try the regular menu!

Pretty good, lovely service.  Wines by the glass could stand to be upgraded. Portions are overwhelmingly large, but food is tasty. Overall, a nice addition to town

I've been to this restaurant two times and each time I conclude the experience is very good.  The food is very good, the portions are above average, the value is high.  The service is strong, the wine list is broad and they're willing to let you "taste" a few to see what you like.  Overall, I find the restaurant to be a new staple for me and my wife plus friends.  It's good for casual dining and special events too, though my one knock would be a commentary about "special event" dining.  My wife and I EACH had our birthday dinners here and subtly informed the restaurant of this...they even acknowledged they knew it was "our" birthday....and while I don't expect anything for free, not even a little candle on desert was included, let alone anything else deemed "special".  The irony is they give you a survey card with the check that asks for your birthday, your spouse's birthday, and your anniversary dates....I think it's funny that they ask as if they'd do anything anyway.  Regardless, the food quality, portions, good service are enough for us to return.

One of the very best dining experiences I have EVER had. No, really.

Perfect combination of cuisine, wine parings, atmosphere, interior design, music, lighting, comfortable chairs & fine linens.
Apps: Roquefort stufed olives- crunchy, salty, creamy wonderfulness, shoe string fries with truffle oil & herbs- crunchy truffle fun, house made Torchon Foie Gras- divine!, Escargo in herb butter- tender, buttery.
Main: Exquisite seafood- the 3 tier Fruits De Mer was sublime. Grilled octopus w warm potato salad- words escape me- tender & perfect execution, seafood sausage (i didn't try it), wild mushroom raviolli w truffle butter- delicate pillows gently encasing earthy meaty mushrooms dressed in truffle buttery dreaminess.....

St. Germain cocktails, French Pino Noir- perfect paring with our choices.

Stupendous service! Attentive, knowledgeable, unpretentious, very gracious.
There was a party of 10 of us and the whole exsperience was seamless and just excellent all around.

The chef (a very, very adroit woman!), and the fabulous proprietors of Strada 18 in SoNo have struck culinary gold again- THANK YOU!!!

I really liked this restaurant! The menu was amazing, not too big and it had a good variety of food.  My appetizer was the octopus salad which was soo good! We also tried their home-made sausage with lentils and it was yummy. The potato-wrapped cod was simply melt-in-your-mouth good,  I would recommend that dish!
    I would definitely come back

Boulevard 18 is a terrific little new restaurant here in town.  It's quickly become one of my favorite places to dine in New Canaan, and that's saying a lot because I'm kind of a curmudgeon!

The food is French and exquisite.  The wine selection is great.  Between Henry (or Henri?), who is one of the owners, and Donny, the head bartender (you may know him from 1020 Post in Darien), they've got everything expertly covered in the domain of wine and spirits.

The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the service is attentive and friendly.
    Desserts are wonderful.

There's no reason not to try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Came upon this place when a friend of mine suggested we try it out, since she knew the owners at Strada and wanted to try their latest and greatest.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the menu was good. The sausages we ordered as an appetizer were out of this world- flavorful and a-maz-ing... even the potatoes that came with them soaked up the flavor. The fries were generous but I can do without them next time. The deviled eggs were, well, deviled eggs.

As for dinner, came here during Lent on a Friday, and although I cannot seem to get through a week without slipping on my promise to give up candy, I am pretty good about avoiding meat. Oh, whoops, just ate that sausage didn't I?

Okay so that excuse is out the window, but I will admit that I ordered a fish I had never had before. It was on the special menu- arctic char, and after the first bite it was unbearably salty. Now, since I'm not sure what arctic char SHOULD taste like, I'm going to give them the benefit of a star. But, I will not make this mistake again. Stick to the land and pasta dishes (which I know they are good at) and/or read other Yelp reviews before you make your selection!

I know these guys make good food, and have done it consistently at Strada for quite some time, so if you are in New Canaan this place is definitely worth a shot.

I am huge fan of Strada 18 in SONO so I was psyched to hear that they were opening a new place in New Canaan.  I actually ordered a vegetarian dinner (and I am definitely a meat lover!) and it was SO tasty and satisfying!  Had a beautiful wine list and we also enjoyed the mushroom ravioli appetizer.  Parking is across the street behind town hall. Prices are a bit high but I guess that is french food!  Seating is a bit tight in there.  Think it would be fun to pop in for cocktails and steak frites and sit at the bar.
