I have been coming here for over a year and my friends and I have NEVER had anything that seems to fit the mediocre category others have described. The happy hour has some excellent dishes, including the to-die-for blackened shrimp, spicy chicken wings and the not on the happy hour menu but fabulous bread pudding.  Being English, I am a self appointed expert on bread pudding and this one is delicious! The service is always great, and super friendly.
I know they are starting to remodel, update their menu and change their name. Please don't take some of your staple foods away. We love them and you guys!!

Great place for lunch and great atmosphere. I love their blackended shrimp as an appetizer. We usually go on Friday when Oscar is working. He always takes great care of us. They have a great shrimp PoBoy as well. We've never had a bad experience here and will always come back.

I never write reviews, but had too! The best Shrimp & grits I have ever had!  Also need to try the fried chicken and gravy. I have already eaten here three nights in a row because I was craving the shrimp and grits. I also had the jumbalya, it wasn't the best but still good. officially my new spot for dinner!

Nix the shrimp, get the burger! Wandered in with my friend to watch the Super Bowl and was surprised to find the tastiest burger that I have ever had in my life! The Apple Bourbon BBQ Bacon and Cheddar Burger is not only a mouthful to say but a mouthful of flavor! ...Yea, I know that that was lame, but its true. I've brought multiple friends and family here and all of them have agreed with me. Best burger of my life!

I love tacos and I love deals, so naturally I dragged my man to BSS for Taco Tuesdays. :D

    We ordered:

    * $1 (tiny) chicken taco - meh
    * $1 (tiny) beef taco - meh
    * $1 (tiny) potato - not sure what I expected, but wasn't impressed that it tasted like breakfast potatoes in my taco. :/
    * $1 (tiny) fish - okay, but needed salt - and I'm the kind of person who does NOT eat salt
    * 7 Blackened shrimp - oh hellooooo! Yummy. Ordered a second helping.
    * Shrimp quesadilla - now we're talkin!

Prolly won't be coming back. I don't mind dark and divey places, but when it's so dark that I can barely see (coupled with mediocre food), I'm afraid of missing my mouth and instead of shoving food up my nose.

The search goes on for THE Taco Tuesday joint. ;-)

For 3 years, I would come in and enjoy a couple of New Castles and the Gumbo or Jambalaya.  The place was always clean and the service was good on most occasions.  It never bothered me since I was in heaven.  But, if you walk in with attitude, you are going to get it right back. I learned to relax and enjoy the little things in life and treat everyone with respect.  It goes along way...

This is great place to enjoy some cold drinks and great Creole cooking.

    Thanks,

My husband and I went to Bourbon Street today after a not-so-good experience a couple of years ago, we thought we would give it another try.

    Big mistake.

We started with the hush puppies and chips and "salsa" and guacamole.  The hush puppies were extremely bland. The chips were good but the so called "salsa" was actually pico de gallo and not very good.

Nick ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger, no mayo, which was actually surprisingly good, but the fries were mushy and flavorless. They brought him a side of mayo...

I ordered the Chicken wrap and I specified no bacon or mayo.  After about 25 minutes waiting for our entrees, they delivered our meals and there was bacon in mine.  The server asked me if that was ok and I said "no, its not ok. I asked for no bacon".  He apologized and brought it back to the kitchen for them to fix.

When they brought the food back to me it was horribly presented and looked like someone had been picking through it...not good follow through gentlemen.

I don't understand why people just can't follow simple instructions.

Needless to say we are never going there again.

This place used to be a solid Happy Hour, until they got rid of their Popcorn Shrimp. SO SAD!!!! I haven't really had anything that's made me feel that this place is Louisiana style or Cajun...but the food is still decent.

It's a fun bar to watch sports. Good number of tvs, cheap beer buckets, and they have drink/food specials whenever the Lakers play (even outside of Happy Hour times)

Not bad. - not GREATT - but Not bad.

I really enjoyed eating here.  Normally I would never go to a a place like this, it's to much of a bar for me, but islands couldn't seat 7 people and I was starved!  So we went here and I'm so glad!  The service was great, and that's hard to dowith a party of 7 very hungry demanding women.  But our waiter came through.  We had appitizers, drinks and meals...everything yummy.  Especially the hush puppies!  The only thing I can fault this place with is their lack of a blender = no piña colada for me :( but I survived and really enjoyed the meal!

Due to the reviews, I was iffy about this place but it was quite delicious! They have a new chef and new menu, oh and homemade bacon...I think homemade bacon is all I need to say for you to give this place a try.

Blackened chicken, fish, and shrimp were just so so.
Beer battered fish and chips were greasy.
    Jambalaya and gambo were disappointing.

    Good various condiments.
    Excellent service.

This is not a good place to have dinner, but it seemed like a good place to have drinks.  We might go back for the happy hour.

As of this moment, this is perhaps the closest I have been to New Orleans.  We have popped in here a couple of times and always enjoyed their food.

FOOD & DRINK:  I must mention they have a DAILY happy hour, INCLUDING the weekends.  When we arrived on Saturday, we were pleased to be able to enjoy an app on the happy hour menu and a couple of cocktails at a discounted price.  Note:  The cocktails are STRONG!  I used to love em that way and sometimes still do, but was wowed by how strong they were this last time.  Their jambalaya is excellent and so far, we haven't had anything we haven't enjoyed on their menu.

SERVICE:  Excellent.  No complaints from the table server or the bartender.  In fact, all have been pleasant.

PARKING:  I can't say much about the parking directly, since we usually park at the mall (which previously didn't charge and now charges).  On Pico, there are a few places that offer valet, so this could be included as one.  Can't say, sorry.  There is also metered parking on the streets, so thats another option.  As I mentioned, we go w/mall parking.  Its just a short walk if you stay on the westside of Westwood.

Overall, a great place.  I think we should hit it up with some friends for happy hour and I'm sure we'd have an even better time!  Quite a few booths.

Food is good, drinks are great, service is excellent.

I don't know why people give this place 1 star, it is faar from 1 star. The decor is awesome, the people who work there are friendly, their is food and a great happy hour. What's better in WLA? Very very few veggie options many many awesome looking cajun dishes and burgers and...I'll say it slow this time...haaapppy hourrr. Great place for a birthday (try the birthday cake shot), lunch or a wandering around to the walkable areas around the abode kinda night. :)

Parking is street or valet (vahlaay).

I went here once voluntarily and didn't like anything about it: the atmosphere, the smell, the service, the food--all substandard.

There are so many restaurants around there that I honestly don't know how this place is still in business.

I've been (dragged) back two more times and, including the negatives I listed above, the beer was completely skunky.

It's my next door neighbor's favorite place to eat and they are always asking me to join them.  I went with them several years ago and thought it was OK, but nothing memorable,...didn't care much about going back.

After a few years of them asking me to join them for dinner at Bourbon Street Shrimp, I decided to give it another try and I was really glad I did.

The cajun food is fixed just right. I had fish, chicken and shrimp and they were all excellent.

The menu has expanded a lot since I was last there...plenty of burgers and such. Even if you don't want New Orleans style food, you'll find something you like.

This place also has a really fun atmosphere,  a good beer selection on tap, lots of tv screens and a very friendly and efficient staff.

I can see why my neighbors love BSS so much. Next time I'll be asking them to go there with ME!!

Came here with a coworker on a Sunday for lunch.  Don't remember exactly what the promotions signs outside said, but they were definitely misleading about the burger lunch special somehow... the kind of misleading where you can't read the tiny 10pt font from the sidewalk.. so tricky!!

The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Sunday, which I should have taken as a sign!  I ordered the cajun grilled shrimp and a cup of gumbo.  Considering the shrimp is supposed to be their signature (hint: Bourbon Street SHRIMP), I was fairly disappointed with the tiny, most likely pre-frozen shrimps.  They tasted fine, in terms of seasoning, but very sad quality of shrimp for a shrimp restaurant.  Gumbo was okay, nothing special and it also wasn't very hot when it came out.

Coworker got a burger and fries combo.  I tried a bite of the burger and it was surprisingly quite a bit better than my own order- doesn't make all that much sense to me (maybe I should have read the reviews before coming).

Overall, food is OK but rather pricey. Nothing really stands out and makes me want to come back again, sadly.  Definitely did not fulfill my soul food craving, but I have yet to find a place in west la so far that does.

Who claims to be a new Orleans restaurant and serves frozen "Gordan Fisherman" fried shrimp? What an embarrassment.!  I ordered the fried shrimp, and expected beautiful gulf shrimp and got frozen instead.. So not cool..

They do have PBR on tap but the beer I got served was completely flat when the server brought it out.  Now, don't get me wrong, I understand that there is a serious shortage of true cajun and creole food on the westside, but good lord, you can't throw anything on the menu and call it cajun. Maybe if this restaurant wasn't named Bourbon street shrimp, and was just a run of the mill dive bar, I wouldn't be so hard on them, but as it stands now..  No thank you.

Go here if you want to watch a game (with the volume on the flat screens off for some reason) while music blares, and have flat drinks with your friends..

Needless to say I will not be back.

Came here with my roommate on a Friday (or was it Saturday) night when we saw that the line for another bar was not budging. The prices were reasonable, and the grilled chicken burger that I ordered was yummy! Although the restaurant was pretty empty, I didn't really understand why.

The servers were nice, the venue itself was pretty big and welcoming, and the portion sizes were so large that my roommate and I left believing that we were going to explode. My soda got refilled a zillion times =D

Sit at the booths. SOOOO COMFORTABLE!!

You know a place is in trouble when they upgrade their menu, upgrade their prices, downsize their shrimp, and start charging for bread. Their bread, btw, used to be to die for--until they started charging for it. No longer fresh and fluffy, but a bit shriveled and unpleasant to the taste, kind of like a whole-grain/spelt hybrid that no amount of butter could make bearable, and our party of four agreed that none of us got our 25-cents'-worth on that deal.

And it got worse from there. The blackened shrimp appetizer, which had always been the group favorite for the big, plump, perfectly cooked shrimp that was almost too filling for a mere appetizer, had been reduced to little black things that made the plastic red basket they're traditionally served in seem disproportionately large.

And it got worse from there. Still hungry after the first appetizer we got an order of the crab cake sliders, which our waitress fully endorsed. She probably hadn't tried them recently. The over-fried cornbread disc in a white bun needed every ounce of tartar sauce served on the side, and still nobody finished their portion. The bun, however, was better than their bread.

But the entrees were the last straw. Used to be, when you ordered the fish, you got a fish. Now, you get cheeks. I couldn't believe I was being served what I'd ordered! The lemon dill fish had been "re-imagined" into a plate of vegetables and fish pieces submerged in a dark brown liquid so oversalted that the lemon and dill were completely suffocated. As I sat there with a dripping carrot slice on my fork, trying to drain it of its flavor so as to be able to eat it, my husband said, "Here, have some of my gumbalaya." It was just as bad! The authentic cajun seasoning had been replaced with salt, and the rice was so overcooked it could have been sucked through a straw.

Our friends didn't fair any better. One had ordered a burger, which, despite his declaring a big appetite, remained only half-eaten; and his wife's dish, with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and mysterious looking lumps of seafood and fish smothered in a thick white sauce, was left virtually untouched.

If all you want are good drinks for happy-hour prices, BSS comes through. Otherwise, plan on eating somewhere else. We had to go home in order to have dinner.

Maybe it was a bad day for the cook. Maybe someone never tasted the dish before they sent it out to me. Maybe the salt dispenser fell over and spilled some of the contents in the pot without anyone noticing.

But let me tell you. Do not order the gumbo.

It was so salty & mealy, it was unpalatable. And this is from a girl who really enjoys  salt (ramen, miso soup, soy sauce, chicken, shrimp, etc).  The waitress offered to have the cook make me a different dish, but I had such a sour stomach after eating a few gross bites that I declined.  I didn't want to waste food, so I took it home and put it into compost.

That was probably a better use for their gumbo anyway.

If you're looking for a neighborhood spot to grab a beer, catch a game, and eat some grub, then keep this place in mind.

Bourbon Street Shrimp and Grille was a creole restaurant that seems to have transformed into a sports bar. haha.  The food isn't great, but it's not horrible either.  What I really like about Bourbon Street Shrimp is their daily happy hour, and huge flat-screens throughout the bar/restaurant.  Plus, they play the volume for big games.

Happy hour is everyday!  from 5-8 pm.  even during major sporting events, like Lakers Finals' games.  Happy hour specials include 2-for-1 well drinks, 2-for-1 margaritas (I don't recommend them though...yuck!), $5 Ketel One vodka, $5 Jack Daniel's, $4 house wines, and a $4 appetizer menu.

Apart from the restaurant menu, which features dishes like gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp etoufee, blackened fish/shrimp, poor boys, hush puppies, etc., they also have a bar appetizer menu that has traditional bar food like chicken tenders, calamari, etc.  And for cheap!  A basket of popcorn shrimp is $4, and pretty tasty for what it is.  Plus, almost all entrees are 50% off every Tuesday from 6-8 pm.

Parking kind of sucks though, especially on weekdays before 6 pm because you can't park on the street.  But they do have valet, or there's a public lot a block down across the street.

I called in an order for pickup for myself and my coworkers and the girl taking my order said "No more than 20 minutes. I timed it to the minute so I could tell the valet parking guy I'm just picking up my order.

I take a seat at the bar, with the only other customer sitting a few stools to my left. A man is reluctantly engaged in a conversation with the owner Al. It is full 5 minutes before Al acknowledges my presence, "Can I get you something"? he rudely asks. I tell him I am here for a pickup and he goes right back to his conversation. He doesn't offer to check with the waitress who has walked past me twice getting tables ready for the lunch crowd. Instead he continues to speak of his plans to open a Sushi restaurant nearby. Please Yelpers warn me when this opens so I never have the displeasure of contributing to this man's bank account ever again.

Another 5 minutes go by and the waitress finally comes to me and puts down a coaster and I tell her "No I am here for a pickup. 15 minutes later I am finally walking back to my car with my order and the valet parking guy gives me a scowl, I lift my hands in surrender and tell him that it was supposed to be ready when I got there.

Alright now to the food, We ordered the Jambalaya with shrimp $13, Chicken Po Boy $7.95, a side of Jambalaya $3.50, and order of Fried Okra $4.95 and an order of Onion Rings $5.50 .

The portion size of okra was huge, enough for 2 or 3 people. It had a traditional corn meal batter and was very tasty. The onion rings were also killer, a light beer batter that went well with the slight sweetness of the onions. The blackened chicken sandwich was alright, the Cajun sauce that it was doused with was overbearing and was about the size of a twinkie. The Jambalaya tasted like it came from can, it had a hint of heat and smokey flavor and not much else going on.

My opinion of this place is though it has good appetizers it fails on delivering memorable signature dishes. Being a Cajun restaurant, this should be represented an order of Jambalaya and a Po Boy sandwich. I might of been up to giving another chance if the service wasn't so lacking and the owner wasn't so rude. 2 stars only because the okra and onion rings were good.

Every time I come to Bourbon Street....I always have really high hopes. I love Cajun food/Southern food and there's really not that many places on the westside. They're slowly popping up...but for the most part, there's not that many of them.

Now I've only been here for lunch, so my view is a little skewed by not having been here for happy hour or dinner which a few of my friends have said isn't a bad deal. I mean, how do you screw up happy hour, really?

I've had the creole and jambalaya before. The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I probably could throw down better jambalaya. If you're gonna name yourself Bourbon street....you gotta deliver. The hushpuppies were pretty yum and a bit spicy (which is good) - I will give them that. Where this place loses points is the service. The wait time from the wait staff to get to our table a take order, get the drinks and bring the food takes forever.

Now hear me out reader, I think that this place has so much potential. Good location. Parking isn't terrible. As a matter of fact, everytime I come here, I find parking fairly easily. Maybe because the restaurant isn't very full. College, mall and theatre close by! There's real potential here to be able to do some serious business. First thing is first - I think they need to make the staff more efficient. And in practically every review on yelp - that's the number one problem. Then if they jazzed up the menu a bit - have some classics and then do somethings outside the box, I think this place would be fun.

I don't give one-star reviews lightly. I realize that these establishments are the livelihood of not only the owners but of the staff as well, and any disparaging words I say may equate to lost revenue. However, when in the face of such horrendous service, I have to do what I have to do.

It was a Sunday after a ridiculously debaucherous evening and I was in full recovery mode, having spent the morning swimming in bed lapsing between cross-faded moments of clarity and unconsciousness. Suddenly I woke up with a shot... it was like I was a character in that old Atari arcade game "Gauntlet" and my health was low.

    "Wizard needs food badly."

I wanted something hearty but not too heavy, flavorful but not too rich, food with good volume and mass but without a lot of chewing necessary, since I didn't have much energy to do that.

Bourbon Street Shrimp seemed to fit the bill.

We arrived just shortly before 1pm. The place has a really nice atmosphere about it. A New Orleans feel, replete with accessories and little touches to bring the theme home. A nice sized bar is on one end, with tables and really comfortable booths lining the other side. Flat screen televisions were peppered around the place showing sports games.

When we were there, there were 3 people at the bar, and only 4 of the tables had customers seated on them.

Our waitress was nice enough, but from the moment we were seated our experience went downhill. Fast.

We ordered a coke, a ginger ale, popcorn chicken and a side of fries as an appetizer. For entrees I ordered chicken in an alfredo sauce over rice and S ordered some shrimp dish over rice. Our waitress repeated our order, and stated that our appetizers would come out first as starters.

    Fair enough.

Many minutes later a ginger ale arrived at our table.

Where's my drink? After a few more minutes, we found our waitress (who disappeared somewhere) and asked for my drink, and also for the bread that's supposed to be complimentary and one of the staples of this place.

My drink finally arrived a few minutes later. Still no bread.

Our main entrees arrived. No appetizers, and still no bread. The food I ordered was tasty, but I was a bit soured from the experience. Oh well. I'm not one to fuss, so I began to enjoy my meal.

Many minutes later, bread arrives. Undercooked bread. Not so tasty. Oh well... I break it up into little pieces and have it suck up all the alfredo sauce from my plate. Still tasty.

Our fries arrive many minutes later. We're almost done eating.

Our drinks have been empty for awhile, and we have to flag down our waitress for a refill, and for more bread. Oh, and where's our popcorn chicken?

    "It's coming right out sweetie!"

Even many more minutes later, another dish arrives. It's popcorn shrimp. We ordered popcorn chicken. Where's our waitress? Oh damn, she disappeared again.

We find her minutes later and tell her we got the wrong order. The popcorn shrimp goes away.

Many minutes later, we are thoroughly dissatisfied and ready to leave, and as we ask for our check, our popcorn chicken arrives.

    Thanks.

Mind you, there were only 3 people at the bar, and for the whole duration that we were in the restaurant, only 4 other tables had customers, all of which seemed to also be irked from horrible service.

    Sorry guys... one star.

I live near this restaurant and had always wanted to try it out because of the eye-catching store front. So I decided to go with a friend who also lives nearby so we could both say we've dined here before.

For Cajun-style food I've had much better. I think the selling points of the restaurant are the flat-screen HD TVs which are good for watching sports and the happy hour where select appetizers are 4 dollars. Also, I think on Monday and Tuesdays the entrees are half off which makes the food more worth the value.

I ordered the fried calamari during happy hour and it was fine. The sauce they give you is alright. My friend ordered the chicken tacos and I ordered the Steak Po' Boy. However, when I went at about 7pm, Rick (our waiter) told me they were out of steak. He suggested Chicken instead and I obliged. The Po' Boys come with a side and I chose the sweet corn bread which wasn't very sweet at all but more corny than anything. The Chicken Po' Boy itself wasn't special either, more like a flat bread sandwich. Upon receiving the check, I was disappointed to find that they had charged me for a Steak Po' Boy when I was served a Chicken Po' Boy. Totally not cool.

Bottom line: The service was good, Rick was especially helpful and full of spunk, but the food was mediocre. It's a good place to watch the game and take advantage of happy hour in a convenient locale. But there's way better out there.

Eh.  I didn't eat here, but I was still very underwhelmed.

I guess their happy hour prices are pretty good, with $4 appetizers and 2-4-1 margaritas, but my margarita was seriously sub-par.  In addition, I had requested it without salt, but of course it came with salt, so I didn't even finish it.

Then, to top off a completely mediocre evening, I ask my waitress for change for  $20 bill.  I didn't realize it until after I left, but she gave me 3 $5 bills and 1 $1 bill.  Shorted me $4.  Totally lame.  For that, they get only 1 star.

The term "beer belly" is a misnomer.

That belly actually represents not only beer, but the many greasy appetizers that make the beer so damn good...and necessary.

You know what I'm talking about.

Let's use Bourbon Street's fried shrimp as an example. The fried shrimp here are a great snack, with excellent dipping sauces to choose from, even if they go a little heavy on the batter.

Heavy breading = More beer necessary to wash it down = Beer belly

(Math was never my best subject).

This place doesn't deserve any stars but I had to in order to write my review.

The owner Watson tried to give my friend and I flat beer even though he knew. He said try the beer see if that is flat. ... Is that a joke? He is the owner.....

It gets worse. If you have to go to this F-ing place, don't talk to the owner.  The food was terrible. You could probably find better food in the corner 7-11. The service was slooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. We had to ask for our bill 3 times to get out of that place. Before I left, I told the owner "Never coming back"....

    This place is terrible.

How many of you people championing this place and claiming to be from Louisiana work at Bourbon Street? Seriously. Either that or maybe you had enough drinks to blur the fact that this food is awful.

I'm not Cajun, but I was born and grew up in far East Texas and have had better Cajun scraped out of the bottom of a scorched sauce pot. Blah.

    Snob card will be played.

I'm 100% cajun and this place makes me angry.  Sure the food sucks, but that's OK considering nobody really does Cajun food very well outside of Louisiana or South Texas.

What got me was the annoying-ass waitress that wanted to be...needed to be... the center of attention.  LAME.

I came here to eat and converse with friends.  I didn't come here to eat crappy food and have annoying service.

Don't half step.  Go to Babe's and Ricky's Inn on Monday nights to get some down home legit cooking (though not Cajun).

This place is like Chilis meets a cajun joint - it's part sports bar, part cajun food, dark and a little smelly - so don't expect a family-friendly or romantic atmosphere! I went there on a Friday night and it was pretty full, but they only had 2 servers waiting on tables. Our waitress was way too young to be working in a bar, was unattentive, and asked me for my ID when I ordered a beer, even though I am *clearly* over 21! She was a bit over-cautious.

My dad and I got two po'boys (blackened meat sandwiches) with fries. I got blackened chicken, and he got blackened fish. It was decent. In my opinion, not blackened enough, and definitely not spicy enough. If I come back, I'll order the shrimp or jumbalaya, which seem to be getting good reviews.

Overall, I think it's mediocre, but then again, I haven't tried the more "traditional" cajun dishes, so I'll report back when I do.

I asked the bartender (who was also the server) for a Shiraz, she looked in the bourbon/whiskey section and said she didn't have any...with that said go here with an open mind, and an open-minded thirst. After then ordering a Jack & Ginger (at least this label is prominent) I quickly warmed up to this bar. There appears to be local regulars (always a good sign) and the bar girls are very nice; they included me in on their shots after only 10 minutes of being there!
Come dinner time my companion and I sat down to some decent food, at decent prices. The service was whatevs- but did you read my first sentence? I recommend this place for the bar alone, and its also a great place to get some din-din before your movie at the Westside Pavilion- Holler!

The place is busy during weekday lunch hours and there's only one gal taking everyone's order. Yeah, she was pretty busy.

You can watch CNN on the big screens on the walls.

I ordered the Gumbolaya (Jumbalaya topped with Gumbo) and sliced blackened chicken. It was served with rice in a big ol' plate. It had the right amount of heat without causing a fire. I was still sweating and I loved it.

Next time I'm going to order some Corn Bread.

What? They ain't got no Sweet Tea??!!

    Damn.

I hadn't been here for a while, but was there on Saturday night. The food and service were good. I was surprised that it wasn't crowded on a Saturday night , only a couple other tables full although there were people at the bar. I would think it would be busier since the new Landmark theater opened up.

I think it would be harder to find more reasonable prices. Entree with two sides for $10, lower priced items also (sandwiches, etc) . A nice casual place to get some food , they have an assortment of different menu items.

They also now have a full bar and karaoke I think Wed-Sun (8pm-11pm) but not sure.   Also happy hour specials as well.
This place should get more business...so go get liquored up and then see a movie at The Landmark steps away..

Having never been to New Orleans, but with a love of what I thought was Cajun food, I was a regular frequenter of this place for quite some time. I always enjoyed the blackened chicken and the jambalaya, had an unnatural obsession for the bread, and happily got tipsy here once a month.

Now that I'm older and a tiny bit wiser, I realize that the food is not all that great. If you are craving Cajun, it will probably fit your needs, but it's not the best around.

The best thing here was my Diet Coke with a slice of lemon.

WTF? The service was horrible. The food was served cold. The food didn't taste too good either. Bread was served after the entrees came out. It was pretty dead inside so they don't have any excuse as to why the service was so bad except they just suck. Will I ever go back? Hell no!

    This place was gross.

Great spot for some Louisiana cuisine. Although its location (next to Westside Pavilion) is a bit strange for a 'Bourbon Street' restaurant-- the atmosphere and food are pretty good.

I've had the jambalaya (very spicy) and their blackened catfish a couple of times-- I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. Additionally, they offer drink specials between 5-7 every night -- 2 for one martini's and they rock (lots of fruit flavors!).

I think they may also offer a half-price Tuesday night dinner if you arrive early as well. The owner of the place bartends frequently and he makes sure that your experience goes well.

The plasma and tvs don't hurt either. Parking in the neighborhood is never a problem. Good times...

Not even my high cholesterol can stop me from a good shrimp shack.

Bourbon street has happy hour specials on Tuesday ... that means 1/2 off their entrees.  I've had their gumbo and jambalaya, both were moderately spicy and served with a side of butta-ed bread.  But the restaurant will give you a choice as to the degree of spiciness.

I had sausage with one of these dishes, I forget which one.  The portions are perfect for one ... so you won't leave feeling stuffed like an animal.  Overall?  Decent.

I came here on a weekday lunch, it was empty.  I came here for Sunday lunch, it was somewhat busy.  I came here on a Tuesday night, it was packed.  Go figure.

    Even voids can fill.

Greasy appetizers at a decent price. Large bar and dining area that both hang countless TVs. When I am lamping off PICO and need a place to watch a game, this is the ONLY place that I have found. It is right off the street near the Westside Pavillion and you can valet for a few ducats.

I go here for afternoon and early eve. beer and sports with my droogs a few times a year. Bourban Street is like my bizarro hang out. I come here when I do not want to hang out. When I do not care to be anywhere, when I am trying to avoid most things in LA.

B street is not a nightlife spot by any means; it is usually a dull roar, but I emerge feeling full off shrimp, beer, and baseball, and ready to return to my life. In fact, I just realized, this might be one of the only places I even drink beer! Go here when you do not want to go anywhere, it will not let you down.
