One time a friend and I went to meet someone at this place. The someone was ordering a beer and grabbed a table. When my friend and I got there, the staff refused to let us sit at the table with our friend because we didn't plan on eating anything. They were absolutely rude and turned me off completely from the place.
Review Source:First time at Bunny's last night. 'Pre-Function' for Son Volt at SOPAC. Terrible traffic had me late for the meet-up and I finally arrived in a bad mood. Asked for a Vodka & Tonic to take off the edge. Waiter asked if I wanted any particular vodka... 'Nah, shit-vodka's fine' I told him. Downed it quickly and the waiter was back in a flash. 'Another shit-vodka and tonic sir?' he asked with a smile. Gotta like a server like that! He was super-polite, efficient and fast. We ordered two pizzas, one plain, one white. Both were good. Also had the 'Garlic Salad' which was dressed nicely and had a strong garlic taste with greens, cheese, pepperocini  and red onion. Since I was running late, I didn't check the beer menu. Next time. Out the back door, it's a one minute walk to SOPAC. I'll be BAC! Four Stars based on decent, solid bar food and an excellent waiter.
Review Source:without a doubt the worst of the few bars that are in south orange. there was a table of about 5 of us and it took over 15 minutes for us to get a pitcher delivered to our table. not only that but by the time it came it was already pretty warm and flat. Â It is terrible beer coupled with terrible service.
Review Source:A bar with great potential, held back completely by its paranoid, miserable owner. I actually usually enjoy Bunny's restaurant, but the key to my enjoyment is the absence of Bunny, the rude, inconsiderate owner. Â I went to this bar on Saturday night with a group of friends from Seton Hall University. Â I was welcomed at the door by a frantic looking Bunny, dressed in her typical dress with her breasts too revealed and shoved into her neck, making her look more like a brothel maiden than a bar owner. Â I am from out of state, so I have always been required to supply a back-up ID at every bar I have been to out of my home state of Massachusetts, which I completely understand. Â What I do not understand, is supplying Bunny with six IDs, two confirming my age, the four others confirming my identity, yet I was still rudely told to leave the bar immediately, because of her personal incompetence about how to check an ID. Â I personally do not drive; it is a personal choice, not due to losing my license to a DUI or something of that nature. I possess a state issued ID card, which Bunny frantically dismissed as fake, and as her paranoia has built up since Cryan's closing, she told me to "leave the bar immediately. Â I have never seen this ID and you aren't 21. Â Get out, now." I wouldn't have such a problem if she said, "i am sorry, but I haven't seen this ID before. Â With all the drama going on in this town, I am going to have to ask you to leave until I look up what a MA ID looks like," or something to that extent - something polite. I have had NO trouble before this getting into the bar with other, trained doormen, but her absolutely rude and unnecessary response, even though I am clearly 21, as confirmed by a man she later called over due to my disagreement with her, makes my give this bar a rating of 1 star. Â She hates students, is convinced we all possess fake IDs, and discriminates against out of state students because she is absolutely clueless. Â The other man who helped her confirm that I am actually 21 told me I could come in, but I took my IDs and told them there was absolutely no way I would ever go to her bar again, and told them both there were other places run by better people I would much rather spend my money at. Â Instead of being a proper owner and caring about her business and customers, as I exited, Bunny's co-worker made a snide remark and said "well, whatever man. Have fun in Massachusetts." Â What a joke of a bar. Â Inconsiderate people, an unwelcoming atmosphere, and an incompetent owner. I am 100% certain that other out of state students have had similar experiences, and I would recommend all SHU students to steer clear.
Review Source:Really great happy hour. From 4 to 5 weeknights there are $8 pitchers and free pizza. Otherwise, the food is kinda overpriced and nothing spectacular. But everyone who works there is really nice and it's in a convenient location near tons of parking and the train station, so it's worthwhile to have a few drinks here if you're in the area.
Review Source:Bunny's is the local we-don't-want-to-cook neighborhood place.
It's got some solid dishes & pizza, music is generally playing, I was groovin in my seat, the bar is in the front, and tables in the back, TV screens on every wall showing every game.
The homemade raviolis are good as is the pizza, and some pasta specials.
Note during cold weather: don't sit near the back door, it gets used as often as the the front door, brrr.
Oh and Ms. Pacman for the kids!
Just ordered from here. Â Awful chewy, dry Wings, $11 garlic salad, $12 Philly cheese steak. Â Bottom line is I would never, ever order from here again. Â The wings are awful, the garlic salad is just plain odd... Â And the cheesesteak? Well I have no idea as they didn't give it to us.... Â Paid $12 and got nothing. Â I'm too annoyed to call and go all the way back. Â Don't bother with this place I'd you like actual good food ....
Review Source:As far as fun, young atmosphere, this place is great! Just down the road from Seton Hall U and around the corner from the S.O. train station, the location is pretty darn good.
I've been here a few times with my girl for just a beer and to watch sports for an hour as I was waiting for reservations at a nearby restaurant. I really do like the plain pizza here which we picked up just today; nice thin crust and good, flavorful sauce.
As for the beer, I like IPAs so I usually drink Dogfish Head if a bar carries it, which not many do, but Bunny's had a pretty good selection of others, i.e., Sierra Nevada, and a few others which I can't recall at this time. I opted for one that I hadn't tasted, Hoptical Illusion by Blue Point Brewing Company out of NY (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbeeradvocate.com%2Fbeer%2Fprofile%2F764%2F20168&s=88db23b152223e3aa0388c7cec01296baca43844a5a9d4bc98e90d25d1b543bc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://beeradvocate.com/…</a>). I liked the bitterness.
I'll come back and review more if I ever eat a meal there.
Bar pies are the best I've ever had. It's a college town and gets a lot of kids that age, but I think they jacked up their prices a little bit to try and keep the broke college kids away. This only upsets the locals that have been coming to bunny's since they were children, expecting to pay less for what we know bunny's as, a towny dive bar. They completely changed the interior and expanded the bar area. Great for watching the game since now they have something like, 17 televisions. Despite the changes, the owner still personally greets every person who walks in, and will end up being your best friend before you leave. She also makes sure nobody at the bar curses loud enough for the children who are in the restaurant area, to hear. You can tell they are trying to keep the family-friendly atmosphere while also allowing the younger crowd to go nuts watching the games at the bar.
Review Source:I'm sure it's a good place to watch the game or to hang out and eat but I had the pizza here on numerous occasions and I wasn't impressed. I've gotten delivery most times so this is really about the pizza. Also its probably the worst cold pizza you will ever have so eat it while it's still hot.
Review Source:We had ordered pizza-to-go from here a few days ago but now we figured we'd give a try and expand a bit more with actually eating there. We definitely were not disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the bar is a decent size and the food is fantastic. My wife had the eggplant parm with penne and got a huge helping of both. I had a calzone that was bigger than my head, but was so good that I tried to finish it. It's got that neighborhood-spot type feel and really is a good, relaxing place to grab some dinner. Love all the TV's around the room. Being a sports-nut I was able to catch quite a few at once which made me very happy (bonus points for this). The prices are more than reasonable and you definitely get more than you paid for, both in taste and in portion. We'll be back many times again.
Review Source:This really is the bar where everybody knows your name. I rarely have occasion to go in, but the bartender knows my name, and I don't even know his.
People rave about the food. I find it barely passable, but I'm not complaining. I think the prices are just fine. What are people complaining about? It's a neighborhood hangout. The atmosphere is just what you need if you want a family meal outside of home.
My roommates and I went here for dinner. I was a bit hesitant to go here because of the high price range. This place is only about $$$ I would say.
We ordered a whole pizza to share. The pizza was fresh and good. The cheese was melty. Nothing amazing but satisfying. I wish I could remember the name of the pizza though.
The big problem of this place was the service. At several times, I had to get up and find the waitress. One time, she was sitting at the bar chatting with a friend when I asked for my bill. She also never disclosed that refills were charged.
The ambiance was okay. We had a guy play that deer hunter shooting game during our dinner. It was a slow night.
The terrace area look pretty neat. I would sit out there for dinner if we ever come back for dinner.
Typically, my kids and I enjoy Bunny's, but, that said, their service for kids is pretty bad. Here are some tips for you, if you go there with kids age 8 or under
1) Make sure that the appetizer order is placed before you order meals. If you order them at the same time, they will come out at the same time.
2) Explicitly request that they do not bring out the kid's meals until they bring out the other meals. On several occasions, my kids have been finished eating before they brought me my food. Not fun. You are more likely to have this problem if you order pizza and the kid's order from the kids menu.
Other than that, the atmosphere is very friendly for families, and the pizza is tasty.
This place has been a neighbood staple for years and I'm still trying to figure out why???? Â I gave it 2 stars because they finally renovated the space, but truthfully, they should have started with the food. Â Mediocre at best, lousy service, not a terribly friendly crowd, and it's too pricey for what it is. Â Walk up the block to the Trattoria or just go someplace else.
Review Source:This pizza is hands-down the best pizza I've eaten in my life. It's actually the only reason I go there. But if you're looking for the best pizza you'll have in your life, go to Bunny's.
It's so thin-crusted and delicious. I just can't describe the emotions that go through my body when I eat it.
I can't speak to any of the other food. Get the pizza.
Prices reasonable.
I went there on New Years Eve in 2010 and the bar was a lot wider, and longer and seats about 30 patrons. There are about 20 flat screen TV's and there are leather benches for people sit down and dine, and once in a while they'll have a indie band and a DJ in the back of the Restaurant.
This is a place for all sports fans but mainly if you are a fan of the New Jersey Devils because if you can't get a ticket or go to the game at the Rock this is your place to chill and root on your team.
The food is great, and the atmosphere is absolute heaven.
OK .. they are up and running from their renovations and better than ever .... Really missed the pizza and garlic salad so that is the first thing I ordered. For those of you who complained about what a "dive" it was you will be pleasantly surprised as it has been updated very nicely. It is now a sports bar so they have a ton of TVs and a system that has every channel known to man .... For me I will miss the old "dive" but I am just happy to have them back!
Review Source:The garlic salad is fantastic. Â The bar pies are great. Â The beers are cheap. Â I have fond memories of going to Bunny's with my parents when I was a kid. Â I love the dive-bar feel of the place. Â Unfortunately, the crowd is not great...a lot of jerks. Â Yes, it's a bar...drunks are to be expected, but not the type who are loud, drooly, handsy and make a lady feel uncomfortable. Â Another major downside is the questionable fashion of the owner (extremely low-cut tops, with boobage spilling out all over the place). Â Her look is extremely unappetizing, but what can you do?
