This is unfortunate because I want neighborhood places to succeed. Â But they gotta figure out how to cook food here. Â Kind of important in the restaurant biz. Blood raw is not medium rare. Â The burger my fellow diner had was so undercooked you could see pink on the outside of the burger. Â It was literally gushing blood. I had the salmon sandwich. Â I bit into it and noticed it was very cool so I thought I may have bitten into a part where the salmon had fallen onto the plate. Â I then took another bite and after chewing thoroughly, realized I was chewing cool, still raw fish. Â Now I like sushi, but at a sushi restaurant where the raw salmon is top grade. Â Not at a burger place where fish needs to be cooked for a reason. Â Highly disturbing experience and unacceptable. The staff remade the food, but the damage was done. Â The cooks need to up their standards ASAP. Â "Make it nice, or make it twice" is not just a silly phrase. Please do better. Â Notably, the regular fries and sweet potato fries were quite good.
Review Source:As soon as I heard a new beer and burger joint had popped up in the OP area, I knew I needed to get out to try it. Â My first mistake was to show up at on a Saturday during the Big 12 tournament - the place was packed, so we decided to save it for another day. Â We went on Sunday for lunch instead and had no problem getting a spot. Â First impressions of this place are that it is tiny...definitely not a place that has a lot of extra space. Â The food menu seems to have the average amount of bar food items - but it was the beer menu that was most disappointing. Â I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with cajun fries.
Positives:
-Decent food, but really nothing that stands out.
Negatives:
-For a place that seems to push the idea it's a craft brew and burger place, the beer menu is pretty disappointing and rather spendy.
-Small interior, with a limited amount of seating.
-A little tough to find, it's kind of tucked back on 76th St.
-"Cajun" fries were utterly forgettable and weirdly tasteless
Overall, this was a disappointing trip. Â The food shows promise, but they really need to mix up their menu a bit to distinguish themselves from many of the other beer and burger places in town. Â And please, expand your craft beer selections. Â Having multiple Boulevard brews on tap doesn't make you a "craft brew" bar. Â That's not a knock on Boulevard, but most of their beers are available at every bar/restaurant in the metro.
