I'm a little surprised by some of the bad reviews. We love going to this place for breakfast! I think their pancakes are amazing and I usually get the New Mexico Skillet, but with regular sausage. (Not a chorizo fan) Their freshley squeezed orange juice is very good as well. If you haven't had breakfast here you should definitely give this place a try. As for the service, I can't say that I can recall a time when I was unhappy with it. I think this place is great and the food is delicious!!!
Review Source:I'm a wheaton north sider, but I've ventured to Butterfield's a few times, and honestly, it's nothing special.
I'm not a big juice guy, and apparently that is a money maker for this place. Oh well.
The Menu is fairly diverse. I ordered an egg beater omelette with some veggies, and well as a side of the multigrain cakes. Food was probably 4 star, to be honest.
The thing that has hurt butterfields in my most recent visits is the poor service. I try to be as nice as I can to servers, they have a very tough job. But not checking on a table for 5 minutes at a time... come on!
The restaurant is actually very nice inside as well.
I could see myself visiting again, but I think there are much better options closer to my neck of the woods. Red Apple in Carol Stream and Egglectic in Downtown Wheaton are my picks!
I always get excited about pancakes when the word "pancake" appears in the name of the restaurant and I am seldom disappointed. Unfortunately today my excitement was wasted.
The selection was good. The service was good. The food arrived very quickly after ordering and was very tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my omelet and there was plenty of it. The only disappointing thing about the meal was the pancakes. They were dry and tasted like the batter hadn't been mixed thoroughly. It was a bummer.
The orange juice is good, but I don't think it is worth the $3.50 for a 12 oz glass.
That is all.
