I'm sad to say that I will never dine here again. Â My family and I always came to eat here because the staff was friendly and the food was good. Â A few months ago, my 4 year old daughter ordered the peaches and cottage cheese. Â She ate some and complained that she didn't like it. Â After tasting it, the peaches were spoiled and the cottage cheese tasted bad. Â They offered to give her something else for the same price, but did not apologize, even after notifying the manager. Â
I recently gave them another whirl. Â I do understand that dates get overlooked and it was probably a mistake. Â This time, there was a young woman, sitting in a both with her computer. Â We stood in the front for about 5 minutes before she acknowledged that were were waiting to be seated. Â She just waved her hand in the air and said, "where ever you you". Â Didn't look up at all. Â That was odd. Â Usually there is an older man or woman in the front that welcomes you and seats you with menus.
We sat in the back and I guess was out of sight. Â After a while, we flagged the waitress down to get a cup of coffee and menu. Â The coffee creamer came out like cottage cheese. Â The waitress said that she would bring "fresh cream and a new cup of coffee". Â The next bowl of little creamers were the same - turned into cheese. Â We ordered chilaquiles with chicken. Â Our order came with no chicken and the wrong sauce. Â The waitress said that we can tell the lady in the front and she'll take off the price of ONE cup of coffee. Â Why not both since we didn't drink it?
When we got to the cash register, she said how was everything. Â We said not good. Â She asked why and we told her. She appeared to be irritated by us and was unapologetic. Â We paid full price for everything, she didn't remove the charge for coffee.
I'm non-confrontational and hardly ever make an up-roar at the scene. Â I notify the manager about the issues and if we can't come to solution somewhere in the middle, I simply never go back. Â I am truly sad about this place. Â I used to go all the time when it was under different ownership and will now look for a new place to go.
I just tried this little spot on the corner or Fullerton and Central this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. I am a fan of Golden Nugget, but my bf is not, so we tried this place. I will start with my only complaint and that is that I wanted breakfast, (we went around 9pm on a Sat.) and although they serve it all day, I was not given a breakfast menu.
Now, for the good stuff. I ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad Wrap which was served with a large bowl of Cream of Broccoli Soup and french fries.
The soup was really good and homemade (I think). The wrap was large and TASTY! I was not able to finish all of the soup or my wrap because I was too full, but it made for great leftovers the next day.
The woman who waited on us was very nice and made sure we never had to ask for water, which is important to me when I dine out. My bf had  a steak torta and said he enjoyed it. The prices were good and the serving sizes were good too. This was a great little spot that is family owned and everything is homemade and cooked on site, as we were told.
Wow! Â I do not know what has happened here over the last 6 months, but what a dramatic downfall. Â Took my family here for a Sunday dinner today, and literally everything was terrible! Â I ordered the meat loaf and mashed potato dinner. Â The 'meatloaf' was more like a formed patty of bread crumbs with gravy on top. Â My mashed potatoes and corn were both literally ice cold, like they took them out of the fridge and forgot to warm them up. Â The rest of our meal was pretty much the same story. Â What used to be a nice mom & pop diner, has become a nightmare of frozen, reheated, reconstituted, roach coach food. Â Talk about driving a restaurant into the ground! Â YUK!!!!
