This was our second visit, although it had been a few years.  The food was good and we thought reasonably priced for downtown. We had our sons, 4 and 9, with us and they enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well.

After inquiring as to where my sister and mom wanted to eat before we went to Yuletide Celebration, my mom enthusiastically declared she wanted to eat here so she could "watch the game."  And watch it she did because they sat us right in front of a gigantic big screen.  The menu here is typical of American bar-type food but they offer a lot of options.  Not a lot of vegetarian friendly options, but plenty to choose from nonetheless.  For a game day, there weren't overly crowded but service was a tad slow, especially near the end of the meal.  We started with chips and salsa.  Chips reminded me of Chili's but the salsa was chunky and flavorful.  My sister and I both ordered the BBQ Chicken Chop Salad, mine without the chicken.  I liked the dressing and the drizzling of BBQ sauce on the salad was a different yet delicious touch.  My mom had the waffle fries and a turkey wrap.  I feel like someone at your table MUST order the waffle fries when at Champps.  Back in the good old days, the Keystone Champps really played up the waffle fries like they were something special so now it just seems like the right thing to do.  Nostalgia, if you will.  We also had the white sangria.  While good, I usually think of sangria and imagine an abundance of floating fruit in my glass.  Instead, I got a single cherry and an overpowering flavor of oranges and pineapple.  For $8.  Kind of pricey.  In the end, it was a decent meal but not the best I have ever consumed.

More than just a sports bar,  We like every thing about this place. The service was very good. The food had good flavor, came out in a timely fashion. I had fish and my wife had coconut shrimp and both were very well done. The tv's were all on different sports events which made for a nice atmosphere. Good $$ value for what we got.

This place is a fairly standard with American-fare, drinks, and lots of televisions to watch sports.  The food is generally good quality, and so if you want a safe place for potentially picky-eaters, this could be a good option.  Otherwise, the place isn't very exciting considering the other options in Downtown Indy.

As the Northside tends to have more chain restaurants and less local options, I tend to be more willing to visit the Northside location if I'm having to meet people on the Northside of Indy.  With it's decent beer list and food, the place is fairly competitive when my preferred restaurants and bars are no longer an option.  If I'm downtown, though, I tend to only go to this place when I'm with a group of people that I'm worried won't be open to more interesting options.

The patio is a pretty great spot for people-watching, particularly since you get a nice view of the Conrad: this is probably one of the best things about this place.  I have generally had great service.  Occasionally I have had to avoid guys from out-of-town who thought they might be able to pick up a local girl at this bar; it's been fun to get stories from other girls with similar experiences and so there is definitely some entertainment value.

Came here for the Big 10 championship game for some pre game and I thought the whole city was filled with badgers fans until I found out that this was a designated badgers bar! I had a fun time here ... Grated this is not the typical experience you will get at this bar ... But even with it being packed the service was great, a lot of beer options, and the appetizers were very good. I will be going back in dec 2012 when the badgers are back in the big 10 title game!!

Came in for drinks during the MotoGP weekend after getting dinner at a nearby steakhouse. The drinks were a little pricey, but the service from the bartenders was very good considering how busy they were.

Came here because I was hungry while briefly in Indianapolis. Drinks were good food was good. Waaaaay to damn overpriced. I asked the bartender if they had any specialty drink she said no its whatever you want. I than asked if it was happy hour. She replied they didn't have a happy hour. I paid for 3 drinks and a appetizer trio. Total bill came out to aprox. $44.00. You can go to Buffalo Wild Wings for the same experience and save %50. I would not come back...the juice was not worth the squeeze!

My family ended up here for my dad's birthday dinner after finding out that Rock Bottom no longer serves their full menu after 10pm on Sunday (which is way lame).  The waitress at Rock Bottom let us know that Champps across the street serves their full menu until midnight when they close, so that was where we went.  This restaurant/bar would be really great when the weather sucks, as it's inside the mall - just park in the basement and take the escalator right on up!  All of us got veggie burgers - two of the mushroom swiss variety, and two of the bruschetta.  They were good, but nothing spectacular.  I always get excited when places make their own veggie burgers, but these were definitely purchased.  The waffle fries that came with the burgers were delicious though.
The best part of my meal was probably my margarita.  I'm not a huge fan of sweet/sour mix margaritas, so I had our waiter ask if that's what the house margarita was made with - turns out it was a mix, but it was a house made mix that only has lemon juice, lime juice and simple syrup in it.  It was tasty and inexpensive!  Overall, this is a good place if you need a full menu late at night, but otherwise I think I would just come back here to have a drink and watch a game on one of the many, many giant TV's.  The service was excellent; their menu just isn't really geared towards vegetarians.

I was in Indy for a conference.  One evening we decided to take a walk that became longer than expected.  We decided to eat before heading back to the hotel.  This restaurant was recommended to us by some passers-by.  Everything was decent until the food arrived.  One person in my group found the food prep wrapping still in her dish.  I'm sure this only happens once in a blue moon but why us, on this weekend, on this night? Needless to say dinner was a wash. The paper in the food overpowered the meal and just two days later, I can't remember what I had.  I guess it was just your average restaurant with a less than average meal.  However, I do remember the the Black Cherry Long Island.  A lot of black cherry and very little long island....lol.  Granted I'm sure these servers were exhausted.  My fraternity's 100 year celebration was the week before, there were at least 4 huge conferences and events this weekend, but still no excuse for the lack luster service and environment.

This past weekend, I was in Indiana for the Centennial Celebration of my fraternity. I had the opportunity to eat at a few places. Champps was one of them. I know this is a chain restaurant that I have access to near me, but I've never been interested in going there until this weekend.

Our waitress was really friendly (and cute), but she wasn't very helpful with providing suggestions. I ordered the salmon. It was pretty good. I was tired of chicken sandwiches, and had a taste for seafood. There were plenty of TVs in this spot, all with different sports games on, so it catered to sports watchers of all tastes. My frat brothers and I decided against appetizers in order to save room for dessert. I got the apple crumb with cinnamon ice cream. The ice cream had traces of ice in it like it had been frozen for too long or on an extreme temperature.

Overall, my entree was good and hit the spot. I could have done without dessert.

The service at this champp's location was great :) I ordered the bourbon salmon dish and ate the whole plateful. The salmon itself was delicious (the sauce was perfect!) but the mashed potatoes were a tad too firm. Tasty nonetheless :)

I had the Reuben with a salad and my friend had the cheeseburger with steak cut fries. Both were good but not great, though I suppose that is to be expected at a sports bar. My salad was a chopped up iceberg lettuce with shredded carrot concoction and. though it wasn't interesting, it was fresh and crunchy. The steak cut fries were nummy and hot, if a little too salty.

We were seated at a giant table, clearly on a server sectional rotation, and the hostess seemed really caught off guard when I asked for a smaller booth, but, after a moment's recovery, she nodded and politely obliged. I'm glad, too, as it was warmer in the booth.

In all, a pleasant but not outstanding experience.

Service ? We were seated immediately on a Friday night which was nice. Once seated, our drink order took forever to come out. Our bland meal was served to us, yet we had no silverware or napkins. I'm usually a highly generous tipper, but not tonight. They were fairly busy, but understaffed. Wouldn't return.

This sports bar chain is an easy place to grab a bite to eat in a casual atmosphere.  The food is the typical burger, chicken sandwich, salad set you would expect from a sports bar.  I had balsamic chicken breasts with mashed potatoes which were great and filling.  I think this is the type of place you can be guaranteed to leave full and have a fine experience, but it's nothing to write home about.  The service was pretty crummy when I went too, but to my waiters defense, he had way too many tables under his belt.

This review is strictly for the bar.   We did not order food.  We were in town for the Final Four so it was busy.  The drinks are moderately priced.  The service could use some work.  There are a lot of big events downtown, so they should be prepared for this size crowd.  I would bet during a nornal day it is a little better.

Ate here twice while on vacay in Indy, and loved it.  We do have Champp's in MI, but none near where I live and I love the sports bar/good food combo.  Anyway, I had a salmon BBQ salmon salad that was AWESOME.  Service was perfect both times, and we could watch various games while eating.  I don't think my husband could ask for more in a restaurant, LOL.  Highly recommend.

I ate here while in Indy and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this chain. I had the best Patty Melt I have ever had. It was huge and was sandwiched between two thick slices of grilled rye. Seasoned fries on the side and a cold beer to drink and it was the perfect meal.

Champps is one of the better sports themed restaurant/bar combos in downtown Indy.  Located in the circle center mall right beneath the arts garden, its got a great location that you cant miss when you're strolling around downtown.

The food is great, everything from huge salads, to sandwiches, burgers, pastas, entrees, even a reserved steak menu.  Reasonably priced and huge portions are what make this place worth a try.

The place is packed with TV's and they play virtually every sporting event you can think of at any given time.  Its great during march madness or any sunday if you wanna catch an NFL game.  The waitstaff is friendly and hospitable and some really make the experience that much better.

The bar is a little bit overpriced in my opinion and if you're looking to do some heavy drinking theres definitly cheaper places to do it downtown.  They have over 40 beers on tap so the selection is great.  Its worth a try if you like sports bar/restaurants and large portions.

Best sit down american chain in the area! I haven't had anything here that was bad except maybe the wait at times. The portions are big for what you get, but full of great american goodness. A great place to grab some food or brew while you're shopping in the mall. Best of all, they're open late! Perfect for game nights. Many of times I made the 40-45 min trip from Bloomington to come here!

The new menu is great.  I love the club sandwich!  The BBQ is pretty good as well.  The drink prices are pretty good as well.

I generally hate chains and have been to Champps before, but not this location.  Its in a great location and close to the RCA Dome, right in the heart of downtown Indy.  It was a good atmosphere for post game partying after the Chargers eliminated the Colts from the playoffs!  The Beers were reasonably priced and the potato skins very good.

The food is alright but I will tell you I love going to watch Colts games at this place.  The staff is cool, reasonably priced food and drinks, it is located inside of Circle Centre mall, and it is steps away from where all my friends tailgate before the games!  Win win situation.
