This is the 3rd Chinese delivery place I have ordered from in my neighborhood!!! Â This place is by far the best out of all of them. Â The crab Rangoon is yummy, it's not the sweet kind, you can taste the onion and garlic. Â Don't order the fried crab sticks it is not crab it's white fish. Â Every thing else had great flavor . Â There chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp were just that I knew what I was eating. Â You know at some of those Chinese restaurants its a mystery as to what kind of meat it is.
Review Source:Good food but is it worth the price?
Six dollars for beef fried rice? It's the best place I know in the neighborhood. Preparation of food and delivery is fast and the delivery guys always pleasant. I say this because I know people who are very tight for tips.
It's small and has a couple of chairs but it is by no means a restaurant to sit down and enjoy a good meal. When you're there, stop next-door and check out the Italian bakery/delicatessen.
This place is what it is. It is worth a stop but certainly not a destination restaurant.
The orange chicken tastes a bit like ketchup with sweet and sour sauce topped with an abundance of red pepper flakes. The chicken fried rice smells overly like fish.. taste isn't terrible but I hope you like the smell of fish and/or have a stuffy nose while eating it. Â I ordered 2 lunch specials (the cheapest version) of the orange chicken but they charged me for 2 lunch combos and they charged me twice for delivery?
Sorry China King.. but I don't think I'll be back or recommend you to anyone I know.
My fiance and i ordered dinner last night after just moving to the neighborhood  and let me tell you it was amazing one of the best Chinese places Ive had food from. Their Mongolian beef and general Tso chicken were perfect. and the egg-rolls we crispy yet soft in just the right way. We had enough for left overs which is always good when you find just the right place. we will definitely be making china king our main Chinese restaurant.
Review Source:I love SEAFOOD! Â China king is my favorite chinese restaurant for seafood in the neighborhood. I am a Philipino and I love their great selection. Their salt and pepper calamari and fish fillet with veggies are yummy. Also, this is the only
Place where you can find smelt and mussels in the area. Our family has been coming here for years. Â Highly recommended.
The food was OK and service was nothing to complain about .. but there were flies EVERYWHERE! Â You would think a restaurant would care about such sanitation but I guess they don't. Â And yes, I still ate the food because, honestly, flies don't bother me. Â And I would probably go again if I'm around because it's cheap and I've certainly experienced worst living near the city. Â Just a simple heads up. Â I would give an extra star because the orange chicken was tasty but ...no. Go see for yourself.
Review Source:This is a great local restaurant for Chinese food. Â My family and I order from here every time we get Chinese. Â It is by far the best Chinese food in the area, and we've certainly tried a lot of Chinese restaurants over the years!
Service is great, and the employees are always super nice and super helpful. Â They messed up our carryout order once (just one time out of the many times we've ordered), and when we phoned to let them know, they sent someone to deliver the corrected item (plus some extra food) free of charge and very quickly.
Food has always been delicious. Â You really can't go wrong. Â My favorites are the BBQ pork fried rice, sesame chicken, and General Tso's chicken. Â Definitely give this place a chance!
Do keep in mind that this is more of a takeout and delivery place than a sit down restaurant. Â Seating inside is extremely limited.
We've lived in the are for 9 years and order exclusively from China King. Â They're the only Chinese restaurant in the area that doesn't use MSG, so right off the bat, that gets our vote! Â (Seriously, do a little research on MSG - that stuff is HORRIBLE!!!)
We've never had a bad dish from here. Â Not once. Â The only complaint I've ever heard is from my fiance' who says that the spicy dishes aren't spicy enough. Â Then again, he can eat a habanero pepper without flinching so maybe he's just some freak of nature.
For those complaining about soggy eggrolls/rangoon...... when you put a crispy hot item in a bag (ie for delivery) it will build up steam and turn ANY crispy food into mush. Â It's basic first grade science - hot food creates steam. Â Steam increases the humidity in an enclosed area (ie your bag or takeout container.) Â Humidity causes things to wilt. Â No matter WHERE you order from, if you have your food delivered and it's in an enclosed container, the steam will make it wilt. Â There are 2 options - either pick it up and eat it there, or ask them not to seal your bag.... in which case your egg roll will be crispy, but your food will be cold. Â
Great food, amazing prices, overly-generous portions, awesome selection, and lightning quick delivery. Â Highly recommended!
I am a fan of the takeout. Best deal around for less than seven bucks you can get orange chicken, chicken fried rice, an eggroll, and a can of pop. Delivered! And the portions are enough for two lunches! If your office goes in together, they throw in a crab rangoon for each order.
As far as flavor goes, they rate high on a fast food scale. I can do China King about every other week. Give it a try!
It's not the best Chinese food, but it's damn good for delivery! Â Since I moved into the area, I've ordered from them 3 times. Â Delivery has been quick and the food was hot. Â The egg rolls aren't as crispy as I like them, but they were decent. Â I really disliked the vegetable fried rice, but love their chicken fried rice. Â The Empress Chicken could be spicier and crispier but it was still tasty. Â The Pork Lo-Mein was a decent dish. Â By far, the best dish I've had so far was their General Tso chicken.
Review Source:I used yelp reviewers to order delivery from this place--- and apparently, I didn't get what they were having. I chose by fellow yelper  recommendations. This is what I got.
Crab rangoon: Not golden, but paper bag brown. 90% empty. Â 8% wonton- super fried but super chewy?!?! Â I didn't know that could exist. Oh yeah. And a 2% smear that wanted to be the creamy filling. Â On the first one, i figured- oh hey. Maybe they ran out of the mixture. Â But then I opened a 2nd. 3rd. 4th. Â All near empty with a smear of cream cheese, some green herbs. Was there crab? I dont know.
Egg roll: one end of my egg roll was black. Enough said.
Shrimp fried rice. Good amount of shrimp in it. Except the shrimp was undercooked and tasted like paste or mush. uhh..... kinda inedible. Â I didn't think fried rice was hard to make.... *hint* judge a chinese food joint by their ability to make fried rice.
Shrimp egg foo young. The one saving grace. Â Didn't taste great, but... it didn't taste bad either. Â Sauce? super brown, thick, coagulated... kinda fecal-looking.... The outside was charred black and crispy though. The inside? Similar.. I have no clue if the shrimp were cooked well either. Â But... at least I didn't have the mash potato texture from em.
Oh. Â I guess if you wanted to count it, maybe the white rice was the star. Â But I'm filipino. So... Â white rice doesn't exactly impress me.
Again I had it delivered. They said 40 minutes. They took an hour. After I attempted, Â I cooked up a TV dinner. These guys made TV dinners taste great.
Never again. Never. Again.
This is hands down the best chinese restaurant in the area. I usually order everything on Grubhub, but I always order chinese by the phone from this place. It's that much better. I enjoy the shrimp egg foo yung and the crab rangoon is excellent. A large crab rangoon will last you a while and even tastes great cold out of the fridge. There really is no substitute in this area.
I just wanted to add that I have eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants from China Town to Colorado and this is really one of the best I have ever had.
Nice little Chinese dive. Had the spicy sesame chicken, very good and tasty. The egg rolls and crab rangoon are the real deal as well. Good fried rice with the right amount of soy and not too greasy. Not fancy, just a little take out joint. The lunch specials are cheap and they have to staple the container shut to hold all of the MSG Chinese goodness inside the Styrofoam container. Just a good place to go when you want some good and fast Chinese fare.
Review Source:This place is great! Â I always get my take out from China King. Â The portions are large and the price is right. Â The other day I ordered a couple of egg rolls and some won ton soup. Â The container of soup was enough for two people. Â Also, the restaurant is very clean. Â I recommend it highly.
Review Source:Ever since Lin's Garden at Milwaukee and Devon closed down, I have been without a decent Chinese place. Finally, my luck has changed and I have found a place to fill my Chinese food void. China King is fast, tasty, and inexpensive. What more can you ask for? The smoothies are excellent too. I would keep going back just for those alone.
Review Source:I had lunch here today, after reading the other reviews i decided to try it. I agree with what others have yelped, the lunch specials are great! I had the mongolian beef, in the menu it is shown as a spicy item but i asked if they could make it non spicy and they agreed. It was excellent, a great dish! i can't wait to have it again.
For $3.50 you can get a large portion plus steamed white rice, a fortune cookie and a can of pop. Add a dollar and you get fried rice, and an egg roll as well. I have a pretty healthy appetite and i couldn't finish the whole thing. I ordered a strawberry smoothie with tapioca as well, i wasnt impressed--China town smoothies are better.
while i've only had one dish from here, i can say that that one dish was delicious and i cant wait to try the rest of the menu.
This is not an eat-in place--unless you want to fight for the one small table by the door. Go here for lunch! ^_~
Ok, after reading the reviews here, I decided to stop by and pick up some lunch today.
Wow. Â What a deal I got. Â Orange chicken, chicken fried rice, egg roll, fortune cookie and a can of coke all for $4.90 including tax. Â I couldn't even finish half off the chicken and rice so now I have leftovers for tomorrow. Â
Granted, I work 7 minutes away from here, but when I got to the office, the food was still screaming hot i had to wait a few minutes. Â Everything was so fresh. Â And an added bonus, they do not use MSG (which I am allergic to). Â
I will definitely be back to try some of the other lunch specials and maybe next time I'll make room for one of their fruit smoothies.
Mmmmmmmmmm.....mouthwateringly good fresh Chinese food. Â My favorite is the Szechwan Shrimp, with the right combination of vegetables, shrimp, and spiciness. Â They also have tapioca smoothies (avocado, mango, papaya, watermelon, kiwi, strawberry, honey dew, cantalope, and banana...hungry yet?), which is the reason I ever ordered from them in the first place. Â (OOOOOOOhhhhh, so good!!!) Â The delivery driver is super nice, which makes them even better.
