My co-workers and I headed to this place on a Tuesday night. Â I had read previous reviews about long wait-times and let me say, they aren't lying. Â We arrived a little before 7 and were told the wait would be about and hour and 10 minutes. Â I timed it because I am weird and do stuff like that. Â We ended up waiting around an hour - thank goodness their were delicious drinks at the bar to keep us occupied. Â The people watching was good, too.
Paella - it was Paella night and we sat directly in front of the Paella chef as we waited for our table. Â I couldn't take it anymore and I asked if I could have a taste. Â He said yes, thankfully, and it was truly a moment of bliss. Â The rice was soft and flavorful, my bite of chicken was tender, and the chunk of sausage was spicy. Â I couldn't wait to order an entire plateful of it. Â Of course, they ran out when we finally got seated - lame. Â But, that one bite got me. Â Heaven.
Alligator Ribs - whenever someone says, "it tastes like chicken," I feel that it never does. Â In this case, it did. Â They were tasty, but I would save room for something else (perhaps something listed below).
Fish Tacos - the waiter said my fish taco order was "boring," but I thought they were quite lovely. Â The fish was tender and juicy; the taco as a whole was just awesome. Â I added some Siracha sauce to give it a little kick. Â I really liked these tacos - simple and fun.
Chocolate Pretzel Pie - I was not aware something like this existed. Â Now I am sad that I know about it because any thought of a diet is going straight out the window. Â The choco-pretzel pie is just that: a pretzel crust with a creamy chocolate filling. Â It was quite rich, and it made me clench my teeth together like when something is very sweet. Â After that first bite, I was hooked. Â I've been looking up recipes for this pie all week. Â I need it.
I really, really loved this place. Â I am for sure going back, but maybe at a weird hour, so I don't have to wait so long for a table. Â YUMMMMMMMM!!!
Fantastic crab cake. Â I'm from Baltimore and it's one of the best that I've ever had in my life. Â Reasonable deal to get it on the salad, but not much else stands out since it's just lettuce and dressing. Â They could even add basic items like nuts, cranberries or something that would add more complexity to the salad. Â Then again, the subtle spice, lump crab meat and the right amount of breading will make you forget about other pieces of the meal. Â Good vibe on the water overlooking the boats. Â A bit more low key than restaurants on the strip by the beach. Â Overall, a nice spot if you are in the area.
