Connie's Pizza

Being a lifetime Chicagoan I honestly to this day do not understand the big deal about Connie's Pizza it is mediocre pizza at best!  There is way better tasting pizza such as Giordano's (Deep Dish), Home Run Inn or Uno.  The location is nice and there is plenty of parking the inside is very touristy which might be why it's a big deal it's more of a tourist/out of towners attraction.  If you've never been here before it wouldn't hurt to try once but I have no desire to go back especially with so many better options near by.

Be careful here.  Most positive reviews are actually responses to reviews that have been posted that are negative.  When you read phrases like: "I don't care what anybody says, the pizza at Connie's is the best," or "I've been going to Connie's for years & never have never had [sic] had a problem . . . Sonya M."  The lady doth protest too much, methinks.  Who, but a member of the owner's family, would begin a "positive" review with "I've been going to Connie's for years & never have never had [sic] a problem."

I love the pizza but the wait was a little much. We got a table right away but we had to wait for quite a while before the pizza was cooked and brought out. They suggested that next time we order ahead...interesting concept. Order ahead for food that you're planning to eat there. I do love the pizza but they clearly need more cooks or cooking space if they can't accommodate the demand.

That being said, I enjoyed the waiters who were wonderful, the food tasted great and it was a very nice atmosphere.
