I came here a few weeks ago with a few close people on a Saturday night, and it was kind of packed. The service was great and I wish I remembered the girl that assisted us the whole night, because she was a huge help! The hookah had an excellent flavor and for around $25, it entertained the four of us. Great music and a great ambience, everyone was having a great time. (2 hookahs)
Next time I am around the area (and i am occasionally), I am returning. Thank you for the awesome night, Eden!

Eden Garden I get... bar & grill?  It's not a steakhouse, but okay.

Last time we went they told us they only sell apple hookah aheads (after we ordered and received our hookah of course, not ahead of time)... oh, and it costs $5 extra.  It's like buying a car and randomly it comes with the premium wheels because that's all that was available AND you still get charged extra for it.

    Doesn't really make sense.

Food is good, hookah is good, ambience is good.  But nothing is great.

As for the guy singing in Arabic and the music blasting through cheap speakers... I get it, it's very Middle East, just tune it down a few decibels.

It's a good place to try, you might just not hear your company... Or bring ear plugs?

Luv luv this place very romantic, great hookah worth the price.  at first i was a little skeptical the waiter was rude at seating us but he opened up after awhile.   Pasadena law for  smoking hookah after 7 pm is a fn joke to me but ok.... i live on the westside where hookah with your lunch is amazing .  My bf is arabic and big on taste of hookah and this is one of his faves for hookah .  Eden is very clean love the patio seating.   I had a great time hookah and tea.  i will try the food next time.   thanks guys

They only serve apple head hookah, which is 5 dollars more than regular head.
There is always live music, a man singing in Arabic while playing his keyboard. It's honestly very loud an unpleasant, especially when you can't hear the person sitting across from you.
The food is great, no complaints there.
I believe this location was previously a church, so the windows am brick walls still remain and are very pretty.
Service is lacking, and they only have Al Faker flavors (for all you avid hookah smokers).

Overall, not my go-to place for hookah but the food is great!

Great atmosphere.  Great staff. With the exception of the stuffed grape leaves, my meal was tasty.

    Pros:
Yummy food, creamy hummus, chicken shawerma is delicious as is the crunchy falafel, lamb skewer was tasty. Nice presentation on the entrees.
    Service was basically good.
Patio is beautiful, great ambience.  Eating there is very pleasant.
    Friendly staff
Be sure to take a look at the "chapel."  It's a beautiful room.

    Cons:
Not for me but for wait staff--they have to walk a long way and up steps from the kitchen to the upper patio.
Smoking on the patio after 7 p.m.
    Parking cost $5.  Ouch.
There were a couple small issues with the service.
    Filet mignon skewer was overcooked.
Didn't care for the free appetizer olives, but others would probably like them.

I like the restaurant a lot and will be back.

Has anyone ever done business here?  We want to, but the owner doesn't return emails, doesn't show up for meetings... always get everything in writing, I suppose.  This is one strange town, hard to know who you can trust.

Came here for lunch this afternoon with my husband for the 1st time. We were seated in the outdoor patio (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#FFN8AgkyLNggJmCZBetrkg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#JSljE7peNs2x9rHJYlB1Lw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) which was beautiful and a lovely day to be sitting outside (There is a covering).

    This is what we ordered:

Pita Bread & pickled vegetables - Complementary and served to us after we ordered our meal. Standard, but was nice that the pita bread was nice and warm.

Turkish Coffee- (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#kTPRmmZ7J0TpIHOwBilMDA">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#IHZAXobgvv5yIIXULbcyAw">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) Very strong and bold flavor. Our server (Mario) told us that traditionally people drink this as is w/o adding sugar and that is exactly how my husband drank it and wouldn't drink it any other way (I did not have any because I am not a fan of strong coffee).

Falafel Sandwich- (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) You can choose to have this with either a salad, zesty fries or hummus. I picked the fries, but to be honestly, it didn't taste any different from regular fries (it was a very generous portion that I received). But I still liked eating it (I don't eat fries too often so I really do enjoy eating them when I do). Anyways, the falafel was wonderful. Our server told us that they make it fresh here and actually grind down the garbanzo beans and such and make the mini balls themselves. I loved that this was served with chopped tomatoes cilantro and some kind of light sauce. I would order this dish again.

Lamb Shank- (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/eden-garden-bar-and-grill-pasadena?select=3bYIKvHZmKHpxke_qQ34ng#VHQcAtH0LxtMW8R1C1yeHg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) You can choose to have this with either a salad or rice and my husband decided to get the salad. The salad was a bit too overly dressed. If I ordered a salad here, I would ask for the dressing on the side. But anyways, I liked that the salad had slices of radishes in it and cucumbers to make it quite refreshing. Anyways, the lamb was incredibly fall off the bone tender. Our server told us that it was slow roasted 8 hours ago and it was fantastic! We were surprised that the portion of the lamb was pretty big and thought they were just going to bring us just a little piece (especially for $12, that's a very good price).

    Total damage= $27.67 (including tax & tip)

Service was very friendly and attentive. Mario checked on us from time to time, w/o being intrusive. He was telling us about Friday and Saturday nights at the restaurant how they have a great belly dancer type of show and music (the belly dancers are both inside and outside, so no matter where you sit, you will get to see them and they may even interact with you and dance with you at your own table). He said that tonight and tomorrow they are booked and so if we want to come back for dinner sometime, we would need to make reservations. Since the food was just so amazing and the service was beyond expectation, we will be coming back for dinner sometime for sure.

By the way, parking is available right in front of the restaurant (on Holly) but is all metered parking (2 hour and 4 hour). There is also a parking structure nearby (across from the Metro station). But we ended up parking on Raymond for the free street parking and walked over (not a long walk at all and good to get some cardio in).

This is by far a hidden gem in Pasadena!!!  Beautiful banquet/private room, and good food too!!

I spent months researching a place to celebrate my spouse's surprise birthday bash in Pasadena.  I looked high and low.  I started with banquet rooms thinking  it would be the most economical way to go.  After running a tally on table and linen rental estimates, I went back to the drawing board.  Next on the list, researching restaurant venues.  I quickly learned Pasadena restaurants are way over my financial means.  Luckily, I stumbled upon  an intriguing  review on Yelp which references Eden Garden's private room and the excellent service received from Shawn, the General Manager (aka Hisham), and Edward, the restaurant owner.

Chiavari chairs, white table linens, in what used to be a chapel?  I had to go check that out in person.  To my amazement, they were not exaggerating.   The room is  enchanting.  The salon/abby  can seat 120, has its own adjoining bar zone, small dancing area (depends on your event size), a Dj nook,  their own bathrooms, separate entrance, not to mention the unique architecture.   They even cut the cake without a cake cutting fee, and they let me bring my own wine  (reasonable corkage fee).  Who does that?!  The restaurant's resident belly dancer even stopped by to perform for the guests....gratis!!  And all very tastefully done.  My guests really got into it dancing with her.  She was definitely one of the highlights of the evening.

What really sealed the deal for me was Sean's exceptional customer service.  Frankly, he was the catalyst of my final decision.  After the initial meeting, I wanted to give him all my business, and wouldn't you too if someone was willing to work within the constraints of your budget limitations?    I dropped by on him so many times before my event, I felt guilty.  Each time he welcomed me with kindness and much patience.   Shawn is without exaggeration, "GM extraordinaire".  He assuaged  all my fears with his attentiveness, responsiveness and willingness to make it work for all involved.   He helped me with all the minutia ...from choosing the menu, down to table placement.  This guy is a class act all the way.

My event unfolded smoothly and I credit their entire staff, with honorable mentions to Leo, one of the waiters,  and most undoubtedly Shawn.  They are all friendly, accommodating, and hard, hard working people.  Immediately before and during the day of the event,  the whole staff stepped up to the plate.  At one point, I requested a foggy mirror be cleaned and it was done immediately and without hesitation.    Eden's support was palpable, and the reason I was compelled to share my personal experience.

I plan on being back and give this deserving establishment all of my future business.

Edward, I congratulate you for selecting an outstanding staff!  Bravo!

In my opinion, these 3 reviews mirror my experience.

My first time there on Saturday night and I have to say I don't understand the negative reviews!! The staff was so great. We couldn't get a table outside at first but they accommodated us last minute inside until a table opened up outside and then moved us. They didn't complain or look annoyed they were all very professional. The ambience was great, the food and hookah even better! They have a set menu on Saturday nights which I didn't like at first but once I saw how much food we got it was totally worth it. Ill definitely be back soon!

We came here a while ago... and I forgot to write a review so here it is. We walked in here on a sunday afternoon dressed up for a wedding photo session. The park was being utilized for a military function so we headed to the nearest bar. Don't judge! we came to this hole in the wall and was shocked to see the cute brunch decor and the elegance and class of the staff. Too bad it was empty. This review is mainly on the facility and staff. They had a wonderfully stocked bar that very much mellowed us from our frantic long morning. Glenlivet on the rocks, steak and eggs with pickled veggies. Couldn't complain about the food but would have to try again for another review.

I LOVE Eden Garden in Glendora. I live in Pasadena and drive 30 minutes to Glendora because this Eden Garden SUCKS.

    It's hard to believe they're owned by the same people, and here's why;

    - The hookahs are dirty. Taste disgusting. They use the old style charcoal and get your hookah started with the charcoals in the middle of the bowl so it's already burning by the time it gets to you, ruining the hookah completely. They UPSELL apple heads on every hookah whether you want it or not.  I ordered a regular hookah and specifically told them NO APPLE HEAD. They brought me an apple head anyway, and then had the nerve to give me attitude when I mentioned it after they charged me extra on my bill. What. The. Fuck.

    - Service is horrible. I literally came in for just a hookah and tea before work, and our waitress didn't greet us for 10-15minutes. Took another 10-15min to bring tea, and then was nowhere to be found when I needed my check. I'm not a pushy person, but if I'm literally sitting around for 30minutes looking for my server and asking other employees where she is so I can give her my money and get the hell out, that's a bad sign.

Again, I love Eden Garden in Glendora, I will drive any day of the week for good service and a clean hookah, but this place is a disgrace to the Eden Gardena chain.

Amazing!  That's the word that everyone kept repeating about the family event we celebrated at Eden this past Saturday.   We had a surprise birthday party for my aunt.  Her husband, a former food and beverage manager at Marriott, said it was all beyond his expectations.  My aunt has not stopped raving about it.  The guests have repeatedly told me they loved the party.  As one of the organizers, I couldn't be happier with the location, the food and the service.   It was really quite phenomenal.  I heartily recommend Eden as the venue of choice for any event that you want to stand out in your guests' memory.

First, the ambiance--We had the event in the abbey banquet room which has its own separate entrance.  The guests are greeted with impressive iron gates and ivy covered walls which set the mood for the evening.   The abbey room itself is an old church that has been beautifully repurposed into a banquet room with bar service.  The room retains the majestic cathedral ceilings, wood archways, and stained glass windows of its past.   Beautiful ornate iron chandeliers drop down to meet your eyes as you can't help but gaze up.  Smaller Moroccan pendant chandeliers that dot the alcoves hint at Eden's Mediterranean cuisine.  Walls were a neutral hue and perfectly offset floors the color of California terra cotta.   It is cozy and beautiful when empty.  It was magical when transformed for the party by Eden's very competent staff.  Was I happy with the way it looked for our event?  Definitely.

Second, the food.  What is an event without good food?  Not worth anything, that's my opinion.  So I was somewhat anxious about the food. I didn't need to be so worried.  Our package included four appetizers:  bruschetta served on crostini, fatayer cheese, pita chips with dollops of hummus and olives, and falafel.  While all the appetizers were above par for taste, what stood out were the falafel and the cheese.  The falafel is moist, crunchy, not greasy.  In a word perfect.  I absolutely love their falafel.  I wasn't the only one, as this was the first appetizer that was finished.  The cheese I didn't have... But according to my cousins who have no reason to lie to me, it was to die for.   It's not your run of the mill fried cheese nor is it an eggroll but may look like one to the untrained asian eye.  Apparently it is feta cheese rolled in delicious spices then fried to perfection.  I regret not having tasted one.  Well... Maybe next time.  Dinner consisted of fresh garden greens as the salad starter, a medallion of beef and breast of chicken, side of spring vegetables, and bed of rice pilaf.  My cousins kept going on and on about how tender and tasty the beef was, and how delicious the chicken was.  I myself loved the rice pilaf.   As I looked around the room, every plate in sight was wiped clean.  I couldn't have been happier.

Third, the service--WOW.  Enough said.  Lol.  From the planning to execution, service was flawless.  This was my first big event. My uncle said to put together the biggest and best party I could for my aunt.   Eden's staff helped me do just that.  They worked with me so that I was within budget and still got everything I wanted.  They suggested details that I had not thought of but which gave the event that extra oomph.  For example, they suggested that we should have a server at the door with glasses of wine to serve the guests immediately as they walked in.  I would not have come up with that idea myself.  So many little things that I was thankful to have their expert staff guide me with.  And before I forget, they also directed me to a nice bakery--Vrej Bakery--for my cake when everyone else flaked out one week before the event.  Separate review on that :).

Then the night of the event we had the most amazing servers help us out the entire evening.  Every wine glass remained filled and every guest was promptly served.  Service was always given with a smile.  While there were a couple of misunderstandings about the equipment we were to be provided, Eden quickly resolved them to our satisfaction.  Really, I couldn't ask for more.

We went out on a Friday night with a group of 6 people. We had a table in the back room. Ordered the appetizers family-style dinner. The food was delicious---falafel, sarma, etc. The veggie dish and salads were great! The hookah was just right and hit the spot! The atmosphere was perfect---great middle eastern music along with top american hits. Everyone was there to have a good time. There's a bellydancer too who makes everyone get up and dance. Its just an overall amazing atmosphere. Valet was decent too (waited less than 5 minutes for my car) and its in a cute little neighborhood where you can take a stroll if you want to. The bill was about 50-60 per person (with drinks, hookah, and 2 sides of all the plates). We had leftovers too! The only cons (but I still gave them a 5 because it didn't bother me too much). The service--we waited for our bill for at least 30 minutes. It was hard to catch our waiter (it was a busy night). Music can get loud to the point where you can't really hear each other talk--its more of a dancing atmosphere than a talking one. Starbucks would be a more ideal location for talking. But aside from this, LOVED this place!

The food here isn't bad, but I was not a fan of their pita and hummus.  Both were really bitter with an unpleasant aftertaste.  However, the chicken kebab plate was on point, and Eden's garlic spread is a dupe for Zankou's, which I definitely appreciated.

Beautiful Ambiance; Nice, lush outdoor patio w/mood lighting, great bar and dance floor inside; the perfect place for a date, or a fun night out with your best group of buds!

The food is pretty good! On Fridays and Saturdays, they have a set menu; $35 for cornucopia of appetizers, kabobs, and rice, which is very reasonable and worth the buck! They have Chkoufteh! My favorite, and somewhat hard to find!! (Mediterranean Beef tartar). On the weekends they also have a belly dancer and DJ after 10pm.

Their Hookah is really good too! Lasts throughout the night and great flavors! Definitely get reservations though, as this place fills up really quickly on weekends!

Well. I have passed by this place hundreds of times after taking the train. I never thought much of it, until I TRUSTED my fellow yelpers and tried it out for some food + hookah + drinks. Come on guys!!

The hostess and another man who worked there was arguing right when we entered. He was bossing her around and it was completely unprofessional. I should have known right then and there, but I let it go. Then they looked at me suspiciously and asked if I possibly had a reservation..and in fact I did! They had not told me that to get the hookah you had to get the outside reservation so too bad for me. They said they would tell me as soon as a table opened up outside.

Once sat down, the springs of the chair were broken. Whatever. The waiter immediately tried to sell us a $75/person meal. The guy who was arguing with the hostess came by and told him he better mention that $75/person meal...very strange and rude. I replied "no thanks, we don't eat meat!" The drinks we ordered (beer) took about 15 minutes to walk from the bar to us.

    The food..

was delicious. So, no shade to the hardworking guys in the back. However, the service continued to be awful. I told the waiter right when he sat us down that I don't eat meat. I unknowingly ordered a pasta dish that came filled with sausage. I called the waiter back and he looked very upset and said now he would have to pay for the meal out of his own pocket. WTF?! Who says that to a customer! He ALSO said, whatever I now wanted to order better be quick because they're very busy in the kitchen. I told them to bring out appetizers first (is that really a crazy request?) and of course they brought it out with the main entree.

And naturally, they never sat us outside.

Overall, a huge waste of a much anticipated Saturday night of relaxing. Never coming back only because of the service. I can spend my money anywhere else in this city but I chose to support a small business. There are many, many others I can choose from. On a side note, right afterwards we went to Isis to salvage the night (another hookah bar in Pasadena) and had an amazing time. Best hookah, incredible service, and delicious dessert.

I can only review this place on their food, location, and music..not a hookah fan. The only negative about this place is the volume of the music...way too loud!! If you're sitting in the patio then I guess it's tolerable but forget having a conversation while the music is going on if you're seated inside or near the door.

Make sure to make reservations for a larger party at least a week in advance..they fill up pretty quick. The dj is not bad at all..puts a variety of music for all. The food is pretty great. I've never ordered off of their menu..I've been there 3 times with larger parties and we always got their 35 dollars a person set menu. Comes with about 8 cold  appetizers, 2 hot appetizers, main course (rice, kabob, veggies) and soft drink/tea/coffee. Some might say its not worth the 35 dollars because you could probably order your own individually and it would most likely come out cheaper. It just worked well with the larger party. I have to say the waiters I've had were all very good once they're at your table. It's a challenge at times to get his/her attention but it gets crowded so I guess that's why.

Overall, I've had a good time on each occasion (aside from that one time we were seated inside) I would definitely recommend it to all to try at least once and I hear the hookah is awesome. Just make sure to reserve a table outside!

I been to this place a couple times now and finally decided to write a review on them because of their consistency.  Every time i go to eden garden is all about the hoooooooookah.  I've been to a couple different ones and i have to say these guys got some good stuff.  The waiters are attentive on the choarcoals they make sure your hoookahs good.  the last encounter i had with this place was a really windy night so it was a little cold but what can i say?

the food there are pretty good as well, the only complain i have is parking but it isnt really their fault because we are in Pasadena.  I would appreciate some restaurant parking lot i guess.

Their turkish coffee is crazy good with hookah.  But only do it if you are like me who can drink coffee before you sleep because that coffee is strronggg son!

Definitely a nice patio area to enjoy some drinks and hookah, if that's your thing.   The service was horrible due to the long wait time and very hard to get someone's attention that gives a shit. The food was really good but servings were extremely small.  The beef was cooked just right, and it was tender chunks of quality  tasting beef and moist juicy chunks of  chicken.  The bar was too small and they are suuuuuuper slow.   Important to note that I was there for a Xmas banquet and there were two other large parties as well, but that's an excuse.  They need to become more organized.   The boss was definitely not happy with the whole set up.

Aw yiss. The trifecta of a great hookah place: hummus, hookah, and alcohol. And that is why this place is called Eden - because a lot of hookah places shy away from either the food or the alcohol. But not Eden. They said "we don't want your square rules man" and none of them square rules did they have, man.

They have a full bar. And beers. If you get a Guinness it comes in the bottle but they give you a chilled glass so it's passable.

The hookah flavors are the standard apple etc. Cherry was the one flavor that stuck out so cherry it was. It was not very strong cherry but overall it was smooth and tasty, just like Joe Camel always had promised when I was younger.

The menu hits all the high points, it was a toss-up between the kebab-ery or other things. We had previously decided on a place in Hollywood with substantially the same menu and atmosphere but pussyfooted around it being an hour drive from the hotel and this place was a lot closer and cheaper. So with the restaurant substitution I felt like I also had to make a plate shift from my lamb kebab I was going to get at Xai, to the chicken shwarma that I got here. I am glad I made the shift because this dinner was amazing. If this chicken shwarma was a potato then it would be a nice potato.

Chicken: huge portion. Well seasoned. Delicious. Tender. Ohsogood.
Greenery: yep, should probably see at least one vegetable on this weeklong trip to the LA area. And I finally did.
Hummus: deeeeeeeelicious. Rivaling one of the best hummus' I have ever had in Colorado Springs at Jerusalem Heart. This was a much smaller portion but it was delicious and looked inviting.
Warm pita: warm and good, no complaints.

The coal guy came around replacing coals at a good interval. The waiter had let our finished first round sit for a few minutes before seeing about another round which was not the best service ever but of course, not the worst like waiting until we were ready to leave to ask if we wanted another round.

The worst thing you can say about the place is that the projection screen outside was stuck on "DirecTV" logo all night, for whatever reason it was not working to show anything else. So no tv or anything. But they have badass light-up waterfalls next to the table if you eat outside so it is all good. Between the Guinness, the deliciously amazing chicken shwarma, and the hookah there are enough other things to do than the boob tube.

If you want hookah, good food, and alcohol all in one place then this is your best bet.

I came on a Saturday night and this place is crazzzy!! Valet parking. Loud music, hookah smoke in your eyes, and people dressed to the nines. I think I just fell into the Mediterranean without actually getting on a plane. I'm so underdressed. I came as a plus one for a birthday party and when I stepped through the door I had a feeling this was no joke. This place is nice, me thinks this was a church converted into a restaurant.

::Warning, warning:: the chocolate raisins on the table are olives!! The watermelon slices are NOT watermelon slices, those are pickled carrots. You have been warned. Damn dim lighting.

They brought the cold sides out first. I blinked and there had to be seven small plates surrounding me. Ranging from hummus to pita bread to salad. Full already! Next came meat croquettes and falafels. I tried the meat croquettes and they reminded me of potato balls from Portos's. OMG!!! Did they just bring out another platter of food?!?! Cubed chicken and filet mignon! Ahhh with grilled veggies and rice!! I personally wasn't too fond of the hot and cold sides but dude! The meat, rice, veggie platter blew this place to a 4 star rating. Meat was juicy! I just went food comatose. Oh snap..a belly dancer just cruised by.

Looking for romantic? Don't come here on a Saturday night! I can't stop blinking. Contacts and hookah are not a good combo. Thank God the food was great. I'm coming back..with glasses on.

    + Great food
    + Amazing service
    + Great prices
    + Friendly staff

My girlfriend and I wanted to get some good Mediterranean food and she suggested we try Eden Garden.  We went in at 3pm and the gentleman (Edwin Moriarty) at the front desk said that they were close because they were in transition from lunch to dinner.  The gentleman was well dressed and VERY courteous.  He told us if we could wait a minute while he checked with the cooks to see if we could order.  He was able to get us seated, then proceeded to take our drink and dinner order.

Since I used to work in the food industry, I understand that he did not have to go out of his way to accommodate us.  But the fact that he did, will make me sing his praises and promote this restaurant.

It's service and attitude like this that is not usually found.  I would DEFINATELY recommend this place to anyone who wants excellent service and delicious Mediterranean food.

    Thanks Edward .. we'll be back !

Not sure if this was a fluke or what due to the other great yelp reviews but here was my experience for my party of 3.

    1.  Service was among the worst I've ever had.  We initially ordered hummus and a veggie tray.  Got the hummus in 5 minutes which was fine, and the veggie tray 40 minutes later after asking for it twice.  In fact, any time we wanted any service at all, we literally had to get up and go find someone, who would tell us to sit back down and that someone else will come see us shortly.  Out of the 5 times we had to do this, that "someone else" only ended up coming twice.  Every other time we had to get another person's attention by waving our arms around, etc.

    2.  List of things ordered but never received:  1 beer, 2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer

    3.  The music was way too loud.  I get atmosphere, ambiance, and belly dancing performances.  Great.  Fine.  But 20 minutes into our arrival, the music seemed to be getting louder every 5 minutes.  It got to the point that we were literally screaming at each other just to have conversation at our table.  It got so bad we even gave up talking.

    4.  Here's what we were served:  2 meals, 2 orders of hummus, 1 small veggie tray, 1 appetizer, 4 glasses of wine, 1 hookah.  And the grand total....$200...BEFORE the automatically included 18% gratuity, which of course we were never made aware of.  For a party of 3, this seems a little ridiculous.

$250 for a dinner for 3, rather average food, and despicable service.  I will never go here again, and strongly urge you to do the same.

Totally a fan of this place. Mediterranean food, hookah & tales of a haunting? Love it!

Their Fatayer Cheese app was deee-vine. Their hummus is rich and fresh. Their chicken shawarma (my first time EVER having it...thank you Avengers...haha) was super delicious. The chicken was tender & flavorful (P.S. it comes with hummus, so you may wanna reconsider getting it as an app...but then again, the hummus was THAT good, so you may want a little extra to take home for later). & the prices are just right. I'll definitely be back.

Parking situation is a bit tricky. Free parking at city hall after...ummm...either 5 or 6, I can't remember...sorry! But apparently all of Pasadena knows this, so good luck finding something. There's a parking structure right across for $5 or street parking.

Let me start off by saying the SERVICE it top notch.

I have been to the location in Glendora twice and Pasadena once. Both locations are great. Different vibes though.

Pasadena: younger crowd 20 - mid 30s - DJ on weekend, belly dancers, dance floor.
    Glendora: more family-relaxed low-key atmosphere

I love this place. The food is always fresh, and there is plenty of it.  - I usually go here with a client of mine who is Armenian and vouches for the authenticity of the food.

Hookah is bar none. Last time I was there I had the Orange/Grape, my girlfriend had the Watermelon/Peach, and client had Double Apple. I recommend getting an Apple head if you plan on being there a while( burns much slower) - the hookah is reasonable priced, not like some lounges that want to charge $25 b/c thats all they serve.

I would recommend to anyone who likes Mediterranean food, hookah, and a good time. I'd recommend even if you never had Mediterranean or hookah, Im sure you'll leave a fan.

Apparently they are opening up a new one in Upland on Foothill and Euclid. - Haven't seen it yet.

Mad props to the crew at Eden Garden

Let me first say that I never ate here although I heard good things about their food. I only came here for drinks and hookah.

They have a large outdoor seating area so it's perfect for relaxing and smoking hookah. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We got our drinks quickly. The watermelon hookah was great. The guy came around and changed the charcoal for us often.

I love the service here. I have to make sure to come back and try the food.

Eden's forte seems to be in their Mezze.......Fresh Tabouleh which was  full of fresh, bright, not bitter tasting parsley, bulgar wheat, onions, tomatoes was a good flavor contrast to their creamy  chickpea Hummus and lightly smoky eggplant Babaganouj.  The fried Falafel was stuffed with ground beef and was of generous proportion and tasted of meaty Umami which enriched the Cecchi or Garbanzo bean paste.  The Mezze alone was a meal in itself, but the main course came soon after.

A large platter full of marinated chunks of beef and chicken with cooked rice and steamed veggies came for those of us not over stuffed with the starters.  The grilled chicken was proabably marinated in yoghurt which tenderized and moisturized the chicken, but it strangely had a very bland flavor.   The marinated beef had some meatiness, but was rather tough and very chewy.  Maybe they should have marinated the beef longer to tenderize it.  The rice was heavy and starchy and bland.  My suggestion is for the cooks to use Basmati rice which comes out more nutty in taste and more al dente in texture as well as not being sticky and starchy in the style of the Persian "Polo".   The veggies were over cooked so the broccoli came out soft and mushy.  Unfortunately, this main course did not prove the cooking skills of the kitchen.

To enliven the flavors of the bland meats, I asked for Somagh, or Harrisa which are Middle Eastern condiments, and the waiter looked at me as though he had never heard of them.  So I asked for some kind of chile pepper sauce, and they came back with a crushed pepper sauce which added a hot spicy, acidic counterpoint to wake up some flavors in the chicken and beef.

Eden is truly a mini-sprawl where are are many nook and crannies to dine in so that one has a choice of many environments to choose from.  They even have a "secret" inner sanctum through a nondescript door which opens up to a medium sized chapel which formerly was a mortuary.  For you Harold & Maude  movie fans, this would be a great place to hold a wedding reception using a casket as the center piece.

Eden has a feeling of party central, and so bring a group of friends to enjoy in the merry making.

Meet the only polished up restaurant that serves hookah in the STATE!

I don't think I've been to a Mediterranean restaurant that services hookah that's as great as this place. Service is impeccable and food is probably better than 95% of restaurants I've ever been to. Really.

Hookah, wow, hookah is great! amazing! apple heads are a must.

I go there weekdays for a nice mellow hookah fix or maybe to catch a game on their huge projector screen...and I stuff my face with kabob :), I'll be there weekends with my party people. If you like to dance, take your dancing shoes with you...they have a in house DJ that always sets the mood right with some excitement.

    You wont be disappointed here...trust.

ohhh...and do yourselves a favor and order the bread pudding for dessert, no matter how much you've ate.

I was looking for a Mediterranean place on Monday evening and found Eden on Yelp so I took a chance.

I was impressed by the patio seating and overall decor with Sinatra playing in the background. Great start.

There is no easy way to describe my experience but I will try. The Vegetarian Plate was very delish. Perhaps the best Grapeleaves I have ever had. The 3 meat Cabob Plate was even better. Juicy Filet, Marinated Chicken Chunks and some Lamb that was so tender and tasty I think my date was tired of listening to me ranting  and raving about the food. Just when I thought it wouldn't get any better, Shawn shows up with some Homemade Baclava! I was in Heaven.

The service and food were five star all the way and Shawn made us feel like VIP'S the whole time we were there. Very nice wine list also. I highly recommend this place and it is worth the drive if you are not local. Looking forward to my next visit.

Shawn, thanks again for an enjoyable and memorable evening. Hugo

Was trying to find a nice hookah/restaurant and stumbled across this place on google.

Well we are glad we did!  Where to start?  They were having a private event that ran over into our reservation time but Abraham had us covered at the bar. (Delicious lemon drop!). Both Abraham and our server Miriam were great at keeping us in the loop.

Miriam recommended the watermelon/peach hookah and it was amazing!  Wonderful flavor and lasted forever.

We shared the falafel plate and oh em gee we both agreed it was the best falafel we had ever had!  We're probably going to go grab another today.

I am so happy I found this place it was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing.

    Loved it!

UPDATE:  So I finally ventured outside of my usual falafel order. I tried the burger. Fantastic!!!  Super fresh beef delicious!!!!

As a whole, this restaurant does not deserve a 5.  This is not going to be your average review, so move on to the next if you just want food recommendations or parking instructions.

This 4 is based on the excellent customer service from 1 employee: Mario.
    The drinks were decent
The hookah was excellent (brand new out of the box)

    Circumstance
My friend and I felt thirsty and wanted to hookah as well.  Using my trusty Yelp app...Eden Garden is what I found.  Upon entering, my friend and I noticed there was originally a private party going on in which half of the outside area had already became vacant due to guests having already departed.

The head waiter was adamant that there was no availability and no way he could fit two people in a place that was half empty.  We spoke to the 2 wives who arranged the private party reservation and were given the OK to have the restaurant make room for us by clearing out the empty tables so we could at least have a place to sit.  We had zero intention of being a part of the party nor leeching off of them, merely wanting a table so we could start our own tab of hookah & drinks.

After about 20 minutes of hassle by the headwaiter and the private party guests telling him to back off and let my guest and I have a table, he finally gave in to avoid any additional backlash from the guests.

The next 10 minutes were spent clearing out the tables.  The next 15 minutes, my friend and I sat there waiting for menus...service...anything! (keep in mind, we had already been there for close to 45 minutes).

FINALLY...an employee named Mario came up and asked what was going on.  We told him specifically what happened and that we were completely ignored by the head waiter since the whole situation blew up.  Mario came back with menus, filled our drink orders quickly, fired up the hookah (a new hookah right out of the box btw) and got it to us all in about 10 minutes.

The head waiter came by after-the-fact, when we had already been taken care of (how convenient).  Mario was very professional (you could tell he took his job very seriously and shows a reflection of his work ethic), had great recommendations, took us in as a top priority, and was an overall very personable guy.  I am seriously not sure why he is at Eden, but they should be lucky to have him working there.  This guy could easily work at any Michelin star restaurant around the world.

Eden Management: Some of your waiters need to work on their people skills.

Mario: Like I said, I wouldn't have ever considered returning to Eden without receiving your outstanding customer service.  No one can ever spend their hard-earned money and receive anything less than excellent service.  I will ask for you next time.

Side note: Definitely best of luck to you with your culinary future.

We just had our baby shower at Eden Garden Bar and Grill on Saturday, March 17, 2012.  We can't thank Edward (owner), Sean (GM), Joe (head waiter), and the rest of the staff enough!  Edward is one the nicest, most professional, honest, fair, and warm person you will meet in the industry.  He is so easy to work with and bends over backwards to make his clients happy.  He was able to help us get the linens that we wanted, accomodate our menu requests, book valet service for us (even on last minute notice), and was very attentive and helpful throughout the entire planning process.  He was a breadth of fresh air compared to dealing with our wedding coordinator at the The Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel a year and half ago for our wedding.

Sean the GM was very helpful too and suggested we move our party indoors due to the weather forcast.  He was right and it rained hard and it would have been a bad idea to have our party on the patio as we initially anticipated.  However, the indoor chapel area was probably a great pick either rain or shine.  Our guests loved the dramatic high ceilings and the classy feel of the place.  The patio area would have been more casual.  We had about 100 guests and the chapel area fit us all very comfortably. Several people told us that it was the classiest, nicest, and funnest baby shower they have ever been to and it was almost like a mini-wedding.

We started working with Joe (the head waiter) the night before and he and his staff helped set up the tables.  On our actual event day, he and his staff went above and beyond to help us unload our car and set up the candy and sweets station, the centerpieces, and anything we asked them to help us with, they did it.

On the day of, Edward, the owner, made sure our party went smoothly.  He and his staff were there early and were very attentive to our needs and desires.  He was able to make our event even more beautiful by letting us use his candles on each table and around the premisis.  He even helped us set up the music for our party.  When we were settling the bill and we had a question, he was very fair and honest person to deal with.

Our guests had a great time and enjoyed themselves and we got so many compliments about the food, the decor (location has round event tables and gold chivari chairs for no extra charge), and the venue!  We got so many rave reviews and everyone was asking how we found such a gem for our party!  We highly recommend Eden Garden Bar and Grill for any baby shower, birthday party, anniversary, wedding, special events, or just casual dining.  To sum it up, the owner and managing staff are excellent and easy to work with, the food- delicious, venue -nice, and very fair pricing!

TIP: It is best to meet with Edward or Sean face to face when planning your event instead of doing it over email or via phone.

    -Venue review only-

A friend of mine held an event here the other night, and WOW was it gorgeous.  There are quite a few different areas that connect to a beautiful courtyard, including two bars, a huge dining area and nice sized dance floor/meeting room/whatever you want to do with it because it's so beautiful... room.  Not only was I impressed with the venue, the service was impeccable.  The bartenders were incredibly nice and the waitstaff was uber attentive- even the valet was speedy!

I hope the food's as good as the restaurant looks!

I love this place so much I had my wedding ceremony (outdoor yard) AND reception (indoor restaurant) here. The ambience and decor of the restaurant and courtyard was so nice that I didn't have to spend much on decorations. When I got engaged this was the first place my friend brought me to check out. The place (and food) was so great I was 99% sure that's where I was going to get married.

Long story short, I was Shawn's (manager) nightmare for about 6 months. I called him all hours of the day on his cell (regardless if he was there or not). He did ignore some of my calls, but in all, he's a great guy and he made sure the day of the wedding was nothing less than perfect. Shawn accommodated pretty much everything I asked for. Not a lot of venues can do that.
They were also very affordable, which was great given that we had a tight budget.
We ended up hosting about 110 people in the restaurant. It was a little tight but it was really cozy and laid back. It was perfect.

There were some last minute plan changes from their part which made my planning a little difficult, but with the overall price, quality of food and service, it was worth every penny.

    BOYCOTT!!!!!!!!!

Wifey and I were looking for a place to smoke our own cigars, have a drink and watch the game.

I called in advance to make sure I could smoke a cigar and watch the game.  I was told that I could do so on the patio.  When I arrived I meet the waiter and asked if smoking was ok, he said yes and walked us up to the patio where the TV was located.

I choose a spot with an opening in the patio cover so my smoke could rise up and escape the area so it didn't bother the whole 2 tables that were seated.

When I pulled out a cigar and looked at the waiter to get a final OK, he said "no smoking".  I told him I called ahead and asked if this was OK, then he said "well if nobody complains" I felt that was total BS and didn't need him to do me any favors with all of two tables seated.

We left immediately.  This place needs to get its act together, either you can smoke or you can't. I even CALLED AHEAD TO GET THE OK.

Nice job Eden, P'ing off a customer with cash in hand, in this economy.  To make matters worse is that wifey works around the corner on Walnut and we wanted to make this our after work stop-for-a-drink-and-smoke place.

We'll be checking out Havana House tonight.

We came here mainly to hookah so this review has nothing to do with the food.

The outside patio area is really gorgeous and their ceiling opens up so you can see the night sky. The manager, who is an extremely charming and warm man) greated us and sat us down himself. He also sat at our table for a little while and made friendly conversation.  Our server came and changed our coals, refilled our water, and checked on us frequently without us ever asking. The service is exceptional!

The place fills up pretty quickly, and the ambiance is really nice. The hookah was really smooth, and the coals that they use burn better. They have every flavor tobacco y ou can think of, and they helped recommend some great combinations. We got the apple bowl with watermelon & mint tobacco...it was sooo goood! I had a great experience and the staff really makes you feel like you are a valued customer. I will definitely be back to try the food!
