Somehow, I am the Duke of Emeralds. That really isn't a good thing, because I have only been a few times and wasn't impressed any of those times.

Emeralds Pub is trying it's hardest to be that cool bar on the first floor of a Holiday Inn, unfortunately, it's on the first floor of a Holiday Inn. The bar has changed hands in the past about five times in my lifetime, and I'm only 24, so the location might be a dead spot on Route 22.

Besides the location and what's upstairs, I'm still not impressed with Emeralds. It has become a place where my co-workers and I go to relax after work, but I have never been with friends after 8p.m. You would think that for a bar off of a highway, they would really try to pump some great happy hour prices to have as many people come in after work as possible on their way home. Weirdly, they don't. The prices do not change and honestly, aren't the best for the near-by area.

The entire design of Emeralds Pub really makes me want to remove the word 'Pub' from the name. This isn't a pub at all. Emeralds realistically is a restaurant/bar trying to be swanky and cool. It isn't working. They really need to fix a few things to this place before I decide to come any time other than during happy hour.

The latest in a revolving door of eateries at this motel location, each one worse than the one before it.  Service here is, in keeping with the precedent set by the prior restaurants, ridiculously slow, loaded with attitude and too busy fooling with cellphones and each other to give a damn.  They can't even pour a draft competently.

We both ordered fish and chips; it caught our interest, and is pretty tough to mess up.  I wouldn't swear to it, but what we got may have arrived here as a frozen block.  It was bland, poorly textured and completely lacking in inspiration.

Judging from the crowds, or more specifically, the lack thereof, Emeralds Pub won't be here long.  The steady decline from reasonably good British-Indian (The Elephant & Castle) to bad Tex Mex, and now, worse Irish boggles the imagination regarding the next culinary abomination to open here.

It was ok.  "A" had a soup and a Chicken Sandwich.  Soup was ok and so was the sandwich. "A" removed the chicken from the bread though. I ordered the Fish and chips.  It was ok, a little skimpy on the Chips and I left hungry.   Service was much improved over the last 2 reviews, as our server was there pretty quick and was very nice.  When we first walked in we didn't know what to do as there was no hostess, she eventually came over after we sat down to bring us menus and didn't day a word.    I can say that I wouldn't recommend this place and I wouldn't go back, however I wouldn't tell someone NOT to go here either.
    Potential is there.

This place is really clean. I went there For Thanksgiving, & The stuffing was beyond amazing, The mashed potatoes were fantastic, & had great service. It was beyond clean, everything was neat in order, & had great HD-TV's. I totally recommend it.

I can't even truly give this place two stars, but I will out of the kindness of my heart. As an ex restaurant employee, I am a true believer that the servers and bartenders give a bar a good name. The employees here, at least from my one time experience, made me never want to go here again.

I walked in on a Thursday night with another female friend. There were maybe 3 tables filled and 4 or 5 people at the bar, so I assumed it was going to be an easy, quiet night with attentive service. I was dead wrong.

We sat down at the bar and could see the kitchen and server's station from our spot. One server was staring directly at us, while texting, and then returned to his phone. There was no bartender in sight. The server, then, disappeared into the kitchen. I looked to my left and saw another restaurant employee fiddling with Halloween decorations, but paying us absolutely no mind. At this point, at least 5 minutes had elapsed.

I turned to my friend and stated, "I will give them five more minutes to greet us, and then we're leaving." She agreed, and the same cycle of the server texting and looking at us, but not getting the bartender or anyone for that matter, continued. Needless to say, 5 minutes passed and I grabbed my stuff to go. A simple, "The bartender will be right with you." would have sufficed for me to stay and have a few cocktails. This was not the case and I can promise, I will never give anyone a recommendation to this pub.

We ended up going to Blackthorn, the bar everyone loves to hate, but hey, at least they give great service.

The food was not so good. I could possibly overlook that, but the service was absoloutly horrible. My wife and I went here the sunday after Irene. We had no power and wanted food and alcohol (more alcohol than anything) we went everywhere we could think of and most places had at least a 1.5 hour wait time. All of a sudden i remembered Emeralds. I drive past it often(it is connected to some Hotel/shit hole) we sat down and waited for 10 minutes. No one came to take our order. Now please keep in mind that there were just 4 other tables. Our miserable waitress finally came over and took our drink orders( 2 beers) we waited for another 5 minutes while our beer sat on the bar. we ordered nachos, they come with ground beef and beans. Ours didnt have either. Fine, they fixed that. We ordered burgers, No fries left. we got horrible sweet potato fries instead. Fine, I understand there was hurricane. But dont be so rude. The waitress just seemed miserable. She complained about how slow it was all day and now its busy. Its your job! If you dont like it quit...please quit.
Our overall experiance was horrible. The place seemed alright decor wise. You have to use the hotel lobby bathroom, which was gross. Really gross. I will never go back out of fear of dealing with this waitress again.
Long story short is that I would rather sit in the dark and drink lukewarm beer than stay at this place.
If you go and get a spanish/latina waitress...leave...leave instatnly.
