Very nice folks who work there. And great food. Their mac 'n' cheese is to die for, and I believe they make the best burgers in Atlanta. I also like that they have a non-smoking section up to a certain time.

One of the best bars in Atlanta, in one of the coolest neighborhoods. If your new to the city just hang out at the bar and wait, you'll meet plenty of cool cats, and if you don't just check out the cool crap on the walls while you down your pint!

This place is great. Try the stew and salmon patties.

Just another typical Little 5 Points hipster bar.  Loud, obnoxious, and waitstaff that would rather eat a bowl of thumbtacks than bring you the over priced beer you just ordered.

This is one of my favorite bars in Atlanta.

They have cider, great food and a dartboard!

    Booze:
This isn't a fancy drink kind of place. They have a full bar. The make a delicious vodka cranberry.

    Service:
The place is usually pretty packed, but the bartenders are great about getting you served. They're no-nonsense bartenders. They're there to get you a drink not hold your hand.

    Food:
EYAC has delicious food. The BBQ pork burrito is absolutely delicious. They also have great blue plate specials throughout the week. Everything I have had here has been great.

    Atmosphere:
Once again the yelpers are throwing around that dive bar term. This is not a dive bar! Go to the Northside Tavern if you want to be in a dive bar. I like this bar. They have comfy bar stools, a couple of booths and a dart board!

I'd forgotten how much I like this place. I'll have to start coming here regularly again.

Funky and fun.  Don't go if you are into yourself and would be offended by a guy in a chicken suit.  It's a bar, which is a good thing.

Bars of all bars, kinda a secret it seemed in ATL.  The one place i think that still allows smoking.  I was also able to meet the owner and he seem very hands on and friendly with everyone and seems to know everyone as well.  Great place, just be aware of the smoking policy there.

Yacht Club is a real life, walking talking, nitty gritty, makes no excuses bar. If your old burly uncle Tom who lives off of cigars, whiskey, and red meat could be transformed into a bar, that would be EAYC.

It's a dark and crowded small room right off the main Euclid Ave. triangle.  I think the only lights in the bar were either florescent red or these tiny lamps situated on a few of the tables. The drink choices are basically standard beer or standard liquor for a standard price. Side note- they do have champagne if you are looking for some bubbles in your life. They've got darts going in the back and I hear pretty tasty bar food.

The crowd is mixed.  Ages ranged from young, trendy little 5ers to old, seasoned  regulars.  You can tell that EAYC is the type of place that  has a cast of characters that come here at least tri-weekly.  If I lived in the little 5 area, it would be a good place to grab a drink occasionally, but I can't see myself making the drive to Euclid just for the purpose of going to the Yacht Club. There wasn't a whole lot happening, but I think that is the draw of a place like this. EAYC- not my cup of tea but it is certainly someones.

I am not a fan of the lable "dive Bar", this is an old favorite of mine in the Little five area, awesome beer selection, great people, and one of the best burgers in town.

I love dive bars, and this certainly falls in that category.

Great bar food. My personal favorite is the Galley Burger on Texas Toast with Bacon & Cheese. But I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as stellar as my specific preference.

It's dark, its kind of dated, it's Little 5 Points and PBR.  But it's not a hipster hangout.  There are all sorts of people at EAYC.

This would be MY bar if I lived in L5P (er, and if I lived in Atlanta... or Georgia... or the South... or... you know). The Euclid Ave Yacht Club is totally my kind of place, and did so right by me on my solo-daydrinking ATL adventure. It reminds me of Anchored Inn, in Bushwick, Brooklyn, but way more awesomely non-hipster. I'm exploding just thinking about the time I had here.

After discovering that the Porter wasn't the dreamboat I expected, I jauntily hopped down the street (thanks to a couple Wild Heaven brews) and really couldn't resist the glowing neon "bar beer food" sign and the apparent nautical theme (hello, I'm Melanie and I'm originally from Maine). I immediately took a seat next to an old man with flowing white hair who kept insisting that I wasn't too close to him as he sipped from his Miller Light. This, friends, is how I knew I was in the right place.

For some reason, I was feeling a little pissy (see: hungover from the night before) when I first got there, and thought, well, I really like this place but I'll just have a couple beers and go explore s'more. Seven pints/three drunken hours later, my friend came to meet me and I drunkenly texted him from the other side of the room "whyreyou txting me, i seeeee youuuu..." EAYC was definitely my favourite drinking experience in Atlanta.

The bartenders here were really cool, and a more pleasant version of who I imagined I would encounter at the Porters (see review). I have never been called "sweetheart" by so many tattooed gentleman in my entire life - thanks, The South! I lived in Ohio for 4 years, and the EAYC reminded me of my wonderful, wonderful times there. Everyone was so chill and down to earth - I made a zillion friends, including a really hot MILF who struck up a conversation with me because her husband was watching football (zzz), a law student named... I don't remember... who took my number because he was going to a sweet show and said I should come (my phone died shortly after checking in to the Clermont - whew!), a hot/really nice gentleman whose pretty girlfriend was from Manhattan and who was celebrating her birthday that night - both of them at different times made such pleasant conversation while waiting at the bar for drinks. Aside from this, there were so many different types of people who I talked to or saw in passing that just seemed... really awesome. EAYC, I approve!

Of course the nautical theme made me feel right at home, and I always love places where you see normal middle aged people, hip kids, college kids, working class dudes, salty old men, MILFS, etc etc... all commingling and getting on happily together. It's like pure heaven. There was no other option after the Euclid Ave Yacht Club but to up the ante and head to the Clermont. Because really, what is better than being hit on by gentlemen with flowing white hair? Nothing, other than super-super-busted looking strippers and r&b dance hits!

Warning--This is a bar, this is a bar.

I'm a little weary about tagging this place as a dive bar because at my age, I remember when a bar was a bar and if you wanted a "cocktail list", then you were probably in the wrong place.  Think before "Gastropub" or "Apple Martini" were popular sayings.

Beer, liquor, they got that.  Not a huge beer selection, but again, if you're looking for a hoppy IPA with IBU's over 70, you might be in the wrong place.

If you like BBQ and good solid bar food, these guys have been doing it for so long, some of the patrons there weren't even able to vocalize "Fox Brothers" when they started out.

Smoky, dark, crusty, welcoming (if you're not a douche).  That's how I would describe this place.

Some of the bums in L5P have been there for longer, but not many.

My suggestion would be to go in there with your finest Polo shirt and Captains hat.

Warning- This is a dive bar. I repeat, this is a dive bar.

As long as you walk in here and understand that this isn't a place where you can get your favorite fruity drink which happens to be made with 12 different kinds of flavored vodka and a piece of flaming cotton candy on top; then you should be fine.

I came here after I consumed copious amounts of alcohol at dinner and Variety Playhouse for Yacht Rock Revue's 80's prom and this place didn't disappoint. My buddies and I raged and had a fabulous time. Bonus: We were able to score a cab at 2am or so(after stepping out) without much effort.

Overall, a great atmosphere in little 5 with fun times, good drinks and a place where you can be as loud and silly as you want as chances are, others are being even more loud and ridiculous. Fun times!

    Facts-
    * My only complaint is that the service can be a bit slow at times.
    * I can guarantee you'll get accosted by 1-3 random gals to make out. This happened to both of my friends. They politely declined. Good for them...no one likes the herp.

Alright, I've been debating where to make this announcement (which is why I haven't written any reviews since the beginning of the year....!) but the Yacht Club is as good a place as any.  Here goes.

So...remember how I was vegan?  Then remember how I was vegetarian?
...well....I got tired of no one else caring and I sort of...stopped.  You veg Yelpers were supposed to be FRIENDS with me!  You were supposed to SUPPORT me!  Instead I was all alone, in the meat-centric South, just a delicate, slightly anemic West Coast flower, wilting in the thick and oppressive heat, with no one to eat tofu with.

Anyway, was the Yacht Club where I had my first piece of meat?  No.  That was awhile ago, I was just too chicken (pardon the speciesist remark!) to write a review of all of the places I've been gorging myself since then.  No, I'm merely choosing the Yacht Club as the place where I come clean because it was just one of the most recent places I went.  And I had a BLT there.  And it was really good.  And some mac & cheese.  Which was REALLY REALLY good.  Like, some of the best mac & cheese I've had.  Oh, and hella beers.

It's funny, because since moving to Atlanta I've basically been in the Little 5 orbit and I've explored a lot of places, but I always just walked on by the Yacht Club.  Then finally, I was out with a friend to grab dinner and drinks and she suggested the Yacht Club and I was like "what?" and she was all "fer cereal" and i was like "mm'k!"  And I was pleasantly surprised - I may have found my new favorite dive.  And I love me a good dive.  The atmosphere is appropriately dark and mildly grimey and smokey and has the right kind of quirky touches, like ringing a big bell when you leave a good tip.  And the music was all New Wave and 90s indie rock when I was there.  And the food is WAY better than it has any right to be at a place like this.  What more do you really need?

This feels like a place where Hubby D and I could be a regular. It's a bar. A good bar. With real people in it. We like to come here and just talk the night away at the bar, or meet up with a group of friends in L5P and grab on of the big tables in the side room. It's not a place to be seen, it's just a good place to be.

My favorite visit was earlier this year on a snow day. We were freezing and they were open. The bartender made up some warm whiskey drink for me and we had some very tasty food, whatever it was.

Sometimes it gets a little to crowded to find a space, but make some friends and enjoy it.

Cheap beer, quick service, just make sure you don't make friends..aka talk with with the creeper at the bar... which just so happens to be your friends neighbor...who then hides in bushes at night when your friend goes out for a late night stroll

    ......true story.

    I absolutely love this bar!

I just find comfort in this place. The people are all easy to get along with and are very inviting. I've never once had any rudeness here.

The food...yuuumm...I like to order the Georgia Dog with slaw on the side. It's one of the best hot dogs I've ever tasted.

Funny thing is...all these years...I've been calling this place 'BAR BAR BAR' ...just until this year.. when I finally realized and finally remembered the name. LOL.

The Euclid Avenue Yacht Club gets my business every time I'm in Little Five Points. If it were closer to my midtown home, I'd be in serious trouble. What I love most about EAYC is they treat everyone like a regular. Even when it's obvious you're not.

The drinks are strong, the food is good, and the prices are cheap. Service is a team effort, and mostly spot-on, but it can get crazy just before 8:00 PM, when the non-regulars are heading out en masse to see whatever show is at Variety Playhouse. (Full disclosure - if I'm at EAYC before 8:00 PM, I'm one of them.)

I like to get a table near the window to check out the always interesting Euclid Avenue foot traffic. My go-to order is the grilled cheese with a side of broccoli, but I also love their Brunswick stew. Whatever your pleasure, you'll be able to find something on the menu to enjoy.

    EAYC:

I have been more times than I can keep track of... mainly, because I live blocks away and it's one of those bars that  you can play darts and have some 'colbeers' with yer buds without the BS that comes with some of the other places around.

It's got the L5P bar integrity (shared by Star Bar)  and that should be enough to make you stop by...  but if you do, you gotta TRY THE BRISKET.  -I would've never tried it on my own but a friend recommended it and WOW.  I make it a point to get it every time I come back.

Not sure how or why this place ended up being called the yacht club but I like it.  I was there on Sunday and shared a pitcher of PBR with friends. The place is full of all kinds of odd crap and down to earth bar types. I think it's a little "too real" for some of the kids that you usually find in Little 5 which suits me just fine.
They have parties in there for just about any reason they can think of. I don't recall the food from a previous visit but I do remember some strong drinks!  If you're a smoker then you'll love this place. If you can tolerate smoke then this place is good too (very efficient hvac!)!

EAYC is the quintessential dive bar in L5P.  It's just crowded enough.

Most people won't like it. Don't try it. The food is (yum, yum) terrible.  I'd like to keep it my very own little secret as long as I can!

Also a surprisingly good place to grab a bloody mary Saturday or Sunday morning. Just the right amount of heat and bite to keep you warm any cold day.

FYI - Do not pour your own liquor or reasonably they will kick you out. Lesson learned.

I know that I had an entire meal here, but I can't remember what it was. I completely blame that fact on the succulent tots I had alongside my... main meal. Huh. I don't know if that means whatever sandwich thing I chose wasn't good or if the tots simply overshadowed it with awesomeness, but if you love tots, that's one thing they do well here.

The tots were good, the waiter was incredibly attentive and patient as we stumbled our way through the menu, and the beers were reasonably priced. It wasn't too loud, though as I left trivia was about to begin so I'm sure that small, packed space got a little bit rowdier. Still, it was low enough pre-trivia for our group to chat with one another, and I loved that it was around a giant round table. Much easier to talk to everyone when you're not on plank!

On the night I was there, they were having a Christmas contest where you built funky gingerbread houses. The voting had already been done, but it was fun to walk around and see how creative people were! It was also nice to see a bar sponsoring an event like that. Anything that gets people involved with creativity gets a big gold star in my book.

Parking is crappy, which is my one drawback to anything in the Little 5 area. You'll spend more time trying to find a place to rest your car than it takes for you to complete your meal from start to finish!

As much as I really want to love this place, I just don't think it's going to happen (I'm trying, I really am). I really really love Dive Bars, and I hate that it is not happening. It mostly has to do with the service, it is just sub par. While meeting friends there for a few drinks on a Wednesday night we had to wait 20 minutes to get a second beer and it was all because our server said that he had to deal with some "drama"... b.o.r.i.n.g.... I don't care, keep my palate wet mister!

At any rate, they have some pretty yummy bar food (boiled peanuts included) and the crowd is the usual Little Five folks. There's always something interesting going on outside and it's in a good location. I will keep going back, but maybe next time with my own flask ::tsk tsk::

The most non yacht club environment ever.  This was a staple of our happy hour circuit for many years when I worked downtown.  Haven't spent a ton of time here later in the evening, but I can attest that it does get packed and getting service can be spotty....which is typical for most small, semi-cramped dive bars.  What I like are the little nooks near the front windows.  Just a bench and a railing is all you need.

Beer selection always changes and there's enough to please the beer snob and the beer slob, are all equal at the Club.  They used to be the only place in town that had Abita Purple Haze on draft, which I love.

As for the food, there are two standouts:  the Brunswick stew and the pull pork sandwich platter.  Who woulda thought the best stew and pork in the City is in L5P?  It is.  I swear to god that sandwich (w/ 2 sides for $7) is the best thing going.  Perfection on a Challah.

The EAYC is L5P.  Everyone, from toothless bums to yuppie scum, all come together to drink in dark, tacky, wonderfulness.

I love dive bars. One of my best friends was telling me how he prefers malls rather than bars when it comes to meeting the opposite sex since the former are smoke and alcohol free and generally more conducive to attracting a better clientele. I disagree.

When it comes to the prospect of "hooking up," I find anything other than a dive bar to be a little too polished and a little too upscale for such activity. The Yacht Club is one of my favorites for many reasons too obvious to mention. Perhaps it is the location in L5P. And the food is above average; I would argue that it is often excellent. The service is always solid.

My favorite menu item is the BBQ beef brisket burrito. To some it may sound gross; however, I find it to be the perfectly simple combination of sweet and spicy; tender spicy beef marinated in a sweet BBQ sauce paired with BBQ beans and cheese in a flour tortilla. A nice consolation prize in lieu of not finding someone to make out with at the end of the night.

Ahh where to start. Anyone of the regulars will tell you it's their "home away from home" and you'll notice once you step in.
Formerly a well-known "biker bar" the EAYC welcomes everyone! i mean everyone!  from hippies to biker to young professionals to old professionals etc. You will never feel like outsider in this little joint.
Mondays are especially awesome when they have Trivia with Robert Holland as the MC. The staff is friendly and accomodating and the food is offthe chain! (try the briskett! I promise!)
Stay a while and you'll be sure to make new friends and have interesting conversations with any of the regulars

To quote the Mayor of Little 5 Points,  "I love this place!"
Strong drinks, yummy food, colorful people, and great music!  Almost everyone is a regular and if you're not, chances are you will be after a few minutes.  You'll be treated like family.  Sometimes the red headed step-child, but mostly the favored child!
Monday night is Trivia with Robert Holland.  He will keep you scratching your head as you down your favorite tasty beverage.

Dive bars in L5P are not my thing, but I had to meet some of my fellow Yelpers in person.  Must admit that I was not too focused on the space and more into conversation with the Yelp Crew.  However, the Yacht Club was about like every other dive bar I been to; smoky, lots of beer on tap, PBR, fried food, mediocre service, and dcor that has accumulated (like dust) over time.  I stuck to the stuff you really can't screw up like beer and boiled peanuts.

I would probably go back if I decided to grow a ponytail and start leering at girls half my age. :D

Much deserving of its dive bar status, the Yacht Club's name is deceiving to any newcomer. It's as far away from boat shoes and seersucker as possible and is a Little Five Points mainstay.

The best thing about the Yacht Club is the kitschy collection of menu items. I mean, roasted AND boiled peanuts? Deep fried Yacht Dog? Pulled pork? And the ability to get mashed potatoes instead of French fries? I like it.

If you need a drink ASAP, check out the bar - the table service may take a while.

This is a dive bar that delivers what it promises: A divey good time. When I was there they were playing some nice loud indie-ish rock music and I think a little bit of hip-hop. There is a nice long wooden bar on one side and plenty of table seating on the other side.

Nice beer selection: probably 10 or 12 draughts and 20 or so bottled beers, including lots of local sweetwater and terrapin microbrews. Plus they have the cheap cans of pbr and schlitz.

I didn't try the food, but it looked like they had a barbecue menu. Definitely a great place to get your drink on.

Take a dive at the E.A.Y.C.

The Euclid Avenue Yacht Club... my favorite watering hole in Little 5 Points, and one of the best(if not the best) bars in the city. Everybody from Hog-riding bikers to members of the local hard-rock and Dead Head scenes to the occasional Virginia Highlands refugees hang out at this offbeat joint. Nautical decor and colorful personalities notwithstanding, the Yacht Club serves up potent cocktails and just about any domestic brew you can imagine. This is where the locals hang, especially before and after a show at the Variety Playhouse down the street. Loud, pub-like and as comfy and worn as an old shoe. Many of my tales come out from this joint... Stop by when you have a chance, enjoy a cold tall boy PBR, eat some of the best BBQ intown, and challenge me at a dart game if you dare ;)

This smoky neighborhood tavern is filled with locals. I've seen old men in their buttoned up flannel shirts yapping about Bush, younger 20 something know it all discuss the meaning behind some overly advanced literally movement that I don't an will never understand, and somewhat out of place college girls ordering a beer in between their fashion fabulous boutique hopping Saturday afternoon.

The place pretty much resembles your attic, a collection of trinkets full of dust and grime that adds character to the place. From a random mini iron bicycle to a full collection of encyclopedias (probably never been opened) to black and white framed photos of fishing trips, you are sure to find something to strike up a conversation about.

The Yacht Club was pretty interesting, like almost every little shop, restaurant and bar in little five points.  Actually, because of my suburban dwelling geographic location that has been existent from my youth until the present, this place was really interesting.

One of the biggest contributing factors to the appeal of this bar has to be the unique and diverse customer base that frequents the location.  I remember looking around at each table and noticing that none of the individual groups in the entire place were remotely similar to one another.  You had the biker guys sitting at one table, the 40-60 year old Hippie looking college professors sitting at another, and a group of young college kids sitting at the table next to them.  The place had so many different groups of people I felt like I was a guinea pig for some weird sociology experiment.

Our particular waiter for the night was a real nice guy.  He made sure to check on our beverage depletion level every 2-3 minutes, which automatically qualifies any server for a gold star in my book.

The entire place was also furnished with pictures and various adornments that looked like they had been purchased from an antique store or pawn shop in the 70's, which I though gave it an ample amount of character.

During my visit I really just drank beer, so an honest review on their food is going to be a stretch; however, the one of the guys in my group did eat a burger which he noted as, "tasting pretty freakin' good."

L5P has no shortage of dive bars (Star Bar, El Myr, Vortex), but the Yacht Club is still a welcome component of this rebel neighborhood.

The best seat in the Yacht Club is the big table at the front of the side room. In the summer, they open the front windows. If you pass by and notice your friends sitting in front, you can literally step through the window and join them. I don't know if the bar owners encourage this, but it's possible nonetheless.

The only problem with the Yacht Club is that it's a popular spot and on weekends it's tough to get a seat. But such is the price of fame.

Great bar.  All types of patrons.  Good beers, great prices, good burger.  Cool bartenders.

Problems include parking (it's L5P) and you have to spend at least $20 to use plastic.  But, if you're like me or my friends, that isn't going to be a problem.
