Overall, a better choice than the McDonald's down the road -- I mean that in the best way possible

I have been a few times, and I was not impressed the last time I went in. I needed to kill some time before an appointment near downtown, so I stopped in for lunch with the roommate. First, I was not impressed with the service at all. I know it was a little before a lunch rush would hit, but I still feel like the guy taking my order should not be texting as I am trying to order.

Next I ordered the full size roast beef po'boy (maybe I should stop doing that). When it came out, I noticed I was holding a plate with two po'boys on it. (One of the ladies working there explained that they just do two regular sized sandwiches instead of one big one (weird but nothing that really detracted from the experience). My main complaint, and I suppose it is a big one, is that my po'boy had entirely too much mayonnaise on it. I know I don't really like mayo, and I just kind of assumed that a sandwich does not need mayo and gravy, but that was just waaaaaaaay too much mayonnaise for a sandwich.

I enjoyed my fried okra (but I will enjoy almost any fried okra). I am sure I will be back, but I will also be sure to order the half po'boy and tell them to leave the mayonnaise off.

This little dinner isn't so bad.  It's just not cute, or glamorous, or anywhere where you'd recommend to a friend. With that said, I'd put it on the same level as any typical fast-food restaurant. So if you're in a pinch it's a completely fine place to go to, just not one you'll put on your favorites list.
Oh, and be careful of the bathroom.  It's down a scary hallway and very very grimy! Eek!

Gotta get a rootbeer. We usually split the burger and catfish poboy. The fries are good, too. Terrible ketchup... I don't know what it is, but it's definitely not Heinz!

Be polite... throw away your trash and put your mugs on the side counter. They're not open very long, mostly just to serve lunch to those who work downtown. I don't even think they're open on weekends, check before you go.

Nothin' wrong with a greasy spoon! Go for the poboys. The catfish is done well on a good French roll. The rootbeer is tasty, if a little too vanilla-y for my taste, but you can't go wrong in the frosted mug when the rootbeer freezes and floats to the top. And I'm a sucker for any place that serves good okra. Good for what it is.

This is definitely a greasy spoon diner.  We stopped there when I wanted ice cream and Andrew wanted a burger and what appeared before us was the Frostop.  "This looks cool" we said.  After all, it does have a giant root beer right out front and looks all 1950's.

And it wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either.  It reminded me of food at small town fairs or amusement parks.  The prices were okay I suppose, a burger and fries with two malts for $10.  There were pretty big chunks of malt powder in my malt which I didn't really like.  So probably won't stop back again.

Great Root beer. I had the Grilled Shrimp PoBoy.  It was explained to us that's just another word for sub.  It was great. Come on an empty stomach

This sin't the best frostop I've ever been to. It's good to get some Ted's rootbeer in a frosted mug though.

This is greasy spoon perfection.  If a couple of fly strips and chipped fromica offend you then go elsewhere but if you want a burger, fries, and the BEST damn rootbeer ever then Frostop is your jam.
