I guess the mixed reviews here may be related to inconsistency but my experience here was terrible. I am a very mellow and laid back person. I am not usually concerned or worried about cleanliness. I am most concerned about the taste of food. This place was not great and amazing by that measure, and the level of cleanliness was below what I consider acceptable to say the least. During my meal, I saw two adult and several baby roaches on the wall. When one crawled across the table, I threw my food in the trash and left. I wish I could give this spot zero stars. I was so grossed out. I don't complain and I would have forgiven another kind of insect. Multiple roaches??? Close this place down.
Review Source:Tried fort the first time last Saturday. Â Smaller than I expected. Â Looked recently remodelled and clean. Â Server and manager were very friendly. Â Casual and inexpensive good for quick meals. Â Â I didn't get the hot dogs which seem to be their specialty. Â Bother ordered the Greek gyro. Good size goos fries. Â Not the best I ever had but really my fault....they specialize in hot dogs. I will go back to try the hot dogs
Review Source:I really want to love this place because I love its persona. Â It's been around forever. Â The quintessential hot dog/hamburger joint your grandparents would reminisce about. Â Housed on a supremely busy intersection its a standout and visually appealing. Â I'd give it 5 stars for it's authenticity.
What I can't give it praise for is its food. Â Every year I go expecting that perfect combination of grease for their burgers - or that very baseball kind of hot dog. Â What I get for the burger is akin to what you buy in the frozen food dept. Â No flavor. Â No juiciness. Â A hockey puck. Â Their hot dog isn't much better. Â
I really want to like this place because I love sitting out in the patio area. Â Especially when they have the classic car shows. Â But I just can't let go of the fact that the food is really quite bad.
