After eating at several other restaurants in Chinatown, this has become the go to place for great food, great portions and a great price. Â The duck is among the best, with crispy skin and very meaty, Â when the dishes come out, we always comment on how much food comes for the price. Â The wonton noodles soups are very good and we share it with dinner. Â The singapore noodles and chow mein dishes are excellent. Â We have never had a disappointing dish here and this is about the cheapest place in all of Chinatown and one of the best imho. Â It is small and seems fairly empty most of the time, but don't let that discourage you from visiting this hole in the wall. Â This was Chinatown, before the newcomers came and bought up the old places and renovated them!
Review Source:1st timer. Tried lunch special pork chop with onions not enuf meat mostly bones like 6 pieces over lots of rice with onion and soggy with egg
Also ordered the BBQ with egg over rice which is good
The chow fun with chicken n BBQ pork n vegetable taste ok but looks yucky the chow fan was like pasted together
Maybe will just order the BBQ pork next time
No more lunch special for me
Food - 4 stars.
Service - 2 stars...
I used to enjoy this hole in the wall Chinatown establishment, been coming here for years. Â This is your no-frills, in-and-out Chinese restaurant when you want a plate of delicious BBQ meat with rice. Â The service was minimal but warm, they used to have a couple middle aged ladies as server before, and they were always nice and friendly. Â
I want to say up until maybe 1.5 - 2 years ago, a skinny, aloof, younger girl started working there full time, and she became the reason that I stopped going there. Â I always paid cash when I came here, I really don't want Great Wall to pay credit card transaction fees when their prices are dirt cheap already. Â But more than one time, when Meager Mandy gave my change back, it was short-changed. Â
So the last time I was there, I decided to pay by credit card, when she brought back my card for me to sign, she stood by my table and waited for me to sign. Â I was texting that time and she stood there for a good 15 seconds. Â I could only assume she wanted to make sure I give her enough tip. Â Maybe she was burnt many times by cheap customers, but this is really not the way to make up for it.
