Very nice ambiance!  Drinks are strong and the DJ is on point.  Thursday nights are for ladies that love ladies.  Don't bother paying for a hookah, they're like $30 and not worth it!!!

I've been here once and it was several months ago but couldn't remember the name because I went with a client at his suggestion. I loved this place. It has great ambiance, it's classy but still down to earth. You have a variety of people there ranging from the service industry to corporate professionals maybe even executive. I went on a Thursday and it was quite a few people in there. They had good drinks, I enjoyed the music and kept eyeing the dance floor and all of the sudden, I had an epiphany, I can't dance. LOL. Anyway, I enjoyed, definitely recommend and will be going back back.

My bf and I had a friend in town from back home (Palm Beach, FL) & on his last night we decided we wanted to go somewhere in town. We both (me and my bf) searched Yelp and the web and decided to go Halo. When I walked up to the door they were blasting Gucci, plus plus plus. I was free, my bf and our friend had to pay $10 each. As we walk in the first thing that hits you is the HEAT! I mean dang, no AC?? Is it broken or are y'all just rude? Luckily for me I was dressed in shorts so I wasn't too hot, but I felt bad for my dude and our friend because they were both wearing long sleeve shirts and pants. Anyway, the place is DEAD.. Maybe, 20-40 TOPS. And we got there pretty late.. (if I'm remembering correctly). So we walk up to the bar, I get Kettle One and Diet (can't remember how much) and my bf and our friend, get Long Islands, the bartender asks if they want Top Shelf, they say yea.. They were $15 each, but they both agreed that they were STRONG. We stayed for one drink and bounced (WAY TOO HOT).. ended up going to Hand in Hand. Overall it was okay. I would go there again, maybe, as a joke. The three of us were the only white people.. we didn't care, we were getting a kick out of it. Some dude came up and gave my bf and our friend a compliment on their "swag" hahaha. I will say this though, awesome music and cheap strong drinks.. not bad.. if you're into that kinda thing.

If I could give this place zero stars I would.  Me and my girlfriends decided to go here on Saturday night after having dinner close by. We parked in the back parking deck for the Roosevelt hotel and it was $5.  Not bad. We walked around to the door. P.s this place is difficult to find. No signs on west Peachtree, it's on a little side street. When we got to the door there were about 5-6 bouncers and a cop. We went through the little rope and thy inspected our purses. Took my motion sickness medicine? And my friends mase. We were told the cover was ten dollars a person. I didn't have any cash so the lady with the cash register took my boyfriend and mines id's so that we could go use the ATM inside. When we walked in this place had NO ac on. It was scorching hot and there were only about 25 people inside. We all stood there for a minute at the door and decided we didn't want to stay. 2 seconds later a cop comes in holding my boyfriend and mines Id and tells us to pay immediately. We then proceed to tell him we did not want to stay. He says they will hold our id's until we pay. He ushers us to the ATM and stands behind us while we pay. Errr WHAT?? He takes the money and gives us our id's. we speak to a "manager" about the situation and that we want our money back since we did plan on leaving. He tells us to leave and we go back outside. The bouncer puts us outside the rope then proceeds to ignore us. The manager comes back out and tells us he has to call the owner on the phone. Umm why is the owner not there? He tells us we can't get our money back to get the hell away. Everyone here was a complete asshole! Just bad business.... Never ever going back to this establishment again!

Halo was ok. I arrived around 10:45 and was suppose to get in free before midnight since I was on the guest list. The girl at the door told me that "was over", so I wound up paying $10 to get in. Each time I went to the bar, the same drink was a different price. I guess it just depends in how much the bartender decides to charge. I was expecting more of a lounge atmosphere, but Halo is definitely a club. I probably won't be going back anytime soon even though its walking distance to my house.

Halo is a great lounge in the heart of Midtown. Literally, the guts of it, because if you don't know where Halo is, it can be tricky to find because the address says West Peachtree Street but it's really on 7th.

Drinks are comparable in price to the other bars on the block (and its a cheaper option than some of the other clubs if you're looking for more of a chill atmosphere). I was recently here for the Woodford Reserve Manhattan mix-off to cheer on some of my favorite bartenders in the city. On this Monday night, even though drinks were complimentary, the bartenders were super friendly. Two of them even showed me the recipes for a classic Manhattan and an Old Fashioned.

While I don't venture there often, I would recommend Halo to anyone out-and-about in Midtown looking to have a cocktail with a dash of party.

Arrived around 11:30 on a Friday night.  It was dead.  One couple at the bar.
    And three of us girls.
Which wasn't really bad.  The bartenders were extremely attentive and friendly.  The DJ played awesome music.  He came down and chatted with us for a bit, bought us a round of drinks. The bar changes colors periodically and the place just smells awesome.  I am not sure what they have in their air vents, but the air is cool, crisp, clean.

I loved the vibe here, even though it was dead.  I will definitely be back.

Real cool, trendy place - nice futuristic atmosphere that you would expect from a lounge downtown. I especially love the strange lighting built into the huge cave-like wall structure by the entrance and the psychedelic videos being projected on the back wall.
The "Timeless Tuesdays" open mic jam is really something special; you got a tight band right in the core of the building paired up with a fresh DJ to create a steady stream of soulful energy flooding the whole venue all night. The band is elevated up on that 2nd floor so you can go up and have a more intimate experience with the band or chill and listen by the bar. Nothing but bad-ass musicians and singers in the place. No complaints about this venue at all.

Although many of my friends think otherwise, I'm not a fan of clubbing.  I don't really like wearing dresses or dancing, so that explains why.  I do, however, enjoy lounges where you can just relax and sip on drinks over casual conversation and background music.  Halo Lounge provides an upscale bar-like atmosphere with a small dance floor on the 3rd level.

If no one in your group has ever been to Halo, it may be a challenge to find the entrance since it's on a side street (6th St.).  Once you find the entrance, it seriously feels like you're going through a "back door" instead of the actual entrance.  I recall wondering, "Is this the proper entrance?" the first two times I went.

During my most recent visit on a Saturday evening (technically Sunday around 1 am) to conclude my birthday weekend festivities, the bouncer told us that it would cost $50 for seven of us to enter.  There is no cover charge if you arrive before 10 pm, but it's normally $10 if you arrive later.

As soon as you walk in, you will see the large rectangular bar.  My friends and I have come to an agreement that it's way easier/quicker to get a drink if a female is the one who does the ordering.  Keep this in mind as I was able to order my drink less than a minute after approaching the bar.  I ordered my favorite, a "Sex on the Beach," which was strong and tasty.  I also got a Gin and Tonic for a friend, and the total for both drinks was $16.  This isn't cheap but not too expensive for the area.

There's a nice loungy area on the 2nd level with comfy sofas and tables.  When my friends and I were there one Thursday evening last year, it was really chill because there weren't many others there.  We enjoyed many (STRONG) drinks over good conversations, and I had way too much.  Although I don't remember too much from that night, I do know I had a great time!

I hadn't checked out the dance floor on the 3rd level until my last visit, but I liked it!  It's really small, but it makes it very "cozy" and intimate.  The music is loud and it makes it difficult to hold conversations, but you can go downstairs for that.  There's some seating along the walls so you can sit and take breaks between dancing, which is nice.  Additionally, there's a bar conveniently located on this level, so you can enjoy more drinks while you dance the night away.

Overall, Halo Lounge gets 4 stars for their sophisticated yet fun atmosphere where you can get reasonably-priced drinks and chill or dance depending on your mood.  If you're exclusively a fan of clubs like Vanquish or Reign, you may not like the small dance floor upstairs.  However, if you don't really like clubbing but primarily want to get your drink on at an upscale venue, Halo may the perfect place for you.

    We like to party,

I recently celebrated my birthday here. The lighting and atmosphere is amazing. It didn't hurt that we were in VIP right next to the DJ. The staff were amazing supplying me with two bottles of champagne. I had been here before for music industry events but never really got to experience it fully because I was focused on networking but this time we went all in. My friends enjoyed it and kept telling me how much they loved it there. For most of them it was their first time. If you've never been there it could be hard to find and parking isn't ideal but all of that hassle is worth it in the end.

Halo is a lounge. Definitely not a club but a lot of steps up from a bar. Gorgeous people. You can dance if you want to, but definitely not a requirement. Bartenders are gorgeous...bartenders are friendly...I will be back!

Here's my skinny on Halo and what its best for:

...On Weeknights...  A good meeting spot for drinks, if nothing else is jumping off... Also, if you've met someone for dinner or seen a show nearby, this would make a good Round 2 or even a closer.

...Fri/Sat Pregaming:  Think "after food but before the club." On certain nights, if it jumps off, you guys may end up staying here a lot longer.

...Big Groups:  If you're out celebrating with your people, this place is small enough to take over...

...For the Macks/Kitty-Kats:   Can be a good scene, if you guys come early enough... You'll have had time to move in, or will have exited for someplace better... Not a good place to end up late though, if you're coming in cold.

Otherwise, much sexier than Cypress Street, more lively than Ecco, and a different vibe from Escorpion, all of which are nearby.

    I hope this helps. Enjoy.

We were suppose to go to Reign or that other club near this (forgot the name) but it ended up getting canked and we didn't go.

So, my friends and I was looking for a place in midtown to drink. It took a while for me to find this place on Yelp but it was well worth it. It was my last night in atl and it was kind of empty. I made the best of it and had a good time.

The setup and vibe is nice. I can't say the DJ was that great but its ok. I plan on coming back whenever I come back.

All in all...I like the vibe and setup. I'm planning on coming back.

I came here Friday night, and had an amazing time! I've never went to a lounge before so I didn't really know what to expect. It's definitely very small and NOT a club. We had VIP since it was a close friend's 23rd birthday. We got 5 bottles, rounds of shots, and loads of dancing. The VIP tables were very nice, and they gave plenty of room to dance around.

Parking is conveniently across the street, and they do offer valet parking.

The place might be a little difficult to find since it is tucked away, but it's definitely worth going to if you just want to grab a few drinks downtown with friends, or throw a big 23rd birthday party at.

They even offer hookah, even though I didn't try it, since I'm not a fan of any sort of smoking, lol.

But definitely a great place to check out if you're in the area! Very chill atmosphere. Dress up though! Not a sneaker with jeans kind of place.

Visited Friday night; hadn't been in 2-3 years...I had good company, well loved by the staff but I witnessed the bartender's work and they secure Halo as a cool, lounge-like haven for those craving a dose of downtown Atlanta. The bartender's came off to me as young veterans in the nightlife world. They were fast, energetic, got it done; not sure if they were Atlanta natives but they welcome Halo's guests with a good looking facility & staff...guys were well dressed & the ladies had glossy lip gloss. (Yes establishments get points for NOT having bar rot & featuring eager / well trained staff)

Decor is eccentric, tucked away off West Peachtree near Fifth Group Restaurants Concept: ECCO. Opens late, swing by around 11:30pm-midnight.

Clubbing is not huge in Atlanta, and Halo comes off of a place that realized that after it opened.  The decor suggests a midsize club that plays house and rave music, but it is really a big lounge that plays pretty much everything.

The weekends are when Halo shines, but I have experienced some wild shenanigans on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The clientele is a mix of Georgia Tech kids still stuck in the kindergarten phase (girls on the right, boys on the left), young professionals, and club folks in painted on dresses (sexay) and dudes in jeggings (no es sexay.)

Drinks are moderately priced, and they have an absinthe fountain, which is a great conversation piece before the Green Fairie takes you for the night. Also, this place does have a nose candy scene, so there's that.

Parking is pretty good, there are lots near GaTech and street parking a couple blocks away. I can't remember the last time I paid cover - usually there isn't one and Halo always has some cool invite only event going.  it's not more than $10 though.

So if you like your nights filled with both house music and ATL rap, head to Halo!

    * Rating reflects on the Management.

We were visiting Atlanta for a professional conference and decided to randomly check the city on a Wednesday night. My colleagues/new found friends wanted to go dancing after hanging out from the bar and one of us stumbled upon Halo online.

We were such a large group (around 8 people) so the bouncers decided to charge us $5 per person, so the deal to get in wasn't that bad at all. In addition, my buddy and I were "bringing" the girls to the establishment.

The interior was amazing, very posh and the lighting was just elegant and dazzling.   The bar was fully stocked with liquor and the crowd was a mixed bag of hip, sophisticated and the outré.  The music was varied to pop, hip-hop, R&B and whatever remixes of the oldest song you can imagine. Yeah, it's that kind of music.

What the Bouncers failed to mention was.... we had to pay another $20 to dance....  Really?!?!?! There was a fee to DANCE!!!!! Everyone was surprised since all of us were coming from different States and none of us were familiar with their "policy". We haven't heard such a thing (the cover charge was originally $10 and a $20 "dancing" fee).  Almost all of us in the group had our share of paying a cover to get in bars and clubs but never came across paying extra money to dance. A few of my friends were brave enough to talk to the manager that night to inquire about the club's out-of-the-ordinary strategy to generate business.  The manager was unenthusiastic to hear what we had to say and wasn't very interested in giving us anything.

While my friends were still talking to the manager, some of us just decided to start drinking and not enter the dance floor. The lounge was pretty cool and spacious for us to actually dance. Good thing the bouncers didn't mind us dancing. We just want to have a good time like everybody else. The drinks weren't the best but they were pretty decent. We stayed because of the ambiance and some really good company.

There were two Hennessy Black cognac promo girls with Nicki Minaj wigs on. They were pretty awesome and really sociable. Some of my friends were offered special Hennessy cocktails and concoctions for free. Of course you have to pay money for another round of Hennessy Black cocktail.

After an hour or two of drinking, dancing and taking crazy pictures, we finally decided to call it a night and head to the hotel. My buddy paid his tab and we just rode a cab. Yes, very responsible of us.

But the night didn't end there...  As we were getting ready to put our p-jammies on, my friend noticed that the credit card he was given wasn't his at all. So we hurried down, took a cab and went back to Halo. (It would have been responsible on our part to check the card before heading out of Halo, but when you are drunk as a skunk, you just want to go home and lay down). The only good thing is: Halo closes around 3 AM. We were able to get there on time and confronted the manager about the mistake. Again, the manager handled the situation poorly and he pretended that it wasn't a big deal and he wasn't compromising on anything.  Hello Credit Card Fraud!!!!!

The night ended with a $40 cab ride home and 2 free shots. Wasn't impressed at all with their customer service....

I regret being so lethargic when the idea of going to Halo used to come up in conversation.  I had the impression of some weird azz rave club that had the type of crowd that I had no interest in partying with.

But contrary to my popular belief, this was not the case at all.  In fact, Halo was exactly the type of crowd I have grown to like.  Diverse, unique, eccentric and creative.

Halo has a tad bit of history and I apparently used to be very popular during Prohibition.  Learning this little tid bit was important, and really gave the place a unique feel.

The drinks were good.  I went on a Monday night during their happy hour.  Good stuff.  Cheap drinks....very fly.

Why did I think Halo was a dance club? I was wondering why the dance spaces were so tight....LOL

    Well it ain't! It's a lounge.

I loved the decor and the nightlife atmosphere the lounge provides. Cover charge before midnight is $5 and after it is $10. Pretty diverse group of people.

If you are looking for a really "clubby" bar check out Halo.

I had high hopes for Halo since its only a stone's throw from my place.  After dinner and a show at the Fox, my BFF and I wanted to get our dance on.  This place is really easy to miss...looks like nothing on the outside.

The decor is very trendy, but hovers on the "trying too hard" side. The worst thing about this place was the music.  The DJ should have his DJ license revoked indefinitely. The dance floor is incredibly small...this is more of a place to sit, drink, and look for a sugar daddy and not so much meant for bootyshaking.

After unsuccessfully waiting a good 30 minutes for a decent beat, we finally gave up and headed to the bar.  My friend is single and wanted to find a cute boy to flirt with. Unfortunately, the selection was meager, at best. The guys there were either barely legal or pushing 50.  After chatting with a couple of douches in skinny jeans sporting wanna-be emo haircuts, we finally paid our tab. Another shocker...$90. Wow, how the hell did that happen?  We both had 2 rounds of beer and a few shots. Definitely not worth it.

The only redeeming quality about this place was the bartender, he was very cool.

This place is tucked in an alleyway near Cypress St Pint and Plate, and across from The Biltmore.  You totally wouldn't notice it at all if it weren't for the door people there.

Inside, I can most aptly describe this place as a NYC-type lounge.  It's got two levels, but not enough space for anyone to really do any dancing.  But even if there was space, I doubt any dancing would go on as this isn't that type of crowd.  The crowd is more see-and-be-seen, girls in cocktail dresses and men dressed sharply.

The bartenders are so-so... they do the best they can with the crazy business there, and they are somewhat friendly but I can't say I'm either wowed or unhappy with them.

The decor is definitely nice, it's very dimly lit and a lot of neon lights and such.  Might hide the wrinkles on some of the older patrons here.

Overall, it's a nice place to go to if you want to dress up and have a drink but don't feel the energy of clubbing.  It's a prototypical lounge with typical lounge prices, service, and people.

As per Adam and Carrie's reviews, I also give this place a 4 star rating ;) (We really need to scope down the photo booth pictures!)

Awesome music, good drinks and nice staff. Also a pretty decent crowd for a Monday night. Interior was really cool and there is a little dance spot as well as another bar on the top floor. Overall, good location and well worth going to.

    A Confession

I thought I'd never been to Halo before. Before tonight (er, last night? Monday? Whenever . . . ), that is. I even said as much to the four of us still at Cypress, debating whether to send ourselves home like good little children or go next door for "just one drink."

    Uh, yeah. As soon as I walked in, I realized - "oh, wait!!" . . . "I HAVE been here!" . . . Hmm, guess I wasn't sober on my original visit . . .

Loved the photo booth. Not sure how great our pics turned out (I thought I was having a good hair day, but . . . ). Really loved the Madonna ("Holiday," my most-favorite-ever Madge song was rocking) and old-school MJ playing. Not terrible at all to go with a regular like Kit F. who knows, um, everyone there. Super people-watching - even on a Monday!!

Now that I've put two-and-two together (and gotten four!) I know I dig Halo. Maybe I'll even earn one, one day . . . we'll see!

I'm not a club person, nor am I hip or cool or even want to be! That being said!
Door person is as you would expect attitude, and part of the drink sales prevention team by over committing to his role!

We went with a couple that are well connected to the scene and they new all the movers and shakers in the club as well as the owner. This proved to be the best!

I loved the layout of the club, more of a lounge feel, good music, good vibe, again people really know how to step out in ATL and Halo did not disappoint.

Jason and Alicia were great, thanks for a great night out!

Dance club? That's not a dance club... thiiiis, is a dance club!

    (Clubs you over the head!)

I have to admit... I was shocked that there was a little L.A. style club  next to the place we just got 20 cent wings from!

Atlanta does that to you. City planning was clearly not a priority. I've stopped asking "why" now, and just go with with the flow! You have to! And thanks to people like Kit (walked us right in) the flow can be pretty damn smooth!

The space itself is impressive architecturally, and I love dance music, so I really wanted to move it after a couple of drinks!

Sadly... really sadly... there wasn't a dance floor to speak of! It's a lounge... so sad.

If it had a decent sized dance floor this would be my spot to go nuts at! Pounding lights, beautiful people, deep thundering music that makes your ass move!

Talking would be almost as impossible as dancing was... and you know what that means kids...

Have no illusions, Halo is a pick up bar.

A place  where you come to see and be seen.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I just prefer something a lot more... um... raw!

Halo apparently offers something a little different to the ATL scene. Not quite a club, but a step up from a bar. There's certainly a DJ and it's way too loud to hold any real conversation, but it doesn't have that overwhelming feeling of the larger dance clubs. The dance floor is upstairs so you can easily get away from the craziness and just belly up to the uber-hip bar.

The crowd also seemed a good bit more laidback than typical clubs. Sure, there were plenty of women wearing next to nothing, but there were also a lot in jeans who (like me) had probably just come from the other bars in the area.

Looking at the picture of Rita D. made me remember that a little over a year ago I practically LIVED at Halo. I was just getting out of school and worked at a bar where all the bartenders and servers were "in the know". They knew where all the cool underground hot spots were and where there were other good bartenders.
*Note to self: Bartenders ALWAYS look out for other Bartenders and servers*
Really cool laid back place but chic enough to the point where if you didn't look like you just bought the outfit you would stick out like a sore thumb. Can't really Gage the prices of drinks(refer back to previous note). The music is more techno and the lighting just adds to the fact but they will sample in other things so you don't feel like your at a Rave. If the place is still as cool as I remember I have to hit it up next time I'm in Atlanta.

"I want something creamy tonight!" Yes, that's what this girl said to the uber handsome and fabulous bartender, Ryan.

"I know exactly what you want!" he said and we exchanged winks.

Yes, Halo is one of those places where you can say something like that and they will always know you're just looking to hook up with a delicious drink.

Sitting in the beautiful bar, accompanied by a group of Atlanta's finest Yelpers, I waited for my drink while talking and talking to the adorable Tulie, and enjoying the "ambiance." I was really curious of what Ryan was carefully fixing at the other side of the bright, marbled counter. Halo was...the third stop of that night? Yes, maybe.

The place is charming in a very nightclub way, and because it was a weekday night, it wasn't packed or smoky as I read in other reviews (thank God!). The music was OK, nothing to write home about, but I understand the DJs can get really creative and entertaining.

The highlights were definitely the drinks. About five minutes after my liquor petition was made, Ryan came back with an ivory drink for me. I tasted it and immediately felt the love! It was similar to a Brandy Alexander, which I adore. On top of it, he put two fresh cherries marinated in Apricot Brandy. OM Lord! Those cherries, combined with a sip of the drink were mana and nectar from the gods in perfect unison! I can say my initially creamy joke materialized in a dainty, light and scrumptious drink. Ryan told me he usually makes it during fall and winter seasons, but he made an exception for me...nice touch! Tulie got a Pink Pussy (yes, that's its name!) and Pam got a Pear drink that looked spectacular. We all tried each others libations and loved them.

I will go back when in Atlanta...every time I think of Midtown, I will have those cherries in my mind. Always...

I know a man  that knows just about everyone in Atlanta in some way. What started out as a very chill night, (I say chill as me in skinny jeans a crazy logo shirt and beach sandals.) My get me the 'hook up' friend mentions taking the party to Halo (Girls usually can get by at clubs wearing whatever but beach sandals???) . We take the 30 steps from Cypress and My get me the 'hook up' friend walks up to the door at Halo slapping hands saying 'wut up' to everyone and gets us in, my neon yellow sandals and all.

I enjoyed Halo. Drinks are reasonably priced. The environment is very relaxed. I'm not much of a techno/house music girl but I actually enjoyed the music the DJ was spinning this particular night. Will Halo become my new Sutra (guaranteed to have a good time place?), Possibly!

A very cool, modern, upscale lounge where the pretty people hang out.

I arrived to Halo with a group of friends to attend the Lucid Absinthe Launch Party.  There was a good crowd for a Thursday and the Absinthe was flowing free-ly... I mean literally, everyone received two free absinthe drink vouchers (I used only one) and, frankly, if it had not been free, there would have been a lot less absinthe flowing...

The entrance to Halo is rather non-discript on a side street giving the impression of a well-kept secret.  Upon entering, the lounge has a very lofty ceiling but maintains an intimate mood with indirect lighting. The scene from the entrance is dominated by a long, straight bar uniquely lit from within to provide the dominant lighting for the bar area. There are also numerous areas with seating which enable groups to gather.

Adding to the ambience, a DJ played upbeat music at a level that you could talk over with a little effort (and with the help of intimate invasion of personal space ;) ) and the bartenders were friendly, approachable and helped with drink decisions.

I had the pleasure to come here on a Monday night where all the cool kids come and hangout. The place has a very cool bar that changes colors and is the only well lit item in the whole bar. It's dark, its roomy, and Ryan the cutey bartender serves up a great Pink Pussy.. yeah you heard.. it:)
The crowd that night were all from the "industry" meaning they work at restaurants, bars, and clubs.. all were friendly and the place closes at 3am.. wowsers.. upstairs they have a good lounge area , so if you are with a large group, this place has plenty of room.  Even with the indoor smoking, I was still able to breath freely.
Plenty of restrooms they even have a VIP bathroom:) so god knows what it's used for ..hehheeh..  Overall Great place to catch a drink.. and it's conveniently located.

Everytime I go to Halo I love it and say I should go more often, but never seem to.
The place - both the space itself and the crowd - has a great vibe. Chill, relaxed, hip, diverse. Its one of the few places I've found that maintains diversity and doesn't get overrun by one type of group or another.

I didn't go 5 stars, because I despise paying covers.

Not sure if they still do, but they used to have a guy who would play the bongo along with a guy spinning - it was amazing (if that is a certain nite - someone please let me know EDIT: Evidently that is Friday nite - thanks for the tip Gastro N.)

Monday nights are the only nights I LOVE going to Halo. The crowd is surprisingly diverse. Bartenders are pretty fast. But the good mix of music on Monday nights is the best reason to go. Oh and no cover charge helps to :)
Overall great place. Not very conducive for convo though. you've gotta find a corner to do that in, even then you have to be in someone's ear if you want them to hear you. But who's there to talk? I wanna dance:)

So, normally my Halo stories don't end very well... tonight was a great exception and that's quite an accomplishment considering that I went with a group of friends that all work at The Cheetah.  I don't mean to imply that strippers get into trouble.. well, maybe I do mean to imply that.  Regardless, tonight was amazing.

I use the word amazing with slight hesitation because for something to be amazing, it really has to be an event.  I met my friend Allison here after she invited me to see Tiffany perform.  No, not the Tiffany you're thinking of - although she's apparently very famous in Asia. :)

The crowd was very mixed (gay, straight, whatever, black, white, whatever, etc) and Tiffany sang pretty much all night.  She didn't do any cover songs and she basically felt her way through the beats that the DJ was playing. Incredible voice!

A completely wonderful night and I met tons of great people.  Since I doubt I can replicate the evening I don't know when I'll be back, but at least now I know that there is fun to be had.

Disclaimer: at no time was I sober during my visit to this establishment.

I mean, it was fine, and I had a good time, drunk. Cover was $5. I got my drink in a reasonable time, the music was decent if a bit ADD (they played something like 45 second clips of songs, from most of what I could tell, drunk). The crowd was okay. The layout seems less than ideal, and there is too much of a people jam to get from one place to another or find people or dance in certain areas, drunk. Not as much character as MJQ. And boy, did my dress smell awful when I left - maybe no more awful than any other smoky place, but not as worth it for some reason.

An Ultra-lounge...Where the music thumps loudly but very few people dance.  Limited seating, but that just forces you to make the rounds.
I was a little worried about clothes...but my pair of nice jeans and a button-up oxford with the sleeves rolled up...worked out well.

Since returning to Atlanta, it's one of the few places I have visited where I felt it was an older crowd.  It was a diverse crowd (gender, race, sexual preference), which is one of the things that makes Atlanta great.  Having lived in Nashville for most of the last 6 years, you don't see that very often.

Some people have written about drinks being a bit more pricey here.  I believe we paid $6 for Jack & Coke, and the drink was well made...strong but still tasty.

Limited street parking.  We paid 4 or 5 bucks to park in a nearby garage.

    I'll be going back.

Halo is definitely one of the more upscale bars in Atlanta's midtown that make you feel like you are really actually in a city.

A favorite among many young professionals of Atlanta, this hip-and-trendy bar delivers serious cocktails in a seriously swanky setting that gives off that oh-so-cool vibe that you see in the movies.

Most of the kids who play here think that they are too sexy for their shirt, and that everything is "hot. " Eh, alas, if you come with a group of friends it actually can be a very fun playground.

If you can find a place on the couches, you are in luck, because it will totally be your night, but if not, expect to be a bit uncomfortable as their isnt much seating. Solution: Keep on drinking. The more you drink, the more fun you have.

It's definitely a huge step up from the college bar scene I was accustomed to a few years back...Serious cocktails, serious atmosphere, and seriously swanky.

The crowd is super-posh, and there is a ton of money floating around, so if that is your thing, I say jump on board; you will be comfortable here.

I find it a great place to visit from time to time...But I dont go quite as often as I did when I first moved here...Some people call this place a bit pretentious, and I can understand why...But that wouldnt stop me from spending a night out on the town -and slinging back a couple of cocktails here..What can I say...I have the ability to have fun in any and all setting-especially with a cocktail in hand!

The decor is artsy, and the actual bar itself is dimly lit and serves to bring people together. There is a great seating area towards the back, and up the stairs. Cocktail tables and a small scale stair case serve as an area for more seating...

I dont consider this a dance club, but there is an area where dancing happens...I dont think its actually designated for dancing, but it works!

A diverse, ever-changing crowd keeps this club interesting. Nightlife enthusiasts are attracted to Halo's inviting, upscale feel...especially popular midweek. It's a nice setting for sipping cocktails and listening to music; there's even free wi-fi!

Weekends, however, attract a coiffed and accessorized clientele on parade.

All in All: Seriously Swanky, Stylish, & Sultry Spin On Atlanta Nightlife
