When you want cheap drinks, karaoke and Madonna-rama, the original Highland Tap Room is where it's at.  When you want a good cheeseburger, a good beer and good company, Highland Tap Room Grill is your place.

Highland Tap Room Grill has become my MacLaron's.  I live just a few blocks away and it's my go-to spot for a drink, to watch a game or for the occasional dinner with friends.  The interior is warm and inviting, nothing like the torn vinyl chairs in the original tap (though those have a certain charm of their own).  There is an extensive list of beers and the food is great.  They have one of the best cheeseburgers in Louisville--it literally melts in your mouth.  Though not on the menu, I requested a grilled cheese to go with a bowl of chili and they were happy to make it for me.  I've literally never had a bad experience here.

My only suggestion would be that the menu be more extensive and keep the karaoke at the original tap room.

Having been to the Highlands Tap Room a few times, I wasn't sure what to expect from this new location but my expectations certainly weren't high. The verdict? Expectations surpassed!

Since I read good reviews on the Uncle Keith's Thanksgiving Day sandwich, I had to try it. It was a slightly chilly day and man, that sandwich hit the spot. Typical Thanksgiving fare like cranberry sauce doesn't even really appeal to me normally nd the thought of grits on a sandwich only sounds worse than, well, grits in general. But, Highlands Tap Room Grill, you pulled off one killer sandwich. Now, I'm just going to need you to send some of these sandwiches to my family's house in a few weeks...

I just wish the prices on the menu were a tad lower and the scallions, cheese and bacon on the fries were loaded on a bit heavier.
