Flanagan's Ale House

I still love Flanagan's atmosphere.  But I had to update the review on those wings alone.  They must have changed the recipe on the wings.  They are still jumbo and fried; but now the wings are pre-marinated with buffalo sauce flavor and THEN fried.  So if you are like me and do not like Buffalo flavor but prefer sweeter heat...you're out of luck.  There is no way to avoid the sour heat.  As much as I longed for those juicy fried wings...I could not keep eating after picking through a couple of them.  But if you love Buffalo flavor, you would love these.

It depends on what you want. At night it's a packed pub with a dance floor, not a good place to just go have some good brews. During the day it is a calm place to go eat a pub fare lunch if you are looking for that. I am rarely looking for either of those. There are many places around the area with much better food, and many places to go dancing all night. If it's what your looking for- there are many options for you on that strip of Baxter Ave. Have fun!

I've been to Flanagan's so many times, I can't believe I'm just now getting around to writing the review.  Pint night is great (I think here it's on Tuesdays) so if you really enjoy trying new brews you should stop in for a drink.  I like getting new glasses for my house (they come with the beer of the evening), even though my husband hates it when the glasses in our cabinets don't match - it's worth the argument.  

Their food is fine, it's pub grub which isn't usually disappointing any place.  The bathrooms are always clean, and at the times I go I've never had an issue finding a place to sit.  If you are into dancing you should check out the bar in the back which is basically an old mother-in-law suite that's been converted for the use.  There is also a great outdoor seating area which is lovely in the spring and autumn.  

If you've not yet been to Flanagan's it's worth the effort to give it a shot.  If it's not your thing, there are only 1.3 million other bars within walking distance to choose from.  Enjoy.
